Parashat 2 Portion 9 Ber/Gen 11:1-32 Yesh/Is 28:1-16 1 Cor 14:20-32

Quote from BOOK OF JASHER – The book of Jasher is also referred to in the Book of Joshua and Second Samuel.

Yasher 11 - 1 And Nimrod son of Cush was still in the land of Shinar, and he reigned over it and dwelt there, and he built cities in the land of Shinar.
2 And these are the names of the four cities which he built, and he called their names after the occurrences that happened to them in the building of the tower.
3 And he called the first Babel, saying, Because YHVH there confounded the language of the whole earth; and the name of the second he called Erech, because from there YHVH dispersed them.
4 And the third he called Eched, saying there was a great battle at that place; and the fourth he called Calnah, because his princes and mighty men were consumed there, and they vexed YHVH, they rebelled and transgressed against him.

7 And notwithstanding this, Nimrod did not return to YHVH, and he continued in wickedness and teaching wickedness to the sons of men; and Mardon, his son, was worse than his father, and continued to add to the abominations of his father.
8 And he caused the sons of men to sin, therefore it is said, From the wicked goeth forth wickedness.
14 And Abram knew YHVH, and he went in his ways and instructions, and YHVH his Elohim was with him.
15 And Terah his father was in those days, still captain of the host of king Nimrod, and he still followed strange gods – End quote.

History records the following about Nimrod:

“Nimrod, the King, took a wife.  The wife Nimrod chose was his mother.  So the “son” became both the husband and son of the mother.  In effect making this marriage a “trinity” union in as much as the “husband” was the same person as the “son” united as “one” with the wife/mother.  So Nimrod married his mother, Semiramis, and she became the Queen of Babylon.  It was Semiramis from which the religion surrounding Nimrod and the planets (astrology) evolved.  Nimrod the mighty and ruthless murderer was killed for his crimes against humanity by the sons of Noah. His body cut into pieces and distributed all over his kingdom by his enemies.  In the face of Nimrod’s death, Semiramis had to somehow maintain her grip and power over the people.  In order to solidify her power she “invented” a religion for the people that would keep Nimrod’s control over them even after his death.  She then gave birth to a son named Tammuz whom she claimed was the reincarnation of Nimrod.  So through the belief that Tammuz was "Nimrod in the flesh" the queen was able to subdue the people of Babylon.  So Tammuz was “Nimrod in the flesh” and “one” with his father who was “one” with his wife/mother through marriage… the unholy concept of a Trinity is born.”
“The Queen of Heaven” is among all cultures and worshipped as the primary head of this false religion.  Even the children of Israel fell into the worship of Semiramis, The Queen of Heaven, and YHVH sent them the prophet Jeremiah with a warning: Jeremiah 44:17-29 “
“Together, Semiramis and her son/husband, Nimrod started this occult religion of sacrificing babies to Moloch, aka Satan which they especially did on the winter solstice and the vernal equinox in the spring also called “Easter ‘Sun’ Day.” Nimrod’s name literally means “tyrant, rebellion.” The city of Rome was once known as Saturnalia, “The city of Saturn,” and in the Chaldean mysteries, the Babylonian dictator Nimrod was deified as Saturn. His birthday was celebrated on December 25th or “Saturnalia.” In Chaldee, Saturn is spelled as “STUR” which totals 666:

Shin = 60
Taw = 400
Waw (U) = 6
Resh = 200
Grand Total = 666
Semiramis (“queen of heaven”) gave birth on December 25th to another son named Tammuz (Ezekiel 8:14) and she ordered the Babylonians to go into the groves (forest) and place a gift under the tree to honor Nimrod who was “cut down” like a tree (Isaiah 14:12-19). She also ordered the people to cut down a tree, bring it into their homes and decorate it with silver and gold balls to symbolize Nimrod’s testicles (Jeremiah 10:3-4).”
Jer 10:2  Thus said יהוה, “Do not learn the way of the gentiles,1 and do not be awed by the signs of the heavens, for the gentiles are awed by them.2 Footnotes: 1Lev. 18:3, Dt. 12:30 & 18:9, Ezek. 11:12 & 20:32, Eph. 4:17, 1 Peter 4:3. 2Dt. 4:19 & 17:3.
Jer 10:3  “For the prescribed customs of these peoples are worthless, for one cuts a tree from the forest, work for the hands of a craftsman with a cutting tool.
Jer 10:4  “They adorn it with silver and gold, they fasten it with nails and hammers so that it does not topple.

“Antiochus Epiphanies was also one of the many historical Anti-Messiahs (Antichrists) whose given name “Epiphanies” adds up to 666 in the Greek alpha-numberic system.

These were the new laws that Antiochus set up:

You shall profane the Sabbath.
You shall change the set times (festivals) and laws.
You shall set up idols.
You shall eat unclean animals.
You shall not circumcise.
You shall forget Torah.

The persecutions began in 167 B.C. in the days of Antiochus, but 3.5 years later, the Temple was taken back and rededicated in 164 B.C. This became known as “The Feast of Dedication” (Chanukah) which our Messiah observed in John 10:22.
These laws created by an Antichrist leader named Antiochus are the very same laws that Constantine would later repeat and this is what the entire Christian world is living by today!
False religion like the Tower of babel is a place of false security. Nimrod perhaps thought that they could create a structure that would save them from another flood.
Modern theology assures us that YHVH will never curse mankind again because we are living in the dispensation of grace. The teaching of scripture is that Yahshua came to deliver us from the curse. However ongoing unrepentant rebellion among believers will bring a terrible curse.

Mal 4:5  “See, I am sending you Ěliyah1 the prophet before the coming of the great and awesome day of יהוה. Footnote: 1Lk. 1:17.
Mal 4:6  “And he shall turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with utter destruction1.” Footnote: 1Zech. 14:11.

Note it’s the contempt we show for our fathers – Abraham, Yitchak and Yakov – and for righteous Torah seeking patriarchal authority that will bring utter destruction of the earth

False religion will always try to undermine the authority of the father. This spirit is currently out of control, we call it feminism and it is feuled by the very demonic principality called the “Queen of heaven.” We are living in a time of rampant divorce and sexual licence.

Let us remind ourselves of the letter our Messiah wrote to the assembly of Thyatira.

Rev 2:20  “But I hold against you that you allow that woman Izeḇel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and lead My servants astray to commit whoring and to eat food offered to idols.
Rev 2:21  “And I gave her time to repent of her whoring, and she did not repent.
Rev 2:22  “See, I am throwing her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great affliction, unless they repent of their works.
Rev 2:23  “And I shall slay her children with death. And all the assemblies shall know that I am the One searching the kidneys and hearts. And I shall give to each one of you according to your works.

Our Torah portion:
Gen 11:1  And all the earth had one language1 and one speech. Footnote: 1Hebrew lip
Gen 11:2  And it came to be, as they set out from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinʽar1, and they dwelt there. Footnote: 1Earlier name for Baḇel

Etymology and meaning of the name Babel
The Sumerian name of the city we know as Babel or Babylon was Bab-ilim, and that means Gates Of The Deities. But the Scripture refers to Babel meaning “confusion.”  This seems to have been like a portal in the spiritual world where strong demonic powers and principalities found access on to earth through men and woman who had so given themselves over to the control of ha satan.

Once again our attention is drawn to the several genealogies given to us in the Torah. Scholars believe these names tell a redemptive story – see website:

Ber/Gen 5 - The Elohim-Man is appointed, a mortal man of sorrow is born! The Glory of Elohim shall come down from heaven and teach men that by means of His death He shall comfort those who mourn.

This week’s Torah portion reads something like:

‘The fame of the stronghold of Babylon, and sorrow, extend their borders like a plant beyond the place of division (at the Tower of Babel). -- But I will make Babylon fade away!
A friend also branches out, enraged with fury! ‘

Gen 11:3  And they said to each other, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” And they had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar.
Gen 11:4  And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens, and make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered over all the face of the earth.”
Gen 11:5  Then יהוה came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built.
Gen 11:6  And יהוה said, “Look, they are one people and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do! And now, they are not going to be withheld from doing whatever they plan to do.
Gen 11:7  “Come, let Us go there and confuse their language, so that they do not understand one another’s speech.”
Gen 11:8  And יהוה scattered them from there, over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city.
Gen 11:9  That is why its name was called Baḇel1, because there יהוה confused the language of all the earth, and from there יהוה scattered them over the face of all the earth. Footnote: 1Baḇel is derived from a verb which means “to confuse".
Gen 11:10  This is the genealogy of Shĕm: Shĕm was a hundred years old and brought forth Arpaḵshaḏ, two years after the flood.
Gen 11:11  And after he brought forth Arpaḵshaḏ, Shĕm lived five hundred years, and brought forth sons and daughters.
Gen 11:12  And Arpaḵshaḏ lived thirty-five years, and brought forth Shelaḥ.
Gen 11:13  And after he brought forth Shelaḥ, Arpaḵshaḏ lived four hundred and three years, and brought forth sons and daughters.
Gen 11:14  And Shelaḥ lived thirty years, and brought forth Ěḇer.
Gen 11:15  And after he brought forth Ěḇer, Shelaḥ lived four hundred and three years, and brought forth sons and daughters.
Gen 11:16  And Ěḇer lived thirty-four years, and brought forth Peleḡ.
Gen 11:17  And after he brought forth Peleḡ, Ěḇer lived four hundred and thirty years, and brought forth sons and daughters.
Gen 11:18  And Peleḡ lived thirty years, and brought forth Reʽu.
Gen 11:19  And after he brought forth Reʽu, Peleḡ lived two hundred and nine years, and brought forth sons and daughters.
Gen 11:20  And Reʽu lived thirty-two years, and brought forth Seruḡ.
Gen 11:21  And after he brought forth Seruḡ, Reʽu lived two hundred and seven years, and brought forth sons and daughters.
Gen 11:22  And Seruḡ lived thirty years, and brought forth Naḥor.
Gen 11:23  And after he brought forth Naḥor, Seruḡ lived two hundred years, and brought forth sons and daughters.
Gen 11:24  And Naḥor lived twenty-nine years, and brought forth Teraḥ.
Gen 11:25  And after he brought forth Teraḥ, Naḥor lived one hundred and nineteen years, and brought forth sons and daughters.
Gen 11:26  And Teraḥ lived seventy years, and brought forth Aḇram, Naḥor, and Haran.
Gen 11:27  And this is the genealogy of Teraḥ: Teraḥ brought forth Aḇram, Naḥor, and Haran. And Haran brought forth Lot.
Gen 11:28  And Haran died before his father Teraḥ in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Chaldeans.
Gen 11:29  And Aḇram and Naḥor took wives: the name of Aḇram’s wife was Sarai, and the name of Naḥor’s wife, Milkah, the daughter of Haran the father of Milkah and the father of Yiskah.
Gen 11:30  And Sarai was barren, she had no child.
Gen 11:31  And Teraḥ took his son Aḇram and his grandson Lot, son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, his son Aḇram’s wife, and they went out with them from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the land of Kenaʽan. And they came to Ḥaran and dwelt there.
Gen 11:32  And the days of Teraḥ came to be two hundred and five years, and Teraḥ died in Ḥaran.

Midrash on Fatherhood.

This Torah portion stirs up some deep issues about what happens when fatherhood is undermined. It also reminds us to consider the blessing we were meant to receive from our fathers.

The religion of men seems to be deeply influenced by the demonic principality of the Queen of Heaven. This spirit seeks to undermine the significant role of fatherhood, both physically and spiritually.
We need to remind ourselves that the only way we can come to Yahshua is if the Father YHVH makes it possible.

Joh 6:44  “No one is able to come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him. And I shall raise him up in the last day.
Joh 6:45  “It has been written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by יהוה.’ Everyone, then, who has heard from the Father, and learned, comes to Me.

Yahshua states again and again that the Father is greater than him and he can do nothing unless the Father – YHVH – shows him and guides him.
