Parashat 55 Portion 3 ‘’Ha Azinu’’ Deut 32:12 – Revelation 2:12 –

Blessed are You, YHVH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has made us set apart through His commandments and commanded us to engross ourselves in the words of the Torah. Blessed are You, YHVH, Giver of the Torah – Amein

התגלות המשיח The Revelation of Messiah

Outline of the Song of Moses – Summary of the Torah Parashiyot – Includes both the Tanach and Apostolic Writings – (Old and New Testament)

  • Israel's creation and YHVH's gracious treatment (Dt 32:1-14, vv5-6 are YHVH’s deep disappointment towards His people, but also reveals the path of their redemption)
  • YHVH’s faithfulness despite Israels unfaithfulness. (Dt 32:15-19)
  • YHVH's judgment decreed (Dt 32:20-35)
  • YHVH's promise of victory over all adversaries of Israel (Dt 32:36-43)

Deuteronomy 32:15-18  details Israel's (and all believers) ingratitude, defection and rebellion despite Yahweh's provision of an abundance of good things! (during the last days)

19. Dev 32:12 יהוה alone led him, - (Heb נחה or guided them) YHVH (m) - , בָּדָד (m) alone or in separate isolation – the foundation of the covenant of 10 sayings Ex 20.

 יְהוָה, בָּדָד יַנְחֶנּוּ

19(b) And there was no strange mighty one with him.

וְאֵין עִמּוֹ, אֵל נֵכָר - נכר – (m) foreign gods or strange Elohim – עִמּוֹ – with Him (prep)

Isa 43:11  “I, I am יהוה, and besides Me there is no saviour.

יא  אָנֹכִי אָנֹכִי, יְהוָה; וְאֵין מִבַּלְעָדַי, מוֹשִׁיעַ.        11  I, even I, am YHVH; and beside (apart from) Me there is no saviour.  מִבַּלְעָדַי or ‘’there never will be’’ Strongs H1107

20. Dev 32:13 “He made him ride in the heights of the earth,

יַרְכִּבֵהוּ עַל-במותי בָּמֳתֵי אָרֶץ – who is Moses referring to here?  Messiah? Or Israel?

Lit. Heb. states – He caused him to ride on the high places of the high places (Heb –‘’bâmâh’’ high places of worship). Note how these two words which mean the same are differently spelled

Eph 2:6  and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenlies in Messiah יהושע, Eph 2:7  in order to show in the coming ages the exceeding riches of His favour in kindness toward us in Messiah יהושע

In the wilderness of the great tribulation there will be a heightened spiritual awareness of what is happening around us. This will be like a time we have never experienced before in our lives, with an expectation of even greater things to come.

20(b) And he ate the fruit ‘’tenûbâh’’ (f) of the fields,(m)

וַיֹּאכַל תְּנוּבֹת שָׂדָי

Eze 36:26  “And I shall give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. And I shall take the heart of stone out of your flesh, and I shall give you a heart of flesh,

Eze 36:27  and put My Spirit within you.[a] And I shall cause you to walk in My laws and guard My right-rulings and shall do them. Footnote: aSee Ezk_11:19-20, Ezk_37:6-14, Ezk_39:29

Eze 36:28  “And you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers. And you shall be My people, and I shall be your Elohim.

Eze 36:29  “And I shall save you from all your uncleannesses. And I shall call for the grain and increase it, and I shall bring no scarcity of food upon you.

Eze 36:30  “And I shall increase (tenûbâh) the fruit of your trees and the increase of your fields, so that you need never again bear the reproach of scarcity of food among the nations.

Eze 36:31  “And you shall remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good. And you shall loathe yourselves in your own eyes, for your crookednesses and your abominations.

Eze 36:32  “Not for your sake am I acting,” declares the Master יהוה, “let it be known to you. Be ashamed and blush for your ways, O house of Yisra’ěl!”

21. Deut 32:14  And He made him to draw (suck) honey (m) from the rock,(‘sela‛- crag or a cliff)

וַיֵּנִקֵהוּ דְבַשׁ מִסֶּלַע, -

Psa 19:7  The Torah of יהוה is perfect, bringing back the being … Psa 19:10  More desirable than gold, Than much fine gold; And sweeter than honey and the honeycomb.

In the harsh conditions of the great tribulation the meditating in the Torah will be more precious and sweeter than ever before.

21(b)  And oil (m) from the flinty (m)rock, (m)

וְשֶׁמֶן מֵחַלְמִישׁ צוּר.

The Torah like anointing oil poured forth - refers to a verse in the Song of Solomon (1:3), which compares the fragrance of the beloved's name to "oil poured out". This imagery is used to express the idea that the Torah, or YHVH's word, is like a fragrant and desirable substance, spreading its influence and blessing like a sweet-smelling oil. (oil used for light)

22. Dev 32:14 “Curds from the cattle, And milk of the flock,

חֶמְאַת בָּקָר וַחֲלֵב צֹאן, ‘’kefir’’ חֶמְאַ is fermented or matured milk.

Speaking of YHVH’s anointed ones coming into maturity -  Isa 7:15 says  “He eats curds and honey when He knows to refuse evil and choose the good. See vs 14

22(b) With fat of lambs, ‘’or a fat כָּרִים lamb’’(m) or the choice part חֵלֶב (m) of a sacrificial ram אֵילִים

עִם-חֵלֶב כָּרִים וְאֵילִים

YHVH’s anointed will also enjoy the choice parts of the sacrificial lambs.

23. And rams of the breed of Bashan, And goats, vs 14

בְּנֵי-בָשָׁן וְעַתּוּדִים

And the he goats (attûd) rams that belonged to the sons בְּנֵי  of Bashan. Israels conquered enemies that used to be a place of giants.

Why does the song repeat the provision and enjoyment of these delicacies?

Maybe the use of ‘Bashan’’ is drawing our attention to the simultaneous feasting of idolatrous believers during the great tribulation.

23(b) with the choicest wheat; כִּלְיוֹת – the fat of the kidneys of wheat – the choicest part.

עִם-חֵלֶב, כִּלְיוֹת חִטָּה

Even those who say they love Him yet inwardly despise Him will enjoy YHVH’s provision with deceit.

Psa 81:15  “Those who hate יהוה would cringe (be untrue) before Him; And their time of punishment be forever. Psa 81:16  “He would feed them with the finest of wheat; And with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.”

24. And you drank wine, the blood of the grapes.

וְדַם-עֵנָב, תִּשְׁתֶּה-חָמֶר  -

They will even celebrate the feasts with malice and deceit in their heats - 1Co 5:8  So then let us celebrate the festival, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of evil and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

24 (b) Dev 32:15 “But Yeshurun (m) grew fat and kicked; (rebelled)

וַיִּשְׁמַן יְשֻׁרוּן וַיִּבְעָט,

Jeshurun = “upright one”- a symbolic name for Yisrael describing her ideal character – yet they became ‘’ spiritually fat’’ and rebelled.

Deu 6:10  “And it shall be, when יהוה your Elohim brings you into the land of which He swore to your fathers, to Araham, to Yitsaq, and to Ya‛aqo, to give you great and good cities which you did not build, Deu 6:11  and houses filled with all kinds of goods, which you did not fill, and wells dug which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant, and you shall eat and be satisfied – Deu 6:12  be on guard, lest you forget יהוה who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim, from the house of bondage.

25. You grew fat, שָׁמַנְתָּ you grew thick, עָבִיתָ (overweight)  You are covered with fat; כָּשִׂיתָ gluttonous.

שָׁמַנְתָּ עָבִיתָ כָּשִׂיתָ;

Now the ‘’spiritual fatness’’ manifested itself in the way they walked – with ungratefulness.

This will be the same kind of behaviour their fathers were guilty of during the ‘’first exodus’’ out of Egypt.

‘’The children of Israel wandered in the “desert” for 40 years (cf. Ex. 19:223:31). They numbered over 600,000 adult men (Ex. 12:37Num. 1:1–4:49), which would be a total population of some 2,5 million. But, Deuteronomy 32:13–14 speaks of there being plenty of produce for them and their flocks, which seems highly improbable for this many people and flocks in a “desert.”

The Hebrew word “desert” does not imply the total desolation that it may suggest today. It can be translated “wilderness.” There were rivers and pastures in this wilderness.

There is good evidence, even from modern times, that this wilderness had far more water and vegetation than it presently does, as is demonstrated by archaeological exploration of the remains of previous civilizations in that area.

YHVH Himself provided for all their needs in the wilderness in several ways:
  1. He provided them ample food (manna) for the entire 40 years (Ex. 16:35).
  2. He also gave water “abundantly” for them and their flocks (Num. 20:11).
  3. Since they came with “a great deal of livestock” (Ex. 12:38), they would naturally have plenty   of milk to drink.

 4. By commerce with the surrounding nations (Midianites, Edomites, and Ishmaelites), they could obtain other needed things with the large amount of silver and gold they took from Egypt (cf. Ex. 12:35–36). They built a tabernacle and overlaid its furniture with pure gold.

1Co 10:1  For I do not wish you to be ignorant, brothers, that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea,

1Co 10:2  and all were immersed into Mosheh in the cloud and in the sea,

1Co 10:3  and all ate the same spiritual food,

1Co 10:4  and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed, and the Rock was Messiah.

1Co 10:5  However, with most of them Elohim was not well pleased, for they were laid low in the wilderness. (will most be laid low again during the great tribulation?)

1Co 10:6  And these became examples for us, so that we should not lust after evil, as those indeed lusted.

1Co 10:7  And do not become idolaters as some of them, as it has been written, “The people sat down to eat and to drink, and stood up to play.” Exo_32:6

1Co 10:8  Neither should we commit whoring, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell,

1Co 10:9  neither let us try Messiah, as some of them also tried, and were destroyed by serpents,

1Co 10:10  neither grumble, as some of them also grumbled, and were destroyed by the destroyer.

1Co 10:11  And all these came upon them as examples, and they were written as a warning to us, on whom the ends of the ages have come,

1Co 10:12  so that he who thinks he stands, let him take heed lest he fall.

1Co 10:13  No trial has overtaken you except such as is common to man, and Elohim is trustworthy, who shall not allow you to be tried beyond what you are able, but with the trial shall also make the way of escape, enabling you to bear it.

25(b) So he forsook וַיִּטֹּשׁ Eloah who made him, (m)

 וַיִּטֹּשׁ אֱלוֹהַּ עָשָׂהוּ

It seems impossible that such a thing could happen again, but it will.

Spurgeon - Many can endure the trials of adversity who cannot escape the perils of prosperity.

Amo 8:11  “See, days are coming,” declares the Master יהוה, “that I shall send a hunger in the land, not a hunger for bread, nor a thirst for water, but for hearing the Words of יהוה. Amo 8:12  “And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from north to east – they shall diligently search, seeking the Word of יהוה, but they shall not find it.a Footnote: a Jer_5:13, Hos_8:12, Ezk_34:3-10.

26.And scorned the Rock of his deliverance.

וַיְנַבֵּל צוּר יְשֻׁעָתוֹ.

And you disgraced  the ‘’Rock’’ who brought you salvation.

Heb. “va yin a bel” to treat with contempt.

26(b) Dev 32:16 “They moved Him to jealousy with foreign matters,

יַקְנִאֻהוּ, בְּזָרִים;

We respond by making YHVH jealous  קנא  many will prostitute זוּר themselves with foreign gods –

27.With abominations בְּתוֹעֵבֹת (that which causes horror and is disgusting)  they provoked Him.

בְּתוֹעֵבֹת, יַכְעִיסֻהוּ

תּועבה – ‘’disgusting things’’ that provoke YHVH to anger - , יַכְעִיסֻהוּ

Eze 16:33  “To all whores they give gifts, but you gave gifts to all your lovers, and bribed them to come to you from all around in your whorings. Eze 16:34  “Thus you are different from other women in your whorings, because no one whores after you, and in you giving a harlot-fee, while a harlot-fee was not given to you. Thus you are different.” Eze 16:35  Therefore, O whore, hear the word of יהוה! (His people willingly ‘’open their legs’’ to receive an ‘’impure seed’’ from their Baal priest pastors) what an abomination   תּועבה

27(b)Dev 32:17 “They slaughtered to demons (shedim offspring of fallen angels - Enoch )– not Eloah

יִזְבְּחוּ, לַשֵּׁדִים לֹא אֱלֹהַּ

Is it possible that an end time of ‘called-ones’ will not only repeat the sins of the Israelites in the wilderness they will do even worse things?

28. Mighty ones they did not know,

אֱלֹהִים, לֹא יְדָעוּם;

28(b) New ones who came lately, מִקָּרֹב that will draw near to them during the great tribulation.

חֲדָשִׁים מִקָּרֹב בָּאוּ,

Rev 12:3  And another sign was seen in the heaven: and see, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns on his heads. Rev 12:4  And his tail draws a third of the stars of the heaven and throws them to the earth. Rev 12:9  And the great dragon was thrown out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who leads all the world astray. He was thrown to the earth, and his messengers were thrown out with him.

29.Which your fathers did not fear.

לֹא שְׂעָרוּם אֲבֹתֵיכֶם – they were not horrified שְׂעָרוּם  by them.

Is it possible that this kind of behaviour could take place during the great tribulation?

During the 7 seal judgments during the great tribulation it appears that there will be a massive release of demons on the earth. Rev 9:1- 3

The prophet Habakkuk (the one who embraces reality) describes the events of the end times –

Hab 1:5  “Look among the nations and see, and be amazed, be amazed! For a work is being wrought in your days which you would not believe if it were told.

Hab 1:6  “See, I am raising up the Kasdim, (a demonically controlled people) a bitter and hasty nation, who is going through the breadth of the earth, to possess dwelling places that are not theirs. (possess disobedient believers)

Despite their great wickedness and destruction… Hab 2:14  for the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the esteem of יהוה, as the waters cover the sea![a] Footnote: a Isa_11:9

Describing the 42 months of the great tribulation Ezekiel says the following:

Eze 20:33  “As I live,” declares the Master יהוה, “do not I, with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out, reign over you?

Eze 20:34  “And I shall bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the lands where you are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out.

Eze 20:35  “And I shall bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and shall enter into judgment with you face to face there. (protected from the antichrist but not from our idolatry)

Eze 20:36  “As I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Mitsrayim, so I shall enter into judgment with you,” declares the Master יהוה

Eze 20:37  “And I shall make you pass under the rod, and shall bring you into the bond of the covenant,

Eze 20:38  and purge (purify you from) the rebels from among you, and those who transgress against Me. From the land where they sojourn I bring them out, but they shall not come into the land of Yisra’ěl. And you shall know that I am יהוה

The Book of Revelation of Messiah:

‘’Our unfaithfulness and deception regarding the identity of Messiah is so deep that it will require all the catastrophic events of the great tribulation to bring us to our senses.’’

To the Assembly in Pergamum – these are ‘’tribulation’’ assemblies.

Rev 2:12  “And to the messenger of the assembly in Pergamos write, ‘He who has the sharp two-edged sword, says this: Rev 1:16  And in His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword,[b] and His face was as the sun shining in its strength. Footnote: bSee Rev_2:16, Isa_49:2, Heb_4:12

Heb 4:12  For the Word of Elohim is living, and working, and sharper than any two-edged sword, cutting through even to the dividing of being and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Heb 4:13  And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all are naked and laid bare before the eyes of Him with whom is our account.

Not the word coming out of a Baal priests mouth – the word coming out of Rabbi Yahshua’s mouth.

Rev 2:13  “I know your works, and where you dwell, where the throne of Satan is. And you hold fast to My Name, and did not deny the belief in Me, even in the days in which Antipas was My trustworthy witness, who was killed near you,(by so called believers) where Satan dwells.

Rev 2:14  “But I hold a few matters against you, because you have there those who adhere to the teaching of Bil‛am, who taught Balaq to put a stumbling-block before the children of Yisra’ěl, to eat food offered to idols, and to commit whoring. (Baal priest pastors)

Rev 2:15  “So you also have those who adhere to the teaching of the Nikolaites, which teaching I hate. Rev 2:16  “Repent, or else I shall come to you speedily and fight against them with the sword of My mouth.

Talking to believers Yahuda/Jude says:

Jud 1:11  Woe to them! Because they have gone in the way of Qayin, and gave themselves to the delusion of Bil‛am for a reward, and perished in the rebellion of Qora.[b] Footnote: b Jud_1:7-11; compare with 2Pe_2:6-15. Jud 1:12  These are (hidden) rocky reefs (cause great damage and harm many people) in your love feasts, feasting with you, feeding themselves without fear, waterless clouds borne about by the winds, late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots, Jud 1:13  wild waves of the sea foaming up their own shame, straying stars for whom blackness of darkness is kept forever. Jud 1:14  And ano, the seventh from Aam, also prophesied of these, saying, “See, יהוה comes with His myriads of set-apart ones, Jud 1:15  to execute judgment on all, to punish all who are wicked among them concerning all their wicked works which they have committed in a wicked way, and concerning all the harsh words which wicked sinners have spoken against Him.” (Judgment of the great tribulation)

Rev 2:17  “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes I shall give some of the hidden manna to eat.(that opens your eyes) And I shall give him a white stone, and on the stone a renewed Name written which no one knows except him who receives it.” ’

To the Assembly in Thyatira

Rev 2:18  “And to the messenger of the assembly in Thyatira write, ‘This says the Son of Elohim, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like burnished brass: Dan_10:5-6

Fire and brass speak of severe judgment. A combination of copper and zinc are heated to almost 1000 degrees C to form the brass metal.

Rev 2:19  “I know your works, and love, and service, and belief, and your endurance. And as for your works, the last are more than the first.

Rev 2:20  “But I hold against you that you allow (Gk - tolerate and pardon) that woman Izeel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and lead My servants astray to commit whoring and to eat food offered to idols.

What is a Jezebel spirit?

To understand this spirit we need to go back to its origins and how this spirit entered into the world and how it controls not only a rebellious woman, but has captured all of mankind (men too).

Jezebel comes from two Hebrew words – ‘’against oneness’’  against YHVH’s Oneness with His people and against His people being one with His Torah and one with His truth.

The spirit of Jezebel will always try to destroy or undermine the servants of YHVH who oppose and expose this spirit – 1 Kings 18:4. Those who enjoy a oneness with Him and with others.

See the story of Eliyahu/Elijah and the Baal prophets – In 1 Kings 17 Elijah prayed for drought over Israel for three and a half years in order to bring judgment over this stronghold – will Eliyaju/Elijah be one of the end time witnesses of the great tribulation? Rev 11:3-6 -  Rev 11:3  “And I shall give unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clad in sackcloth.” Rev 11:6  These possess authority to shut the heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy. And they possess authority over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they wish.

Jas 5:17  Ěliyahu was a man with feelings like us, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain. And it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. (same period as great tribulation)

Even after Eliyahu’s/Elijah’s victory over the Baal priests, Baal worship continued to flourish in Israel.

Rev 2:21  “And I gave her time to repent of her whoring, and she did not repent. Rev 2:22  “See, I am throwing her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great affliction, (Rev 16) unless they repent of their works. Rev 2:23  “And I shall slay her children with death. And all the assemblies shall know that I am the One searching the kidneys and hearts. And I shall give to each one of you according to your works. Rev 2:24  “And to you I say, and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not possess this teaching, and who have not known the depths of Satan, as they call them, I am not putting on you another burden. Rev 2:25  “But hold fast what you have until I come. Rev 2:26  “And he who overcomes, and guards My works (Gk ‘’ergon’’)until the end, to him I shall give authority over the nations, Psa_2:8

Rev 22:14  “Blessed are those doing His commands, so that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of life, and to enter through the gates into the city.

Rev 2:27  and he shall shepherd them with a rod of iron, as the potter’s vessels shall be broken to pieces, (It is a sign of unbending, absolute authority, not cruelty.  If you are a sheep, one of the people of His pasture, then that rod of iron protects, guides, and defends you. If you are a wolf—or a dragon—then that rod of iron will be your destruction. Evil, no matter how well established or highly organized, will be broken like pottery under the firm application of divine justice. The world will be made right. The Shepherd will care for His flock.)

Rev 2:28  “And I shall give him the morning star. (Yahshua himself will be given to us because he is the bright morning star during millennium)

2Pe 1:19  And we have the prophetic word made more certain, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts,

Rev 2:29  “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.” ’

Mat 24:21  “For then there shall be great distress,[c] such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. Footnote: cOr great pressure, or great affliction

Mat 24:22  “And if those days were not shortened, no flesh would be saved, but for the sake of the chosen ones those days shall be shortened.

I personally believe one of the very few ways there will be to survive the great tribulation will be to find one of the 144 000 witnesses and join yourself to one of them.(if they will accept you)

Jer 50:19  “And I shall bring back Yisra’ěl to his pasture, and he shall feed on Karmel and Bashan. And his being shall be satisfied on Mount Ephrayim and Gil‛a. Jer 50:20  “In those days and at that time,” declares יהוה, “the crookedness of Yisra’ěl shall be searched for, but there shall be none; and the sin of Yehuah, but none shall be found. For I shall pardon those whom I leave as a remnant. (even a faithful remnant will need to be pardoned before they enter the millennium)

Blessed are you YHVH, our Elohim, King of the Universe, you have given us your Torah of truth and have planted everlasting life within our midst. Blessed are you, YHVH giver of the Torah. Amein.
