(Bless YHVH the
blessed One; Blessed is YHVH, the blessed One for all eternity. Blessed are
you, YHVH, our Elohim, King of the Universe, you have selected us from among
all the peoples, and have given us your Torah.)
Isa
29:10 For יהוה has poured
out on you the spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes, the prophets.
And He has covered your heads, the seers.
Isa
29:11 And the entire vision is to you like the words of a book that is
sealed, which men give to one who knows books, saying, “Read this, please.” And
he said, “I am unable, for it is sealed.”
Isa 29:18
And in that day the deaf shall hear (‘’shemu’’ masc. pl.)) the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind
shall see
(‘’tirena’’ fem.pl.) out of
gloom, and out of darkness.
When the leaders and prophets ‘’hear’’ the ‘’kehilah’’
or called out ones will see.
Dan
12:9 And he said, “Go, Dani’ěl, for the words are hidden and sealed till
the time of the end.[b] Footnote: bSee Dan_12:4.
Gen 40:1 And after these events it came to be that the
cupbearer and the baker of the sovereign of Mitsrayim sinned against their
master, the sovereign of Mitsrayim. (bread and wine are covenant symbols)
Gen 40:2 And Pharaoh was wroth with his two officers,(Heb
– sarisaiv – his eunuchs) the chief cupbearer and the chief baker.
The Hebrew word
for “officers” is “saris” and comes from the Hebrew verb “seres” which means to
castrate or distort. This alludes to the fact that all officers and leaders of
a false religious system are “castrated” by the system and are unable to
produce a life- giving word (distorted word) that can reveal to us the fullness
of who Yahshua is. It is not a coincidence that only a remnant are born again
from an incorruptible seed.
1Pe 1:23 having been born again – not of corruptible
seed, but incorruptible – through the living Word of Elohim, which remains
forever… (not a distorted word)
Gen 40:3 So he put them in confinement in the house of
the captain of the guard, in the prison, the place where Yosĕph was a prisoner.
Gen 40:4 And the captain of the guard put Yosĕph in
charge of them, and he served them. So they were in confinement for some time.
Gen 40:5 Then the cupbearer and the baker of the
sovereign of Mitsrayim, who were confined in the prison, dreamed a dream, both
of them, each man’s dream in one night and each man’s dream with its own
interpretation.
The
Hebrew word used for prison is “sohar” Strongs 5470 – meaning a “house of
roundness”
It
is rather ironic that the English word “church”(kirke) can also refers to a
“house of roundness”

Gen 40:6 And Yosĕph came in to them in the morning and
looked at them and saw that they were sad.
Gen 40:7 And he asked Pharaoh’s officers who were with
him in confinement of his master’s house, saying, “Why do you look so sad
today?”
Gen 40:8 And they said to him, “We each have dreamed a
dream, and there is no one to interpret it.” And Yosĕph said to them, “Do not
interpretations belong to Elohim? Relate them to me, please.”
Gen 40:9 So the chief cupbearer related his dream to
Yosĕph, and said to him, “See, in my dream a vine was before me,
Gen 40:10 and in the vine were three branches, and it
was as though it budded – its blossoms shot forth, and its clusters brought
forth ripe grapes.
Gen 40:11 “And Pharaoh’s cup was in my hand. So I took
the grapes and pressed them into Pharaoh’s cup, and placed the cup in Pharaoh’s
hand.”
Gen 40:12 And Yosĕph said to him, “This is the
interpretation of it: The three branches are three days.
Gen 40:13 “Yet, within three days Pharaoh is going to
lift up your head and restore you to your place, and you shall put Pharaoh’s
cup in his hand according to the former ruling, when you were his cupbearer.
Gen 40:14 “But remember me when it is well with you,
and please show kindness to me. And mention me to Pharaoh, and get me out of
this house.
Gen 40:15 “For truly I was stolen away from the land of
the Heḇrews.
And also I have done naught that they should put me into the dungeon.”
Gen 40:16
And the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, and he said to
Yosĕph, “I also was in my dream and saw three white baskets were on my head,
Gen 40:17
and in the uppermost basket all kinds of baked goods for Pharaoh, and
the birds ate them out of the basket on my head.”
Gen 40:18
And Yosĕph answered and said, “This is the interpretation of it: The
three baskets are three days.
Gen 40:19
“Yet, within three days Pharaoh is going to lift off your head from you
and hang you on a tree. And the birds shall eat your flesh from you.”
Gen 40:20
And on the third day, Pharaoh’s birthday, it came to be that he made a
feast for all his servants. And he lifted up the head of the chief cupbearer
and of the chief baker among his servants,
Gen 40:21
and he restored the chief cupbearer to his post of cupbearer again, and
he placed the cup in Pharaoh’s hand,
Gen 40:22
but he hanged the chief baker, as Yosĕph had interpreted to them.
Gen 40:23
And the chief cupbearer did not remember Yosĕph, but forgot him.
This is covenantal language – bread and wine – in
YHVH’s covenant there is both life and death. The cup bearer and baker could be
a hidden reference to those who minister YHVH’s covenant to His people.
2Co
4:11 For we, the living, are always delivered to death for the sake of יהושע, that
the life of יהושע might
also be manifested in our mortal flesh,
2Co
4:12 so that death indeed is working in us, but the life in you.
Rom 10:4 For Messiah is the goal1 of the
‘Torah unto righteousness’ to everyone who believes. Footnote: 1Or
end purpose; not termination.
Mat 12:38 Then some of the scribes and
Pharisees answered, saying, “Teacher, we wish to see a sign from You.”
Mat 12:39 But He answering, said to
them, “A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall
be given to it except the sign of the prophet Yonah.
Mat 12:40 “For as Yonah was three
days and three nights in the stomach of the great fish, Jon_1:17 so
shall the Son of Aḏam be three days and three nights in the heart of the
earth.
Mat 12:41 “Men of Ninewěh shall stand
up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented
at the preaching of Yonah, and look, a greater than Yonah is here.
Mat 13:34 יהושע said all this to the crowds in parables,
and He did not speak to them without a parable,
Mat 13:35 so that
what was spoken by the prophet might be filled, saying, “I shall open My mouth
in parables, I shall pour forth what has been hidden from the foundation of the
world.”
Psa 78:1 My people, give ear to my Torah1,
Incline your ears to the words of my mouth. Footnote: 1In vv. 1-11
the words “teaching, words, witness, commands, covenant,” are used
interchangeably, as parallels, almost synonymously. We find the same in Ps.
119.
Psa 78:2 I open my mouth in a parable; I utter riddles
of old,
Psa 78:3 Which we have heard and known, For our
fathers have related them to us.
Mar 4:34 and He was not speaking to them without
parables. And when they were alone, He explained all to His taught ones.
Mat 13:13 “Because of this I speak to them in parables,
because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they
understand.
Mat 13:14 “And in them the prophecy of Yeshayahu is
completely filled, which says, ‘Hearing you shall hear and by no means
understand, and seeing you shall see and by no means perceive,
Mat 13:15 for the heart of this people has become
thickened, and their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed,
lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should
understand with their heart, and turn back, and I heal them.’
Mat 13:16 “And blessed are your eyes because they see,
and your ears because they hear,
Mat 13:17 for truly I say to you, that many prophets
and righteous ones longed to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear
what you hear, and did not hear it.
Isa 6:9 And He said, “Go, and you shall say to this
people, ‘Hearing, you hear, but do not understand; and seeing, you see, but do
not know.’
Isa 6:10 “Make the heart of this people fat, and their
ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with
their ears, and understand with their heart, and shall turn and be healed.”
Isa 6:11 Then I said, “יהוה, until when?” And He answered, “Until the
cities are laid waste and without inhabitant, and the houses are without a man,
and the land is laid waste, a ruin,
Isa 6:12 and יהוה has removed men far away, and the forsaken places be many in
the midst of the land.
Isa 6:13 “But
still, there is a tenth part in it, and it shall again be for a burning, like a
terebinth tree and like an oak, whose stump remains when it is cut down. The
set-apart seed is its stump!”
Mar 7:6 And He
answering, said to them, “Well did Yeshayahu prophesy concerning you
hypocrites, as it has been written, ‘This people respect Me with their lips,
but their heart is far from Me.
Mar 7:7 And in vain
do they worship Me, teaching as teachings the commands of men.’ a Isa_29:13.
Footnote: aAlso see 2Ki_17:19 and Mat_15:3-9.
Mar 7:8 “Forsaking the command
of Elohim, you hold fast the tradition of men.”
Mar 7:9 And He said to
them, “Well do you set aside the command of Elohim, in order to guard your
tradition.
Possible
interpretations of the parables of our Torah portion.
It is possible
that Yosef was in prison for three and a half years – We believe that Yahshua ministered on earth for three and half years. We also
see and believe that the final 7 years of this present age will be divided into
two three and a half year periods. We also believe that a Torah Septenial cycle
was three and a half years.
Perhaps the
narrative of this Torah portion is to prepare us for the end times – especially
the final three and half years where true believers will have to flee for their
lives and hide in the wilderness. During this time the greatest and most
powerful time of ministry will be taking place on earth.
Joe 2:28 “And after this it shall be
that I pour out My Spirit on all flesh. And your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy, your old men dream dreams, your young men see visions.
Joe 2:29 “And also on the male
servants and on the female servants I shall pour out My Spirit in those
days.
Joe 2:30 “And I shall give signs in
the heavens and upon the earth: blood and fire and columns of smoke,
Joe 2:31 the sun is turned into
darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and
awesome day of יהוה.
Joe 2:32 “And it shall be that
everyone who calls on the Name of יהוה shall be delivered.[b] For on Mount Tsiyon and
in Yerushalayim there shall be an escape[c] as יהוה has said, and among the survivors whom יהוה calls. Footnotes: b Act_2:21, Rom_10:13. c Isa_4:2-3,
Oba_1:17, Rev_14:1.
Oba 1:17 “But on Mount Tsiyon there
shall be an escape,[a] and they shall be set-apart. And the house of Ya‛aqoḇ shall possess
their possessions. Footnote: a Isa_4:2-3, Joe_2:32, Rev_14:1.
Oba 1:18 “And the house of Ya‛aqoḇ
shall be a fire, and the house of Yosěph a flame, but the house of Ěsaw for
stubble. And they shall burn among them and they shall consume them, so that no
survivor is left of the house of Ěsaw.” For יהוה has spoken.
Rev 12:13 And when the dragon saw that
he had been thrown to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the
male child.
Rev 12:14 And the woman was given two
wings of a great eagle, to fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is
nourished for a time and times and half a time, Dan_7:25, Dan_12:7
from the presence of the serpent.
Rev 12:15 And out of his mouth the
serpent spewed water like a river after the woman, to cause her to be swept
away by the river.
Rev 12:16 And the earth helped the
woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river which the
dragon had spewed out of his mouth. .
Rev 12:17 And the dragon was enraged
with the woman, and he went to fight with the remnant of her seed, those guarding
the commands of Elohim and possessing the witness of יהושע Messiah.
So, this Torah
portion reminds us that it will get so bad on earth in the last days that only
a few who have knowledge and cling to this Torah portion will survive.
