Blessing for the Torah:
Baruch atah YHVH, Eloheynu, Melech ha-O’lam,
asher bachar banu m’kol ha-amim,v’natan lanu
eht Torah-to.
Baruch
atah YHVH, noteyn ha-Torah. Ameyn.”
(Blessed are you, YHVH, our Elohim , King of the Universe, you have selected us
(Blessed are you, YHVH, our Elohim , King of the Universe, you have selected us
from among all the peoples,and
have given us your Torah. Blessed are you,
YHVH, giver of the Torah. Ameyn.)
the only Supreme Ruler and Creator of all things in heaven and on earth. The Haftorah portion
of our Parashah says that this will change in the last days.
Added to this insult is the teaching of Christianity that YHVH could never have managed to save us without the help of Yahshua.
YHVH doesn’t need anyone
for anything, but we, including Messiah need YHVH for everything. And we
without the life and example of Messiah will never be able to be one with the
Father – this too was YHVH’s plan. Yahshua came to show and teach us that YHVH
and YHVH alone has control over all of life, because He and He alone is the
giver and sustainer of all life, including the life of Messiah.
That’s how we know that
Yahshua was the Messiah. No one else ever in the history of man has shown us
more clearly the way back to the Father – the way of our redemption. No one
except Messiah has shown us how central and important YHVH our Father is and
will be forever and that Yahshua is the ONLY Mediator between men and Elohim.
(1Ti 2:5 For there is one Elohim,1 and one Mediator
between Elohim and men, the Man Messiah יהושע,
Foornote: 11 Cor. 8:6, Eph. 4:6, Mk. 12:29-34. 1Ti 2:6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be
witnessed in its own seasons,…)
This statement sounds too
radical to be the truth – but what if it is the truth? Maybe it’s only when we
begin to acknowledge and embrace this truth that our lives and the world begin
to function the way it was meant to.
Zec 14:9
And יהוה shall be Sovereign over all the
earth1. In that day there shall be one יהוה, and His Name one. Footnote: 1Isa.
24:23, Dan. 2:44, Rev. 11:15.
Our portion from the
Nazarene Talmud (Second Writings) supports the significance of this truth.
Mar 12:28
And one of the scribes coming near, hearing them reasoning together,
knowing that He had answered them well, asked Him, “Which is the first command
of all?”
Mar 12:29
And יהושע answered him, “The first of all
the commands is, ‘Hear, O Yisra’ĕl, יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one.
Mar 12:30 ‘And you shall love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart,
and with all your being, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’
This is the first command.
Mar 12:31 “And the second, like it,
is this, ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no other command
greater than these.”
Mar 12:32 And the scribe said to
Him, “Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth, for there is one Elohim,
and there is no other besides Him.
Mar 12:33 “And to love Him with all
the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the being, and with all
the strength, and to love one’s neighbour as oneself, is more than all the
burnt offerings and offerings.”
Mar 12:34 And when
יהושע saw that he answered wisely, He said to him, “You are not far
from the reign of Elohim.” And after that no one was bold enough to
question Him.
This would have been a golden opportunity for Yahshua to say that the most
important thing in this life is to say the sinners prayer and accept him as
your savior – but Yahshua didn’t say this.
Yahshua knew that the only way to come to him was if the Father made it
possible.
Joh 6:44
“No one is able to come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him.
And I shall raise him up in the last day.
Joh 6:45
“It has been written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by יהוה.’ Everyone, then, who has heard(shemah)
from the Father, and learned, comes to Me.
Yoch/John 6:45 הלא כתוב בנביאים וכל־בניך
למודי יהוה לכן כל אשר שמע מן־האב ולמד יבא אלי׃
And so we approach the most well- known words in all of the Torah.
Deu
6:4 “Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one!
ד שְׁמַע, יִשְׂרָאֵל:
יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ, יְהוָה אֶחָד.
Note the enlarged “Ayin” and enlarged “Daleth.” The Hebrew word “Ayin
Daleth” pronounced “Ed” means a “witness.” When Ayin Daleth is pronounced “Ad”
it means eternal. Together we conclude that those who declare the “Shema” in “Spirit
and in Truth” are the eternal witnesses of YHVH.
Paradoxically “Ed” spelled the same as “witness” in Hebrew can also refer
to a woman’s menstrual cloth – see Yesh/Is 64:6
Who must hear?
Yisrael!
This implies that those who are not grafted into Yisrael will have
difficulty in hearing YHVH. These people will only be able to hear the truth
from those who are hearing YHVH.
It is dangerous to listen to teachers that are not hearing that YHVH and
YHVH alone is YHVH.
Amo 3:1
Hear(shemah) this word that יהוה has spoken against you, O
children of Yisra’ĕl, against the entire clan which I brought up from the land
of Mitsrayim, saying,
Amo 3:2 “You alone have I known of all the clans of the earth, therefore I
punish you for all your crookednesses.”
The very fact that
YHVH has called us to obey Him proves that He has chosen us
Isa 43:10
“You are My witnesses,” declares יהוה, “And My servant whom I have
chosen, so that you know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me
there was no Ěl formed, nor after Me there is none.
Isa 43:11 “I, I am יהוה, and besides Me there is no
saviour.
Isa 45:5
‘I am יהוה, and there is none else – there
is no Elohim besides Me. I gird you, though you have not known Me,
Isa 45:6 so that they know from the
rising of the sun to its setting that there is none but Me. I am יהוה, and there is none else,
Isa 45:7 forming
light and creating darkness, making peace and creating evil. I, יהוה, do all these.’
Deu 6:5 “And you shall
love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and
with all your might.
You can only really love someone you know.
Rom 5:5
…. the love of Elohim has been poured out in our hearts by the Set-apart
Spirit which was given to us.
Joh 3:8
“The Spirit1 breathes where it wishes, and you hear the sound
of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone
who has been born of the Spirit.” Footnote: 1Or wind.
Deu 6:6 “And these Words which I am commanding you
today shall be in your heart,
Deu 6:7 and you shall impress(shinantam) them upon
your children, and shall speak of them when you sit in your house, and when you
walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up,
“Shinantam” translated as “impress or teach” implies an
impartation (sharpening S8150) of the knowledge of Torah in such a way that the
children can commit to memory and are empowered to relate these words back to
you and others and are able to walk in the revelation of Torah.
Deu 6:8 and shall bind them as a sign on your hand,
and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
Deu 6:9 “And you shall write them on the doorposts of
your house and on your gates.
Deu 6:10 “And it shall be, when יהוה your Elohim brings you into the
land of which He swore to your fathers, to Aḇraham, to Yitsḥaq, and to Yaʽaqoḇ, to give you great and good
cities which you did not build,
Deu 6:11 and houses filled with all kinds of goods,
which you did not fill, and wells dug which you did not dig, vineyards and
olive trees which you did not plant, and you shall eat and be satisfied –
Deu 6:12 be on guard, lest you forget יהוה who brought you out of the land
of Mitsrayim, from the house of bondage.
Deu 6:13 “Fear יהוה your Elohim and serve Him, and
swear by His Name.
See also 10:20 – It appears that the Torah allows even
commands us to take an oath. This command implies that if you take an oath it
can and must only be in the name of YHVH. It seems that oaths were taken in the
names of a variety of other things and names except in the name of YHVH.
For example – “I swear on my mother’s grave.”
Maybe to “swear by His Name” is to come to the
realization there is no other name under heaven or earth by which man can be
saved except by or in His Name – Acts 4:12 -
Yahshua’s name means “Yah is salvation”
Deu 6:14 “Do not go after other mighty ones, the
mighty ones of the peoples who are all around you,
“Mighty ones” that rob or obscure YHVH of His Prominence.
Deu 6:15 for יהוה your Elohim is a jealous Ěl in
your midst, lest the displeasure of יהוה your Elohim burn against you,
then He shall destroy you from the face of the earth.
Deu 6:16 “Do not try יהוה your Elohim as you tried Him in
Massah.
Massah or Merribah in Hebrew “temptation” – where the Yisraelites grumbled
against YHVH because they had no water.
The Yisraelites underestimated who YHVH was and what He could do.
It is dangerous to test YHVH because a day will come when His Patience is
worn out and anger of YHVH will be unleashed on those who continually
underestimate or misrepresent Him.
Deu 6:17 “Diligently guard the commands of יהוה your Elohim, and His witnesses,
and His laws which He has commanded you.
Deu 6:18 “And
you shall do what is right and good in the eyes of יהוה, that it might be well with you, and you shall go in and possess the good
land of which יהוה swore to your fathers,
Deu 6:19 to drive out all your enemies from before
you, as יהוה has spoken.
Deu 6:20 “When your son asks you in time to come,
saying, ‘What is the meaning of the witnesses, and the laws, and the
right-rulings which יהוה our Elohim has commanded you?’
Deu 6:21 then you shall say to your son, ‘We were
slaves of Pharaoh in Mitsrayim, and יהוה brought us out of Mitsrayim with
a strong hand,
Deu 6:22 and יהוה sent signs and wonders, great
and grievous, upon Mitsrayim, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before
our eyes.
Deu 6:23 ‘And He brought us out from there, to bring
us in, to give us the land of which He swore to our fathers.
Deu 6:24 ‘And יהוה commanded us to do all these
laws, to fear יהוה our Elohim, for our good always, to keep us alive, as it is
today.
Deu 6:25 ‘And it
is righteousness for us when we guard to do all this command before יהוה our Elohim, as He has commanded
us.’
Rom
8:4 so that the righteousness of the
Torah should be completed in us who do not walk according to the flesh but
according to the Spirit.
If
you are truly filled with the Ruach – you will walk in all of Torah.
Deu 7:1 “When יהוה your Elohim brings you into the
land which you go to possess, He shall also clear away many nations before you:
the Ḥittites and the Girgashites
and the Amorites and the Kenaʽanites and the Perizzites and the Ḥiwwites and the Yeḇusites, seven nations greater
and mightier than you.
Deu 7:2 “And when יהוה your Elohim gives them over to
you, you shall smite them and put them under the ban, completely. Make no
covenant with them, and show them no favour.
Deu 7:3 “And do not intermarry with them – you do not
give your daughter to his son, and you do not take his daughter for your son,
Deu 7:4 for he turns your sons away from following
Me, to serve other mighty ones. Then the displeasure of יהוה shall burn against you and
promptly destroy you.
Deu 7:5 “But this is what you do to them: Break down
their altars, and smash their pillars, and cut down their Ashĕrim, and burn
their carved images with fire.
Deu 7:6 “For you are a set-apart people to יהוה your Elohim. יהוה your Elohim has chosen you to be
a people for Himself, a treasured possession above all the peoples on the face
of the earth.
Deu 7:7 “יהוה did not set His love on you nor
choose you because you were more numerous than any other people, for you were
the least of all peoples,
Deu 7:8 but because of יהוה loving you, and because of Him
guarding the oath which He swore to your fathers, יהוה has brought you out with a
strong hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of
Pharaoh sovereign of Mitsrayim.
Eze 36:22 “Therefore say to the
house of Yisra’ĕl, ‘Thus said the Master יהוה, “I do not do this for your sake, O house of Yisra’ĕl, but for
My set-apart Name’s sake, which you have profaned among the gentiles wherever
you went.
Eze 36:23 “And I shall set apart My
great Name, which has been profaned among the gentiles, which you have profaned
in their midst. And the gentiles shall know that I am יהוה,” declares the Master יהוה, “when I am set-apart in you
before their eyes.
Deu 7:9 “And you shall know that יהוה your Elohim, He is Elohim, the
trustworthy Ěl guarding covenant and kindness for a thousand generations with
those who love Him, and those who guard His commands,
Deu 7:10 but repaying those who hate Him to their
face, to destroy them. He does not delay to do so with him who hates
Him, He repays him to his face.
Deu 7:11 “And you shall guard the command, and the
laws, and the right-rulings which I command you today, to do them.
Deu 7:12 “And it shall be, because you hear these
right-rulings, and shall guard and do them, that יהוה your Elohim shall guard with you
the covenant and the kindness which He swore to your fathers,
Deu 7:13 and shall love you and bless you and increase
you, and shall bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your land, your
grain and your new wine and your oil, the increase of your cattle and the
offspring of your flock, in the land of which He swore to your fathers to give
you.
Deu 7:14 “Blessed are you above all peoples – there is
not going to be a barren man or a barren woman among you or among your
livestock.
Deu 7:15 “And יהוה shall turn away from you all
sickness and put on you none of the evil diseases of Mitsrayim which you have
known, but He shall put them on all those who hate you.
Deu 7:16 “And you shall consume all the peoples whom יהוה your Elohim is delivering over
to you – your eye shall not pardon them (you
shall not look upon them with compassion). And do not serve their mighty
ones, for that is a snare to you.
Deu 7:17 “When(though) you say in your heart, ‘These
nations are greater than I, I am unable to drive them out,’
Deu 7:18 do not be afraid of them. Remember well what יהוה your Elohim did to Pharaoh and
to all Mitsrayim,
Deu 7:19 the great trials which your eyes saw, and the
signs and the wonders, the strong hand and the outstretched arm, by which יהוה your Elohim brought you out. יהוה your Elohim does so to all the
peoples of whom you are afraid.
Deu 7:20 “And יהוה your Elohim also sends the
hornet among them until those who are left, who hide themselves from you, are
destroyed.
Deu 7:21 “Do not be afraid of them, for יהוה your Elohim, the great and
awesome Ěl, is in your midst.
Deu 7:22 “And יהוה your Elohim shall drive out
those nations before you, little by little. You are not allowed to destroy them
at once, lest the beasts of the field become too numerous for you.
Deu 7:23 “But יהוה your Elohim shall deliver them
over to you and destroy them with a great destruction until they are consumed.
Deu 7:24 “And He shall give their sovereigns into your
hand, and you shall destroy their name from under the heavens. No one is going
to be able to stand against you until you have destroyed them.
Deu 7:25 “The carved images of their mighty ones you
are to burn with fire. Do not covet the silver or gold that is on them, nor
take it for yourselves, lest you be snared by it, for it is an abomination to יהוה your Elohim.
Deu 7:26 “And do not bring an abomination
into your house, lest you be accursed like it. Utterly loathe it and utterly
hate it, for it is accursed.
