Mat 22:29
And יהושע answering, said to them, “You go astray,
not knowing the Scriptures (Ketuvim))or the power of Elohim.
Footnote: 1Mk. 12:24.
If you know the writings (Ketuvim) will you know the
Torah and the prophets?
Mattithayu records 5 sermons or discourses
made by our Master. On closer examination of these five discourses we find
significant parallels to the five books of the Torah.
These
similarities prove that believers in Yahshua were never meant to distance
themselves and the Second Writings(New Testament) from the Torah.
Hebrew name - Mattithyahu: "gift of
Yah"
Mattityahu
did not write the “first gospel” to introduce the church age – he wrote an
account of how Yahshua came to reveal the relevance of the Torah and to show us
how the Torah guides and keeps us in the Kingdom of YHVH.
“Mattityahu Levi was a tax collector in
Capernaum on Lake Kinneret [Sea of Galilee]. He worked in a Roman
customs house which was located in the area because of the bustling trade in
the area around the lake. Being a tax collector meant that Mattityahu held a
special Roman status; which afforded him societal position, and wealth
commensurate with it. His good status with the Romans was offset by the disdain
that many of his fellow countrymen held for him.”
1Co 1:26 For look at your calling, brothers, that
there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many
noble.
1Co 1:27 But Elohim has chosen the foolish matters
of the world to put to shame the wise, and Elohim has chosen the weak of the
world to put to shame the strong.
1Co 1:28 And Elohim has chosen the low-born of the
world and the despised, and the ones that are not, that He might bring to
naught the ones that are,
1Co 1:29 so that no flesh should boast in His
presence.
Mattityahu was a Levite.
Luk 5:27 And after this He went
out and saw a tax collector named Lĕwi, sitting at the tax office, and said to
him, “Follow Me.” (Mark 2:14)
A true Levite is one who
is called to represent the True Messiah as revealed in the Torah.
Levi or Mattityahu was
one of Yahshua’s 12 talmadim.
Major
theme of Mattityahu: - “living in the kingdom now” – in the midst of a
spiritual tension of the” already but not yet fully” Kingdom realization. (Paul
addresses this issue in his letters)
It
becomes obvious as you read the second writings that many of the Jewish people
felt a sense of entitlement towards the kingdom to come. Today many Jews and
Christians believe they will be granted automatic access into the “olam ha ba”(
the world to come) simply because they are Jewish or born again Christians.
Mattityahu makes it very clear
from Yahshua’s five sermons how the believer enters and becomes part of the Kingdom
of YHVH forever – see Yoh 3:3-9 – note the difference on “seeing” and “entering”
into the Kingdom of YHVH.
Eternal punishment and loss of
reward.
It is fearful
to consider that in the accounts of Yahshua’s life – he speaks about eternal
punishment more than eternal rewards. His warning was directed to those who
considered themselves believers of the truth.
Mat 23:15 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees,
hypocrites! Because you go about the land and the sea to win one convert, and
when he is won, you make him a son of Gehenna twofold more than yourselves.
Mat 23:31 “Thus you bear witness against yourselves
that you are sons of those who did murder the prophets
Mat 23:32 and you fill up the measure of your fathers!
Mat 23:33 “Serpents, brood of adders! How would you
escape the judgment of Gehenna?
14
times Yahshua uses the word “woe” which means cursed.
Mat 5:22 “But I say to you that whoever is wroth with
his brother without a cause shall be liable to judgment. And whoever says to
his brother, ‘Raka!’ shall be liable to the Sanhedrin. But whoever says, ‘You
fool!’ shall be liable to fire of Gehenna.
Mat 5:29 “And if your right eye causes you to stumble,
pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is better for you that one of
your members perish, than for your entire body to be thrown into Gehenna.
Mat 5:30 “And if your right hand causes you to
stumble, cut it off and throw it away from you. For it is better for you that
one of your members perish, than for your entire body to be thrown into
Gehenna.
Mat 10:28 “And do not fear those who kill the body but
are unable to kill the being. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both
being and body in Gehenna.
Mat 11:23 And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to the
heaven, shall be brought down to hell. For if the mighty works which have been
done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
Mat 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Master,
Master,’ shall enter into the reign of the heavens, but he who is doing the
desire of My Father in the heavens.
Mat 7:22 “Many shall say to Me in that day, ‘Master,
Master, have we not prophesied in Your Name, and cast out demons in Your Name,
and done many mighty works in Your Name?’
Mat 7:23 “And then I shall declare to them, ‘I never
knew you, depart from Me, you who work lawlessness!’1 Footnote: 1
See v. 15.
Mat 7:12 “Therefore, whatever you wish men to do to
you, do also to them, for this is the Torah and the Prophets.
Mat 7:13 “Enter in through the narrow gate! Because
the gate is wide – and the way is broad – that leads to destruction, and there
are many who enter in through it.
Mat 7:14 “Because the gate is narrow and the way is
hard pressed1 which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Footnote: 1Or the way is afflicted.
Mat 7:15 “But beware of the false prophets,1
who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are savage wolves.
Footnote: 1See v. 23
Book of Mattityahu begins with the
genealogy of Messiah.
Mat 1:17 So all the generations from Aḇraham to Dawiḏ were fourteen
generations, and from Dawiḏ until the exile to
Baḇel were fourteen
generations, and from the exile to Baḇel
until the Messiah were fourteen generations.
Mat 2:4 And having gathered all the chief priests and
scribes of the people together, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born.
Mat 2:5 And they said to him, “In Bĕyth Leḥem of Yehuḏah, for thus it has
been written by the prophet,
Mat
2:6 ‘But you, Bĕyth Leḥem, in the land of
Yehuḏah, you are by no
means least among the rulers of Yehuḏah,
for out of you shall come a Ruler who shall shepherd My people Yisra’ĕl.’ ”1
Footnote: 1Mic. 5:2.
Mission and Calling of
Messiah.
Mat 5:17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the
Torah or the Prophets.1 I did not come to destroy but to complete.
Footnote: 1The Law and the Prophets is a term used for the
pre-Messianic Scriptures.
Mat 5:18 “For truly, I say to you, till the heaven and
the earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall by no means pass from the
Torah till all be done.1 Footnote: 1Lk. 16:17.
Mat 5:19 “Whoever, then, breaks one of the least of
these commands, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the reign of the
heavens; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the
reign of the heavens.
Mat 3:1 And in those days Yoḥanan the Immerser came
proclaiming in the wilderness of Yehuḏah,
Mat 3:2 and
saying, “Repent, for the reign of the heavens has come near!”
Mat 3:3 For
this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Yeshayahu, saying, “A voice of one
crying in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way of יהוה, make His
paths straight.’ ”1 Footnote:1Isa. 40:3.
Mat 3:4 And Yoḥanan
had a garment of camel’s hair, and a leather girdle around his waist. And his
food was locusts and wild honey.
Mat 3:5 Then
Yerushalayim, and all Yehuḏah, and all the country around the Yardĕn went out to
him,
Mat 3:6 and they
were immersed by him in the Yardĕn, confessing their sins.
Mat 3:7 And seeing
many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his immersion, he said to them,
“Brood of adders! Who has warned you to flee from the coming wrath?
Mat 3:8 “Bear,
therefore, fruits worthy of repentance,
Mat 3:9 and do not
think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Aḇraham
as father.’1 For I say to you that Elohim is able to raise up
children to Aḇraham from these stones. Footnote: 1John
8:33-34, Rom. 9:8.
Mat 3:10 “And the
axe is already laid to the root of the trees. Every tree, then, which does not
bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. (Yahshua introduces an
era where no mixture will be tolerated)
Mat
3:11 “I indeed immerse you in water unto
repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I
am not worthy to bear. He shall immerse you in the Set-apart Spirit and fire.
Mat 3:13 Then יהושע came from
Galil to Yoḥanan at the Yardĕn to be immersed by him.
Mat 3:14 But Yoḥanan
was hindering Him, saying, “I need to be immersed by You, and You come to me?”
Mat
3:15 But יהושע answering,
said to him, “Permit it now, for thus it is fitting for us to fill all
righteousness.” Then he permitted Him.
Like Moshe Yahshua goes into the wilderness and fasts for
40 days and 40 nights.
Mat 4:1 Then יהושע was led up by
the Spirit into the wilderness to be tried by the devil.
Mat 4:2 And after
having fasted forty days and forty nights, He was hungry.
Mat 4:3 And the
trier came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of Elohim, command that these
stones become bread.”
Mat
4:4 But He answering, said, “It has been
written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from
the mouth of יהוה.’ ”1
Footnote: 1Dt. 8:3. – (Torah)
Mat 4:17 From that time יהושע began to
proclaim and to say, “Repent, for the reign of the heavens has drawn near.”
Note Yahshua did not say the
Kingdom will come one day – he said the Kingdom had come.
Our disobedience to Yahshua and
His teachings have delayed us from entering into the fullness of His kingdom.
Mixed Multude.
Mat 4:24 And news about Him went out into all Syria.
And they brought to Him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and
pains, and those who were demon-possessed, and epileptics, and paralytics. And
He healed them.
Mat 4:25
And large crowds – from Galil, and Dekapolis, and Yerushalayim, and
Yehuḏah, and beyond the
Yardĕn – followed Him. (Mixed multitude)
Five Major Discourses or Sermons in Matthew
1. The Sermon on the Mount (5:1‑7:28)
2. The Missionary Discourse (10:1‑42)
3. The Parable Discourse (13:1‑53)
4. The Community Discourse (17:22‑18:35)
5. The Apocalyptic Discourse (24:1‑25:46)
1 Sermon on the mount 5:1-7:28 – “Ha
drasha al ha ar” - Beresheet/Genesis
Gen1:1-2
Gen 1:1 In the beginning Elohim created the heavens
and the earth.
Gen 1:2 And the earth came to be1 formless
and empty, and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Elohim
was moving on the face of the waters. Footnote: 1Or the earth
became.
“Formless and empty”
in Hebrew is “tohu ve bahu” Strongs 8414 & 922 which can mean “chaotic and empty”
The CLV translation goes on to say “and
darkness was on the surface of the submerged chaos. Yet the Spirit of Elohim is
vibrating over the surface of the waters” - this describes our lives before we are born
again and enter into YHVH’s Kingdom. And so the first discourse of Yahshua
starts off by saying:
Mat 5:3
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, because theirs is the reign of the
heavens.
Blessed are those who have come face to
face with their “tohu ve bahu”….
According to a commentary the word “poor”
can mean “to crouch like a helpless beggar” This word suggests an image of
someone in abject poverty, totally dependent on others for help.
Yahshua’s sermon on the mount reveals the
heart of one who can and has truly embraced the Torah of Yahveh and has
submitted themselves in complete humility to becoming a totally new creation.
This reality reveals once again the essence of true
intercession. If we reject the Torah we reject the very foundations upon which intercession
is to be made for us.

abomination1. Footnote: 1See also 15:29, Isa. 59:1-2,

Mat 5:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, because
theirs is the reign of the heavens.
Mat 5:4 “Blessed are those who mourn, because they
shall be comforted.
Mat 5:5 “Blessed are the meek, because they shall
inherit the earth.1 Footnote: 1Ps. 37:9, 11, 22, 29, 34.
Mat 5:6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for
righteousness,1 because they shall be filled. Footnote: 1Isa.
55:1-2, Mt. 4:4, John 6:48-51.
Mat 5:7 “Blessed are the compassionate, because they
shall obtain compassion.
Mat 5:8 “Blessed are the clean in heart,1
because they shall see Elohim. Footnote: 1Ps. 24:3-4.
Messiah’s first recorded sermon must have been so different to what the
people were used to hearing.
In the measure the Ruach (Spirit) of YHVH can
continue to reveal to us the course of our spiritual journey is the measure we
can receive and walk in the righteousness of Messiah.
Mat 5:17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the
Torah or the Prophets.1 I did not come to destroy but to complete. Footnote:
1The Law and the Prophets is a term used for the pre-Messianic
Scriptures.
This first sermon is about our spiritual foundation and how our lives
are to be built on this foundation.
This first discourse warns us of what will happen if we do not build our
lives according to His instructions.
See v. 15.
Mat 7:24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of
Mine, and does them, shall be like a wise man who built his house on the rock,
Mat 7:25 and the rain came down, and the floods came,
and the winds blew and beat on that house, and it did not fall, for it was
founded on the rock.
Mat 7:26 “And everyone who hears these words of Mine,
and does not do them,1 shall be like a foolish man who built his
house on the sand, Footnote: 1John 3:36.
Mat 7:27 and the rain came down, and the floods came,
and the winds blew, and they beat on that house, and it fell, and great was its
fall.”
Mat 7:28 And it came to be, when יהושע had ended
these words, that the people were astonished at His teaching,
Imagine studying and meditating on this first sermon of Yahshua until it
beco mes part of us?
2. The Missionary Discourse (10:1‑42) and Shemot (Book of Exodus)
Note the similarities
between Shemot/Exodus and the opening verses of Yahshua’s second drasha
Remember the
word “Shemot” means “names.”
Mat 10:2 ואלה שמות
The same two words are used in the opening chapter
of Exodus – ve ele shemot – “these are the names”
Mat 10:2
And these are the names of the twelve emissaries: first, Shimʽon, who is called
Kĕpha, and Andri his brother; Yaʽaqoḇ the son of Zaḇdai, and Yoḥanan his brother;
Mat 10:3
Philip and Bartholomi; T’oma and Mattithyahu the tax collector; Yaʽaqoḇ the son of
Alphai, and Laḇai whose last name was
Taddai;
Mat 10:4
Shimʽon the Kenaʽanite, and Yehuḏah from Qerioth, who
did also deliver Him up.
Mat 10:5 יהושע sent these
twelve out, having commanded them, saying, “Do not go into the way of the
gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Shomeronites,
Mat 10:6 but
rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Yisra’ĕl.
Mat 10:7 “And as
you go, proclaim, saying, ‘The reign of the heavens has drawn near.’
Mat 10:8 “Heal the
sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. You have received
without paying, give without being paid.
Sefer Shemot
(Exodus) is about preparing a people who are willing to leave the known and
venture into the unknown. We remember that only a few left – most stayed in
Mitzrayim.
You can be born again and still be
living in the bondage of “Egypt”
Mat 10:11 “And into whatever city or village you enter,
ask who is worthy in it, and stay there until you leave.
Mat 10:12 “And as you enter into a house, greet it.
Mat 10:13 “And if the house is worthy, let your peace
come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.
Mat 10:14 “And whoever does not receive you nor hear your
words, when you leave that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.
Mat 10:15 “Truly, I say to you, it shall be more
bearable for the land of Seḏom and Amorah in the
day of judgment than for that city!
Mat
10:16 “See, I send you out as sheep in
the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.
Mat 10:22 “And you shall be hated by all for My Name’s
sake. But he who shall have endured to the end shall be saved.1
Footnote: 1See 24:13.
Mat 10:23 “And when they persecute you in this city,
flee to another. For truly, I say to you, you shall by no means have gone
through the cities of Yisra’ĕl before the Son of Aḏam comes.
Mat
10:24 “A taught one is not above his
teacher, nor a servant above his master.
If
you are really calling people out of Egypt, bondage and mixture – people,
especially religious people will hate you - YOU WILL PAY A PRICE – BUT THE REWARDS ARE
GREAT –WHEN YOU COME OUT OF EGYPT AND YOU CROSS THE RED SEA SO YOU CAN RECEIVE
THE TORAH YOU WILL EXPERIENCE THE MIGHTY EMPOWERING OF YHVH TO MAKE IT INTO THE
PROMISED LAND – THE PROMISED KINGDOM.
YHVH
did not give His Torah to those who stayed in Egypt and mixture. He gave His
Torah to those who obeyed His voice and followed Him into the unknown
wilderness.
In
the end times the bride of Messiah will also go into a wilderness.
Hos 2:14 “Therefore, see, I am alluring her, and shall
lead her into the wilderness, and shall speak to her heart,
Hos 2:19 “And I shall take you as a bride unto Me
forever, and take you as a bride unto Me in righteousness, and in right-ruling,
and kindness and compassion.
Hos 2:20 “And I shall take you as a bride unto Me in
trustworthiness, and you shall know יהוה.
Note in Parashat Ki tissa – Shemot 30:11-34:35
We have the first census. The second census takes place in Parashat Bemidbar.
You may be counted as one of the born
agains who have been baptized and filled with the Spirit BUT THAT DOES NOT
GAURANTEE YOUR ENTERANCE INTO YHVH’S KINGDOM.
There was a second census in book of
Numbers (Bamidbar)
3. The Parable Discourse (13:1‑53) – Book of Leviticus – “Vayikra.”
This sermon compares to the third
book of the Torah – Vayikra – “and he called.”
We believe YHVH is calling us to
Himself from the most Set Apart Place, to the most Set Apart Place. The book of
Vayikra is about offerings or “korbanot.” This Hebrew word comes from the word
“karav” which means to draw near. If we want to draw near we need to listen and
obey carefully. We see here in this third discourse of Yahshua that YHVH speaks
to us through parables. The restored offerings of Leviticus are going to be
times of deep reflection and fellowship with YHVH. You can only understand a
parable if you are tuned in to hear the voice of YHVH.
Once again
note how Yahshua begins his sermon.
Mat 13:3 And He spoke to them much in parables,
saying, “See, the sower went out to sow.
Mat 13:4 “And as he sowed, some indeed fell by the
wayside, and the birds came and devoured them.
Mat 13:5 “And others fell on rocky places, where they
did not have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, because they had no
depth of soil.
Mat 13:6 “But when the sun was up they were scorched,
and because they had no root they withered.
Mat 13:7 “And others fell among thorns, and the thorns
came up and choked them.
Mat 13:8 “And others fell on good soil and yielded a
crop, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
Mat 13:9 “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
Mat 13:10 And the taught ones
came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?”
Mat 13:11 And He answering, said
to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the secrets of the reign of
the heavens, but to them it has not been given.
Mat 13:15 for the heart of this people has become
thickened, and their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed,
lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should
understand with their heart, and turn back, and I heal them.’
Mat 13:16
“And blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they
hear,
Many do not know how to hear because they
lack spiritual discernment.
י וּלְהַבְדִּיל,
בֵּין הַקֹּדֶשׁ וּבֵין הַחֹל, וּבֵין הַטָּמֵא, וּבֵין הַטָּהוֹר.
|
10 And that ye may
put difference between the set apart and the common, and between the unclean
and the clean;
|
This was the main duty of the priesthood “rightly
dividing the word of truth.”
2Ti 2:15 Do your utmost to present yourself approved
to Elohim, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly handling the Word
of Truth.
(“Handling” Gk means “making a strait cut
or partitioning”)
Mat 13:18 “You, then, hear the parable of the sower:
Mat 13:19 “When anyone hears the word of the reign, and
does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was
sown in his heart. This is that sown by the wayside.
Mat 13:20 “And that sown on rocky places, this is he
who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy,
Mat 13:21 yet he has no root in himself, but is
short-lived, and when pressure or persecution arises because of the word,
immediately he stumbles.
Mat 13:22 “And that sown among the thorns is he who
hears the word, and the worry of this age and the deceit of riches choke the
word, and it becomes fruitless.1 Footnote: 1Lk. 21:34, 2
Tim. 3:4.
Mat 13:23 “And that sown on the good soil is he who
hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and yields – some a
hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”
If you are really hearing His Word it’s going to produce fruit in your
lives.
Mat 13:24 Another parable He put before them, saying,
“The reign of the heavens has become like a man who sowed good seed in his
field,
Mat 13:25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed
darnel among the wheat and went away.
Mat 13:26 “And when the blade sprouted and bore fruit,
then the darnel also appeared.
Mat 13:27 “And the servants of the master of the house
came and said to him, ‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? From
where then does it have the darnel?’
Mat 13:28 “And he said to them, ‘A man, an enemy did
this.’ And the servants said to him, ‘Do you wish then, that we go and gather
them up?’
Mat 13:29 “But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up
the darnel you also uproot the wheat with them.
Mat 13:30 ‘Let both grow together until the harvest,
and at the time of harvest I shall say to the reapers, “First gather the darnel
and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my granary.” ’
”
Mat 13:44 “Again, the reign of the heavens is like
treasure hidden in a field, which a man having found it, hid, and for joy over
it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
Mat 13:45 “Again, the reign of the heavens is like a
man, a merchant, seeking fine pearls,
Mat 13:46 who, when he had found one pearl of great
price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.
4. The Community Discourse (17:22‑18:35) Kehelah of YHVH – Book of Numbers
– “Bamidbar”
Mat 17:22 And while they were staying in Galil, יהושע said to them,
“The Son of Aḏam is about to be delivered up into the hands of men,
Mat 17:23 and they
shall kill Him, and the third day He shall be raised up.” And they were deeply
grieved.
Mat 17:24 And when
they came into Kephar Naḥum, those who received the tax came to Kĕpha and said,
“Does your Teacher not pay the tax?”
Mat 17:25 He said,
“Yea.” And when he came into the house, יהושע spoke to him
first, saying, “What do you think, Shimʽon?
From whom do the sovereigns of the earth take toll or tax, from their own sons
or from the strangers?”
Mat 17:26 Kĕpha then
said to Him, “From the strangers.” יהושע said to him,
“Then the sons are exempt.
Mat 17:27 “But,
lest we cause them to stumble, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish
that comes up first. And when you have opened its mouth, you shall find a piece
of money. Take that and give it to them for Me and you.”
This is interesting, Yahshua is talking about his death and then goes
onto paying the temple tax – is there a connection.
The book of Bamidbar is about been numbering the redeemed of Yisrael in
the wilderness. This was done by paying a tax – a beka– those who did so were
numbered amongst the redeemed.
The Hebrew word for numbered is “Gulguletam” where we get the word
“Golgatha”
Num 1:2 “Take a census of all the congregation of the
children of Yisra’ĕl, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to
the number of names, every male, head by head,
Translation – Lift up the head of the sons of
Yisrael – the families of their fathers houses – numbering their names each
male by his skull.
The word “gulgolet” where the name Golgotha comes
from was a strange way to express the counting of people…
Exo 30:11 And יהוה spoke to
Mosheh, saying,
Exo 30:12 “When
you take the census of the children of Yisra’ĕl, to register them, then each
one shall give an atonement for his life to יהוה, when you
register them, so that there is no plague among them when you register them.
Exo 30:13
“Everyone among those who are registered is to give this: half a sheqel
according to the sheqel of the set-apart place, twenty gĕrahs being a sheqel.
The half-sheqel is the contribution to יהוה.
Exo 30:14
“Everyone passing over to be registered, from twenty years old and
above, gives a contribution to יהוה.
5. The Apocalyptic Discourse (24:1‑25:46)
– The book of Deuteronomy – Devarim.
Given on
the mount of Olives – the very same place Yahshua will return one day.
Devarim
can mean “words or things.”
In this
last book of the Torah Moshe repeats all YHVH has said in his own words. Moshe
has personalized the Torah.
At the
end of this book Moshe sings a song – called the song of Moshe. This song is a prophetic
outline of Yisrael’s history and YHVH’s judgment.
In the
book of Revelation chapter 15 as the last 7 bowls of YHVH’s wrath are about to
poured on the earth – the set apart ones sing the song of Moshe and the song of
the Lamb – possibly the same song.
In the
last sermon of Yahshua in the book of Mattityahu we hear Yashua declare in his
own words that he has heard from His Father the many things that will happen in
the last days.
Mat 24:1 And going out, יהושע went away from
the Set-apart Place, and His taught ones came near to point out to Him the
buildings of the Set-apart Place.
Mat
24:2 And יהושע said to them, “Do you not see
all these? Truly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another,
at all, which shall not be thrown down.
Mat 24:3 And as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the
taught ones came to Him separately, saying, “Say to us, when shall this be, and
what is the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
Mat 24:4 And יהושע answering,
said to them, “Take heed that no one leads you astray.
Mat 24:5 “For many
shall come in My Name, saying, ‘I am the Messiah,’(anointed one) and they shall
lead many astray.
In the last days there will be many so called anointed Ones – but can they be compared to Moshe Rabbeinu? Can they reproduce the life
and teachings of the Torah as Mosheh did? – As Mattityahu did?
Remember what Moshe received and taught from Mount Sinai
will be the same words the Messiah teaches us from Tzion when he returns.
Isa 2:2 And it shall be in the latter days that the
mountain of the House of יהוה is established
on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills. And all
nations shall flow to it.
Isa 2:3 And many
peoples shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of יהוה, to the House of the Elohim of Yaʽaqoḇ, and
let Him teach1 us His ways1, and let us walk in His paths1,
for out of Tsiyon comes forth the Torah1, and the Word1
of יהוה from Yerushalayim.” Footnote: 1His
ways, His paths, the teaching and the Word of יהוה are used synonymously.
Isa
2:4 And He shall judge between the
nations, and shall reprove many peoples.
