Parashat 29 Portion 87 Vayikra 16:1-34 Haftarah: Yesh 60:15-22 Second Writings: Titus 3:4-7

Blessing of Torah.
Hebrew: Baruch atah YHVH eloheinu melech ha-olam, asher kideshanu b'mitzvotav, v'tzivanu la'asok b'divrei Torah. V'ha'arev na YHVH eloheinu et divrei toratecha befinu uvfi amecha beit Yisrael. Baruch atah YHVH Eloheinu melech ha-olam, asher bachar banu mikol ha'amim venatan lanu et torato. Baruch atah YHVH, notein haTorah.

English translation: Blessed are You, YHVH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has made us set apart through His commandments and commanded us to actively study Torah. Please YHVH, our Elohim, sweeten the words of Your Torah in our mouths and in the mouths of all Your people Israel. May we and our offspring, and the offspring of Your people, the House of Israel, may we all, together, know Your Name and study Your Torah for the sake of fulfilling Your desire. Blessed are You, YHVH, Who teaches Torah to His people Israel. Blessed are You, YHVH our Elohim, King of the universe, Who chose us from all the nations and gave us the Torah. Blessed are You, YHVH, Giver of the Torah.

It would serve us well to remind ourselves that YHVH and YHVH alone determines the method and manner by which redemption is given to His Creation.
Religion and religious men have defiantly devised other ways by which men can be saved.
This remains one of the greatest follies of the human race.

Lev 16:1  And יהוה spoke to Mosheh after the death of the two sons of Aharon, as they drew near before יהוה, and died.

Drawing near to YHVH is a very serious issue. Today many have difficulty in imagining that such a severe sentence of death would still be appropriate for wanting to draw near to YHVH. After all we now have Yahshua that will ward off any such danger. However what if we are mistaken?

Exo 33:20  But He said, “You are unable to see My face, for no man does see Me and live.”

Only one person has ever seen YHVH and continues to live to this day. In fact this person has been in the physical presence of YHVH for the past 2000 years and still lives and awaits instructions from YHVH to return to earth, to his people - Yisrael.
This person is Yahshua Ha Mashiach.

Joh 5:37  “And the Father who sent Me, He bore witness of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.1 Footnote: 1See 1:18.
Joh 5:38  “And you do not have His Word(Torah) staying in you, because you do not believe Him whom He sent.
Joh 5:39  “You search the Scriptures, because you think you possess everlasting life in them. And these are the ones that bear witness of Me.
Joh 5:40  “But you do not desire to come to Me in order to possess life.

Coming to Yahshua is the only way we will ever get to see the Father. We will discover that the millennium is a time for us to once again be given the opportunity to embrace all of YHVH’s Torah SO THAT WE MAY TRULY COME TO KNOW THE MESSIAH.
Praise YHVH we have been given an opportunity NOW to know Yahshua through the Torah.

Almost every single person who has claimed to know the Messiah DOES NOT REALLY KNOW HIM AS HE CAN AND WILL BE KNOWN.
Yes many have MET him but do not KNOW him according to the fullness of the Torah.

Many will argue that they do know Yahshua. The real issue is does Yahshua really know you. Yahshua can only be fully known through the fullness of the Torah.

Mat 7:22  “Many shall say to Me in that day, ‘Master, Master, have we not prophesied in Your Name, and cast out demons in Your Name, and done many mighty works in Your Name?’
Mat 7:23  “And then I shall declare to them, ‘I never knew you, depart from Me, you who work lawlessness!’ (Torahlessness)1 Footnote: 1 See v. 15.

Mat 7:24  “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine, and does them, shall be like a wise man who built his house on the rock,
Mat 7:25  and the rain came down, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
Mat 7:26  “And everyone who hears these words of Mine, and does not do them,1 shall be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand, Footnote: 1John 3:36.
Mat 7:27  and the rain came down, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and they beat on that house, and it fell, and great was its fall.”

Mat 7:13  “Enter in through the narrow gate! Because the gate is wide – and the way is broad – that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter in through it.
Mat 7:14  “Because the gate is narrow and the way is hard pressed1 which leads to life, and there are few who find it. Footnote: 1Or the way is afflicted.
Mat 7:15  “But beware of the false prophets,1 who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are savage wolves. Footnote: 1See v. 23

YHVH ordained the Torah to be the primary source of knowing the TRUE MESSIAH.

Heb 10:7  “Then I said, ‘See, I come – in the roll of the book (Scroll or Torah) it has been written concerning Me – to do Your desire, O Elohim.’ ”

Psa 40:7  Then I said, “See, I have come; In the scroll of the Book it is prescribed for me.
Psa 40:8  I have delighted to do Your pleasure, O my Elohim, And Your Torah is within my heart1.” Footnote: 1Ps. 37:31, Ps. 119:11, Isa. 51:7, Heb. 10:7-9.

Studying and obeying the Torah is the ONLY way we can truly get to know the Messiah.
This Torah portion which deals with the instructions of Yom ha Kippurim has the most important information regarding the identity of the true Messiah.
Now and during the millennium this appointment will be kept and we will discover depths of our Messiah that we never knew as we were meant to know.
There are three references in this Torah portion to the fact that this instruction is an everlasting instruction (while the present heaven and earth are still in existence).

Yom Ha Kippurim is about getting to know Yahshua so intimately that eventually we will become like him in all ways that will result in our being prepared to enter into the physical presence of YHVH for ever and ever.

Once again we are reminded that when the true Messiah is lifted up, he will draw all “men” to the real truth.

John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

“Note that the word “men” is not in the original Greek text; it is a translator’s addition. So He draws all of something, but what? It cannot be all “men” (humans) who ever were or will be, because at the time He says this, there are already untold millions that have passed into eternity, and many unto condemnation.
The plan of YHVH is grander than just people going to church and worshipping Him. He means to reconcile the whole created order to Himself. Since Yahshua says He will draw “all,” He may be referring to “all things.” Thus, He may be saying that His death, and the power it has to eradicate sin, will be the fulcrum YHVH will use to undo all the effects of evil everywhere in the universe:” End quote.
Col 1:19  Because in Him all the completeness was well pleased to dwell,
Col 1:20  and through Him to completely restore to favour all unto Himself, whether on earth or in the heavens, having made peace through the blood of His stake.

His redemption is much bigger than we have ever anticipated – and this reality is brought to our attention every time we keep the appointment of Yom Kippur.

Joh 12:44  Then יהושע cried out and said, “He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me.
Joh 12:45  “And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me.
Joh 12:46  “I have come as a light into the world, so that no one who believes in Me should stay in darkness.
Joh 12:47  “And if anyone hears My Words but does not watch over them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.
Joh 12:48  “He who rejects Me, and does not receive My Words, has one who judges him: the Word that I have spoken shall judge him in the last day.1 Footnote: 1See 3:18-19, 7:16.
Joh 12:49  “Because I spoke not from Myself, but the Father who sent Me has given Me a command,1 what I should say and what I should speak. Footnote: 1See 7:16.
Joh 12:50  “And I know that His command(Gk means “direction” – Torah means to point in the right direction) is everlasting life.1 Therefore, whatever I speak, as the Father has said to Me, so I speak.” Footnote: 1See Mt. 19:17

Lev 16:2  And יהוה said to Mosheh, “Speak to Aharon your brother not to come in at all times to the Set-apart Place inside the veil, before the lid of atonement which is on the ark, lest he die, because I appear in the cloud above the lid of atonement.
Lev 16:3  “With this Aharon should come into the Set-apart Place: with the blood of a young bull as a sin offering, and of a ram as a burnt offering.
Lev 16:4  “He should put on the set-apart linen long shirt, with linen trousers on his flesh, and gird himself with a linen girdle, and be dressed with the linen turban – they are set-apart garments. And he shall bathe his body in water, and shall put them on.
Lev 16:5  “And from the congregation of the children of Yisra’ĕl he takes two male goats as a sin offering, and one ram as a burnt offering.
Lev 16:6  “And Aharon shall bring the bull as a sin offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house.
Lev 16:7  “And he shall take the two goats and let them stand before יהוה at the door of the Tent of Meeting.
Lev 16:8  “And Aharon shall cast lots for the two goats, one lot for יהוה and the other lot for Azazel.
Lev 16:9  “And Aharon shall bring the goat on which the lot for יהוה fell, and shall prepare it as a sin offering.
Lev 16:10  “But the goat on which the lot for Azazel fell is caused to stand alive before יהוה, to make atonement upon it, to send it into the wilderness to Azazel.
Lev 16:11  “And Aharon shall bring the bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house, and shall slaughter the bull as the sin offering which is for himself,
Lev 16:12  and shall take a fire holder filled with burning coals of fire from the altar before יהוה, with his hands filled with sweet incense beaten fine, and shall bring it inside the veil.
Lev 16:13  “And he shall put the incense on the fire before יהוה, and the cloud of incense shall cover the lid of atonement which is on the Witness, lest he die.
Lev 16:14  “And he shall take some of the blood of the bull and sprinkle it with his finger on the lid of atonement on the east side, also in front of the lid of atonement he sprinkles some of the blood with his finger seven times.
Lev 16:15  “And he shall slaughter the goat of the sin offering, which is for the people, and shall bring its blood inside the veil, and shall do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the lid of atonement and in front of the lid of atonement.
Lev 16:16  “And he shall make atonement for the Set-apart Place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Yisra’ĕl, and because of their transgressions in all their sins. And so he does for the Tent of Meeting which is dwelling with them in the midst of their uncleanness.
Lev 16:17  “And no man should be in the Tent of Meeting when he goes in to make atonement in the Set-apart Place, until he comes out. And he shall make atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the assembly of Yisra’ĕl.
Lev 16:18  “And he shall go out to the altar that is before יהוה, and make atonement for it. And he shall take some of the blood of the bull and some of the blood of the goat, and put it on the horns of the altar all around.
Lev 16:19  “And he shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and set it apart from the uncleanness of the children of Yisra’ĕl.
Lev 16:20  “And when he has finished atoning for the Set-apart Place, and the Tent of Meeting, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat.
Lev 16:21  “Then Aharon shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and shall confess over it all the crookednesses of the children of Yisra’ĕl, and all their transgressions in all their sins, and shall put them on the head of the goat, and shall send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a fit man.
Lev 16:22  “And the goat shall bear on itself all their crookednesses, to a land cut off. Thus he shall send the goat away into the wilderness.
Lev 16:23  “Aharon shall then come into the Tent of Meeting, and shall take off the linen garments which he put on when he went into the Set-apart Place, and shall leave them there.
Lev 16:24  “And he shall bathe his body in water in the set-apart place, and shall put on his garments, and shall come out and prepare his burnt offering and the burnt offering of the people, and make atonement for himself and for the people,
Lev 16:25  and burn the fat of the sin offering on the altar.
Lev 16:26  “And he who sent away the goat to Azazel washes his garments, and shall bathe his body in water, and afterward he comes into the camp.
Lev 16:27  “And the bull for the sin offering and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the Set-apart Place, is brought outside the camp. And they shall burn their skins, and their flesh, and their dung with fire.
Lev 16:28  “And he who burns them washes his garments, and shall bathe his body in water, and afterward he comes into the camp.
Lev 16:29  “And this shall be for you a law forever: In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you afflict your beings, and do no work, the native or the stranger who sojourns among you.
Lev 16:30  “For on that day he makes atonement for you, to cleanse you, to be clean from all your sins before יהוה.
Lev 16:31  “It is a Sabbath of rest for you, and you shall afflict your beings – a law forever.
Lev 16:32  “And the priest, who is anointed and ordained to serve as priest in his father’s place, shall make atonement, and shall put on the linen garments, the set-apart garments,
Lev 16:33  and he shall make atonement for the Most Set-apart Place, and make atonement for the Tent of Meeting and for the altar, and make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly.
Lev 16:34  “And this shall be for you a law forever, to make atonement for the children of Yisra’ĕl, for all their sins, once a year.” And he did as יהוה commanded Mosheh.

Parashat 28 Portion 86 Vayikra 15:1-33 Haftarah: Hosea 6:1-9 Second writings: Matt 23:25-26

The intention and purpose of this Torah portion is carefully stated in the last three verses of the portion:

Lev 15:31  ‘Thus you shall separate the children of Yisra’ĕl from their uncleanness, lest they die in their uncleanness when they defile My Dwelling Place which is in their midst.
Lev 15:32  ‘This is the Torah for one who has a discharge, and for him who emits semen and is unclean thereby,
Lev 15:33  and for her who is sick in her monthly separation, and for one who has a discharge, either man or woman, and for him who lies with an unclean woman.’ ”

It is clear that even a Torah kept community is in need of continual cleansing. This can only be possible through the ministry of a dedicated priesthood and a Temple altar.
Even the Apostolic scriptures recognise the need for this cleansing.

Heb 9:13  For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the defiled, sets apart for the cleansing of the flesh, (present tense)
Heb 9:14  how much more shall (future tense) the blood of the Messiah, who through the everlasting Spirit offered Himself unblemished to Elohim, cleanse(future tense) your conscience from dead works to serve(present tense) the living Elohim?

Heb 9:22  And, according to the Torah, almost all is cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

The Ruach of YHVH has given us this week’s Torah instruction in the form of a chiastic structure.

  1.  Introduction  (vs 1,2)
  B. Abnormal male discharge (vs 2b-15)
C.       Normal male discharge   (vs 15,17)
X.  Marital relations     (vs18)
                       C. Normal female discharge (vs 19-24)
               B. Abnormal female discharge  (vs 25-30)
        A.  Summary (vs 31-33)

We see the focus of the Torah portion is on marital purity. We can safely assume this can also refer to a “bride without spot or wrinkle” waiting and preparing for her soon coming Bridegroom.

Eph 5:24  But as the assembly is subject to Messiah, so also let the wives be to their own husbands in every respect.
Eph 5:25  Husbands, love your wives, as Messiah also did love the assembly and gave Himself for it,
Eph 5:26  in order to set it apart and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word,1 Footnote: 1Rev. 19:8-9.
Eph 5:27  in order to present it to Himself a splendid assembly, not having spot or wrinkle or any of this sort, but that it might be set-apart and blameless.
Eph 5:28  In this way husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
Eph 5:29  For no one ever hated his own flesh, but feeds and cherishes it, as also the Master does the assembly.
Eph 5:30  Because we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.
Eph 5:31  “For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”
Eph 5:32  This secret is great, but I speak concerning Messiah and the assembly.

Sadly the reality today is that believers who desire to be part of the Bride of Messiah have been profoundly defiled by false doctrines and disobedience to the Torah – the marriage covenant between YHVH and Yisrael. Cleansing of water is not sufficient and an additional method of cleansing is required as prescribed by the Torah. Many believers will deny this and claim that the blood of Messiah is sufficient for their cleansing. Yahshua clearly stated that not ONE word of the Torah would be done away with while heaven and earth were still here and that anyone who taught someone to be disobedient to the least of the commandments of Torah would be least in coming kingdom age – Matt 5:17-19.

It is a sobering thought and should cause deep reflection that Yahshua will not return until there is a restoration of ALL things.

Act 3:19  “Repent therefore and turn back, for the blotting out of your sins, in order that times of refreshing might come from the presence of the Master,
Act 3:20  and that He sends יהושע Messiah, pre-appointed for you,
Act 3:21  whom heaven needs to receive until the times of restoration of all matters, of which Elohim spoke through the mouth of all His set-apart prophets since of old.
Act 3:22  “For Mosheh truly said to the fathers, ‘יהוה your Elohim shall raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brothers. Him you shall hear according to all matters, whatever He says to you.
Act 3:23  ‘And it shall be that every being who does not hear that Prophet1 shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’ Footnote: 1Deut. 18:18-20.
Act 3:24  “And likewise, all the prophets who have spoken, from Shemu’ĕl and those following, have also announced these days.
Act 3:25  “You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant (Torah) which Elohim made with our fathers, saying to Aḇraham, ‘And in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed.’

“The temple at Jerusalem is prophesied to be rebuilt. The “measuring rod” and the “plummet” are associated with the Two Witnesses (Revelation 11:1; Zechariah 4:10). Animal offerings will be reinstituted. Having a temple without offerings is like having a home without a table for food. The Two Witnesses will “restore all things” to Israel. The “restoration” will be perfect, all of the Mosaic Law will be put back into action. After 3½ years, the Beast (the Anti -Messiah) will call himself “God” and cause the offerings to cease. But after another 3½ years, the true Messiah will return. The Beast will be destroyed, and the work of the Two Witnesses will finally see a proper fulfillment.”

Dan 9:27  “And he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week. And in the middle of the week he shall put an end to slaughtering and meal offering. And on the wing of abominations he shall lay waste, even until the complete end and that which is decreed is poured out on the one who lays waste1.” Footnote: 1Mt. 24:15.

It is possibly significant that as Phaorah (a type of anti Messiah) was used in sending Yisraelites back to Yisrael, so in the end times a type of anti Messiah could also be responsible for sending Yisraelites back to Yisrael.

Jer 23:7  “Therefore, see, the days are coming,” declares יהוה, “when they shall say no more, ‘As יהוה lives who brought up the children of Yisra’ĕl out of the land of Mitsrayim,’
Jer 23:8  but, ‘As יהוה lives who brought up and led the seed of the house of Yisra’ĕl out of the land of the north and from all the lands where I had driven them.’ And they shall dwell on their own soil.”

Jer 23:18  For who has stood in the counsel of יהוה, and has seen and heard His word? Who has listened to His word and obeyed it?
Jer 23:19  See, a storm of יהוה shall go forth in a rage, a whirling storm! It whirls on the head of the wrong.
Jer 23:20  The displeasure of יהוה shall not turn back until He has done and established the purposes of His heart. In the latter days you shall understand it perfectly.1 Footnote: 1See 30:24.

Monte Judah has some interesting insight into the events of the last days.

“The temple mount is the "granddaddy" of all prophetic subjects for the end of the ages. Yeshua focused on the prophecy of the "Abomination of Desolation" spoken of by Daniel. The Abomination of Desolation is a temple mount prophecy. Yeshua explained to His disciples that there would be many general signs raising awareness of the end, but that they should pay particular attention to the specific prophecy given by Daniel. His counsel is also applicable to us today.
What exactly did Yeshua say that we should pay the closest attention to? Answer: the setting up of the altar on the temple mount and the activity of the daily sacrifice (see Matthew 24:15-16). According to the prophecy, the sign of the start of the Great Tribulation is the cessation (stopping) of the daily sacrifice. At the moment, there is no altar and no daily sacrifice being performed on the temple mount. Therefore, the Great Tribulation cannot begin until such an altar is established and performing the daily sacrifice (morning and evening lambs), because prophecy says there will be such an altar and service, just as it said Israel and Jerusalem must exist. There is also a second component to the Abomination of Desolation prophecy. It involves the antimessiah and false prophet. The antimessiah (called the beast in Revelation) is a future world leader imitating the Messiah but serving the Satan. The false prophet is a future religious leader who promotes the following of the false messiah. An image (a statue of the beast) will be set up on the temple mount by the false prophet. This will herald the antimessiah and his involvement with the world in the days of the Great Tribulation.
As we review the beginning of 2014, we can see the following: there is a strong and growing movement within Israel to rebuild the temple with an operational full altar. The materials for the construction of the altar are in Jerusalem awaiting shipment to the temple mount. The vessels and furnishings for the temple are being constructed. Some are even on display in Jerusalem for visitors to see.

If 2014 is to be the start of the Great Tribulation, then there must be an operating altar with the daily sacrifice right now (the February/March timeframe). But there is none. So, we can safely conclude that this winter is NOT the year the Great Tribulation begins.” End quote.

The Temple Institute:
“The altar is the very heart of the Holy Temple, for all of the Divine service is centered around it: all of the daily and additional offerings, as well as the individual and congregational sacrifices. All of the major ceremonies in the Temple also take place in the vicinity of the altar: the Passover sacrifice, the bringing of the firstfruits on Shavuot, and even the rejoicing with the lulav branches on Sukkot all take place around the altar.

A Precise Location, From the Beginning of Time
The exact location of the altar is extremely precise, and has been established since time immemorial. The altar built by King David and King Solomon in the days of the First Temple, as well as the one built later in the era of the Second Temple, were both erected on the very same place: for this was the very place from which Adam, the first man, was created. The sages stated: "Man was created from the very spot which atones for him" (B'reishith Rabbah 14:6). Later, it was at this spot on Mount Moriah that Abraham bound Isaac upon the altar that he had built. Through that action, Abraham declared that this would be the place of God's Temple for all time.”

Just a word of warning: the rebuilding of the Temple in Yerushalyim is also an extremely important focus of Free Masonry – We must not be deceived by coming events. Only those who can clearly discern the prophetic patterns of Torah will survive in the last days.

Here is a quote so you see how truth can be used by the enemy: "Of all the objects which constitute the Masonic science of symbolism, the most important, the most cherished, by the Mason, and by far the most significant, is the Temple of Jerusalem. The spiritualizing of the Temple is the first, the most prominent and the most pervading, of all symbols of Freemasonry ... Take from Freemasonry its dependence on the Temple; leave out of its ritual all references to that sacred edifice, and to the legends and traditions connected with it, and the system itself would at once decay and die ... Hughan, 32º, Volume II, M-Z, published by The Masonic History Company, Chicago, New York, London, 1873, A.G. Mackey, 1927, by the Masonic History Company.]” End quote.

Our Torah portion begins:

  1. Lev 15:1  And יהוה spoke to Mosheh and to Aharon, saying,
Lev 15:2  “Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, and say to them, ‘When any man has a discharge from his flesh, his discharge is unclean.

B.    Lev 15:3  ‘And this is his uncleanness in regard to his discharge; whether his flesh runs with his discharge, or his flesh is stopped up by his discharge, it is his uncleanness.
Lev 15:4  ‘Any bed becomes unclean on which he who has the discharge lies, and any object on which he sits becomes unclean.
Lev 15:5  ‘And anyone who touches his bed has to wash his garments, and shall bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.
Lev 15:6  ‘And he who sits on any object on which he who has the discharge sat, has to wash his garments, and shall bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.
Lev 15:7  ‘And he who touches the flesh of him who has the discharge has to wash his garments, and shall bathe in water, and shall be unclean until evening.
Lev 15:8  ‘And when he who has the discharge spits on him who is clean, then he shall wash his garments, and shall bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.
Lev 15:9  ‘Any saddle on which he who has the discharge rides becomes unclean.
Lev 15:10  ‘And whoever touches any of that which was under him is unclean until evening. And he who is carrying them up has to wash his garments, and shall bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.
Lev 15:11  ‘And anyone whom he who has the discharge touches without rinsing his hands in water, shall wash his garments and bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.
Lev 15:12  ‘And the earthen vessel which he who has the discharge touches has to be broken, and every wooden vessel has to be rinsed in water.
Lev 15:13  ‘And when he who has a discharge is cleansed of his discharge, then he shall count for himself seven days for his cleansing, and shall wash his garments, and shall bathe his flesh in running water, and be clean.
Lev 15:14  ‘And on the eighth day he takes for himself two turtledoves or two young pigeons, and shall come before יהוה, to the door of the Tent of Meeting, and shall give them to the priest.
Lev 15:15  ‘And the priest shall prepare them, the one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering. And the priest shall make atonement for him before יהוה because of his discharge.

Vs2b-15 is about an abnormal male discharge. According to some commentaries, this could have been caused by a sexually transmitted disease such as gonorrhea.

Midrash:
We note also that because of the private nature of the discharge, one had to determine by oneself the nature and seriousness of the discharge.
Sexually transmitted diseases can cause infertility – see vs 3 “blocked” or “stopped up.” These diseases can even cause insanity if not treated as is the case with syphilis.
This reminds us of the importance of receiving the pure seed of the Word of YHVH.

1Pe 1:23  having been born again – not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible – through the living Word of Elohim, which remains forever,

Today these physical symptoms have spiritual applications in the community of believers.
Many are not receiving the seed of the Word because of doctrinal defilement – others are virtually “insane” by virtue of continual defiling indoctrination.

Only those who have received the incorruptible word will be able to survive in the last days. This incorruptible seed can be compared to the Torah of YHVH as seen and taught by Yashua and his talmadim.

We note that the normal discharges are cleansed by water – mikva.
The abnormal discharges require and offering brought to the priest.

C.   Lev 15:16  ‘And when a man has an emission of semen, then he shall wash all his flesh in water, and be unclean until evening.
Lev 15:17  ‘And any garment and any leather on which there is semen, shall also be washed with water, and be unclean until evening.

                             X.  Lev 15:18  ‘And when a woman lies with a man, and there is an emission of semen, they both shall bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.

C.   A woman in “Niddah”:  Lev 15:19  ‘And when a woman has a discharge, and the discharge from her flesh is blood, she has to be in her separation for seven days. And whoever touches her is unclean until evening.
Lev 15:20  ‘And whatever she lies on during her separation is unclean. And whatever she sits on is unclean.
Lev 15:21  ‘And anyone who touches her bed has to wash his garments, and shall bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.
Lev 15:22  ‘And whoever touches any object that she sat on has to wash his garments, and shall bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.
Lev 15:23  ‘And if it is on the bed or on any object on which she sits, when he touches it, he is unclean until evening.
Lev 15:24  ‘And if any man lies with her at all, and her monthly flow is on him, he shall be unclean seven days. And any bed he lies on is unclean.

      B.  Lev 15:25  ‘And when a woman has a discharge of blood for many days, other than at the time of her monthly separation, or when she discharges beyond her usual time of monthly separation, all the days of her unclean discharge shall be as the days of her monthly separation. She is unclean.
Lev 15:26  ‘Any bed on which she lies all the days of her discharge is to her as the bed of her monthly separation. And whatever she sits on is unclean, as the uncleanness of her monthly separation.
Lev 15:27  ‘And anyone who touches them is unclean, and shall wash his garments, and shall bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.
Lev 15:28  ‘But if she is cleansed of her discharge, then she shall count for herself seven days, and after that she is clean.
Lev 15:29  ‘And on the eighth day she takes for herself two turtledoves or two young pigeons, and shall bring them to the priest, to the door of the Tent of Meeting.
Lev 15:30  ‘And the priest shall prepare the one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering, and the priest shall make atonement for her before יהוה for the discharge of her uncleanness.

Midrash:

There may be many reasons why a woman would continue to bleed. This state could remind us that something is wrong both physically and possibly spiritually and it needs to be healed so that the “seed” can be received and life can be produced.

A.     Summary: Lev 15:31  ‘Thus you shall separate the children of Yisra’ĕl from their uncleanness, lest they die in their uncleanness when they defile My Dwelling Place which is in their midst.

English translation: Blessed art Thou, YHVH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has made us set apart through His commandments and commanded us to actively study Torah.

One of the greatest challenges coming out of “Christianity” is forming a sound redemptive framework that accommodates all of scripture. Sadly Christians see the “Old Testament” as an “old” way of salvation and the “New Testament” as a new way of salvation.

The truth is that Yahshua HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE and no man will or can ever come to YHVH without Yahshua. This is the teaching of both the “Old Testament and New Testament”

We only need to look in “Yisrael’s Song Book” – the book of Psalms to see how well developed this Messianic understanding was. Yahshua taught us this in the Apostolic scriptures (or Second Writings/NT):

Luk 24:44  And He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all have to be filled that were written in the Torah of Mosheh and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.”
Luk 24:45  Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,

David had a deep understanding of the Messiah and his redemptive work.

Psa 2:12  Kiss the Son, lest He be enraged, And you perish in the way, For soon His wrath is to be kindled. Blessed are all those taking refuge in Him.

Psa 8:4  What is man that You remember him? And the son of man that You visit him?

Psa 16:10  For You do not leave my being in the grave, Neither let Your Kind One see corruption.

Psa 18:21  For I have guarded the ways of יהוה, And have not acted wrongly against my Elohim.
Psa 18:22  For all His right-rulings are before me, And I did not turn from His laws.
Psa 18:23  And I am perfect before Him,

Psa 22:1  My Ěl, My Ěl, why have You forsaken Me – Far from saving Me, far from the words of My groaning?
Psa 22:9  For You are the One who took Me out of the womb; Causing Me to trust while on My mother’s breasts.
Psa 22:10  I was cast upon You from birth. From My mother’s belly You have been My Ěl.
Psa 22:11  Do not be far from Me, For distress is near; For there is none to help.
Psa 22:16  For dogs have surrounded Me; A crowd of evil ones have encircled Me, Piercing My hands and My feet;
Psa 22:17  I count all My bones. They look, they stare at Me.
Psa 22:18  They divide My garments among them, And for My raiment they cast lots.

51:7, Heb. 10:7-9.

Psa 45:7  You have loved righteousness and hated wrongness1; Therefore Elohim, Your Elohim, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions. Footnote: 1Heb. 1:8-9.

Psa 110:1  יהוה said to my Master, “Sit at My right hand, Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”
Psa 110:2  יהוה sends Your mighty sceptre out of Tsiyon. Rule in the midst of Your enemies!
Psa 110:4  יהוה has sworn and does not relent, “You are a priest forever According to the order of Malkitseḏeq.”

The book of Hebrews acknowledges an offering system and a service of the Temple, it does not say that it has been done away with. It would serve us well to make a careful study of the book of Hebrews from a Hebraic perspective.

Heb 10:1  For the Torah, having a shadow of the good matters to come, and not the image itself of the matters, was never able to make perfect those who draw near with the same slaughter offerings which they offer continually year by year.
Heb 10:2  Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered? Because those who served, once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins.
Heb 10:3  But in those offerings is a reminder of sins year by year.
Heb 10:4  For it is impossible for blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

Heb 9:11  But Messiah, having become a High Priest of the coming good matters, through the greater and more perfect Tent not made with hands, that is, not of this creation,
Heb 9:12  entered into the Most Set-apart Place once for all, not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood, having obtained everlasting redemption.
Heb 9:13  For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the defiled, sets apart for the cleansing of the flesh,
Heb 9:14  how much more shall the blood of the Messiah, who through the everlasting Spirit offered Himself unblemished to Elohim, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living Elohim?
Heb 9:15  And because of this He is the Mediator of a renewed covenant, so that, death having taken place for redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, those who are called might receive the promise of the everlasting inheritance.

We live in a world that is paying a very heavy price for ignoring the Torah of YHVH. Within the Torah is the framework of our redemption. There can be no more important pursuit in this life that embracing and growing into a deeper understanding and appreciation of our redemption in Messiah.

What do we learn from this? Atonement functions on two levels: one related to the earthly tabernacle or Temple (we may designate as “temporal atonement”) and one related to one’s eternal standing of righteousness before YHVH (we may designate this as “eternal atonement”)

We are also reminded that Yahshua is priest of a heavenly tabernacle and his priesthood is a superior priesthood to the Aaronic priesthood. Our redemption includes both an Aaronic priesthood as well as a Melchizidek or Messianic priesthood. This is the method that YHVH has chosen and may not be altered by men. We have been given instructions and appointments in the Torah to remind of us of how YHVH will bring us into perfection. Nowhere ever in the book of Hebrews does it say these offerings are to be ignored. We know from Yahshua’s own words that while heaven and earth are still here every word in the Torah is to be embraced and obeyed if we desire to enter into the New Yerushalayim for all eternity.

Heb 8:1  Now the summary of what we are saying is: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Greatness in the heavens,
Heb 8:2  and who serves in the set-apart place and of the true Tent, which יהוה set up, and not man.
Heb 8:3  For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and slaughters. So it was also necessary for this One to have somewhat to offer.
Heb 8:4  For if indeed He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the Torah,
Heb 8:5  who serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly, as Mosheh was warned when he was about to make the Tent. For He said, “See that you make all according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”

Lev 14:1  And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,
Lev 14:2  “This shall be the Torah of the leper for the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought to the priest,

Note once again the use of the future tense verb in vs two (zot tiyiye torat hametzorah) As far as we know, there is not a single case of tzaraat in the history of Israel before Yahshua came, that could fulfill this command of showing oneself to the priest and presenting the offering required after having been healed. The only exception is Miryam, Moshe’s sister. She was struck with this affliction and most likely fulfilled this command, see Numbers 12. The Syrian servant, Na’aman, was cleansed from tzaraat when he dipped in the Yarden at the command of the prophet Elisha, but since he was not an Israelite, this command about going to the priest to bring an offering does not apply. Why then, has the Torah given these instructions, if they were not needed in the long history of Israel? As an answer to that question, the thought has been presented that it meant that when the Messiah would come, he would, among other things, cleanse those who have tzaraat. This is one of the signs that identify the true Messiah. That is why it is written in Luke 7:18-23,

“The talmidim of Yochanan told him about all these things. Yochanan, calling to himself two of his talmidim, sent them to Yahshua saying, ‘Are you the one who is coming, or should we look for another?’ When the men had come to him, they said, ‘Yochanan the immerser has sent us to you, saying, “Are you he who comes, or should we look for another?”’ In that hour he cured many of diseases and plagues and evil spirits; and to many who were blind he gave sight. Yahshua answered them, ‘Go and tell Yochanan the things which you have seen and heard: that the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them. Blessed is he who is not offended by me.’”(HNV)

The expression, “one who is coming” or “the one who comes”, is a Messianic expression. The Messiah is “the one who comes”, in Hebrew “ha-bah”. The answer that Yahshua gave to Yochanan’s disciples teaches us that “lepers” being cleansed is one of the signs that the people were waiting for in order to identify the true Messiah.

In Matthew 8:3-4, it is written,

“Yahshua stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, ‘I want to. Be made clean.’ Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Yahshua said to him, ‘See that you tell nobody, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moshe commanded, as a testimony to them.’”(HNV revised)

What was the testimony that the priests needed? The testimony that the Messiah had come. Because of this miracle, all the priests in the temple knew that the Messiah was already present. This was probably one of the reasons why so many of the priests later came to faith in Yeshua, as it is written in Acts 6:7,

“The word of Eloha increased and the number of the talmidim multiplied in Yerushalayim exceedingly. A great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.”(HNV revised)

Lev 14:3  and the priest shall go out of the camp, and the priest shall look and see, if the leprosy is healed in the leper,

Here we see the evidence of “temporal atonement.”  The condition appeared because there was a need for coming into harmony with Torah and those around us. Once the situation was properly addresses and dealt with healing and cleansing would once again be restored.

Lev 14:4  Then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two birds alive and clean, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop:
Lev 14:5  And the priest shall command that one of the birds be killed in an earthen vessel over running water:
Lev 14:6  As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water:
Lev 14:7  And he shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird loose into the open field.
Lev 14:8  And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water, that he may be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, and shall tarry abroad out of his tent seven days.

The rabbis admit that they do not know the depth of the reason why these things were used to cleanse a metzora (the one who has tzaraat).
One of the birds comes to die, and the other to be released. This can symbolize two things. The first thing that they symbolize is the person who has tzaraat and was as good as dead, without fellowship with anyone, and expelled from the camp of Israel. The bird that must die represents the death of the leper. The living bird that is released, symbolizes the leper who now is released from the terminal plague that bound him.
On the other hand, and foremost of all, the two birds symbolize the Messiah; especially his death and resurrection. The bird that dies, speaks prophetically about the death of the Messiah, and the bird that is released speaks prophetically about the resurrection of the Messiah. The whole process of cleansing from tzaraat is connected with the Messiah. That is why we can also find, in this context, a piece of wood, which speaks of the death of the Messiah that had to be on a tree. It is very interesting to note that hyssop also comes into the Scriptural arena once again in connection with the death of Yahshua as we read in Yochanan/John 19:29 “A bowl of sour wine stood there, and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and held it to His mouth. Verse 30  So when יהושע took the sour wine He said, “It has been accomplished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit”. This also teaches us that the death of the Messiah has to do with the cleansing ceremony for tzaraat. The scarlet wool yarn symbolizes the blood and the priestly ministry. The wool yarn came from sheep. It was dyed red. It also speaks of the death of the Messiah. The Messiah is symbolized by the “red thread” that runs throughout all of Scripture, see Joshua 2:18, 21.
The living bird (that is put together with the cedar tree) symbolizes the Messiah, who was hung on a tree in order to thus cleanse man from the leprosy of sin. The living bird was dipped in the blood of the dead bird. That symbolizes the Messiah’s moment of death. The living bird is not left in the blood in the water, until it dies, but is taken up from it. That symbolizes the resurrection of the Messiah.

Lev 14:9  “And on the seventh day it shall be that he shaves all the hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he shaves off. And he shall wash his garments and wash his body in water, and shall be clean.
Lev 14:10  “And on the eighth day he takes two male lambs, perfect ones, and one ewe lamb a year old, a perfect one, and three-tenths of an ĕphah of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering, and one log of oil.
Lev 14:11  “And the priest who is cleansing shall present the man who is to be cleansed, with these offerings, before יהוה, at the door of the Tent of Meeting.
Lev 14:12  “And the priest shall take one male lamb and bring it as a guilt offering, and the log of oil, and wave them as a wave offering before יהוה.
Lev 14:13  “And he shall slaughter the lamb in the place where he slaughters the sin offering and the burnt offering, in a set-apart place. For the guilt offering, like the sin offering, belongs to the priest. It is most set-apart.
Lev 14:14  “And the priest shall take some of the blood of the guilt offering, and the priest shall put it on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.

– It is possible that these verses says that the one who is being cleansed needed blood to be applied to the three places that represent the sin that brought tzaraat. If he allowed his ears to listen to lashon ha-rah, allowed his hand to do what it should not have, or if he let his foot go where it should not, then he would be struck with tzaraat. Therefore he had to be cleansed in these three places of his body.

Lev 14:15  “And the priest shall take some of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand.
Lev 14:16  “And the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle some of the oil with his finger seven times before יהוה.
Lev 14:17  “And of the rest of the oil in his hand, the priest puts some on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, on the blood of the guilt offering.
Lev 14:18  “And the rest of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he puts on the head of him who is to be cleansed. And the priest shall make atonement for him before יהוה.
Lev 14:19  “And the priest shall make the sin offering, and make atonement for him who is to be cleansed from his uncleanness. Then afterwards he slaughters the burnt offering.
Lev 14:20  “And the priest shall offer the burnt offering and the grain offering on the altar. And the priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be clean.
Lev 14:21  “But if he is poor and is unable to afford it, then he shall take one male lamb as a guilt offering to be waved, to make atonement for him, and one-tenth of an ĕphah of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering, and a log of oil,
Lev 14:22  and two turtledoves or two young pigeons, such as he is able to afford, and one shall be a sin offering and the other a burnt offering.
Lev 14:23  “And he shall bring them to the priest on the eighth day for his cleansing, to the door of the Tent of Meeting, before יהוה.
Lev 14:24  “And the priest shall take the lamb of the guilt offering and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them as a wave offering before יהוה.
Lev 14:25  “And he shall slaughter the lamb of the guilt offering, and the priest shall take some of the blood of the guilt offering and put it on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.
Lev 14:26  “Then the priest pours some of the oil into the palm of his own left hand.
Lev 14:27  “And the priest shall sprinkle with his right finger some of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before יהוה.
Lev 14:28  “And the priest shall put some of the oil that is in his hand on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of the right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, on the place of the blood of the guilt offering.
Lev 14:29  “And the rest of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he puts on the head of him who is to be cleansed, to make atonement for him before יהוה.
Lev 14:30  “And he shall prepare one of the turtledoves or young pigeons, such as he is able to afford,
Lev 14:31  that which he is able to afford, the one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering, with the grain offering. And the priest shall make atonement for him who is to be cleansed before יהוה.
