Blessing
for the Torah Reading:
Baruch atah YHVH, Eloheynu, Melech ha-O’lam, asher

(Blessed are you, YHVH, our Elohim , King of the
Universe, you have selected us from among all the peoples, and have given us your Torah.
Blessed are you, YHVH, giver of the Torah. Ameyn.)
"Thus
the tales related in the Torah are simply her outer garments, and woe to the
man who regards that outer garb as the Torah itself, for such a man will be
deprived of portion in the next world. Thus David said: 'Open Thou mine eyes,
that I may behold wondrous things out of Thy law' (Psalms 119:18), that is to
say, the things that are underneath” - Zohar
Exo 34:27 And יהוה said to
Mosheh, “Write these Words, for according to the mouth of these Words I have
made a covenant with you and with Yisra’ĕl.”
Exo 34:28 And he was there with יהוה forty days and
forty nights. He did not eat bread and he did not drink water. And He wrote on
the tablets the Words of the covenant, the Ten Words.
Exo 34:29 And it
came to be, when Mosheh came down from Mount Sinai, while the two tablets of
the Witness were in Mosheh’s hand when he came down from the mountain, that
Mosheh did not know that the skin of his face shone since he had spoken with
Him.
Exo 34:30 And
Aharon and all the children of Yisra’ĕl looked at Mosheh and saw the skin of
his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him.
Moshe may have experienced what our first father and
mother experienced in the garden of Eden – Moshe radiated the esteem or the
light of YHVH. The Hebrew word for “light” is “or” ( the Hebrew letters aleph,
vav, resh). The Hebrew word for “skin” is also “or”(the Hebrew letters ayin,
vav, resh).
Exo 34:31 But
Mosheh called out to them, and Aharon and all the rulers of the congregation
returned to him, and Mosheh spoke to them.
Exo 34:32 And
afterward all the children of Yisra’ĕl came near, and he commanded them all
that יהוה had spoken with him on Mount Sinai.
Exo 34:33 And when
Mosheh ended speaking with them, he put a veil on his face.
Exo 34:34 But
whenever Mosheh went in before יהוה to speak with
Him, he would remove the veil until he came out. And when he came out he spoke
to the children of Yisra’ĕl what he had been commanded,
Exo 34:35 and the
children of Yisra’ĕl would see the face of Mosheh, that the skin of Mosheh’s
face shone, and Mosheh would put the veil on his face again, until he went in
to speak with Him.
Exo 35:1 And Mosheh assembled all the congregation of
the children of Yisra’ĕl, and said to them, “These are the Words which יהוה has commanded
you to do:
The reason we are called to
come together in set apartness is because we are to be reminded again and again
to hear, obey and do all the commandments of YHVH. The
word ”kehelah” comes from the title of this week’s portion which means an
”assembly of people.” The Greek word ”ekklesia” is also related to this word.
Let it be stated clearly that YHVH will never ever call
an assembly of His set apart ones WITH ANY OTHER AGENDA THAN TO HEAR OBEY AND
DO ALL OF HIS TORAH.
We know that presently it is impossible to obey and do
all of Torah because there is no temple and we are outside of the land of
Yisrael.
Sadly most religious meetings either ignore the Torah or
misrepresent the Torah.
Exo 35:2 “Work is
done for six days, but on the seventh day it shall be set-apart to you, a
Sabbath of rest to יהוה. Anyone doing
work on it is put to death.
Exo 35:3 “Do not
kindle (ba ar) a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day.”
The very first duty Yisrael is called upon to perform is
that of the Sabbath.
The work of gathering and preparing a fire is
clearly what is prohibited. Just as the work of preparing food or
collecting food or wood is prohibited on the seventh day, the preparing and
collecting (grazing –Heb “ba ar” pi el verb S 1197) of wood (for the fire) is
prohibited on the Sabbath.
Exo 35:4 And
Mosheh spoke to all the congregation of the children of Yisra’ĕl, saying, “This
is the word which יהוה commanded,
saying,
Exo 35:5 ‘Take
from among you a contribution to יהוה. Everyone
whose heart so moves him, let him bring it as a contribution to יהוה: gold, and silver, and bronze,
Exo 35:6 and blue,
and purple, and scarlet material, and fine linen, and goats’ hair,
Exo 35:7 and ram
skins dyed red, and fine leather, and acacia wood,
Exo 35:8 and oil
for the light, and spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet incense,
Exo 35:9 and
shoham stones, and stones to be set in the shoulder garment and in the
breastplate.
Exo 35:10 ‘And let
all the wise-hearted among you come and make all that יהוה has commanded:
Exo 35:11 the
Dwelling Place, its tent and its covering, its hooks and its boards, its bars,
its columns, and its sockets,
Exo 35:12 the ark
and its poles, the lid of atonement and the veil of the covering,
Exo 35:13 the
table and its poles, and all its utensils, and the showbread,
Exo 35:14 and the
lampstand for the light, and its utensils, and its lamps, and the oil for the
light,
Exo 35:15 and the
incense altar, and its poles, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and
the covering for the door at the entrance of the Dwelling Place,
Exo 35:16 the
altar of burnt offering with its bronze grating, its poles, and all its
utensils, the basin and its stand,
Exo 35:17 the
screens of the courtyard, its columns, and their sockets, and the covering for
the gate of the courtyard,
Exo 35:18 the pegs
of the Dwelling Place, and the pegs of the courtyard, and their cords,
Exo 35:19 the
woven garments to do service in the set-apart place, the set-apart garments for
Aharon the priest and the garments of his sons to serve as priests.’ ”
Exo 35:20 And all
the congregation of the children of Yisra’ĕl withdrew from the presence of
Mosheh.
Exo 35:21 And
everyone whose heart lifted him up and everyone whose spirit moved him came,
and they brought the contribution to יהוה for the work
of the Tent of Meeting, and for all its service, and for the set-apart
garments.
Exo 35:22 And they
came, both men and women, all whose hearts moved them, and brought earrings and
nose rings, and rings and necklaces, all golden goods, even every one who made
a wave offering of gold to יהוה.
Exo 35:23 And
every man, with whom was found blue and purple and scarlet material, and
fine linen, and goats’ hair, and rams’ skins dyed red, and fine leather,
brought them.
Exo 35:24 Everyone
who would make a contribution to יהוה of silver or
bronze, brought it. And everyone with whom was found acacia wood for any work
of the service, brought it.
Exo 35:25 And all
the wise-hearted women spun yarn with their hands, and brought what they had
spun, the blue and the purple, the scarlet material, and the fine linen.
Exo 35:26 And all
the women whose hearts lifted them up in wisdom spun the goats’ hair.
Exo 35:27 And the
rulers brought shoham stones, and the stones to be set in the shoulder garment
and in the breastplate,
Exo 35:28 and the
spices and the oil for the light, and for the anointing oil, and for the sweet
incense.
Exo 35:29 The
children of Yisra’ĕl brought a voluntary offering to יהוה, all the men and women whose hearts moved
them to bring all kinds of work which יהוה, by the hand of
Mosheh, had commanded to be done.
Exo 35:30 And
Mosheh said to the children of Yisra’ĕl, “See, יהוה has called by
name Betsal’ĕl son of Uri, son of Ḥur, of
the tribe of Yehuḏah,
Exo 35:31 and He
has filled him with the Spirit of Elohim, in wisdom, in understanding, and in
knowledge, and in all work,
Exo 35:32 to make
designs, to work in gold and in silver and in bronze,
Exo 35:33 and in
cutting of stones for setting, and in carving wood, and to work in all
workmanship of design.
Exo 35:34 “And He
has put in his heart the ability to teach, in him and Oholiaḇ son
of Aḥisamaḵ, of the tribe of Dan.
Exo 35:35 “He has
filled them with skill to do all work of the engraver and the designer and
embroiderer, in blue and in purple, in scarlet material, and in fine
linen, and a weaver, doing any work, and makers of designs.
Exo 36:1 “And Betsal’ĕl and Oholiaḇ, and every
wise-hearted man in whom יהוה has given
wisdom and understanding, to know how to do all work for the service of the
set-apart place, shall do according to all that יהוה has
commanded.”
Exo 36:2 And
Mosheh called Betsal’ĕl and Oholiaḇ, and
every wise-hearted man in whose heart יהוה had given
wisdom, everyone whose heart lifted him up, to come and do the work.
Exo 36:3 And they
received from Mosheh all the contribution which the children of Yisra’ĕl had
brought for the work of the service of making the set-apart place. But they
still brought to him voluntary offerings every morning,
Exo 36:4 so all
the craftsmen who were doing all the work of the set-apart place came, each
from the work he was doing,
Exo 36:5 and they
spoke to Mosheh, saying, “The people bring much more than enough for the
service of the work which יהוה commanded us
to do.”
Exo 36:6 Then
Mosheh commanded and they sent this word throughout the camp, saying, “Let
neither man nor woman do any more work for the contribution of the set-apart
place.” And the people were withheld from bringing,
Exo 36:7 for what
they had was enough for all the work to be done, more than enough.
Exo 36:8 Then all
the wise-hearted ones among them who worked on the Dwelling Place made ten
curtains woven of fine linen and blue and purple and scarlet material.
They made them with keruḇim, the work of a skilled workman.
Exo 36:9 The
length of each curtain was twenty-eight cubits, and the width of each curtain
four cubits, all the curtains having one measure.
Exo 36:10 And he
joined five curtains, one to another; and the other five curtains he joined,
one to another.
Exo 36:11 And he
made loops of blue on the edge of the end curtain of one set, the same he did
on the edge of the end curtain of the other set.
Exo 36:12 Fifty
loops he made on one curtain, and fifty loops he made on the edge of the end
curtain of the second set; the loops held one curtain to another.
Exo 36:13 And he
made fifty hooks of gold, and joined the curtains to each other with the hooks,
and the Dwelling Place became one.
Exo 36:14 And he
made curtains of goats’ hair for the tent over the Dwelling Place, he
made eleven curtains.
Exo 36:15 The
length of each curtain was thirty cubits, and the width of each curtain four
cubits, the eleven curtains having one measure.
Exo 36:16 And he
joined five curtains by themselves and six curtains by themselves.
Exo 36:17 And he
made fifty loops on the edge of the end curtain in one set, and fifty loops he
made on the edge of the curtain of the second set.
Exo 36:18 And he
made fifty bronze hooks to join the tent, to be one.
Exo 36:19 And he
made a covering for the tent of rams’ skins, dyed red, and a covering of fine
leather above that.
Exo 36:20 And for
the Dwelling Place he made boards of acacia wood, standing up.
Exo 36:21 The
length of each board was ten cubits, and the width of each board a cubit and a
half.
Exo 36:22 Each
board had two tenons for binding one to another. So he did to all the boards of
the Dwelling Place.
Exo 36:23 And he
made boards for the Dwelling Place, twenty boards for the south side.
Exo 36:24 And he
made forty sockets of silver to go under the twenty boards, and two sockets
under each of the boards for its two tenons.
Exo 36:25 And for
the other side of the Dwelling Place, for the north side, he made twenty
boards,
Exo 36:26 and
their forty sockets of silver, two sockets under the one board, and two sockets
under the other board.
Exo 36:27 And he
made six boards for the west side of the Dwelling Place.
Exo 36:28 And he
made two boards for the two back corners of the Dwelling Place.
Exo 36:29 And they
were double beneath, and similarly they were complete to the top by one ring.
So he did to both of them for the two corners.
Exo 36:30 And
there were eight boards, and their silver sockets, sixteen sockets, two sockets
under each of the boards.
Exo 36:31 And he
made bars of acacia wood, five for the boards on one side of the Dwelling
Place,
Exo 36:32 and five
bars for the boards on the other side of the Dwelling Place, and five bars for
the boards of the Dwelling Place at the rear, westward.
Exo 36:33 And he
made the middle bar to pass through the boards from one end to the other.
Exo 36:34 And he
overlaid the boards with gold, and their rings he made of gold to be holders
for the bars, and overlaid the bars with gold.
Exo 36:35 And he
made a veil of blue and purple and scarlet material, and fine worked
linen. It was made with keruḇim, the work of a skilled workman.
Exo 36:36 And he
made four columns of acacia wood for it, and overlaid them with gold, with
their hooks of gold. And he cast four sockets of silver for them.
Exo 36:37 And he
made a covering for the Tent door of blue and purple and scarlet material
and fine woven linen, made by a weaver,
Exo 36:38 and its
five columns with their hooks. And he overlaid their tops and their rings with
gold, but their five sockets were of bronze.
We who have come out of the Pentecostal Charismatic
movement need to take another careful look at the gifts and ministries of the
Ruach Ha Kodesh (Set Apart Spirit).
These gifts and manifestations were meant to build up and
establish the “Kehelah” (assembly) of YHVH in such a way that they could
function according to the instructions of Torah to be a light to the gentiles.
The gifts and ministries of the Ruach of YHVH have been
given to conform His Kehelah into the image of Messiah.
It will only be a corporate anointing working in unity
amongst the Redeemed of Yisrael that will bring about a perfect union between
Yahshua and His Bride.
We are commanded to be filled with the Spirit.
Eph 5:18 …. be filled
with the Spirit,
Eph 5:19 speaking to each other in psalms and songs of
praise and spiritual songs, singing and striking the strings in your heart to
the Master,
We need to humble ourselves and pray and ask YHVH to show
us what hinders the moving of His Ruach amongst us.
We see a pattern right in the beginning of Torah. Where
there is chaos and turmoil on the earth YHVH “blows” His Ruach over the chaos
to create what is good and perfect and pleasing in His Eyes.
Note the pattern of Shavuot/“Pentecost” in the book of
Acts. There were first a small
group of people who received the infilling of the Ruach. This prepared the
way for an even greater outpouring on the 3000
and then subsequent outpourings mentioned in the book of Acts. These
vessels (people) were “Torah shaped” and Torah prepared. The Ruach of YHVH
CANNOT occupy a vessel that has not been shaped and formed by His Word – His
Torah.
Gen 1:1 In the beginning Elohim created the heavens
and the earth.
Gen 1:2 And the earth came to be1 formless
and empty, and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Elohim
was moving on the face of the waters. Footnote: 1Or the earth
became.
The Hebrew words for “formless and void” (tohu vavohu)
cannot be directly translated and implies an “astonishing emptiness.” This
emptiness or vanity can be caused by idolatry.
Today after many centuries of disregard for YHVH’s Torah
we have an astonishing emptiness of an understanding of YHVH and His Ways.
And most of us don’t even realize it.
At
the end of this age YHVH will once again “breath” (pour out His Ruach) on an
end time Messianic people. Shavuout (Pentecost) cannot be separated from the
giving of the Torah (mattan ha torah)
Joe 2:28 “And after this it shall be that I pour out
My Spirit on all flesh. And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your
old men dream dreams, your young men see visions.
Joe 2:29 “And also on the male servants and on the
female servants I shall pour out My Spirit in those days.
Joe 2:30 “And I shall give signs in the heavens and
upon the earth: blood and fire and columns of smoke,
Joe 2:31 the sun is turned into darkness, and the moon
into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of יהוה.
Yahshua
commanded his Talmadim after his death to wait until Shavuot (Pentecost) when
they too would be empowered by the Spirit of YHVH to proclaim the Kingdom of YHVH
to all nations.
The
world has never seen a messianic community as vibrant and zealous for the Torah
as this first community in Yerushalayim after receiving the fullness of the
Ruach Ha Kodesh.
Act 21:20 And when they heard it, they praised the
Master. And they said to him, “You see, brother, how many thousands of Yehuḏim there are who have
believed, (in Yahshua Messiah) and all are ardent for the Torah.
The second writings (New Testament) have much
“halachah” guidance on how the Ruach of YHVH equips His people to bring about a
people who worship YHVH in Spirit and truth.
It is significant that
when these instructions of the gifts and enabling of the Ruach were given
before the destruction of the Temple.
We believe that when
Messiah returns the temple will be rebuilt in Yerushalayim and all the gifts
and ministry of the Ruach will be in operation alongside the teaching of Torah
and the true worship of YHVH during the millennium.
We see the gifts of the Ruach:
1Co 12:7 And to each one is given the manifestation of
the Spirit for profiting,
1Co 12:8 for to one is given a word of wisdom through
the Spirit, and to another a word of knowledge according to the same Spirit,
1Co 12:9 and to another belief by the same Spirit, and
to another gifts of healing by the same Spirit,
1Co 12:10 and to another operations of powers, and to
another prophecy, and to another discerning of spirits, and to another kinds of
tongues, and to another interpretation of tongues.
1Co 12:11 But one and the same Spirit works all these,
distributing to each one individually as He intends.
1Co 12:12 For as the body is one and has many members,
but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is the
Messiah.
1Co 12:13 For indeed by one Spirit we were all immersed
into one body, whether Yehuḏim or Greeks, whether
slaves or free, and we were all made to drink into one Spirit.
The motivational gifts
of the Ruach:
Look at the following
list of questions to obtain a better idea of your spiritual gifting.
Rom 12:6 Now having different gifts, according to the
favour which was given to us, let us use them accordingly: if prophecy,
according to the proportion of belief;
Rom 12:7 if serving, in the serving; or he who is
teaching, in the teaching;
Rom 12:8 or he who encourages, in the encouragement;
or he who is sharing, in sincerity; he who is leading, in diligence; he who
shows compassion, joyously.
The seven motivational
or character gifts are: prophetic, serving, teaching, encouraging, sharer or
giver, leading and showing compassion.
These giftings often
appear in clusters in our lives and usually one of them tends to dominate and
determines what kind of a person we are.
Then the third group
of giftings are known as the body gifts (for the equipping od the body of
Messiah):
Eph 4:11 And He Himself gave some as emissaries, and
some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as shepherds and teachers
Eph 4:12 for the perfecting of the set-apart ones, to
the work of service to a building up of the body of the Messiah,
Eph 4:13 until we all come to the unity of the belief
and of the knowledge of the Son of Elohim, to a perfect man, to the measure of
the stature of the completeness of Messiah,
Eph 4:14 so that we should no longer be children,
tossed and borne about by every wind of teaching, by the trickery of men, in
cleverness, unto the craftiness of leading astray,1 Footnote: 15:6,
also 2 Cor. 10:5, 2 Cor. 11:3-14, Gal. 1:6-9, 2 Tim. 3:1-8, 2 Tim. 4:2-4, 2
Peter 2:2-22, Jud. vv. 10-19.
Eph 4:15 but, maintaining the truth in love, we grow
up in all respects into Him who is the head, Messiah,
Then we have the fruit of Ruach Ha Kodesh:
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,
peace, patience, kindness, goodness, trustworthiness,
Gal 5:23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there
is no Torah. (means no limit or regulation, as the Torah has its way in us this
fruit will begin to show more and more in our lives)
Sadly we have not
witnessed a credible operation and manifestation of these gifts and callings in
the body of Messiah since the days of the first writings.
The credibility and
power of these gifts will once again operate only when the Torah of YHVH is
once again embraced and restored as it was by the first Messianic community.
Baruch atah YHVH, Eloheynu,
Melech ha-‘Olam, asher natan lanu Toraht-emet, v’chay-yeh o’lam nata-b’tochenu.
Baruch atah YHVH, noteyn ha-Torah. Ameyn.”
(Blessed are you Yahweh, our Elohim, King of the
Universe, you have given us your Torah of truth, and have planted everlasting
life within our midst. Blessed are you, Yahweh giver of the Torah – Ameyn
