Parashat 19 Portion 63 – T’rumah – Shemot/Ex 25:1-26:30 Yesh 66:1-13 1Cor 6:12-20

This Torah portion and the following four Torah portions all discuss the pattern(tavniet) and construction of the tabernacle – mishkan – This is the most discussed topic in the Torah.

The English word "tabernacle" is derived from the Latin tabernāculum meaning "tent" or "hut", which in ancient Roman religion was a ritual structure.
The word sanctuary is also used for the scriptural tabernacle, as is the phrase "tent of meeting". The Hebrew word mishkan implies "dwell", "rest", or "to live in". that dwelt within this divinely ordained structure.
We often refer to the feast of tabernacles as “sukkot” where we build “sukkahs” – the Hebrew word “sukkah” refers to a temporary structure.

Ultimately YHVH seeks to dwell with us permanently and not temporarly – see New Yerushalayim.

Rev 21:2  And I, Yoḥanan, saw the set-apart city, renewed Yerushalayim, coming down out of the heaven from Elohim, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Rev 21:3  And I heard a loud voice from the heaven saying, “See, the Booth of Elohim is with men, and He shall dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and Elohim Himself shall be with them and be their Elohim.

This week’s Torah portion (Parashat Terumah), mirrors three of the technical terms of the Torah scroll:

Tabernacle
Torah Scroll
יריעות (yeriot) – The “curtains” that cover the Tabernacle (e.g., Exodus 26:32, 37; 27:10).
The pieces of parchment in the Torah scroll are called יריעות (yeriot), the same term as the curtains of the Tabernacle.
עמודים (‛ammudim) – The “columns” which hold up the Tabernacle and its accoutrements (e.g., Exodus 26:32, 37; 27:10).
The columns of the Torah scroll are called עמודים (‛ammudim), the same term as the columns of the Tabernacle.
ווים (vavim) – The “hooks” attached to the columns that hold up the curtains (e.g., Exodus 26:32, 37; 27:10).
The sixth letter of the Hebrew alphabet is called a וו (vav), the same term as the hooks that were attached to the columns of the Tabernacle.

Thus, according to this visual midrash, the Torah scroll is assembled in the same fashion as the tabernacle and is thereby a representation of it.
The Torah scroll is itself a type of reminder of the Tabernacle, while there is no Temple. This idea is expressed visually in each and every Torah scroll by what is known as the  Vavei Ha‛ammudim.

I recommend the following teaching on You tube on this parashah by Messianic teacher Joel Allen.

Exo 25:1  And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,
Exo 25:2  “Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, that they take up a contribution(terumah) for Me. From everyone whose heart moves him you shall take up My contribution.
Exo 25:3  “And this is the contribution which you take up from them: gold, and silver, and bronze,
Exo 25:4  and blue and purple and scarlet material, and fine linen, and goats’ hair,
Exo 25:5  and rams’ skins dyed red, and fine leather, and acacia wood,
Exo 25:6  oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet incense,
Exo 25:7  shoham stones, and stones to be set in the shoulder garment and in the breastplate.
Exo 25:8  “And they shall make Me a Set-apart Place, and I shall dwell in their midst.
Exo 25:9  “According to all that I show you – the pattern of the Dwelling Place and the pattern of all its furnishings – make it exactly so.
Exo 25:10  “And they shall make an ark of acacia wood two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high.
Exo 25:11  “And you shall overlay it with clean gold, inside and outside you shall overlay it. And you shall make on it a moulding of gold all around.
Exo 25:12  “And you shall cast four rings of gold for it, and put them in its four corners, two rings on one side, and two rings on the other side.
Exo 25:13  “And you shall make poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold,
Exo 25:14  and shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark, to lift up the ark by them.
Exo 25:15  “The poles are in the rings of the ark, they are not taken from it.
Exo 25:16  “And into the ark you shall put the Witness which I give you.
Exo 25:17  “And you shall make a lid of atonement of clean gold, two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide.
Exo 25:18  “And you shall make two keruḇim of gold, make them of beaten work, at the two ends of the lid of atonement.
Exo 25:19  “And make one keruḇ at one end, and the other keruḇ at the other end. Make the keruḇim from the lid of atonement, at its two ends.
Exo 25:20  “And the keruḇim shall be spreading out their wings above, covering the lid of atonement with their wings, with their faces toward each other, the faces of the keruḇim turned toward the lid of atonement.
Exo 25:21  “And you shall put the lid of atonement on top of the ark, and put into the ark the Witness which I give you.
Exo 25:22  “And I shall meet with you there, and from above the lid of atonement, from between the two keruḇim which are on the ark of the Witness, I shall speak to you all that which I command you concerning the children of Yisra’ĕl.
Exo 25:23  “And you shall make a table of acacia wood two cubits long, a cubit wide, and a cubit and a half high.
Exo 25:24  “And you shall overlay it with clean gold, and shall make a moulding of gold all around,
Exo 25:25  and shall make for it a rim of a handbreadth all around, and shall make a gold moulding for the rim all around.
Exo 25:26  “And you shall make for it four rings of gold, and put the rings on the four corners that are at its four legs.
Exo 25:27  “The rings are close to the rim, as holders for the poles to lift the table.
Exo 25:28  “And you shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold, and the table shall be lifted with them.
Exo 25:29  “And you shall make its dishes, and its ladles, and its jars, and its bowls for pouring. Make them of clean gold.
Exo 25:30  “And you shall put the showbread on the table before Me, continually.
Exo 25:31  “And you shall make a lampstand of clean gold – the lampstand is made of beaten work. Its base and its shaft, its cups, its ornamental knobs and blossoms are from it,
Exo 25:32  and six branches shall come out of its sides: three branches of the lampstand out of one side, and three branches of the lampstand out of the other side;
Exo 25:33  three cups made like almond flowers on one branch, with ornamental knob and blossom, and three cups made like almond flowers on the other branch, with ornamental knob and blossom – so for the six branches coming out of the lampstand.
Exo 25:34  “And on the lampstand itself are four cups made like almond flowers, with ornamental knob and blossom,
Exo 25:35  and a knob under the first two branches of the same, and a knob under the second two branches of the same, and a knob under the third two branches of the same, according to the six branches coming out of the lampstand.
Exo 25:36  “Their knobs and their branches are of the same – all of it one beaten work of clean gold.
Exo 25:37  “And you shall make seven lamps for it, and they shall mount its lamps so that they give light in front of it.
Exo 25:38  “And its snuffers and their trays are of clean gold.
Exo 25:39  “It is made of a talent of clean gold, with all these utensils.
Exo 25:40  “So see, and do according to the pattern which was shown to you on the mountain.
Exo 26:1  “And make the Dwelling Place with ten curtains of fine woven linen and blue and purple and scarlet material. Make them, with keruḇim, the work of a skilled workman.
Exo 26:2  “The length of each curtain is twenty-eight cubits, and the width of each curtain four cubits, all the curtains having one measure.
Exo 26:3  “Five curtains are joined to each other, and five curtains are joined to each other.
Exo 26:4  “And you shall make loops of blue on the edge of the end curtain on one set, and do the same on the edge of the end curtain of the second set.
Exo 26:5  “Make fifty loops in the one curtain and make fifty loops on the edge of the end curtain of the second set, the loops being opposite to each other.
Exo 26:6  “And you shall make fifty hooks of gold, and shall join the curtains together with the hooks, and the Dwelling Place shall be one.
Exo 26:7  “And you shall make curtains of goats’ hair, for a tent over the Dwelling Place, make eleven curtains.
Exo 26:8  “The length of each curtain is thirty cubits, and the width of each curtain four cubits, one measure to the eleven curtains.
Exo 26:9  “And you shall join the five curtains by themselves, and the six curtains by themselves, and you shall double over the six curtains at the front of the Tent.
Exo 26:10  “And you shall make fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that is outermost in one set, and fifty loops on the edge of the curtain of the second set.
Exo 26:11  “And you shall make fifty bronze hooks, and put the hooks into the loops, and join the tent together, and it shall be one.
Exo 26:12  “And the overlapping part of the rest of the curtains of the Tent, the half curtain that remains, shall hang over the back of the Dwelling Place.
Exo 26:13  “And a cubit on one side and a cubit on the other side, of what remains of the length of the curtains of the Tent, is to hang over the sides of the Dwelling Place, on this side and on that side, to cover it.
Exo 26:14  “And you shall make a covering of ram skins dyed red for the Tent, and a covering of fine leather above that.
Exo 26:15  “And for the Dwelling Place you shall make the boards of acacia wood, standing up.
Exo 26:16  “Ten cubits is the length of a board, and a cubit and a half the width of each board,
Exo 26:17  two tenons in each board for binding one to another. Do the same for all the boards of the Dwelling Place.
Exo 26:18  “And you shall make the boards for the Dwelling Place, twenty boards for the south side,
Exo 26:19  and make forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards, two sockets under each of the boards for its two tenons.
Exo 26:20  “And for the second side of the Dwelling Place, on the north side, twenty boards,
Exo 26:21  and their forty sockets of silver, two sockets under each of the boards.
Exo 26:22  “And for the extreme parts of the Dwelling Place, westward, make six boards,
Exo 26:23  and make two boards for the two back corners of the Dwelling Place.
Exo 26:24  “And they are double beneath and similarly they are complete to the top, to the one ring. So it is for both of them, they are for the two corners.
Exo 26:25  “And they shall be eight boards, and their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets – two sockets under the one board, and two sockets under the other board.
Exo 26:26  “And you shall make bars of acacia wood, five for the boards on one side of the Dwelling Place,
Exo 26:27  and five bars for the boards on the other side of the Dwelling Place, and five bars for the boards of the side of the Dwelling Place, for the extreme parts westward,
Exo 26:28  with the middle bar in the midst of the boards, going through from end to end.
Exo 26:29  “And overlay the boards with gold, and make their rings of gold as holders for the bars, and overlay the bars with gold.
Exo 26:30  “And you shall raise up the Dwelling Place according to its pattern which you were shown on the mountain.

I recommend this following teaching on you tube describing the pattern and present day application of the tabernacle.

12/24/2016

Parashat 18 Portion 62 Shemot 24:1-18 Yesh 60:17-61:19 Matt 26:28-28

Exo 24:1  And to Mosheh He said, “Come up to יהוה, you and Aharon (lightbringer), Naḏaḇ (Incite, compel, make willing, spontaneous) and Aḇihu (he is my father) is my , and seventy of the elders of Yisra’ĕl, and you shall bow yourselves from a distance.
Exo 24:2  “But Mosheh shall draw near to יהוה by himself, and let them not draw near, nor let the people go up with him.”

The Torah shows that there are those whom YHVH chooses that come closer to Him than others. The more we are conformed into the image of Yahshua, the closer we will be to YHVH. We know that presently Yahshua is in the physical presence of the Almighty. We also know today that there has been and still is a chosen priesthood who are being drawn closer to YHVH through Yahshua our Messiah.

Heb 4:16  Therefore, let us come boldly to the throne of favour, in order to receive compassion, and find favour for timely help.

Heb 10:19  So, brothers, having boldness to enter into the Set-apart Place by the blood of יהושע,
Heb 10:20  by a new and living way which He instituted for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh,
Heb 10:21  and having a High Priest over the House of Elohim,
Heb 10:22  let us draw near with a true heart in completeness of belief, having our hearts sprinkled from a wicked conscience and our bodies washed with clean water.

Messiah יהושע our Master,
Eph 3:12  in whom we have boldness and access, with reliance, through (the) belief in Him.

We are not in the presence of YHVH like Yahshua. However the scripture tells us that when we are in Yahshua, it as just as good as being in the presence of the Father because Yahshua is ever living to make intercession for us in the presence of the Father – Heb 7:25.

We may not always know what to say to the Father when through Yahshua we are in His Presence but the Ruach (Spirit) of YHVH empowers us.

Rom 8:22  For we know that all the creation groans together, and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.
Rom 8:23  And not only so, but even we ourselves who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, we ourselves also groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.
Rom 8:24  For in this expectation we were saved, but expectation that is seen is not expectation, for when anyone sees, does he expect it?
Rom 8:25  And if we expect what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with endurance.
Rom 8:26  And in the same way the Spirit does help in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray, but the Spirit Himself pleads our case for us with groanings unutterable.
Rom 8:27  And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the set-apart ones according to Elohim.
Rom 8:28  And we know that all matters work together for good to those who love Elohim, to those who are called according to His purpose.
Rom 8:29  Because those whom He knew beforehand, He also ordained beforehand to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, for Him to be the first-born among many brothers.
Rom 8:30  And whom He ordained beforehand, these He also called, and whom He called, these He also declared right. And whom He declared right, these He also esteemed.
Rom 8:31  What then shall we say to this? If Elohim is for us, who is against us?
Rom 8:32  Truly, He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up on behalf of us all – how shall He not, along with Him, freely give us all else?

We should not just arrogantly assume that we are part of this priesthood. We must always remember that is YHVH who chooses this priesthood. Not everyone is chosen to be a priest unto YHVH.
Priesthood carries a price of dying to self and giving your life for others.

1Pe 2:9  But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a set-apart nation, a people for a possession, that you should proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light,
1Pe 2:10  who once were not a people, but now the people of Elohim; who had not obtained compassion, but now obtained compassion.

Deu 7:6  “For you are a set-apart people to יהוה your Elohim. יהוה your Elohim has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a treasured possession above all the peoples on the face of the earth.
Deu 7:7  “יהוה did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more numerous than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples,
Deu 7:8  but because of יהוה loving you, and because of Him guarding the oath which He swore to your fathers, יהוה has brought you out with a strong hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh sovereign of Mitsrayim.

It is important to remember that it is YHVH who does the choosing. We may be desire the priesthood, but we cannot just assume that it is ours without YHVH giving it to us.

See Yoh/John 6:44; Yoh 15:16 and Ex/Shem 19:4-6

Not even Yahshua demanded position and privilege.

Php 2:5  For, let this mind be in you which was also in Messiah יהושע,
Php 2:6  who, being in the form of Elohim, did not regard equality with Elohim a matter to be grasped,
Php 2:7  but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, and came to be in the likeness of men.
Php 2:8  And having been found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, death even of a stake.
Php 2:9  Elohim, therefore, has highly exalted Him and given Him the Name which is above every name,
Php 2:10  that at the Name of יהושע every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
Php 2:11  and every tongue should confess that יהושע Messiah is Master, to the esteem of Elohim the Father.
Php 2:12  So that, my beloved, as you always obeyed – not only in my presence, but now much rather in my absence – work out your own deliverance with fear and trembling,
Php 2:13  for it is Elohim who is working in you1 both to desire and to work for His good pleasure

Are we really willing to be emptied of whatever it is that prevents His fullness from dwelling and controlling our lives?
YHVH is working in us to bring this to pass – Halleluyah! See Phil 1:6

Exo 24:3  And Mosheh came and related to the people all the Words of יהוה and all the right-rulings (mishapatim). And all the people answered with one voice and said, “All the Words which יהוה has spoken we shall do.”

If anyone brings any contrary message than the words Moshe received we are to reject them.
When Yahshua returns, he shall speak the same words as Moshe – see Yesh/Is 2:2-4
When Yahshua was on earth he also spoke the same words as Mosheh – See Matt 5:17-19

Sadly many who call themselves believers have rejected the words of Moshe and in doing so have rejected the words of our Messiah and of the Almighty.

Exo 24:4  And Mosheh wrote down all the Words of יהוה, and rose up early in the morning, and built an altar at the foot of the mountain, and twelve standing columns for the twelve tribes of Yisra’ĕl.

The words of YHVH are supported on the twelve pillars or tribes of Yisrael.

Exo 24:5  And he sent young men of the children of Yisra’ĕl, and they offered burnt offerings and slaughtered peace slaughterings of bulls to יהוה.
Exo 24:6  And Mosheh took half the blood and put it in basins, and half the blood he sprinkled on the altar.
Exo 24:7  And he took the Book of the Covenant and read in the hearing of the people. And they said, “All that יהוה has spoken we shall do, and obey.”
Exo 24:8  And Mosheh took the blood and sprinkled it on the people, and said, “See, the blood of the covenant which יהוה has made with you concerning all these Words.”

1Pe 1:2  chosen according to the foreknowledge of Elohim the Father, set apart by the Spirit unto obedience1 and sprinkling of the blood of יהושע Messiah: Favour and peace be increased to you. Footnote: 1Obedience is also stressed in vv. 14 & 22.

Exo 24:9  And Mosheh went up, also Aharon, Naḏaḇ, and Aḇihu, and seventy of the elders of Yisra’ĕl,
Exo 24:10  and they saw the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, and under His feet like a paved work of sapphire stone, and like the heavens for brightness.
Exo 24:11  Yet He did not stretch out His hand against the chiefs of the children of Yisra’ĕl! And they saw Elohim, and they ate and drank.
Exo 24:12  And יהוה said to Mosheh, “Come up to Me on the mountain and be there, while I give you tablets of stone, and the Torah and the command which I have written, to teach them.”
Exo 24:13  And Mosheh arose with his assistant Yehoshua, and Mosheh went up to the mountain of Elohim.
Exo 24:14  And he said to the elders, “Wait here for us until we come back to you. And see, Aharon and Ḥur are with you. Whoever has matters, let him go to them.”
Exo 24:15  And Mosheh went up into the mountain, and a cloud covered the mountain.
Exo 24:16  And the esteem of יהוה dwelt on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it for six days. And on the seventh day He called to Mosheh out of the midst of the cloud.
Exo 24:17  And the appearance of the esteem of יהוה was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain, before the eyes of the children of Yisra’ĕl.
Exo 24:18  And Mosheh went into the midst of the cloud and went up into the mountain. And it came to be that Mosheh was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

Moshe was sustained supernaturally by YHVH to bring YHVH’s Word to YHVH’s people. The pattern remains true even until our day.

Parashat 18 Portion 61 Shemot/Ex 22:25 – 23:33 Yesh 49:1-6 Yakov/James 2:26-2:4

Exo 22:25 “If you do lend silver to any of My people, the poor among you, you are not to be like one that lends on interest to him. Do not lay interest on him.

The Hebrew word for “interest” is “neshech” means to strike with a sting like a serpent – to bite.
We see how banks and loan sharks impose overwhelming burdens on so many, especially the poor who struggle to repay loans because of the high interest rate.

In Dev/Deut 23:20-21 it is specifically permitted to charge interest (nashach) to a foreigner (nochri). This may include business loans which carry some measure of risk.

Exo 22:26 “If you take your neighbour’s garment as a pledge at all, you are to return it to him before the sun goes down.
Exo 22:27 “For that is his only covering, it is his garment for his skin. What does he sleep in? And it shall be that when he cries to Me, I shall hear, for I show favour.

Covering – “Chesutah” covering used for protection. Note the use of the “ketiv” and “Qere” in the Hebrew text – “Kesuto”

כו  כִּי הִוא כְסוּתֹה לְבַדָּהּ, הִוא שִׂמְלָתוֹ לְעֹרוֹ...
26 for that is her only covering, she is his garment for his skin…
Why femine nouns? There is certainly a deeper Midrash hidden in this verse.

Exo 22:28 “Do not revile an elohim, nor curse a ruler of your people. (The Scriptures 2009)

Here the sages understand “elohim” to mean judges, who speak on YHVH’s behalf (Ex 21:6; 22:8,9)
…” insubordination to YHVH’s appointed leaders is equivalent to insubordination to YHVH Himself.”
Ruler (nasi) – Yahshua was a ruler and yet he was cursed by the people.
(When the context in Hebrew is speaking of the title name of YHVH calling Him the ‘’Mighty One” then it is in Hebrew Elohim, Eloha or El. In all English Bible versions except the Restored Name Versions, it is translated as God.
Sometimes like in the case above the context is speaking of judges but in the Hebrew the word is also elohim. Then we see that the Hebrew word elohim are also used in many cases when it speaks of ‘’false elohim’’, translated as idols or false gods in most Bible versions when the context is speaking of false mighty ones.)

Exo 22:29 “Do not delay giving your harvest and your vintage. Give Me the first-born of your sons.

“Honouring YHVH and His appointed leaders is now linked to giving the first fruits of crops, herds and even the first born of one’s sons (who were redeemed Ex 34:20)
In replacement theology of the emerging church the bishops replaced the “Kohanim” (Priests) with their own priestly order. Today many churches teach that the Torah has been done away with, except the part where it comes to tithing to the church leaders. This does not mean though that spiritual leaders who proclaim the truth about YHVH’s word and His covenant are not entitled to be supported by those whom they teach – see 1 Cor 9

Exo 22:30 “Likewise you are to do with your oxen, with your sheep. It is to be with its mother seven days. On the eighth day, you give it to Me.
Exo 22:31 “And you are set-apart men to Me, and you do not eat any meat which is torn to pieces in the field, you throw it to the dogs.
Exo 23:1 “Do not bring a false report. Do not put your hand with the wrong to be a malicious witness.
Exo 23:2 “Do not follow a crowd to do evil, nor bear witness in a strife so as to turn aside after many, to turn aside what is right.
Exo 23:3 “And do not favour a poor man in his strife.

5 Prohibitions of a witness:

  1. Cannot give unfounded hearsay testimony
  2. Collusion on part of a witness with one of the parties for fraudulent or deceitful purposes is prohibited.
  3. No consideration is to be given to one’s social standing in the judicial process
  4. Not to pervert justice by referring to the majority view, if majority view is wrong.
  5. Cannot favour a poor person just because he is poor.

Exo 23:4 “When you meet your enemy’s ox or his donkey going astray, you shall certainly return it to him.
Exo 23:5 “When you see the donkey of him who hates you lying under its burden, you shall refrain from leaving it to him, you shall certainly help him.

Yahshua taught much on the issue of how to treat our enemies.

Luk 6:26 “Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for thus their fathers did to the false prophets.
Luk 6:27 “But I say to you who are hearing: Love your enemies, do good to those hating you.
Luk 6:28 “Bless those cursing you, and pray for those insulting you.
Luk 6:29 “And to him who hits you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your outer garment, do not withhold the inner garment either.
Luk 6:30 “And give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away what is yours do not ask it back.
Luk 6:31 “And as you wish men should do to you, you also do to them in the same way.
Luk 6:32 “And if you love those loving you, what favour have you? For sinners, too, love those loving them.
Luk 6:33 “And if you do good to those doing good to you, what favour have you? For even sinners do the same.
Luk 6:34 “And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive back, what favour have you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back.
Luk 6:35 “Rather, love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting none in return. And your reward shall be great, and you shall be sons of the Most High. Because He is kind to the thankless and wicked ones.1 Footnote: 1Mt. 5:45, Acts 14:16-17.
Luk 6:36 “Therefore be compassionate, as your Father also is compassionate.

Because you are willing to pay whatever price is necessary for the truth to reach people. Truth is most powerful when one realizes how undeserving one is to receive such goodness and favour. This kind of truth most often requires a selfless messenger who is willing to lay down their lives so that others may receive life.
YHVH is seeking an intercessory remnant that will become one with His son in bringing a lost humanity back to Him.

Quote: ”In idiomatic English, Luke 6:29 might read simply, “Don’t try to get even with evildoers.” Not “competing” with evildoers is very different from not resisting evildoers. Yahshua was not teaching that one should submit to evil, but that one should not seek revenge. Yahshua’ statement has nothing to do with confronting a murderer or facing an enemy on the field of battle. As Proverbs 24:29 says, “Do not say, ‘I will do to him as he has done to me. I will pay the man back for what he has done.’”
English mis-translation of Luke 6:29 has created a theological contradiction, but when Yahshua’ saying is correctly understood, it harmonizes beautifully with other Second writing passages:
See that none of you pays back evil with evil; instead, always try to do good to each other and to all people. (1 Thess 5:15)” end quote.

2Co 4:7 And we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the excellence of the power might be of Elohim, and not of us –
2Co 4:8 being hard pressed on every side,1 but not crushed; being perplexed, but not in despair; Footnote: 1See 1:8.
2Co 4:9 being persecuted, but not forsaken; being thrown down, but not destroyed;
2Co 4:10 always bearing about in the body the dying of the Master יהושע, that the life of יהושע might also be manifested in our body.
2Co 4:11 For we, the living, are always delivered to death for the sake of יהושע, that the life of יהושע might also be manifested in our mortal flesh,
2Co 4:12 so that death indeed is working in us, but the life in you.

How does one know where to draw the line? Midrash. Luke 13:6-9 &

Where are the intercessors?

Isa 59:14 And right-ruling1 (mishpatim) is driven back, and righteousness1 stands far off. For truth has fallen in the street, and right (truth and integrity) is unable to enter. Footnote: 1Amos 5:7.
Isa 59:15 And the truth is lacking, and whoever turns away from evil makes himself a prey. And יהוה saw, and it displeased Him that there was no right-ruling.
Isa 59:16 And He saw that there was no man, and was astonished that there was no intercessor. So His own arm saved for Him, and His righteousness upheld him.

Eze 22:30 “And I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the breach before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it – but I did not find one!
Eze 22:31 “Therefore I have poured out My displeasure on them, I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath. And I have put their way on their own head,” declares the Master יהוה.

Only as the fullness of Messiah is established in us (Eph 4:13) and as we are conformed to his image (Rom 8:29) can we become the kind of intercessors YHVH seeks to bring redemption to the world. This may happen before Messiah returns.

Exo 23:6 “Do not turn aside the right-ruling of your poor in his strife.
Exo 23:7 “Keep yourself far from a false matter, and do not kill the innocent and the righteous, for I do not declare the wrong right.
Exo 23:8 “And do not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the seeing one and twists the words of the righteous.
Exo 23:9 “And do not oppress a sojourner, as you yourselves know the heart of a sojourner, because you were sojourners in the land of Mitsrayim.
Exo 23:10 “And for six years you are to sow your land, and shall gather its increase,
Exo 23:11 but the seventh year you are to let it rest, and shall leave it, and the poor of your people shall eat. And what they leave, the beasts of the field eat. Do the same with your vineyard and your oliveyard.
Exo 23:12 “Six days you are to do your work, and on the seventh day you rest, in order that your ox and your donkey might rest, and the son of your female servant and the sojourner be refreshed.

Exo 23:14 “Three1 times in the year you are to observe a festival to Me: Footnote: 1The Festivals of יהוה are grouped in three, for three different times of the year.
Exo 23:15 “Guard the Festival of Unleavened Bread. Seven days you eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month of Aḇiḇ – for in it you came out of Mitsrayim – and do not appear before Me empty-handed;
Exo 23:16 and the Festival of the Harvest, the first-fruits of your labours which you have sown in the field; and the Festival of the Ingathering at the outgoing of the year, when you have gathered in the fruit of your labours from the field.
Exo 23:17 “Three times in the year all your males are to appear before the Master יהוה.
Exo 23:18 “Do not offer the blood of My slaughtering with leavened bread, and the fat of My offering shall not remain until morning.
Exo 23:19 “Bring the first of the first-fruits of your land into the House of יהוה your Elohim. Do not cook a young goat in its mother’s milk.
Exo 23:20 “See, I am sending a Messenger before you to guard you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.

There is much speculation and differences of opinion regarding the “pre-incarnate” ministry and mission of Yahshua. The book of Hebrews, chapter one plainly states that Yahshua is superior to the Messengers. Note also how the translation uses a capital “M” in “messengers” this distinction does not appear in the Hebrew text.
It is logical to assume that if Yahshua was this special “Messenger” he would not have failed in his task to bring the children of Yisrael into the land of Yisrael to be established in YHVH’s Torah, forever and ever. We know this will only happen in the future when the Messiah returns.

Exo 23:21 “Be on guard before Him and obey His voice. Do not rebel against Him, for He is not going to pardon your transgression, for My Name is in Him.
Exo 23:22 “But if you diligently obey His voice and shall do all that I speak, then I shall be an enemy to your enemies and a distresser to those who distress you.

Heb 1:13 And to which of the messengers did He ever say, “Sit at My right hand, until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet”?
Heb 1:14 Are they not all serving spirits sent out to attend those who are about to inherit deliverance?

Exo 23:23 “For My Messenger shall go before you and shall bring you in to the Amorites and the Ḥittites and the Perizzites and the Kenaʽanites and the Ḥiwwites and the Yeḇusites, and I shall cut them off.
Exo 23:24 “Do not bow down to their mighty ones, nor serve them, nor do according to their works, but without fail overthrow them and without fail break down their pillars.
Exo 23:25 “And you shall serve יהוה your Elohim, and He shall bless your bread and your water. And I shall remove sickness from your midst.
Exo 23:26 “None shall miscarry or be barren in your land. I shall fill the number of your days.
Exo 23:27 “I shall send My fear before you, and cause confusion among all the people to whom you come, and make all your enemies turn their backs to you.
Exo 23:28 “And I shall send hornets before you, which shall drive out the Ḥiwwite, the Kenaʽanite, and the Ḥittite from before you.

Exo 23:30 “Little by little I shall drive them out from before you, until you have increased, and you inherit the land.
Exo 23:31 “And I shall set your border from the Sea of Reeds to the Sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the River, for I shall give the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you shall drive them out before you.
Exo 23:32 “Do not make a covenant with them nor with their mighty ones.
Exo 23:33 “Let them not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against Me when you serve their mighty ones, when it becomes a snare to you.”
