Parashat 14 Portion 53 ‘’Va Yera’’ Ex 7:8 – 8:15 Joel 3:3-4:6, 16

Blessed are You YHVH our Elohim - Creator of the universe, whose blessings have come to rest upon us through Moshiach Ben David – The Tree of Life – who establishes the everlasting root and fruit of Your Torah in our lives and in this age and in the age to come and through which all the families of the earth are blessed forever and ever.

Please, YHVH, our Elohim, sweeten the words of Your Torah in our hearts and in the hearts of Your people, the family of Israel. May we and our offspring and the offspring of Your people, the house of Jacob – and all Jacob’s adopted family – know Your Name and study Your Torah, for the sake of the Torah- empowering us to sincerely love one another and to love You above all. Please uncover our eyes and open our hearts that we may carefully examine and understand the marvels and mysteries of Your Torah- Amein.

כי ידבר (vs 9) ‘’when he will speak’’ the most powerful human leader on earth spoke then and he will speak again in the last days.

Our previous Torah portion (Portion 52) YHVH introduces Moses  to His covenant name ‘’ And Elohim spoke to Mosheh and said to him, “I am יהוה.’’ (I will do whatever I need to do to save My people from complete destruction)

This week’s Torah portion (Portion 53) Pharoah and his demonic magicians challenge YHVH’s authority and ability to save His people from complete annihilation –

In the last days the anti-Christ and all the demons of hell will team up and attempt to ‘’finish the job’’ that Pharoah and others like him throughout history have attempted but failed to finish.

A prophetic word of warning: this final attempt to destroy YHVH’s people may appear at times to have almost succeeded.

Exo 7:8  And יהוה spoke to Mosheh and to Aharon, saying,

Ex 7:9  ‘When Pharaoh speaks to you, saying, ‘Show a miracle for yourselves,’

In the last days YHVH will once again produce two witnesses to challenge a ‘’Pharaohs arrogance”

Rev 11:3  “And I shall give unto my two witnesses, (possibly Moses and Elijah) and they shall prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clad in sackcloth.”

Rev 11:4  These are the two olive trees Ezk_4:3 and the two lampstands that are standing before the Elohim of the earth.

Rev 11:5  And if anyone wishes to harm them, fire comes out from their mouth and consumes their enemies. And if anyone wishes to harm them, he has to be killed in that way.

Rev 11:6  These possess authority to shut the heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy.  And they possess authority over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they wish.

Rev 11:7  And when they have ended their witness, the beast coming up out of the pit of the deep shall fight against them, and overcome them, and kill them,

Rev 11:8  and their dead bodies lie in the street of the great city (Jerusalem)which spiritually is called Seom and Mitsrayim, where also our Master was impaled,

Rev 11:9  and some of the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations see their dead bodies for three and a half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be placed into tombs,

Rev 11:10  and those dwelling on the earth rejoice over them and exult. And they shall send gifts to each other, because these two prophets tortured those dwelling on the earth.

Rev 11:11  And after the three and a half days a spirit of life from Elohim entered into them, and they stood upon their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. (Scholars believe this co insides with the first resurrection some believers call the rapture)

Exo 7:9  “When Pharaoh speaks to you, saying, ‘Show a miracle for yourselves,’ then you shall say to Aharon, ‘Take your rod (symbol of divine authority) and throw it before Pharaoh, and let it become a serpent.’ ”

In the last days Satan will do ‘’great signs’’

Rev 13:13  And he does great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from the heaven on the earth before men.

Rev 19:20  And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he led astray those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshipped his image. The two were thrown alive into the lake of fire burning with sulphur.

YHVH shortens this final period of persecution - Mat 24:22  “And if those days were not shortened, no flesh would be saved, but for the sake of the chosen ones those days shall be shortened. (Bowls of wrath – Rev 16)

Exo 7:10  So Mosheh and Aharon went in to Pharaoh, and they did so, as יהוה commanded. And Aharon threw his rod before Pharaoh and before his servants, and it became a serpent.

Exo 7:11  But Pharaoh also called the wise men and the practisers of witchcraft. And they, the magicians of Mitsrayim, also did so with their magic.

Exo 7:12  And they, each one, threw down his rod, and they became serpents. But the rod of Aharon swallowed up their rods.

Exo 7:13  And Pharaoh’s heart was strengthened, and he did not listen to them, as יהוה had said.

First, YHVH reveals His true Covenant identity to His prophets. Then, Pharoah challenges YHVH’s covenant identity and authority by using occultic power and forces of darkness that Pharoah firmly believes are superior to YHVH’s authority – in the last days these same forces of darkness are convinced that they will finally succeed where Pharoah and others like him, have failed to completely destroy a people who carry YHVH’s covenant promise - it is profoundly astonishing that there exists in the world today a demonic agenda that is determined and extremely confident that the time has come to finally destroy YHVH’s presence from this earth along with everyone who in any way shape or form joined to YHVH’s and His people.

The ancient Hebrew prophets inform us that this diabolical agenda will appear at times to have ‘’almost’’ succeeded – Isa 1:9  Unless יהוה of hosts had left to us a small remnant, we would have become like Seom, we would have been made like Amorah. (Is 6:12,13 – Zech 13:8,9 – Is 13:12 – Jer 30:11) This is what is going to make the last days so terrifying for those who don’t understand how YHVH makes a complete end of His enemies. We must take careful note that is by no means a ‘’fair contest’’ – Satan doesn’t have a ‘’snowballs hope in hell’’ of presenting any form of challenge to YHVH’s authority.

Commentators like the Ramban emphasize that the enemy's challenge was an intentional test allowed by YHVH. YHVH gave the magicians just enough leeway to mimic the first two plagues so that Pharaoh's heart would harden, ensuring that when their final defeat came, the entire world would see how pathetic and impotent Pharoah and his demonic systems truly are.

Isa 14:16  “Those who see you stare at you, and ponder over you, saying, ‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook reigns,

In these last days we are witnessing a repeat of this ancient demonic challenge.

YHVH’s selection of judgments then and in the last days are not co incidental or random, they are strategically aimed at dismantling and destroying every dark force that has been instrumental in attempting to destroy and keep YHVH’s chosen people in bondage.

The foundation of this ‘’challenge’’ is firmly revealed by the very first contest – ‘’The rod transformed into a serpent’’ Ex 7:8-13.

It is not by accident that the gematria of ‘’serpent’’ or ‘’nachash’’ in Hebrew is 358 – the same gematria as ‘’Moshiach’’ in Hebrew. It is also not by accident that this same pattern is repeated in the last days –-

Rev 12:9  And the great dragon was thrown out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who leads all the world astray. He was thrown to the earth, and his messengers were thrown out with him –

It is important to note that the Greek word ‘’kosmos’’ (or world) is not used here – instead the Greek word ‘’oikomenon’’ is used meaning  ‘’the inhabited, organized systems of humanity, rather than the physical globe itself’’

All of YHVH’s people have been captured by the ‘’ organized systems of humanity’’ in this world.

Understanding that the Israelites were Pharaoh's legal property gives deep meaning to the Hebrew concept of Redemption (Geulah) – The Redeemer - “the act of buying back."

2Co 4:4  in whom the god of this world (Greek ‘’aion’’ or age) hath blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Goodnews of the esteem of Messiah, who is the image of YHVH, should not shine upon upon them

The "God of this Age" (Aion): In 2 Corinthians 4:4, the Apostle Paul uses the Greek word aion (age/era) rather than kosmos (the physical world).

This implies that Satan’s authority is strictly temporary and bound by time. He governs the current moral, philosophical, and spiritual system of an unredeemed, humanity.

Even the faithful end time remnant will be captured by this evil world system and will need to be redeemed and set free from its bondage.

Jer 50:20  “In those days and at that time,” declares יהוה, “the crookedness of Yisra’ěl shall be searched for, but there shall be none; and the sin of Yehuah, but none shall be found. For I shall pardon those whom I leave as a remnant.

Yes, Jeremiah 50:20 means that even the most faithful, preserved remnant still possesses a baseline of iniquity that requires radical divine redemption. This shatters the misconception that some groups escape the fire because they are naturally better than others.

Even, the 144,000 refined "firstfruits" in Revelation are called "blameless" (Revelation 14:5), but the text carefully notes they were "redeemed from the earth" and "purchased" (Revelation 14:3-4). Their blamelessness is a direct product of the Redeemers (Geulah’s) payment, not their own intrinsic nature.

The Apostle Paul was a master of both Torah law and Greco-Roman legal systems. When he describes what Yahshua accomplished by His death, he clearly explains in religious terms the real-world legal system of how slaves could gain their freedom.

His primary word for this is Apolytrosis (απολύτρωσις), a technical term in the ancient Greco-Roman world that literally meant "buying back a slave through the payment of a ransom."

Paul applies this exact legal structure to the execution of Messiah in 1 Corinthians 6:20: "For you were bought with a price; therefore esteem YHVH in your body." He repeats this in 1 Corinthians 7:23: "You were bought with a price; do not become slaves of men" (or their religious systems) The "price" paid was the life of Messiah to set us free.

In Colossians 2:14, Paul explains how the old master's right of possession (Pharoah and the anti christ) will be cancelled, He writes that Yahshua "...cancelled the handwritten bill of debt because of our disobedience that accuses us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross." Please note it is absurd and wicked to suggest the Yahshua nailed the Torah to the cross. Yahshua paid the penalty that the law (Torah) demanded for the violation of its laws. Torah is the supreme law of the universe – violating any part if it brings ‘’imprisonment’’ for the offender. Yahshua took the judgment for that imprisonment upon himself – it is handwritten because Torah scrolls were all handwritten – violation of any part of the Torah incurred severe cursing and death – See Deut 28 and Num 26.

We should stop ‘’messing around’’ and take YHVH’s laws and the penalty incurred for violating His laws very seriously – however the majority of mankind don’t think its that serious breaking a ‘’little’’ commandment here and there. Yahshua warns us in this regard when he says –

Mat 5:27  “You heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ Exo_20:14, Deu_5:18

Mat 5:28  “But I say to you that everyone looking at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Mat 5:29  “And if your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is better for you that one of your members perish, than for your entire body to be thrown into GěHinnom.

Mat 5:30  “And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away from you. For it is better for you that one of your members perish, than for your entire body to be thrown into GěHinnom.

Pirkei Avot 1:1 says: “Make a fence around the Torah.”

This means taking precautions to avoid even getting close to violating YHVH's commandments. Matthew 5:29–30 can be understood in a similar way: remove or avoid whatever repeatedly leads you toward wrongdoing.

The idea is to avoid circumstances or behavior that could lead to violating a Torah commandment. Yahshua’s' teaching in Matthew 5 can be understood as intensifying the command by addressing the roots and pathways leading toward transgressing the Torah.

Rabbinic literature also sometimes uses strong, hyperbolic language to emphasize the seriousness of avoiding wrongdoing. However, Jewish interpretation generally did not treat such moral warnings as instructions for literal self-injury. Jesus' language is commonly understood similarly—as forceful Semitic hyperbole emphasizing decisive rejection of what leads a person into sin.

If there is no redemption for violating YHVH’s laws – we will all have to face the severe consequence of our transgression.

Rom 7:23  but I see another torah in my members, battling against the torah of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the torah of sin which is in my members.

Rom 7:25  Thanks to Elohim, through יהושע Messiah our Master! So then, with the mind I myself truly serve the Torah of Elohim, but with the flesh the torah of sin.

The Torah was given to show us the exceeding sinfulness of sin – Rom 7:13

Rom 7:23  but I see another torah in my members, battling against the torah of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the torah of sin which is in my members.

The First Plague: Water Turned to Blood

Exo 7:14  And יהוה said to Mosheh, “The heart of Pharaoh is hard, he refuses to let the people go.

Exo 7:15  “Go to Pharaoh in the morning, as he goes out to the water, and you shall stand by the river’s bank to meet him. And take in your hand the rod which was turned into a serpent.

Exo 7:16  “And you shall say to him, ‘יהוה the Elohim of the Hebrews has sent me to you, saying, “Let My people go, so that they serve Me in the wilderness,” but see, until now you have not listened!

Exo 7:17  ‘Thus said יהוה, “By this you know that I am יהוה. See, I am striking the waters which are in the river with the rod that is in my hand, and they shall be turned to blood,

Exo 7:18  and the fish in the river shall die. And the river shall stink, and the Mitsrites shall find it impossible to drink the water of the river.” ’ ”

Exo 7:19  And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, “Say to Aharon, ‘Take your rod and stretch out your hand over the waters of Mitsrayim, over their streams, over their rivers, over their ponds, and over all their pools of water, that they become blood. And there shall be blood in all the land of Mitsrayim, both in wooden and in stone containers.’ ”

Exo 7:20  And Mosheh and Aharon did so, as יהוה commanded. And he lifted up the rod and struck the waters that were in the river, in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of his servants. And all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.

Exo 7:21  And the fish that were in the river died, and the river stank, and the Mitsrites were unable to drink the water of the river. And the blood was in all the land of Mitsrayim.

Exo 7:22  And the magicians of Mitsrayim did the same with their magic. And the heart of Pharaoh was strengthened, and he did not listen to them, as יהוה had said.

Exo 7:23  And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, and his heart was not moved by this either.

Exo 7:24  And all the Mitsrites dug all around the river for water to drink, for they were unable to drink the water of the river.

Exo 7:25  And seven days were completed after יהוה had struck the river.

In ancient Egypt, the Nile River was not just a body of water; it was considered the literal heartbeat of the empire and was personified by powerful water spirits and gods. Turning the water to blood directly targeted and defeated these spirits

 The Second Plague: Frogs

Exo 8:1  And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Thus said יהוה, “Let My people go, so that they serve Me.

Exo 8:2  “But if you refuse to let them go, see, I am smiting all your border with frogs.

Exo 8:3  “And the river shall swarm with frogs, which shall go up and shall come into your house, and into your bedroom, and on your bed, and into the houses of your servants, and on your people, and into your ovens, and into your kneading bowls,

Exo 8:4  and the frogs shall come up on you and on your people and on all your servants.” ’ ”

Exo 8:5  And יהוה said to Mosheh, “Say to Aharon, ‘Stretch out your hand with your rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up on the land of Mitsrayim.’ ”

Exo 8:6  So Aharon stretched out his hand over the waters of Mitsrayim, and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Mitsrayim.

Exo 8:7  And the magicians did so with their magic, and brought up frogs on the land of Mitsrayim.

Exo 8:8  Pharaoh then called for Mosheh and Aharon, and said, “Pray to יהוה to take away the frogs from me and from my people, and I shall let the people go to slaughter to יהוה.”

Exo 8:9  And Mosheh said to Pharaoh, “Explain yourself to me: When am I to pray for you, and for your servants, and for your people, to destroy the frogs from you and your houses, and remain only in the river?”

Exo 8:10  So he said, “Tomorrow.” And he said, “Let it be according to your word, so that you know that there is no one like יהוה our Elohim.

Exo 8:11  “And the frogs shall turn aside from you, and from your houses, and from your servants, and from your people – they shall remain in the river only.”

Exo 8:12  And Mosheh and Aharon went out from Pharaoh. And Mosheh cried out to יהוה concerning the frogs which He had brought against Pharaoh.

Exo 8:13  And יהוה did according to the word of Mosheh. And the frogs died out of the houses, out of the courtyards, and out of the fields.

Exo 8:14  And they gathered them together in heaps, and the land stank.

Exo 8:15  And when Pharaoh saw that there was relief, he hardened his heart and did not listen to them, as יהוה had said.

The plagues forced the Egyptians to look at their sacred symbols and demon gods with horror. For example, frogs were considered so holy that harming them was a crime, yet the second plague forced the Egyptians to pile up millions of rotting, frogs throughout the land.

So, YHVH says if you want worship frogs, I will give you millions of them to worship.

Was YHVH being evil? No, He was merely giving them the thing they greatly desired and worshipped.

Psalm 106:15: “And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.”

Sadly, this verse is not directed to the Egyptians but to the grumbling Israelites in the wilderness, but the same principle applies to everyone.

Why is this Torah portion so important for believers in Yahshua?

Because the teachings and doctrines of the early believers came from the Torah and were explained and elevated in the apostolic writings.

Act 24:14  “And this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the Elohim of my fathers, Exo_3:15 believing all that has been written in the Torah and in the Prophets,

 No Other Gospel

Gal 1:6  I marvel that you are so readily turning away from Him who called you in the favour of Messiah, to a different ‘Good News,’a Footnote: a 2Co_11:4.

Gal 1:7  which is not another, only there are some who are troubling you and wishing to pervert the Good News of Messiah.

Gal 1:8  However, even if we, or a messenger out of heaven, bring a ‘Good News’ to you beside what we announced to you, let him be accursed.

Gal 1:9  As we have said before, and now I say again, if anyone brings a ‘Good News’ to you beside what you have received, let him be accursed.

Gal 1:10  For do I now persuade men, or Elohim? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I should not be a servant of Messiah.

Paul went on to urge unity in the Body of Messiah

Eph 4:1  I call upon you therefore, I the prisoner of the Master, to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called,

Eph 4:2  with all humility and meekness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,

Eph 4:3  being eager to guard the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace –

Eph 4:4  one body and one Spirit, as you also were called in one expectation of your calling,

Eph 4:5  one Master, one belief, one immersion,

Eph 4:6  one Elohim and Father of all, who is above all,a and through all, and in you all.

There is not a Jewish way and a Christian way of getting saved and liberated from this world system.

Scripture explicitly rejects the idea of a "dual-covenant" theology—the belief that Jewish people are saved through keeping the Law of Moses while Gentiles are saved through Christ.

According to biblical doctrine, there is only one way of salvation, justification, and liberation from the world system for both Jews and Gentiles alike: through faith in Yahshua the Messiah – who has redeemed us the curse of the Law – we brought upon ourselves by our disobedience to the Torah – Gal 3:13

Gal 2:16  knowing that a man is not declared right by works of Torah, but through belief in יהושע Messiah, even we have believed in Messiah יהושע, in order to be declared right by belief in Messiah and not by works of Torah, because by works of Torah no flesh shall be declared right.

Blessed are you YHVH, our Elohim, King of the Universe, you have given us your Torah of truth and have planted everlasting life within our midst. Blessed are you, YHVH giver of the Torah – Amein.

Parashat 14 Portion 52 ‘’Va Yera’’ – ‘’And I appeared’’Ex 6:2- 7:7 Is 42:8-16 +21

Please uncover our eyes and open our hearts that we may carefully examine and understand the marvels and mysteries of Your Torah- Amein.

Exo 6:2  And Elohim spoke to Mosheh and said to him, “I am יהוה

Exo 6:3  “And I appeared to Araham, to Yitsaq, and to Ya‛aqo, as Ěl Shaddai. And by My Name, יהוה, was I not known to them?

In Hebrew, the root word Shad (שַׁד) literally means "breast’’ It signifies infinite nourishment, fertility, and protective care.

This is the level of knowing YHVH that most people (including believers) are familiar with.

This Torah portion is about knowing YHVH at a deeper level in the deepest way possible.

וארא אל־אברהם – ‘’and I appeared’’ - By starting the portion here, the scribe reminds the reader that YHVH is about to make a paradigm shift in the way He desires to relate and reveal Himself to man and the most intimate way man can get to know YHVH.

Va'era el-Avraham ("And I appeared...") introduces this paradigm shift. By identifying His name ‘’YHVH’’ as something not yet known by the Patriarchs (Exodus 6:3), YHVH will now make His Name known to Israel.

YHVH (יהוה) is His chosen covenant name. In fact, from a Hebraic and textual perspective, it is the only true personal Name He chooses for Himself, while terms like El Shaddai, Elohim, or Adonai function primarily as descriptions, attributes, or titles of function.

In Ex 3:14 YHVH says to Moses His Name is ‘’eheyeh ’asher ’eheyeh’’ ‘’I will be what I will be’’ or ‘’I will become whatever I need to become in order to establish My everlasting covenant with you’’

In Ex 3:15 YHVH says ‘’This is My Name forever, and this is My remembrance to all generations.’’

This is the Name by which the Creator desires to be remembered by all nations.

We need to shift away from the controversies that surround the pronunciations and insistence of calling YHVH ‘’Ha Shem’’ His Name was never intended to be about linguistic correctness – but always about Covenant reality.

The verbal root of YHVH is ‘’havah’’ - to exist. ‘’Havah’ can also mean to destroy. This is the paradox of His name – The Almighty will cause to exist or destroy – in order to establish an everlasting covenant with all those who receive and cultivate His calling.

This vebal root (Havah) has a Hiphil (causative) stem in the imperfect (future/ongoing) aspect, it means “He will cause to to exist" what needs to exist or "He will cause to be destroyed" what needs to be destroyed to establish His eternal unbrekable covenant.

As marriage is the most intimate covenant that a husband and wife can enter – so is entering into covenant with YHVH the most intimate way of getting to know our Creator.

The one was meant to reflect the other.

Man was unable to initiate and sustain this covenant with YHVH.

We learn in Gen 15 how YHVH initiates and sustains an everlasting covenant connection with man and Himself when He enters into the covenant with Abram.

The covenant is ratified in Genesis 15:18 ‘’On the same day יהוה made a covenant with Aram.’’ It is called the Abrahamic Covenant – and it is unique because it is a ‘’unilateral, unconditional everlasting covenant where YHVH binds Himself alone to the terms, protecting man from the risk of failure.’’

Every Covenant in the Bible Explained One Story Changes Everything

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJxMMlhgoP4

For this reason, YHVH puts Abram into a deep sleep when He makes this covenant – because YHVH knows that man on his own is unable to keep the terms of His covenant. YHVH can only make this covenant universal and unbreakable when He finds the perfect covenant partner – and YHVH finds only one man worthy to enter into this covenant relationship – Yahshua the Messiah. Thus initiating the covenant that opens the door for the rest of mankind to enter into the same unbreakable covenant.

I realize there are many different views regarding how this covenant works – this is my limited understanding but deep conviction of how covenant life works. However, the day will come Jer 31:33 when man undergoes an inner transformation that will enable him to preserve the eternal unbreakable covenant YHVH made with mankind.

Jer 31:33  “For this is the covenant I shall make with the house of Yisra’ěl after those days, declares יהוה: I shall put My Torah in their inward parts, and write it on their hearts. And I shall be their Elohim, and they shall be My people.

Now Messiah is the only One who qualified to secure this eternal covenant with YHVH his Creator on our behalf. Messiah is also the only one who can bear the penalty when man violates that covenant.

‘’The Messiah did not break the covenant with YHVH – He never has or never will. He was the perfect Passover lamb – the only One who could take upon Himself the penalty of man’s inability to keep covenant faithfulness – Yahshua kept covenant faithfulness with YHVH on our behalf.’’ Acknowledging this reality only by His Mercy opens the door for us to enter into the same eternal unbreakable covenant with YHVH as did Messiah’’.

Acts 4:12: “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Colossians 1:14:In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.”

Acts 13:38: “Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins.”

Instead of breaking the covenant, the Messiah was enduring the covenant penalty on behalf of all mankind that were unable to honour that covenant.

What makes this Torah portion so amazing is that YHVH revealed this covenant promise to a gentile before revealing it to His chosen first born son – Israel.

‘’The Kenite-Midianite Hypothesis is a highly respected academic and historical theory. It suggests that YHVH was worshiped by the Kenites/Midianites long before Moses arrived – Wikipedia

The name "Kenite" (Qeni) is etymologically tied to Cain (Qayin). This means the bearers of the Name were historically linked to the ultimate outcast wanderer. YHVH took the mark of Cain and transformed it into a legacy priesthood that joined the ‘’outsiders’’ through the same covenant to become fellow citizens of the commonwealth of Israel.

Isa 66:21  “And from them too I shall take for priests (‘’Kohanim’’) for Lěwites,” declares יהוה.’’

‘’The Druze Connection:  is a stunning historical reality. The Druze community explicitly venerates Jethro as their chief prophet, whom they call Nabi Shuaib. They trace their spiritual lineage directly to him, and their practice of strict endogamy (not marrying outside the faith) that has preserved a highly unique ethnic and spiritual capsule for thousands of years.’’

"Elijah the Tishbite" (1 Kings 17:1), according to Jewish traditions and scholars have often noted Elijah’s distinctively "Kenite" characteristics:

He bypassed the established Levitical priesthood and temple structures.

He dressed in rough garments, lived in the wilderness, and fled directly back to Mount Horeb (1Kings 19) the exact place where Moses first encountered YHVH alongside Jethro.

If Elijah carries that Kenite "outsider" spirit, it makes perfect sense that he is the one chosen to break the institutionalized religious stagnation of Israel and the Church and prepare the way for the return of the Messiah bringing covenant restoration.

Mal 4:4  “Remember the Torah of Mosheh, My servant, which I commanded him in orě for all Yisra’ěl – laws and right-rulings.

Mal 4:5  “See, I am sending you Ěliyah the prophet before the coming of the great and awesome day of יהוה

Mal 4:6  “And he shall turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with utter destruction.

Mar 9:11  And they asked Him, saying, “Why do the scribes (The Mishnah (Eduyot 8:7)) say that Ěliyahu has to come first?”

Mar 9:12  And He said to them, "Ěliyahu indeed, having come first, restores all matters.b And how has it been written concerning the Son of Aam, that He is to suffer much and be despised? Footnote: bSee Mat_17:11 and Act_3:21

Mar 9:13  “But I say to you that even Ěliyahu has come, and they did to him whatever they wished, as it has been written of him. (referring to John the immerser)

Numbers 10:31 and Rashi's commentary is the crowning jewel of this hypothesis. When Moses begs Jethro's son/lineage (Hobab) not to leave them, saying, "...you shall be our eyes," it is written in the future tense.

Rashi's translation—"if anything should be hidden from our eyes, you will enlighten us"—takes on an astonishing prophetic reality under this framework. There are several scholars that believe the descendants of Jethro hold a hidden key to the end-times restoration of all things – Acts 3:21.

If the Kenites originally helped guide Israel into the first covenant environment of the wilderness, it is profoundly poetic that they would serve as the "eyes" to help guide the final, global gathering of the exiles back to the land.

If an end-time generation is to witness the realization of this dynamic during the final, global gathering of the exiles back to the land (the "Second Exodus" prophesied in Isaiah 11:11–16 and Ezekiel 20), this "Kenite reality" can be expected to manifest in three profound ways:

1.      The Survivalists of the "Wilderness of the Peoples" - Ezekiel 20:35 states: “And I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I will plead My case with you face to face”.

‘’The "Kenites" of the end-time generation will be individuals, groups, or communities who—though they may not be physical, biological Israel—possess the logistical, tactical, and survivalist "eyes" to navigate collapsing infrastructure. They will act as literal guides, protectors, and provisioners for the fleeing remnant’’

 2.      The Spiritual Archetype of the "Rechabite" Mindset

‘’The most famous sub-clan of the Kenites in scripture is the Rechabites (descendants of Jonadab, son of Rechab). In Jeremiah 35, YHVH praises them because they completely rejected the luxury, wine, and permanent real estate of settled society to live strictly as nomads in tents, keeping their father's vows intact for centuries.

  • The Realization: An end-time generation will face an intensely seductive, highly centralized global economic system (often referred to typologically as Babylon).
  • The Kenite Role: The modern "Kenite/Rechabite" framework represents believers who deliberately choose a lifestyle of radical simplicity, detachment from materialism, and spiritual sobriety. Because their "eyes" are not blinded by the comforts of the world, they will possess the clear prophetic vision needed to identify spiritual traps, helping the scattered exiles sever ties with corrupt systems and transition into a mobile, wilderness-ready posture.’’

 3.       Geopolitical "Eyes" and Righteous Gentile Alliances

‘’ Historically, the Kenites chose to tie their destiny to Israel out of sheer covenant loyalty (Hesed), even though they were legally outsiders. They provided crucial military intelligence (such as Jael the Kenite killing Sisera in Judges 4) and tactical support.

·         The Realization: In Jewish commentary (such as the Talmudic links explored regarding the Kenites and groups like the modern Druze who claim Jethro as their prophet), there is an active recognition of non-Jewish indigenous groups who serve in Israel's security and military frameworks as literal "eyes" on the ground.

·         The Kenite Role: In the final gathering, this will manifest as a global network of Righteous Gentiles. These are individuals placed strategically within international governments, intelligence networks, and logistical sectors who will use their positioning, resources, and "eyes" to orchestrate, fund, protect, and legally pave the way for the exiles to safely cross borders and return home against all geopolitical odds’’

Human boasting and pride is destroyed  by showing that the most sacred name of God (YHVH) does not belong exclusively to any institutionalized group, this hypothesis completely levels the playing field of grace.’’

‘’The single most important, set apart event in the entire Hebrew Bible is the giving of the Torah (Matan Torah) in Exodus 19–20 and appears the portion named after Jethro (Parashat Yitro), a gentile Midianite priest.’’ The 10 sayings describe and define the eternal unbreakable covenant.

Exo 6:2  And Elohim spoke to Mosheh and said to him, “I am יהוה

Exo 6:3  “And I appeared וארא אל־אברהם to Araham, to Yitsaq, and to Ya‛aqo, as Ěl Shaddai. And by My Name, יהוה, was I not known to them?

Exo 6:4  “And I also (adverb -‘’ve gam’’) established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Kena‛an, the land of their sojournings, in which they have sojourned.

’ve-gam’’ is a structural bridge acknowledging a pre-existing, universal Yahwist covenant reality—one that includes Jethro and the Kenites.

This explains the unusual sequence of events when Jethro later enters the Israelite camp in Exodus 18.

Jethro doesn't come to be converted; he comes as an equal or superior spiritual authority.

He offers sacrifices to Elohim, and Moses, Aaron, and all the elders of Israel sit down to eat bread with him "before YHVH" (Exodus 18:12).

In the ancient Near East, eating a sacrificial meal together is the formal, legal ratification of a covenant.

After Israel was delivered from Egyptian bondage – Moses and Aharon came with all the elders of Yisra’ěl to eat bread with the father-in-law of Mosheh before Elohim -

Exo 18:8  And Mosheh told his father-in-law all that יהוה had done to Pharaoh and to the Mitsrites for Yisra’ěl’s sake, all the hardship that had come upon them on the way, and how יהוה had delivered them.

Exo 18:9  And Yithro rejoiced for all the good which יהוה had done for Yisra’ěl, whom He had delivered out of the hand of the Mitsrites.

Exo 18:10  And Yithro said, “Blessed be יהוה, who has delivered you out of the hand of the Mitsrites and out of the hand of Pharaoh, and who has delivered the people from under the hand of the Mitsrites.

Exo 18:11  “Now I know that יהוה is greater than all the mighty ones, indeed in the matter in which they acted proudly, above them.”

Exo 18:12  Then Yithro, the father-in-law of Mosheh, brought an ascending offering and other slaughterings unto Elohim. And Aharon came with all the elders of Yisra’ěl to eat bread with the father-in-law of Mosheh before Elohim. (Is 66:21)

Exo 18:13  And it came to be, on the next day, that Mosheh sat to rightly rule the people. And the people stood before Mosheh from morning until evening.

Exo 18:14  And when the father-in-law of Mosheh saw all that he did for the people, he said, “What is this that you are doing for the people? Why do you sit by yourself, and all the people stand before you from morning until evening?”

Exo 18:15  And Mosheh said to his father-in-law, “Because the people come to me to seek Elohim.

Exo 18:16  “When they have a matter, they come to me, and I rightly rule between one and another, and make known the laws of Elohim and His Torot.”a Footnote: aTorot - plural of Torah, teaching.

Exo 18:17  And the father-in-law of Mosheh said to him, “What you are doing is not good.

Exo 18:18  “Both you and these people with you shall certainly wear yourselves out. For the matter is too heavy for you. You are not able to do it by yourself.

Exo 18:19  “Now listen to my voice. Let me counsel you and Elohim be with you: Stand before Elohim for the people, and you shall bring the matters to Elohim.

Exo 18:20  “And you shall enlighten them concerning the laws and the Torot, and show them the way in which they should walk and the work which they do.

Exo 18:21  “But you yourself, seek out from all the people able men, who fear Elohim, men of truth, hating unfair gain. And place these over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

Exo 18:22  “And they shall rightly rule the people at all times. And it shall be that they bring every great matter to you, but they themselves rightly rule every small matter. So, make it lighter for yourself, for they shall bear with you.

Exo 18:23  “If you do this word, and Elohim shall command you, then you shall be able to stand and all this people also go to their place in peace.”

Exo 18:24  And Mosheh listened to the voice of his father-in-law and did all that he said.

Exo 6:5  “And I have also (also (adverb -‘’ve gam’’) heard the groaning of the children of Yisra’ěl whom the Mitsrites are enslaving, and I have remembered My covenant.

Ex 6:5 starts of again with ‘’ve gam’’ - this shows that YHVH is not favouring one group above the other - he is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34) YHVH is now ready to introduce Israel to His Covenant Name – the same covenant that would be entrusted to Israel for preservation and safe keeping.

‘’YHVH is levelling the field of grace. He isn't acting because Israel is superior, genetically pure, or religiously perfect. He is acting because He is the Hiphil imperfect Verb who promised He would act.’’ I will become whatever I need to become to establish My covenant with all nations.’’

However, Exo 4:22  “And you shall say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus said יהוה, “Yisra’ěl is My son, My first-born.

Rom 3:1  What then is the advantage of the Yehui, or what is the value of the circumcision?

Rom 3:2  Much in every way! Because firstly indeed, that they were entrusted with the Words of Elohim.

Amos 3:2 — Israel is uniquely “known” by YHVH.

Rom 9:4  who are the children of Yisra’ěl, to whom is the adoption, and the esteem, and the covenants, and the giving of the Torah, and the worship, and the promises,

Rom 9:5  whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Messiah according to the flesh, who is over all, Elohim-blessed forever. Aměn.

Exo 6:6  “Say, therefore, to the children of Yisra’ěl, (including adopted gentiles who have taken the yoke of Torah upon themselves) ‘I am יהוה, and I shall bring you out from under the burdens of the Mitsrites,(evil world system) and shall deliver you from their enslaving, and shall redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments,

Exo 6:7  and shall take you as My people, and I shall be your Elohim. And you shall know that I am יהוה your Elohim who is bringing you out from under the burdens of the Mitsrites.

Exo 6:8  ‘And I shall bring you into the land which I swore to give to Araham, to Yitsaq, and to Ya‛aqo, to give it to you as an inheritance. I am יהוה.’”

Exodus 6:6–8 is traditionally connected with the Four Cups of wine at the Passover Seder.

The four cups are associated with four expressions of redemption in God's promise to Israel:

1.      “I will bring you out” — Exodus 6:6
Hebrew: וְהוֹצֵאתִי (v’hotzeiti)
 Cup of Sanctification

2.      “I will deliver you” — Exodus 6:6
Hebrew: וְהִצַּלְתִּי (v’hitzalti)
Cup of Deliverance

3.      “I will redeem you” — Exodus 6:6
Hebrew: וְגָאַלְתִּי (v’ga'alti)
Cup of Redemption

4.      “I will take you as My people” — Exodus 6:7
Hebrew: וְלָקַחְתִּי (v’lakachti)

 Cup of Acceptance/Relationship

The passage continues with another promise:

“I will bring you into the land…” — Exodus 6:8

This is sometimes associated with a fifth cup, the Cup of Elijah, because the promise concerning the land is not included among the four cups.

We can combine these cups to create the following narrative – “I will bring you out; I will deliver you and keep you from bondage. And if you turn back toward Egypt, I will redeem you and reclaim you. I will take you as My own people, and I will be your Elohim. I will bring you into the Land I promised to your fathers and give it to you as an inheritance.”

Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a gentile like me

Exo 6:9  And Mosheh spoke thus to the children of Yisra’ěl, but they did not listen to Mosheh, because of shortness of spirit, and from hard slavery.

In Exodus 6, YHVH IS essentially saying, “I am going to act’’ but Israel's response is - “We cannot hear this right now.”

After many years of oppression, they have reached the point of profound discouragement and emotional exhaustion - “They were so crushed, discouraged, and exhausted that they could no longer take hold of the promise of deliverance.”

YHVH's promise does not depend upon Israel having enough strength to believe it at any given moment – YHVH will powerfully intervene on Israels behalf despite their condition.

Now we can understand why the brother of Messiah – Jacov – states that the Torah is YHVH’s perfect law of freedom! – James 1:25

Exo 6:10  And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,

Exo 6:11  “Go in, speak to Pharaoh sovereign of Mitsrayim, to let the children of Yisra’ěl go out of his land.”

Exo 6:12  And Mosheh spoke before יהוה, saying, “The children of Yisra’ěl have not listened to me, and why would Pharaoh listen to me, for I am of uncircumcised lips?”

This is one of the reasons why Moses was called the meekest man on earth – by saying ‘’ I am of uncircumcised lips’’ he is saying ‘’not even my lips can speak this covenant reality that your hearts need to hear and receive’’

While Moses is certainly expressing his personal, agonizing feelings of inadequacy, the specific placement of this double repetition (uncircumcised lips – vs 12 & vs 30) includes a partial priestly family genealogy because they like Moses also have uncircumcised lips - Moses is speaking as a corporate representative for Israel, particularly the firstborn and the emerging priestly line.

So, now YHVH Himself speaks the words: ‘’Let My people go!’’ as He will do again in the last days.

Isa 59:16  And He saw that there was no man, and was astonished that there was no intercessor. So His own arm saved for Him, and His righteousness upheld him.

Exo 6:13  And יהוה spoke to Mosheh and to Aharon, and gave them a command for the children of Yisra’ěl and for Pharaoh, sovereign of Mitsrayim, to bring the children of Yisra’ěl out of the land of Mitsrayim.

 Moses and Aaron Before Pharaoh

Exo 7:1  So יהוה said to Mosheh, “See, I have made you an elohima to Pharaoh, and Aharon your brother is your prophet. Footnote: aOr mighty one – see footnote at Exo_4:16

Exo 7:2  “You shall speak all that I command you, and Aharon your brother shall speak to Pharaoh, to let the children of Yisra’ěl go out of his land.

Exo 7:3  “But I am going to harden the heart of Pharaoh, and shall increase My signs and My wonders in the land of Mitsrayim.

Exo 7:4  “And Pharaoh is not going to listen to you, and I shall lay My hand on Mitsrayim, and bring My divisions and My people, the children of Yisra’ěl, out of the land of Mitsrayim by great judgments.

Exo 7:6  And Mosheh and Aharon did as יהוה commanded them, so they did.

Exo 7:7  Now Mosheh was eighty years old and Aharon eighty-three years old when they spoke to Pharaoh.

In the last days there will be no doubt whatsoever that our final deliverance from this evil world system will be by the Hand of YHVH - Alone.

Exo 20:2  “I (and I alone) am יהוה your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim, out of the house of slavery.

This is the cornerstone of YHVH’s Covenant

There is a famous maxim in the Talmud (Lamentations Rabbah 2:13) that states: "If someone tells you there is Torah (divine law) among the gentiles, do not believe them; but if someone tells you there is Chochmah (wisdom) among the gentiles, believe them."

Jethro represents the absolute peak of gentile Chochmah. By placing Jethro’s wisdom immediately before Mount Sinai, the text shows that divine revelation (Torah) requires a foundation of human wisdom and humility (Chochmah) to function properly. Moses had to humble himself and submit to the advice of his father-in-law. If the greatest prophet who ever lived had to bow to a gentile’s organizational wisdom, no insider can ever claim absolute superiority over an outsider.

The Mirroring of the End Times

Tying this right back into our prophetic framework about Jethro's descendants serving as the "eyes" of Israel (Numbers 10:31), the Hassidic masters point out that Jethro’s arrival in the camp represents the ultimate harvest.

Jethro was not just any gentile; When he heard what YHVH did to Egypt, he confessed: "Now I know that YHVH is greater than all gods" (Exodus 18:11).

The sages say that the Torah could not be given until a representative of the global nations arrived, recognized YHVH, and brought peace to the environment.

Jethro’s confession was the "first fruits" of the nations acknowledging the Creator.

Blessed are you YHVH, our Elohim, King of the Universe, you have given us your Torah of truth and have planted everlasting life within our midst. Blessed are you, YHVH giver of the Torah – Amein.

In the last days - Unless this reality is in you is greater than the chaos that surrounds you – you will be overcome by the chaos.
