Parashat 23 Portion 73 Shemot 39:1- 40:38 Haftarah: Yesh 33:20 – 34:8 Second Writings: Eph 2:11-22.

Baruch atah YHVH, Eloheynu, Melech ha-O’lam, asher bachar banu m’kol ha-amim,
v’natan lanu eht Torah-to. Baruch atah YHVH, noteyn ha-Torah. Ameyn.”

(Blessed are you, YHVH, our Elohim , King of the Universe, you have selected us from among all the peoples,
and have given us your Torah. Blessed are you, YHVH, giver of the Torah. Ameyn.)

Shaul as we have come to expect addresses this week’s Torah teaching in the book of Hebrews.

Heb 5:1  For every priest taken from among men is appointed on behalf of men in matters relating to Elohim, to offer both gifts and offerings for sins,
Heb 5:2  being able to have a measure of feeling for those not knowing and being led astray, since he himself is also surrounded by weakness.
Heb 5:3  And on account of this he has to offer for sins – as for the people, so also for himself.
Heb 5:4  And no one obtains this esteem for himself, but he who is called by Elohim, even as Aharon also was.
Heb 5:5  So also the Messiah did not extol Himself to become High Priest, but it was He who said to Him, “You are My Son, today I have brought You forth.”1 Footnote: 1See 1:5, Ps. 2:7.
Heb 5:6  As He also says in another place, “You are a priest forever according to the order of Malkitseḏeq,”1 Footnote: 1Ps. 110:4.
Heb 5:7  who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and petitions with strong crying and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His reverent fear,
Heb 5:8  though being a Son, He learned obedience by what He suffered.
Heb 5:9  And having been perfected, He became the Causer of everlasting deliverance to all those obeying Him,
Heb 5:10  having been designated by Elohim a High Priest “according to the order of Malkitseḏeq,”
Heb 5:11  concerning whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing.
Heb 5:12  For indeed, although by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first elements of the Words of Elohim. And you have become such as need milk and not solid food.
Heb 5:13  For everyone partaking of milk is inexperienced in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.
Heb 5:14  But solid food is for the mature whose senses have been trained by practice to discern both good and evil.

First of all: no- where do we find here or in any of the Apostolic Scriptures a replacement of the priesthood. Our Messiah clearly stated that not one word of the Torah would pass away while heaven and earth were still here -  Mat 5:17-19 – He also warned that we should not break the least of these commandments.

Shaul reminds us that a Priesthood was meant to take us on into maturity. Sadly this has not been the case.
A restored Priesthood will bring us into the full revelation of mystery of Messiah.

The mystery of the revelation of Messiah remains a mystery for almost all of mankind including the church in this present time. Many claim to know him but in reality very few do. Very few people can connect Yahshua with the fullness of the Torah.

Col 1:26  the secret which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His set-apart ones,
Col 1:27  to whom Elohim desired to make known what are the riches of the esteem of this secret among the gentiles: which is Messiah in you,1 the expectancy of esteem,  (Messiah can only dwell in us according to the volume or context of all scripture)

Many who claim to be believers are going to be bitterly disappointed one day when they discover that they have been lied to and misled by religious leaders concerning the true identity and mission of Messiah.

Col 1:12  giving thanks to the Father who has made us fit to share in the inheritance of the set-apart ones in the light,
Col 1:13  who has delivered us from the authority of darkness1 and transferred us into the reign of the Son of His love, Footnote: 1Lk. 11:35, John 8:12, John 12:46-50, Acts 26:18, Eph. 5:8.
Col 1:14  in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins,
Col 1:15  who is the likeness of the invisible Elohim, the first-born of all creation.1 Footnote: 1Heb. 1:6, Rev. 3:14.
Col 1:16  Because in Him were created all that are in the heavens and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or rulerships or principalities or authorities – all have been created through Him and for Him.  (to bring us near him and to make us one with him)
Col 1:17  And He is before all, and in Him all hold together.
Col 1:18  And He is the Head of the body, the assembly, who is the beginning, the first-born from the dead, that He might become the One who is first in all.
Col 1:19  Because in Him all the completeness was well pleased to dwell,
Col 1:20  and through Him to completely restore to favour all unto Himself, whether on earth or in the heavens, having made peace through the blood of His stake.

The real truth about Yahshua for the most part has fallen on deaf ears.
Isa 59:14  And right-ruling1 is driven back, and righteousness1 stands far off. For truth has fallen in the street, and right is unable to enter. Footnote: 1Amos 5:7.
Isa 59:15  And the truth is lacking, and whoever turns away from evil makes himself a prey. And יהוה saw, and it displeased Him that there was no right-ruling.
Isa 59:16  And He saw that there was no man, and was astonished that there was no intercessor. So His own arm saved for Him, and His righteousness upheld him.
Isa 59:17  And He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of deliverance on His head. And He put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and wrapped Himself with ardour as a mantle.

When YHVH says He was astonished that He could not find an intercessor, what did He mean?
There was no one who could stem the tide of evil and cause His people to return to the ancient paths of Torah.
Only one person has ever qualified to be this kind of intercessor – Yahshua Ha Mashiach.

THE RESTORED PRIESTHOOD WILL POINT US FORWARD TO MESSIAH’S SUPERIOR PRIESTHOOD.

If Ha Satan knew who he was he would never have impaled him.

1Co 2:6  Yet we speak wisdom among those who are perfect, and not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age that are being brought to naught.
1Co 2:7  But we speak the wisdom of Elohim, which was hidden in a secret, and which Elohim ordained before the ages for our esteem,
1Co 2:8  which no one of the rulers of this age knew, for if they had known, they would not have impaled the Master of esteem.
1Co 2:9  But as it has been written, “Eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, nor have entered into the heart of man what Elohim has prepared for those who love Him.”1 Footnote: 1Isa. 64:4.
1Co 2:10  But Elohim has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all matters, even the depths of Elohim.

Shaul goes on to say that our battle is not against flesh and blood.

Eph 6:12  Because we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against authorities, against the world-rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual matters of wickedness in the heavenlies.
Eph 6:13  Because of this, take up the complete armour of Elohim, so that you have power to withstand in the wicked day, and having done all, to stand.

Our battle is against the spirit of lawlessness –  Torahlessness – the anti Messiah.

2Th 2:9  The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power and signs and wonders of falsehood,
2Th 2:10  and with all deceit of unrighteousness in those perishing, because they did not receive the love of the truth, in order for them to be saved.
2Th 2:11  And for this reason Elohim sends them a working of delusion, for them to believe the falsehood,1 Footnote: 1Eze. 20:25, John 9:39, John 12:40, Acts 7:42, Rom. 1:24-28.
2Th 2:12  in order that all should be judged who did not believe the truth, but have delighted in the unrighteousness.

Eph 6:13  Because of this, take up the complete armour of Elohim, so that you have power to withstand in the wicked day, and having done all, to stand.
Eph 6:14  Stand, then, having girded your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
Eph 6:15  and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace;
Eph 6:16  above all, having taken up the shield of belief with which you shall have power to quench all the burning arrows of the wicked one.
Eph 6:17  Take also the helmet of deliverance, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of Elohim,1 Footnote: 1Isa. 59:21.
Eph 6:18  praying at all times, with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, watching in all perseverance and supplication for all the set-apart ones;
Eph 6:19  also for me, that a word might be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to be bold in making known the secret of the Good News,

When I put on Messiah – (Rom 13:14  but put on the Master יהושע Messiah, and make no provision for the lusts of the flesh ) – I too am clothed with the garments of the High Priest.

We have once again deluded ourselves in believing that our armour is physical and compared this armour to the armour of a Roman soldier. What good ever came to the Hebrew people through Rome? The garments Shaul refers to here are the garments of the Priesthood of Yisrael.

2Co 10:3  For though we walk in the flesh, we do not fight according to the flesh.
2Co 10:4  For the weapons we fight with are not fleshly but mighty in Elohim for overthrowing strongholds,
2Co 10:5  overthrowing reasonings and every high matter that exalts itself against the knowledge of Elohim, taking captive every thought to make it obedient to the Messiah,
2Co 10:6  and being ready to punish all disobedience, when your obedience is complete.1 Footnote: 1John 3:36.

Our hope and deliverance is in our High Priest – Yahshua Ha Mashiach – according to the order of Melchizidek.

The King who has made everything right by telling the truth.

The priestly garments in this Torah portion reveal the intercessory role our Messiah enters into on our behalf.
Everything mentioned in this Torah portion will be restored one day again when the Temple is built and the service of the temple restored. Each aspect of the tabernacle will lead us closer to our Messiah and to become more like him in every way.
As we read this portion we are once again challenged in the area of submission to righteous authority. Many will fail to be part of the bride of Messiah because they did not recognize nor submit to YHVH’s appointed priesthood.

The Torah portion begins:

Exo 39:1  And of the blue and purple and scarlet material they made woven garments, to do service in the set-apart place. And they made the set-apart garments which were for Aharon, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.

Hebrew names for blue purple and scarlet - tekheleth", "argaman", and "tolah".

Tekheleth, as far as we can tell, is a shade of (sky?-)blue made from the glands of the mollusk Murex trunculus – snails found deep in the Red sea.

Menaḥoth 43b: “The tekheleth [thread] resembles the sea, and the sea resembles the heavens, and the heavens resemble YHVH’s Throne of Esteem”. The High Priest wears a robe entirely of tekheleth, and so one might suggest that the thread of tekheleth worn in the tzitzith allows each Israelite to remember that they are part of a "nation of priests" (Ex. 19:6).

Blue speaks of that which is heavenly, purple that which is kingly and red speaks of redemption.

All of these articles of clothing and furniture will one day exist again and will be tangible reminders to us of the ministry of Yahshua our High Priest.  (See video on High Priestly garments)

This is ONLY an intercessory ministry for Yisrael and the people from the nations who want to be grafted into Yisrael.

Exo 39:2  And he made the shoulder garment of gold, of blue and purple and scarlet material, and of fine woven linen.
Exo 39:3  And they beat out sheets of gold and cut it into threads, to work it in with the blue and purple and scarlet material, and the fine linen, the work of a skilled workman.
Exo 39:4  They made shoulder pieces for it to join it, it was joined at its two edges.
Exo 39:5  And the embroidered band of his shoulder garment that was on it was of the same work of gold, and blue and purple and scarlet material, and of fine woven linen, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
Exo 39:6  And they made the shoham stones, set in plated work of gold, engraved as signets are engraved, according to the names of the sons of Yisra’ĕl.
Exo 39:7  And he put them on the shoulders of the shoulder garment, stones of remembrance for the sons of Yisra’ĕl, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
Exo 39:8  And he made the breastplate, a work of a skilled workman, like the work of the shoulder garment, of gold, of blue and purple and scarlet material, and of fine woven linen.
Exo 39:9  It was square, they made the breastplate double, its length a span, its width a span, doubled.
Exo 39:10  And they filled it with four rows of stones: a row of ruby, a topaz, and an emerald was the first row;
Exo 39:11  and the second row a turquoise, a sapphire, and a diamond;
Exo 39:12  and the third row a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst;
Exo 39:13  and the fourth row a beryl, a shoham, and a jasper – set in plated work of gold in their settings.
Exo 39:14  And the stones were according to the names of the sons of Yisra’ĕl, twelve according to their names, engraved like a signet, each one with its own name according to the twelve tribes.
Exo 39:15  And they made braided chains of corded work for the breastplate at the ends, of clean gold.
Exo 39:16  And they made two settings of gold and two gold rings, and put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate.
Exo 39:17  And they put the two cords of gold in the two rings on the ends of the breastplate.
Exo 39:18  And the two ends of the two cords they fastened in the two settings, and put them on the shoulder pieces of the shoulder garment in the front.
Exo 39:19  And they made two rings of gold and put them on the two ends of the breastplate, on the edge of it, which was on the inward side of the shoulder garment.
Exo 39:20  And they made two gold rings and put them on the two shoulder pieces, underneath the shoulder garment, on the front of it, close to its seam above the embroidered band of the shoulder garment.
Exo 39:21  And they bound the breastplate by means of its rings to the rings of the shoulder garment with a blue cord, so that it would be above the embroidered band of the shoulder garment, and that the breastplate would not come loose from the shoulder garment, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
Exo 39:22  And he made the robe of the shoulder garment of woven work, all of blue.
Exo 39:23  And the opening of the robe was in the middle, like the opening in a scaled armour, with a woven binding all around the opening, so that it would not tear.
Exo 39:24  And they made on the hem of the robe pomegranates of blue and purple and scarlet material, twined.
Exo 39:25  And they made bells of clean gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates on the hem of the robe all around between the pomegranates:
Exo 39:26  a bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, all around the hem of the robe, for the service, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
Exo 39:27  And they made the long shirt of fine linen, the work of a weaver, for Aharon and his sons,
Exo 39:28  and a turban of fine linen, and the turban ornaments of fine linen, and short trousers of fine woven linen,
Exo 39:29  and a girdle of fine woven linen with blue and purple and scarlet material, the work of an embroiderer, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
Exo 39:30  And they made the plate of the set-apart sign of dedication of clean gold, and wrote on it an inscription like the engraving of a signet: SET-APARTNESS TO יהוה.
Exo 39:31  And they put on it a blue cord, to fasten it above on the turban, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
Exo 39:32  And all the work of the Dwelling Place of the Tent of Meeting was completed. And the children of Yisra’ĕl did according to all that יהוה had commanded Mosheh, so they did.
Exo 39:33  And they brought the Dwelling Place to Mosheh, the tent and all its furnishings, its hooks, its boards, its bars, and its columns, and its sockets,
Exo 39:34  and the covering of rams’ skins dyed red, and the covering of fine leather, and the veil of the covering,
Exo 39:35  the ark of the Witness with its poles, and the lid of atonement,
Exo 39:36  the table, and all its utensils, and the showbread,
Exo 39:37  the clean lampstand with its lamps, the lamps to be put in order, and all its utensils, and the oil for light,
Exo 39:38  and the altar of gold, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the covering for the Tent door,
Exo 39:39  the bronze altar and its bronze grating, its poles, and all its utensils, the basin with its stand,
