Parashat 24 Portion 83 Vayikra 4:1-35 Ezek 18:4-13, 32 Jer 1:1-2:3 Rev 5:1-14

Blessed are you, YHVH, our Elohim, King of the Universe, you have selected us from among all the peoples, and have given us your Torah.

נפשׁ כי תחטא – when a being(‘’nefesh’’) loses their way in life or when they stray from the Torah (by accident שׁגגה)

Lev 4:1  And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,

Lev 4:2  “Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, saying, ‘When a being (Heb ‘’nefesh”)sins by mistake (שׁגגה)against any of the commands of יהוה, which are not to be done, and shall do any of them:

Eze 18:4  “See, all beings(‘’nefesh’’) are Mine, the being(‘’nefesh’’) of the father as well as the being(‘’nefesh’’) of the son is Mine. The being(‘’nefesh’’) that is sinning(החטאת) shall dieGen 2:7

‘’ החטאת ‘’ is a present tense verb or participle in Hebrew and clearly implies one who continually sins and refuses to acknowledge, confess, and forsake their sins –

This weeks Torah portion is about the sin offering (Heb ‘’korban chatat’’) a compulsory offering.

1Jn 3:4  Everyone doing sin also does lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. (again, someone who knowingly or in ignorance continues to disobey YHVH’s Torah – the definition of sin)

Jas 2:10  For whoever shall guard all the Torah, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.

This is how serious YHVH is about obedience to the Torah. Yahshua did not come to change Torah but to elevate the Torah – set an even higher standard of obedience to Torah. Yahshua goes on to live a sinless life an then lay down His own life as a payment of the penalty of failing to live in accordance with the Torah –

Tit 2:14  who gave Himself for us, to redeem us from all lawlessness[b] and to cleanse for Himself a people, His own possession, ardent for good works.[c] Footnotes: bSee also 1Jn_3:4, Mat_1:21, Act_3:19 and Act_3:26, Act_26:18, Rom_6:1-22, Eph_2:1-10, 1Jn_3:8, Tit_3:5. c Mat_16:27

Tit 2:15  Speak these matters, urge, and convict[d] with all authority. Let no one despise you. Footnote: dOr confute– or exposing the real truth, separating truth from error S1651.

One of the reasons YHVH gave us the Torah was to show us the exceeding sinfulness of sin? – Rom 7:13  Therefore, has that which is good (Torah)become death to me? Let it not be! But the sin, that sin might be manifest, was working death in me through what is good, so that sin through the command might become an exceedingly great sinner. (religion prevents this from happening)

No One Is Righteous – Describing the condition of every single human being on earth.

Rom 3:9  What then? Are we better than they? Not at all, for we have previously accused both Yehuḏim and Greeks that they are all under sin.

Rom 3:10  As it has been written, “There is none righteous, no, not one! (it will not remain this way as people remove themselves from religion with deep repentance)

Rom 3:11  “There is no one who is understanding, there is none who is seeking Elohim.

Rom 3:12  “They all have turned aside, they have together become worthless. There is none who does good, no, not one.” Psa_14:1-3, Psa_53:1-4

Rom 3:13  “Their throat is an open tomb, with their tongues they have deceived,” Psa_5:9 “The poison of adders is under their lips,” Psa_140:3

Rom 3:14  “Whose mouth is filled with cursing and bitterness.” Psa_10:7

Rom 3:15  “Their feet are swift to shed blood, Pro_1:16

Rom 3:16  ruin and wretchedness are in their ways,

Rom 3:17  and the way of peace they have not known.” Isa_59:7

Rom 3:18  “There is no fear of Elohim before their eyes.” Psa_36:1

Rom 3:19  And we know that whatever the Torah says, it says to those who are in the Torah, so that every mouth might be stopped, and all the world come under judgment before Elohim.

Rom 3:20  Therefore by works of Torah no flesh shall be declared right before Him, Psa_143:2 for by the Torah is the knowledge of sin.b Footnote: b Exo_20:20, Rom_4:15, Rom_7:7

We have a problem, He has the solution – Religion is one of the greatest curses to have come upon mankind. Religion falsely teaches that you can work out your own salvation WITHOUT fear or trembling –

Php 2:12  So that, my beloved, as you always obeyed – not only in my presence, but now much rather in my absence – work out your own deliverance with fear and trembling, Psa_2:11

All World religions have promoted the ‘’Satanic agenda’’ to steal kill and destroy – Jn 10:10

1Jn 1:9  If we confess our sins, He is trustworthy and righteous to forgive us the sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1Jn 1:10  If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.

Even the Apostolic scriptures teach that deliberately transgressing the Torah witnessed by two or three witnesses carries the death penalty –

Heb 10:28  Anyone who has disregarded (Gk repudiating – present continuous tense) the Torah of Mosheh dies without compassion on the witness of two or three witnesses.

Heb 10:29  How much worse punishment do you think shall he deserve who has trampled the Son of Elohim underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was set apart as common, and insulted the Spirit of favour? (ie declaring the sacrificial system null and void)

The world may be on the verge of finding out how serious YHVH is about His Torah – Is 24.

Rom 8:4  so that the righteousness of the Torah should be completed in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

We know that if we confess our sins YHVH is merciful and will forgive us our sins. When we keep on making the same mistakes, YHVH will chastise us and discipline us to correct wrong patterns of behavior and actions.  See Deut 28 and Lev 26 – ‘’tochacha’’

Heb 12:4  You have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

Heb 12:5  And you have forgotten the appeal which speaks to you as to sons, “My son, do not despise the discipline of יהוה, nor faint when you are reproved by Him,

Heb 12:6  for whom יהוה loves, He disciplines, and flogs (G3146 – Gk – ‘’mastegoi’’ Jn 19:1 same Gk  root) every son whom He receives.”1 Footnote: 1Prov. 3:11-12.

Heb 12:7  If you endure discipline, Elohim is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom a father does not discipline?

Heb 12:8  But if you are without discipline, of which all have become sharers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.

Heb 12:9  Moreover, we indeed had fathers of our flesh disciplining us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live?

Heb 12:10  For they indeed disciplined us for a few days as seemed best to them, but He does it for our profit, so that we might share His apartness.

Heb 12:11  And indeed, no discipline seems pleasant at the time, but grievous, but afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.1 Footnote: 1Dt. 8:2.

Heb 12:12  So, strengthen the hands which hang down and the weak knees,

Heb 12:13  and make straight paths for your feet, lest the lame be turned aside, but instead, to be healed.

Heb 12:14  Pursue peace with all, and pursue apartness without which no one shall see the Master.

There is real danger that if we persist in behaviour that is unacceptable to YHVH we may even lose our salvation –

Mat 12:31  “Because of this I say to you, all sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven men. Mat 12:32  “And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Aḏam, it shall be forgiven him, but whoever speaks against the Set-apart Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.

Lev 4:3  ‘If the anointed priest - הכהן המשׁיח -or high priest- sins, bringing guilt on the people, then he shall bring to יהוה for his sin which he has sinned a young bull, a perfect one, as a sin offering,

Heb 4:15  For we do not have a High Priest unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who was tried in all respects as we are, apart from sin. Heb 4:16  Therefore, let us come boldly to the throne of favour, in order to receive compassion, and find favour for timely help.

Lev 4:4  and he shall bring the bull to the door of the Tent of Meeting before יהוה, and shall lay his hand on the bull’s head, and slaughter the bull before יהוה.

Lev 4:5  ‘And the anointed priest shall take some of the bull’s blood and bring it to the Tent of Meeting,

Lev 4:6  and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle some of the blood seven times before יהוה, in front of the veil of the set-apart place.

Lev 4:7  ‘And the priest shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of sweet incense before יהוה, which is in the Tent of Meeting, and pour all the blood of the bull at the base of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the Tent of Meeting.

Lev 4:8  ‘Then he takes all the fat of the bull as the sin offering, the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat which is on the entrails,

Lev 4:9  and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them by the loins, and the appendage on the liver, which he removes with the kidneys,

Lev 4:10  as it was taken from the bull of the peace offering. And the priest shall burn them on the altar of the burnt offering.

Lev 4:11  ‘But the skin of the bull, and all its flesh, with its head and legs, its entrails and dung –

Lev 4:12  all of the bull – he shall bring outside the camp to a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire. Where the ashes are poured out it is burned.

This is alluding to the Messiah who was offered up outside the camp - Heb 13:10  We have a slaughter-place from which those serving the Tent have no authority to eat. Heb 13:11  For the bodies of those beasts whose blood is brought into the Set-apart Place by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp. Heb 13:12  And so יהושע also suffered outside the gate, to set apart the people with His own blood. Heb 13:13  Let us, then, go to Him outside the camp,(outside of religion) bearing His reproach. Heb 13:14  For we have no lasting city here, but we seek the one coming.

Lev 4:13  ‘And if the entire congregation of Yisra’ĕl strays by mistake, and the matter has been hidden from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done against any of the commands of יהוה, which are not to be done, and shall be guilty,

Lev 4:14  when the sin which they have sinned becomes known, then the assembly shall bring a young bull for the sin, and bring it before the Tent of Meeting.

1Co 4:4  For I am not conscious of any matter against myself, yet I am not declared right by this, but He who judges me is יהוה

1Co 4:5  So do not judge any at all before the time, until the Master comes, who shall bring to light what is hidden in darkness and reveal the thoughts of the hearts. And then each one’s praise shall come from Elohim.

Lev 4:15  ‘And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands on the head of the bull before יהוה, and the bull shall be slaughtered before יהוה.

Lev 4:16  ‘And the anointed priest shall bring some of the bull’s blood to the Tent of Meeting,

Lev 4:17  and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle it seven times before יהוה, in front of the veil,

Lev 4:18  and put some of the blood on the horns of the altar which is before יהוה, which is in the Tent of Meeting, and pour all the blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the door of the Tent of Meeting.

Lev 4:19  ‘Then he takes all the fat from it and shall burn it on the altar.

Lev 4:20  ‘And he shall do with the bull as he did with the bull as a sin offering – so shall he do it. And the priest shall make atonement for them, and it shall be forgiven them.

Lev 4:21  ‘And he shall bring the bull outside the camp, and burn it as he burned the first bull. It is a sin offering for the assembly.

Lev 4:22  ‘When a ruler sins, and by mistake has done against any of the commands of יהוה his Elohim which are not to be done, and shall be guilty,

Lev 4:23  or if his sin which he has sinned is made known to him, then he shall bring as his offering a buck of the goats, a male, a perfect one.

Lev 4:24  ‘And he shall lay his hand on the head of the goat, and slaughter it at the place where they slaughter the burnt offering before יהוה. It is a sin offering.

Lev 4:25  ‘And the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and shall put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour its blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering,

Lev 4:26  and burn all its fat on the altar, like the fat of the slaughtering of the peace offering. And the priest shall make atonement for him for his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.

Lev 4:27  ‘And if any being (nefesh) of the people of the land sins by mistake by doing against any of the commands of יהוה which are not to be done, and shall be guilty,

Lev 4:28  or if his sin which he has sinned shall be made known to him, then he shall bring as his offering a female goat, a perfect one, for his sin which he has sinned.

Lev 4:29  ‘And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering, and slaughter the sin offering at the place of the burnt offering.

Lev 4:30  ‘And the priest shall take some of its blood with his finger, and shall put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour all the blood at the base of the altar,

Lev 4:31  then remove all its fat, as fat is removed from the slaughtering of the peace offering. And the priest shall burn it on the altar for a sweet fragrance to יהוה. And the priest shall make atonement for him, and it shall be forgiven him.

Lev 4:32  ‘And if he brings a lamb as his sin offering, he brings a female, a perfect one.

Lev 4:33  ‘And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering, and slaughter it as a sin offering at the place where they slaughter the burnt offering.

Lev 4:34  ‘And the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and shall put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour all the blood at the base of the altar.

Lev 4:35  ‘Then he removes all its fat, as the fat of the lamb is removed from the slaughtering of the peace offering. And the priest shall burn it on the altar, according to the offerings made by fire to יהוה. So the priest shall make atonement for his sin that he has sinned, and it shall be forgiven him.

Joh 16:7  “But I say the truth to you. It is better for you that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper shall not come to you at all, but if I go, I shall send Him to you.

Joh 16:8  “And having come, He shall convict[a] the world concerning sin,[b] and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment – Footnotes: aOr confute or prove wrong. b 2Ch_24:20, Neh_9:30, Eze_36:27, Mic_3:8, Act_28:25-27

‘’The word convict is a translation of the Greek word elencho, which means “to convince someone of the truth..’’ concerning sin ,righteousness and judgment. Religion has hidden the real truth about the seriousness of sin – The righteousness of the Torah is that we embrace the seriousness of sin with the faithful conviction that one day He will remove all sin from His people.

Joh 16:9  concerning sin because they do not believe in Me, We have created a belief system around Yahshua which is not true reflection of who He is - we have misrepresented Him – 2 Cor 11:3-5

Joh 16:10  concerning righteousness because I go to My Father and you see Me no more -We have no righteousness of our own – Is 64:6 We are ‘’becoming’’ the righteousness of Elohim in Messiah – 2 Cor 5:21

Joh 16:11  concerning judgment because the ruler of this world[c] is judged. Footnote: cSee Luk_4:6

Satan continues to deceive mankind, however not all of mankind is deceived by him - Rev 13:7  And it was given to him to fight with the set-apart ones and to overcome them. And authority was given to him over every tribe and tongue and nation. Rev 13:8  And all those dwelling on the earth, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the slain Lamb, from the foundation of the world shall worship him.

Some scholars believe that by the end of the millennium all sin will be removed completely forever from His people - Jud 1:24  And to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you blameless before the presence of His esteem with exceeding joy

Blessed are you YHVH, our Elohim, King of the Universe, you have given us your Torah of truth, and have planted everlasting life within our midst. Blessed are you, YHVH giver of the Torah – Amein.

Parashat 24 Portion 82 ‘’Vayikra’’- Lev 1:1- 3:17 Mic 6:9-16 + 7:7-8 Eph 5:1-10

Blessed are you, YHVH, our Elohim, King of the Universe, you have selected us from among all the peoples, and have given us your Torah.

Now we come to the very heart of the Torah – ‘’Vayikra’’ or ‘’and He called’’ - traditionally the first book children learn in the Rabbinic system of education. What is YHVH calling us to? A life of ‘’sacrifices’’ Luk 9:23  And He said to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his stake daily, and follow Me. Luk 9:24  “For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake shall save it.

Rom 12:1  I call upon you, therefore, brothers, through the compassion of Elohim, to present your bodies a living offering – set-apart, well-pleasing to Elohim – your reasonable worship. Rom 12:2  And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you prove what is that good and well-pleasing and perfect desire of Elohim.

Contrary to popular and religious opinion – the ‘’sacrificial system’’ was never done away with or replaced by Yahshua. In fact, Yahshua teaches that ‘’sacrifice’’ is at the very heart of our faith. ‘’Leviticus’’ comes from the Hebrew word ‘’Levite’’ and ‘’Levite’’ comes from the Hebrew word ‘’lev’’ or heart. ‘’Levi’’ means ‘’my heart’’. All those who surrender themselves to ‘’this life’’ will know and have the Heart of the Father.

Act 13:22 ….. ‘I have found Dawiḏ the son of Yishai, a man after My own heart, who shall do all My desires.’ Act 13:23  “From this one’s seed, according to the promise, Elohim raised up for Yisra’ěl a Saviour, יהושע

ויקרא - to call out to - that is, properly address by name - A primitive root; to encounter. S7121

Lev 1:1  And יהוה called to Mosheh, and spoke to him from the Tent of Meeting, saying,

The Tabernacle is erected and now from the Most Set Apart Place YHVH is ‘’calling’’ His People by name to engage in a life of ‘’sacrifice’’ it is the ‘’reasonable’’ (Gk ‘’logikos’’ or logical) worshipful response for an Israelite called by YHVH – Rom 12:1

Lev 1:2  “Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, and say to them, ‘When anyone of you brings an offering to יהוה, you bring your offering of the livestock, of the herd or of the flock.

CLV ‘’Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them: When any man among you brings (Heb ‘’karav’’) near an approach present (Heb ‘’korban’’) to Yahweh, from the domestic beasts (from the herd or from the flock) shall you bring near your approach present.’’

קרב qârab :  to come near, approach, enter into, draw near

קרבּן  qûrbân: offering, oblation

Midrash: When a Hebrew man approaches YHVH – he doesn’t approach YHVH empty handed. In fact, YHVH is very specific as to how he should be approached.

Lev 1:3  ‘If his offering is a burnt offering (Heb ‘’korban olah’’) of the herd, let him bring a male, a perfect one. Let him bring it at the door of the Tent of Meeting, for his acceptance (Heb ratza – to be pleased that a debt has been satisfied) before יהוה.

Lev 1:4  ‘And he shall lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it shall be accepted on his behalf to make atonement for him.

Lev 1:5  ‘And he shall slaughter the bull before יהוה. And the sons of Aharon, the priests, shall bring the blood and sprinkle the blood all around on the altar which is at the door of the Tent of Meeting.

Lev 1:6  ‘And he shall skin the burnt offering and cut it into its pieces.

Lev 1:7  ‘And the sons of Aharon the priest shall put fire on the altar, and lay the wood in order on the fire.

Lev 1:8  ‘And the sons of Aharon, the priests, shall arrange the pieces, with the head and the fat on the wood which is on the fire on the altar.

Lev 1:9  ‘But its entrails and its legs he washes with water. And the priest shall burn all of it on the altar as a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, a sweet fragrance to יהוה.

Lev 1:10  ‘And if his offering is from the flock, from the sheep or from the goats as a burnt offering, let him bring a male, a perfect one.

Lev 1:11  ‘And he shall slaughter it on the north side of the altar before יהוה. And the sons of Aharon, the priests, shall sprinkle its blood on the altar all around.

It appears that only the burnt offering was to be slaughtered on the north side. The Hebrew word for “north” comes from “tzaphan” which implies that which is hidden or secret. The burnt offering would always then remind us of the complete offering Yashua made of himself. Perhaps the burnt offering (‘’olah’’) would be an opportunity for YHVH to reveal mysteries and give special insights to the men who made such offerings.

Lev 1:12  ‘And he shall cut it into its pieces, with its head and its fat, and the priest shall arrange them on the wood which is on the fire on the altar.

Lev 1:13  ‘But the entrails and the legs he washes with water. And the priest shall bring it all and burn it on the altar. It is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, a sweet fragrance to יהוה.

Lev 1:14  ‘And if the burnt offering of his offering to יהוה is of birds, then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves or young pigeons.

Lev 1:15  ‘And the priest shall bring it to the altar, and shall wring off its head, and burn it on the altar, and its blood shall be drained out at the side of the altar.

Lev 1:16  ‘And he shall remove its crop with its feathers and throw it beside the altar on the east side, into the place for ashes.

Lev 1:17  ‘And he shall split it at its wings, but not sever it. And the priest shall burn it on the altar, on the wood that is on the fire. It is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, a sweet fragrance to יהוה.

Lev 2:1  ‘And when anyone brings a grain offering to יהוה, his offering is to be of fine flour. And he shall pour oil on it, and put frankincense on it,

Lev 2:2  and he shall bring it to the sons of Aharon, the priests, and he shall take from it his hand filled with fine flour and oil with all the frankincense. And the priest shall burn it as a remembrance portion on the altar, an offering made by fire, a sweet fragrance to יהוה.

Lev 2:3  ‘And the rest of the grain offering is for Aharon and his sons, most set-apart of the offerings to יהוה by fire.

The text states that a remnant of the grain offering that was not put on the fire was kept aside for Aaron and his sons - THIS REMNANT OFFERING WAS MOST SET APART – “KODESH KODASHIM” OF ALL THE FIRE OFFERINGS PRESENTED TO YHVH.

Maybe one of the reasons why this offering is called ‘’most Set Apart’’ is that only a very small remnant of YHVH’s people are willing to lay down their lives, forsake all, and follow Him or maybe it was the poorest of the poor who were willing to set aside some of their meagre food rations to bring an offering or approach gift to YHVH.

Lev 2:4  ‘And when you bring as an offering a grain offering baked in the oven, it is of unleavened cakes of fine flour mixed with oil, or unleavened thin cakes anointed with oil.

Lev 2:5  ‘But if your offering is a grain offering on the griddle, it is of fine flour, unleavened, mixed with oil.

Lev 2:6  ‘Divide it into bits and pour oil on it, it is a grain offering.

Lev 2:7  ‘And if your offering is a grain offering, in a stewing-pot, it is made of fine flour with oil.

Lev 2:8  ‘And you shall bring to יהוה the grain offering that is made of these, and shall present it to the priest, and he shall bring it to the altar.

Lev 2:9  ‘And the priest shall take from the grain offering a remembrance portion, and burn it on the altar, an offering made by fire, a sweet fragrance to יהוה.

Lev 2:10  ‘And the rest of the grain offering is for Aharon and his sons, most set-apart of the offerings to יהוה made by fire.

Lev 2:11  ‘No grain offering which you bring to יהוה is made with leaven, for you do not burn any leaven or any honey in an offering to יהוה made by fire.

Lev 2:12  ‘Bring them to יהוה as an offering of the first-fruits, (‘’korban reshiet’’) but they are not burned on the altar for a sweet fragrance.

Lev 2:13  ‘And season with salt every offering of your grain offering, and do not allow the salt of the covenant of your Elohim to be lacking from your grain offering. With all your offerings you bring salt.

Num 18:19  “All the contributions of the set-apart gifts, which the children of Yisra’ěl present to יהוה, I have given to you and your sons and daughters with you as a law forever. It is a covenant of salt forever before יהוה with you and your seed with you.”

2Ch 13:5  “Do you not know that יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ěl has given the reign over Yisra’ěl to Dawiḏ forever, to him and his sons, by a covenant of salt?

Mat 5:13  “You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt becomes tasteless, how shall it be seasoned? For it is no longer of any use but to be thrown out and to be trodden down by men. (it is impossible for pure salt to lose its saltiness and like the Most Set Apart Place a salt crystal is a perfect cube with 8 equal sides)

Lev 2:14  ‘And if you bring a grain offering of your first-fruits to יהוה, bring for the grain offering of your first-fruits green heads of grain roasted on the fire, crushed heads of new grain.

Lev 2:15  ‘And you shall put oil on it, and lay frankincense on it. It is a grain offering.

Lev 2:16  ‘And the priest shall burn the remembrance portion, from its crushed grain and from its oil, with all the frankincense, an offering made by fire to יהוה.

Laws for Peace Offerings

Lev 3:1  ‘And if that which he presents is a slaughtering of peace offerings, (Heb ‘’shelamin’’ from root ‘’shalam’’ a celebration or anticipation of restoration of wholeness and well -being) if he is bringing it of the herd, whether male or female, he brings a perfect one before יהוה

Mat 5:23  “If, then, you bring your gift to the slaughter-place, and there remember that your brother holds whatever against you, Mat 5:24  leave your gift there before the slaughter-place, and go, first make peace with your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

Lev 3:2  ‘And he shall lay(Heb ‘’samach’’ to lean upon) his hand on the head of his offering, and slay it at the door of the Tent of Appointment. And the sons of Aharon, the priests, shall sprinkle the blood on the slaughter-place all around.

A recognition that the well being of another was given in exchange for my own wellbeing.

Lev 3:3  ‘And from the slaughtering of peace offerings he shall bring a fire offering to יהוה, the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails,

Lev 3:4  and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them by the loins, and the appendage on the liver which he removes with the kidneys.

Lev 3:5  ‘And the sons of Aharon shall burn it on the slaughter-place upon the ascending offering, which is on the wood, which is on the fire, as an offering made by fire, a sweet fragrance to יהוה

Lev 3:6  ‘And if that which he presents is from the flock, for a slaughtering of peace offerings to יהוה, male or female, he brings a perfect one.

Lev 3:7  ‘If he is bringing a lamb as his offering, then he shall bring it before יהוה

Lev 3:8  and shall lay (‘’samach’’) his hand on the head of his offering, and slay it in front of the Tent of Appointment, and the sons of Aharon shall sprinkle its blood on the slaughter-place round about.

Lev 3:9  ‘And from the slaughtering of peace offerings he shall bring near – as a fire offering to יהוה – its fat, all the fat tail which he removes close to the backbone, and the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails,

Lev 3:10  and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them by the loins, and the appendage on the liver, which he removes with the kidneys.

Lev 3:11  ‘And the priest shall burn them on the slaughter-place as food, an offering made by fire to יהוה

Lev 3:12  ‘And if his offering is a goat, then he shall bring it before יהוה

Midrash: Korban(offering) is all about Kavanah (condition of our hearts)

Korban is the way of why we exist - Joh 6:53  יהושע therefore said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Aḏam and drink His blood, you possess no life in yourselves.

Joh 6:54  “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood possesses everlasting life, and I shall raise him up in the last day. Joh 6:55  “For My flesh is truly food, and My blood is truly drink. Joh 6:56  “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood stays in Me, and I in him. Joh 6:57  “As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me shall live because of Me.

Joh 6:58  “This is the bread which came down out of the heaven, not as your fathers ate the manna and died. He who eats this bread shall live forever.” Joh 6:59  He said this in a congregation, teaching in Kephar Naḥum. (Village of comfort)

Mic 6:8  He has declared to you, O man, what is good. And what does יהוה require of you but to do right, and to love loving-commitment, and to walk humbly with your Elohim?

Destruction of the Wicked

Mic 6:9  The voice of יהוה cries to the city – and let sound wisdom see Your Name! “Hear the Rod and Him who appointed it!

Mic 6:10  “Are there still treasures of wrongness in the house of the wrong, and the short measure that is an abomination?”

Mic 6:11  Would I be innocent with wrong scales, and with a bag of false weights?

Mic 6:12  “For her rich men are filled with cruel unrighteousness, and her inhabitants have spoken falsehood, and their tongue is deceit in their mouth.

Mic 6:13  “So I also, I shall strike you with a grievous wound, to lay you waste because of your sins:

Mic 6:14  “You shall eat but not be satisfied, and your inside be empty. And you shall store up but not save, and what you save I shall give to the sword.

Mic 6:15  “You shall sow but not reap, you shall tread the olives but not anoint yourselves with oil, and make sweet wine but not drink wine.

Mic 6:16  “For the laws of Omri are strictly observed, and all the works of the house of Aḥab, and you walk in their counsels. Therefore I give you for a ruin, and your inhabitants for a hissing, and let you bear the reproach of My people.”

Mic 7:7  As for me, I look to יהוה, I wait for the Elohim of my deliverance, my Elohim does hear me.

Mic 7:8  Do not rejoice over me, O my enemy. When I have fallen I have risen, when I sit in darkness יהוה is a light to me.

How can religious people say the ‘’offerings’’ have been done away with?

Our entire existence is defined by ‘’offering’’ - Luk 9:23  And He said to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his stake daily, and follow Me. Luk 9:24  “For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake shall save it.

Luk 9:25  “For what is a man profited if he gains all the world, and is himself destroyed or lost?

Blessed are you YHVH, our Elohim, King of the Universe, you have given us your Torah of truth, and have planted everlasting life within our midst. Blessed are you, YHVH giver of the Torah – Amein.
