Parashat 2 Portion 8 Ber/Gen 9:18-10:32 Yesh/Is 49:1-13 Rev 5:1-14

Isa 45:5  ‘I am יהוה, and there is none else – there is no Elohim besides Me. I gird you, though you have not known Me,
Isa 45:6  so that they know from the rising of the sun to its setting that there is none but Me. I am יהוה, and there is none else,
Isa 45:7  forming light and creating darkness, making peace and creating evil. I, יהוה, do all these.’

Many believers today do not like to associate evil with YHVH. The fact is YHVH put two trees in the garden and from the very beginning we see man has chosen evil and continues to do so. In spite of the fact that Yahshua came and is coming again soon man still continues to choose evil.
Not only has Yahshua forgiven us of our wrong choices, he has shown us a way back to the Tree of life through the Torah. Yahshua will soon return for a bride who will never have a desire to choose evil ever again.

Torah Portion:

Gen 9:18  And the sons of Noaḥ who went out of the ark were Shĕm and Ḥam and Yepheth. And Ḥam was the father of Kenaʽan.
Gen 9:19  These three were the sons of Noaḥ, and all the earth was overspread from them.

Our parashah begins with the three sons of Noach – Shem Cham and Yepeth who will father nations and repopulate the earth. Mention is made of only one of their sons – Kenaan - in the opening verses because he will be the subject of great shame and generational curses.
The name “Kenaan” S3667 comes from a Hebrew word which means “humiliation”

See generational chart - Sons of Shem: Part VII Charts for P212A-212F (No. 212G)

The sons of Shem are Elam and Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud and Aram.

We know for certain that the Elamites became the Persians, the sons of Asshur became the Assyrians, the sons of Arphaxad became the Hebrews, and Aram became the Syrians and the source of the name of the Aramaic language. They also later went north into Armenia.

From Shem came the Messianic line through Arphaxad.

Rom 3:1  What then is the advantage of the Yehuḏite, or what is the value of the circumcision?
Rom 3:2  Much in every way! Because firstly indeed, that they were entrusted with the Words of Elohim.1 Footnote: 1See 2:20.
Rom 3:3  For what if some did not believe? Shall their unbelief nullify the trustworthiness of Elohim?
Rom 3:4  Let it not be! But let Elohim be true, and every man a liar, as it has been written, “That You should be declared right in Your words, and prevail in Your judging.”

Rom 9:1  I speak the truth in Messiah, I do not lie, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Set-apart Spirit,
Rom 9:2  that I have great sadness and continual grief in my heart.
Rom 9:3  For I myself could have wished to be banished from Messiah for the sake of my brothers, my relatives according to the flesh,
Rom 9:4  who are Yisra’ĕlites, whose is the adoption, and the esteem, and the covenants, and the giving of the Torah, and the worship, and the promises,
Rom 9:5  whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Messiah according to the flesh, who is over all, Elohim-blessed forever. Amĕn.
Rom 9:6  However, it is not as though the word of Elohim has failed. For they are not all Yisra’ĕl who are of Yisra’ĕl,
Rom 9:7  neither are they all children because they are the seed of Aḇraham, but, “In Yitsḥaq your seed shall be called.”
Rom 9:8  That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of Elohim, but the children of the promise are reckoned as the seed.

1Pe 1:23  having been born again – not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible – through the living Word of Elohim, which remains forever,

The most puzzling question of our time as believers is that how come if we are born again of an incorruptible seed – the Word of Elohim – there remains corruption and the yetzer ha ra within the waiting bride of Messiah? We believe this will not always be the case, there will be a restoration of all things before Messiah returns – Acts 3:21

We see this corruption begin immediately after Noach and his family leave the ark.

Gen 9:20  And Noaḥ, a man of the soil, began and planted a vineyard.
Gen 9:21  And he drank of the wine and was drunk, and became uncovered in his tent.

כא  וַיֵּשְׁתְּ מִן-הַיַּיִן, וַיִּשְׁכָּר; וַיִּתְגַּל, בְּתוֹךְ אָהֳלֹה.

“Now the first incestuous act on the list is described in Leviticus 18:7:  “You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father, which is the nakedness of your mother; she is your mother; you shall not uncover her nakedness.”  In other words, a man’s mother has a nakedness that is his father’s nakedness, that is, a nakedness that belongs to his father alone. He is not to “uncover her nakedness,” i.e., have sexual intercourse with her, because her sexuality, her nakedness, is to be reserved only for his father.  This sheds an entirely fresh light on Genesis 9:22, for it reveals that Ham’s sin is not that he leered at Noah but that he had sex with Noah’s wife, his own mother, while Noah was passed out on the couch. He “saw the nakedness of his father,” that is, the nakedness that properly belonged only to Noach.
Shem and Japheth backed into the room so they themselves would not be tempted to commit the same sin, and laid a blanket over the exposed body of their mother.  This also explains an otherwise odd thing. In Genesis 9:22 Ham is identified not just as Ham but as “Ham, the father of Canaan.” This is incongruous, unless of course, Canaan is the son who was born of this incestuous union between Ham and his mother and became the father of the Canaanite people.  This explains why the curse of Genesis 9:25 fell, not upon Ham, as one might expect, but upon Canaan. Noah does not say, “Cursed be Ham,” but “Cursed be Canaan.” (Now Ham certainly experienced the effect of this curse himself, as his legacy would forever be tainted.)
In the larger narrative of the Pentateuch, this story is included to lay the foundation for YHVH’s decision to use Israel as a means of judgment on the Canaanites. They were a people conceived in incest, a people who began their history under the curse of sexual depravity, and were a people characterized by sexual perversity for their entire history, as events in Sodom and Gomorrah illustrate.  In time, the unrepentant sexual deviancy of Canaan caused them to forfeit their moral right to exercise sovereignty over their native land and they were destroyed. The land “vomited them out” (Lev. 18:25), as if their depravity had made their homeland physically sick. In time, when the “iniquity of the Amorites...(was) complete” (Genesis 15:16), YHVH’s patience was exhausted and Canaan was judged by the armies of Israel.

It is suggestive that the consonantal form הלהא appears to have the feminine possessive suffix (see Cohen, Drunkenness,8, and Gen. Rab. 36:7; although the MT points the word according to the qĕrêʾ ולהא , “his tent”).

Cohen, Kikawada and Quinn (Before Abraham Was, 102), and the rabbinic sages suggest it is the tent of Noah’s wife. The feminine form הלהא also occurs, for example, in Gen 24:67, where Isaac brings Rebekah into the tent of his mother to consummate their marriage.

·         "Uncover Nakedness" is used in Leviticus to describe heterosexual incest
·         the "nakedness of the father" is identified with the "nakedness of your mother" (Lev 18:7-8)

·         If this is about Ham's incestuous sex with his mother, the emphasis on Canaan comes clear. Canaan would have been the product of the incestuous union. That is why Canaan is cursed, and why the text consistently identifies Ham as the "father of Canaan." It is suggested that the narrative has been compressed, and that the curse was actually pronounced at Canaan's birth rather that immediately after the incest.

·         This view highlights better the connection of Genesis 9 with Genesis 6, 19, Leviticus 18, 20 and Dueteronomy 23:1, 27:30, and the maternal incest of Reuben. It shows that the chief enemies of Israel - Canann, Moab and Ammon - are all of questionable heritage.
·         It preserves the idea that has been brought forth that this was an attempted seizure of Noah's authority, quoting a 1971 article from FW Basset: "A son who has sexual relations with his mother or step-mother commits a rebellious act against his father, since the possession of a man's wife is seen also as an effort to supplant the man himself." Note the connection with Absalom, Reuben, David's taking of Saul's wives, and Adonijah's attempt to have Abishag.
·         It was noted by Bergsma & Hahn that "the tent" inv.21 "appears to have the feminine possessive suffix" though "the MT points the word according to the qere," i.e., as "his tent". "Thus, one might read the text as saying that Noah entered "her tent," the tent of Mrs Noah – end quote.

Gen 9:22  And Ḥam, the father of Kenaʽan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside.
Gen 9:23  So Shĕm and Yepheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and went backward and covered the nakedness of their father, but their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father’s nakedness.

They not only saw “ra ah” what Cham had done they “perceived”(also ra ah) what he had done.

Gen 9:24  And Noaḥ awoke from his wine, and he knew what his younger son had done to him,
Gen 9:25  and he said, “Cursed is Kenaʽan, let him become a servant of servants to his brothers.”
Gen 9:26  And he said, “Blessed be יהוה, the Elohim of Shĕm, and let Kenaʽan become his servant.
Gen 9:27  “Let Elohim enlarge Yepheth, and let him dwell in the tents of Shĕm. And let Kenaʽan become his servant.”

Vs 27 is an often overlooked prophecy in the Torah. The implication is that although there may be two groups of believers in YHVH and His Messiah – there is only one “tent” or one place where YHVH chooses to meet with those who call on His Name.

Eze 23:1  And the word of יהוה came to me, saying,
Eze 23:2  “Son of man, there were two women, daughters of one mother.
Eze 23:3  “And they whored in Mitsrayim, they whored in their youth. There their breasts were handled, and there their maiden nipples were squeezed.
Eze 23:4  “And their names were: Oholah the elder and Oholiḇah her sister. And they were Mine, and they bore sons and daughters. And their names: Shomeron is Oholah, and Yerushalayim is Oholiḇah.

4 And the names of them were Oholah the elder, and Oholibah her sister; and they became Mine, and they bore sons and daughters. And as for their names, Samaria is Oholah, and Jerusalem Oholibah.

Possibly the mother could be a symbol of Yerushalayim.

Gal 4:26  But the Yerushalayim above is free, which is the mother of us all.

The two sisters are named “Oholah” which means “her tent” this is a reference to “Samaria” or the 10 tribes and “Ohilibah” which means “ my tent is in  her” this refers to Judah.
What does this mean? Both tents were used for immoral relationships. The tent could be compared to a meeting place of a husband and wife and should be a place of honour and set apart intimacy. Judah could claim that the tent of meeting with YHVH was in Yerushalayim, on the Temple mount in the Most Set Apart place, on the ark of the covenant between the two cherubim –
Samaria claims to have her own tent, she does not believe she is called to live in the tent of Judah – vs 27.
We see the sad reality of this in the “ReplacementTheology” of the church. The reality is YHVH has chosen only ONE tent in Yerushalayim.

Gen 9:28  And Noaḥ lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years.
Gen 9:29  So all the days of Noaḥ were nine hundred and fifty years, and he died.
Gen 10:1  And this is the genealogy of the sons of Noaḥ: Shĕm, Ḥam, and Yepheth. And sons were born to them after the flood.
Gen 10:2  The sons of Yepheth: Gomer, and Maḡoḡ, and Maḏai, and Yawan, and Tuḇal, and Mesheḵ, and Tiras.
Gen 10:3  And the sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Toḡarmah.
Gen 10:4  And the sons of Yawan: Elishah and Tarshish, Kittim and Doḏanim.
Gen 10:5  From these the coastland peoples of the nations were separated into their lands, everyone according to his language, according to their clans, into their nations.
Gen 10:6  And the sons of Ḥam: Kush, and Mitsrayim, and Put, and Kenaʽan.
Gen 10:7  And the sons of Kush: Seḇa, and Ḥawilah, and Saḇtah, and Raʽmah, and Saḇteḵa. And the sons of Raʽmah: Sheḇa and Deḏan.
Gen 10:8  And Kush brought forth Nimroḏ, he began to be a mighty one on the earth.
Gen 10:9  He was a mighty hunter before יהוה, therefore it is said, “Like Nimroḏ the mighty hunter before יהוה.”
Gen 10:10  And the beginning of his reign was Baḇel, and Ereḵ, and Akkaḏ, and Kalnĕh, in the land of Shinʽar.
Gen 10:11  From that land he went to Ashshur and built Ninewĕh, and Reḥoḇoth Ir, and Kelaḥ,
Gen 10:12  and Resen between Ninewĕh and Kelaḥ, the great city.
Gen 10:13  And Mitsrayim brought forth Luḏim, and Anamim, and Lehaḇim, and Naphtuḥim,
Gen 10:14  and Pathrusim, and Kasluḥim, from whom came the Philistines and Kaphtorim.
Gen 10:15  And Kenaʽan brought forth Tsiḏon his first-born, and Ḥĕth,
Gen 10:16  and the Yeḇusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,
Gen 10:17  and the Ḥiwwite, and the Arqite, and the Sinite,
Gen 10:18  and the Arwaḏite, and the Tsemarite, and the Ḥamathite. And afterward the clans of the Kenaʽanites were spread abroad.
Gen 10:19  And the border of the Kenaʽanites was from Tsiḏon as you go toward Gerar, as far as Azzah, as you go toward Seḏom, and Amorah, and Aḏmah, and Tseḇoyim, as far as Lasha.
Gen 10:20  These were the sons of Ḥam, according to their clans, according to their languages, in their lands, in their nations.
Gen 10:21  And also to Shĕm, the father of all the children of Ěḇer, the brother of Yepheth the elder, children were born.
Gen 10:22  The sons of Shĕm: Ěylam, and Asshur, and Arpaḵshaḏ, and Luḏ, and Aram.
Gen 10:23  And the sons of Aram: Uts, and Ḥul, and Gether, and Mash.
Gen 10:24  And Arpaḵshaḏ brought forth Shelaḥ, and Shelaḥ brought forth Ěḇer.
Gen 10:25  And to Ěḇer were born two sons, the name of one was Peleḡ, for in his days the earth was divided, and his brother’s name was Yoqtan.
Gen 10:26  And Yoqtan brought forth Almoḏaḏ, and Sheleph, and Ḥatsarmaweth, and Yeraḥ,
Gen 10:27  and Haḏoram, and Uzal, and Diqlah,
Gen 10:28  and Oḇal, and Aḇima’ĕl, and Sheḇa,
Gen 10:29  and Ophir, and Ḥawilah, and Yoḇaḇ. All these were sons of Yoqtan.
Gen 10:30  And their dwelling place was from Mĕysha as you go toward Sephar, a mountain of the east.
Gen 10:31  These were the sons of Shĕm, according to their clans, according to their languages, in their lands, according to their nations.
Gen 10:32  These were the clans of the sons of Noaḥ, according to their generations, in their nations. And from these the nations were divided on the earth after the flood.

Some of these names are found in an end time prophecy found in Ezekiel. The descendants occupied certain geographical areas that play a significant role in the last days.

Eze 38:1  And the word of יהוה came to me, saying,
Eze 38:2  “Son of man, set your face against Goḡ, of the land of Maḡoḡ, the prince of Rosh, Mesheḵ, and Tuḇal, and prophesy against him.
Eze 38:3  “And you shall say, ‘Thus says the Master יהוה, “See, I am against you, O Goḡ, the prince of Rosh, Mesheḵ, and Tuḇal.
Eze 38:4  “And I shall turn you around, and I shall put hooks into your jaws, and shall lead you out, with all your army, horses and horsemen, clad perfectly, a great assembly with armour and shields, all of them handling swords.
Eze 38:5  “Persia, Kush, and Put are with them, all of them with shield and helmet,
Eze 38:6  “Gomer and all its bands, the house of Toḡarmah from the far north and all its bands, many peoples with you.
Eze 38:7  “Be ready, prepare yourself, you and all your assemblies that are assembled unto you. And you shall be a guard for them.
Eze 38:8  “After many days you shall be called up. In the latter years you shall come into the land of those brought back from the sword and gathered from many people on the mountains of Yisra’ĕl, which had been a continual waste. But they were brought out of the gentiles, and all of them shall dwell safely.
Eze 38:9  “And you shall go up, coming like a storm, covering the land like a cloud, you and all your bands and many peoples with you.”
Eze 38:10  ‘Thus said the Master יהוה, “And it shall be in that day that words arise in your heart, and you shall devise an evil plan:

Parashat 2 Portion 7 – Ber/Gen 8:15- 9:17 Yesh/Is 42:6-21 2Tim 2:8-19

One of the first commandments YHVH gave Adam and Chawah was to be fruitful and multiply (Ber/Gen 1:22),  this commandment is repeated three times in this week’s parashah – 8:17,9:1&7.
The law of first mention is very important for us in understanding the Word of YHVH. This first commandment to be fruitful and multiply must also be significant in our understanding of all other commandments given by YHVH to man.

How can one be fruitful? My understanding of scripture is that one can only be properly fruitful if you eat the fruit of the Tree of Life. What is the fruit of the Tree of Life? The Torah of YHVH and specifically the way the Torah points to the only brought forth Son of YHVH – Yahshua Ha Moshiach.

Gen 9:1  And Elohim blessed Noaḥ and his sons, and said to them, “Bear fruit and increase, and fill the earth.

This commandment also has a physical aspect to it. A well known teacher stated that this commandment could have been phrased “let there be sex.” The implications are enormous. Most believers tend to ignore the impact of this commandment and commandments in the Torah related to this first commandment. A well known example is found in Dev/Deut 25 – the levirate marriage. Very, very few men have ever taken this commandment seriously. Vay/Lev 18 gives clear instruction of what is forbidden sexually. It remains silent on what is allowed. Perhaps YHVH wanted to see how man would use his freedom to choose to function in a sexually righteous manner. Sadly many religious leaders avoid sensitive sexual issues and have added and taken away from YHVH’s Torah instruction regarding human sexuality. The consequences of this have caused  the “yetzer ha ra” (the evil inclination) to rage out of control in the lives of many dear believers.

Only when YHVH blesses us can we be truly fruitful and multiply in our understanding of Torah and Messiah.

Has this commandment been fulfilled on earth?

Man seems to have multiplied and filled the earth with a corrupt seed and violence – Ber/Gen 6:11,12.
Yet the promise remains that the whole earth will be filled with the Esteem of YHVH.
Some sages comment that the gematria (the numerical worth) of “white seed” or “zera levan” or sperm has the same gematria as “satan”- 359. They make this comment because the ‘yetzer ha rah” or evil inclination seems to be most associated with devious sexual behavior.

Isa 60:2  “For look, darkness covers the earth, and thick darkness the peoples. But יהוה arises over you, and His esteem is seen upon you. (Upon those who follow the guidelines of Torah including the instruction regarding sexual behavior)
Isa 60:3  “And the gentiles shall come to your light1, and sovereigns to the brightness of your rising. Footnote: 1Isa. 60:19,20, Rev. 21:23,24.

Sexual dysfunction in the world has caused a deep spiritual darkness to come upon the world.

Isa 45:17  Yisra’ĕl shall be saved by יהוה with an everlasting deliverance. You are not to be ashamed nor hurt, forever and ever. Isa 45:18  For thus said יהוה, Creator of the heavens, He is Elohim, Former of earth and its Maker, He established it, He did not create it to be empty (Heb-“tohu” or chaotic), He formed it to be inhabited: “I am יהוה, and there is none else.

Hab 2:14  for the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the esteem of יהוה, as the waters cover the sea1! Footnote: 1Isa. 11:9.

Our Torah Portion:

Gen 8:15  And Elohim spoke to Noaḥ, saying,
Gen 8:16  “Go out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and your sons’ wives with you.
Gen 8:17  “Bring out with you every living creature of all flesh that is with you: of birds, of cattle and all creeping creatures that creep on the earth. And let them teem on the earth, and bear and increase on the earth.”  Or “be fruitful and multiply…”
Gen 8:18  So Noaḥ went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him,
Gen 8:19  every beast, every creeping creature, and every bird, whatever creeps on the earth, according to their kinds, went out of the ark.

Do these opening verses point to a future prophetic destruction that will come upon the earth, when YHVH will once again call those whom He has protected to come out of hiding and to once again be fruitful and multiply?

Gen 8:20  And Noaḥ built an altar to יהוה, and took of every clean beast and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. (It is interesting to see that the revelation about clean and unclean animals (as seen in chapter 7:2 and here) existed already at the time of Noach. They must have known then the difference. That did not mean that the clean animals could be eaten at that time. We saw that man could not eat meat before the flood. A while after the flood (Gen 9:3) YHVH said that animals are food and we know that Noach already knew which were clean and which were unclean. The difference between clean and unclean animals was, at that time, only in connection with the offerings as we see here in verse 20).
Gen 8:21  And יהוה smelled a soothing fragrance, and יהוה said in His heart, “Never again shall I curse the ground because of man, although the inclination of man’s heart is evil from his youth, and never again smite all living creatures, as I have done,”

“the inclination of man’s heart is evil” in Hebrew we call this the “yetzer ha ra”

According to Judaism man is able to subdue the “yetzer ha ra” or evil inclination. “although you have the ability to subdue it,” meaning, if you wish, you will overpower it. [see: Sifrei on Deuteronomy, P. Ekev 45, Kidd. 30b]
According to Shaul only in Yahshua is one able to  help us overcome the “yetzer ha ra”

Rom 7:24  Wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from this body of death? Rom 7:25  Thanks to Elohim, through יהושע Messiah our Master! So then, with the mind I myself truly serve the Torah of Elohim, but with the flesh the law of sin.

The Apostolic scriptures or Second Writings (NT) clearly express that man cannot be saved through his own efforts.

Eph 2:8  For by favour you have been saved,(perfect passive verb) through(the) belief, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of Elohim,
Eph 2:9  it is not by works, so that no one should boast.

Once again we need to remind ourselves that there was never a time when man was able to save himself. Salvation was and always will be in and through Yahshua the Messiah.

Rev 13:8  And all those dwelling on the earth, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the slain Lamb, from the foundation of the world shall worship him.
Rev 13:9  If anyone has an ear, let him hear.

Act 4:11  “This is ‘the stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’
Act 4:12  “And there is no deliverance in anyone else, for there is no other Name under the heaven given among men by which we need to be saved.”

The writer to the book of Hebrews was concerned that because of persecution and isolation from the Jewish leaders some of the messianic believers would turn back from the faith.
Heb 10:38  “But the righteous shall live by belief, but if anyone draws back, my being has no pleasure in him.”  Or by means of the faith

Eph 4:4  one body and one Spirit, as you also were called in one expectation of your calling, Eph 4:5  one Master, one belief, one immersion, Eph 4:6  one Elohim and Father of all,1 who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Footnote: 1Mk. 12:32,34, 1 Cor. 8:6, 1 Tim. 2:5, Mk. 12:29-34.

The one faith Shaul speaks about is the way of YHVH’s salvation from before the foundation of the world. There is no other faith and there is no other way.

Isa 29:16  How perverse of you! Should the potter be reckoned as the clay? Should what is made say of its Maker, “He did not make me”? And what is formed say of Him who formed it, “He did not understand”?

The fact that Noach offers clean animals as offering to YHVH is clear proof that man could not redeem himself- he needed an intercessory offering on his behalf to be presented to YHVH. Every offering that was made and will be made in the future all point to the once for all sinless offering of the Son of Man – Yahshua.

1Ti 2:5  For there is one Elohim,1 and one Mediator between Elohim and men, the Man Messiah יהושע, Foornote: 11 Cor. 8:6, Eph. 4:6, Mk. 12:29-34.
1Ti 2:6  who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be witnessed in its own seasons,

Gen 8:22  as long as the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.”
Gen 9:1  And Elohim blessed Noaḥ and his sons, and said to them, “Bear fruit and increase, and fill the earth.
Gen 9:2  “And the fear of you and the dread of you is on every beast of the earth, on every bird of the heavens, on all that creeps on the ground, and on all the fish of the sea – into your hand they have been given.
Gen 9:3  “Every moving creature that lives is food for you. I have given you all, as I gave the green plants.
Gen 9:4  “But do not eat flesh with its life, its blood.
Gen 9:5  “But only your blood for your lives I require, from the hand of every beast I require it, and from the hand of man. From the hand of every man’s brother I require the life of man.
Gen 9:6  “Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man his blood is shed, for in the image of Elohim has He made man.
Gen 9:7  “As for you, bear fruit and increase, bring forth teemingly in the earth and increase in it.”
Gen 9:8  And Elohim spoke to Noaḥ and to his sons with him, saying,
Gen 9:9  “And I, see, I establish My covenant with you and with your seed after you,
Gen 9:10  and with every living creature that is with you: of the birds, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you, of all that go out of the ark, every beast of the earth.
Gen 9:11  “And I shall establish My covenant with you, and never again is all flesh cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again is there a flood to destroy the earth.”
Gen 9:12  And Elohim said, “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for all generations to come:
Gen 9:13  “I shall set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.
Gen 9:14  “And it shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud,
Gen 9:15  and I shall remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh, and never again let the waters become a flood to destroy all flesh.
Gen 9:16  “And the rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I shall see it, to remember the everlasting covenant between Elohim and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”
Gen 9:17  And Elohim said to Noaḥ, “This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.”
