Parashat 15 Portion 54 Shemot 12:29-51 Yesh 21:11 – 22:4 1 Thess 4:13-18

This parashah details the events of the first Pesach, and particularly the application of the blood on the doorposts (mezuzot) of the Hebrew homes. A number of issues confront us from this portion.

This Pesach event was meant to be a continual reminder of our coming out of spiritual bondage and paying the price to walk as our Messiah walked. The example of Yahshua and his followers was to keep this vitally important appointment every year from the 14 of Aviv. Sadly this commandment and several other commandments are not taken seriously by many who claim to  be seekers after the truth and followers of Yahshua.

History reminds us that after the first Pesach they only had a second Passover in the wilderness (Bemidbar/Numbers 9:1-5) and then the children of Yisrael would wait for the rest of the 40 years before they had their next Passover.

Thus, throughout the history of the children of Israel, the Passover celebration, or the neglect of it, stood out as a thermometer indicating the Jewish community's spiritual condition.

Sadly the church has not only ignored this set appointment, they have altered the appointment according to pagan customs – Easter.

Exo 12:29  And it came to be at midnight that יהוה smote all the first-born in the land of Mitsrayim, from the first-born of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the first-born of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the first-born of livestock.

The other plagues could have been regarded as acts of nature, however there would be no doubt in anyone’s mind that this final plague was definitely the Hand of YHVH.

If we midrash around this issue, what kind of modern equivalent situation could be considered?

Perhaps the illegitimate authority and control of Judaism, Christianity, Islam and every other counterfeit man made religion or philosophy will have to be destroyed before true lasting and genuine liberty can be realized amongst the end time remnant. This may have to happen before Yahshua return to rule and reign on earth and teach the nations the Torah of YHVH.

Exo 12:30  And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he and all his servants, and all the Mitsrites. And there was a great cry in Mitsrayim, for there was not a house where there was not a dead one.

Exo 12:31  Then he called for Mosheh and Aharon by night, and said, “Arise, go out from the midst of my people, both you and the children of Yisra’ĕl. And go, serve יהוה as you have said.

Exo 12:32  “Take both your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and go. Then you shall bless me too.”

Exo 12:33  And the Mitsrites urged the people, to hasten to send them away out of the land. For they said, “We are all dying!”

Exo 12:34  And the people took their dough before it was leavened, having their kneading bowls bound up in their garments on their shoulders.

In order to fully understand this final plague, we must appreciate the hierarchy within Egyptian civilization. It was a society ruled by primogeniture. The first-born had absolute power within the family unit.
The Egyptians worshipped lambs, the Hebrews offered them up to YHVH for purposes of atonement.
Today many Christians worship the Lamb instead of identifying with his (Yahsua’s) giving up of himself. It is easier to worship the Messiah than to emulate him.


Christianity may well have brought upon all mankind the greatest bondage imaginable by obscuring the true Messiah from the world.

A future time may come when the judgment against human religion will be so devastating that the rulers of this world will do everything in their power to make sure the remnant return to the land of Yisrael, unhindered and carrying much wealth with them.

Exo 12:35  And the children of Yisra’ĕl had done according to the word of Mosheh, and they had asked from the Mitsrites objects of silver, and objects of gold, and garments.

Exo 12:36  And יהוה gave the people favour in the eyes of the Mitsrites, so that they gave them what they asked, and they plundered the Mitsrites.

There seems to be an ethical question about the intention of the Yisraelites. They were going to “ask” for objects of wealth knowing that they would not return them to their former captors. Then it appears that they “plundered” the Mitsrites. The Hebrew word here is the piel verb form “natzal”- this verb has a root meaning of “saving or rescuing.” It is possible to understand it to mean that by the Mitsrites showing  favour to Yisrael and giving them items of silver and gold, they were actually “saving” themselves“ from total destruction. This was a small token of compensation to the Yisraelites for all their years of hard unpaid labour.

Exo 12:37  And the children of Yisra’ĕl set out from Raʽmeses to Sukkoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides the little ones.

Rameses represented pagan sun worship – Sukkoth (the place where they came to) represented the Hebrew remnant that YHVH called to return to the land of Yisrael  where YHVH would establish His Kingdom.

YHVH is calling a Hebrew remnant once again in these last days to turn their backs on all forms of Sunday worship and return to the ancient paths of our fathers and Sabbath keeping.

Exo 12:38  And a mixed multitude went up with them too, also flocks and herds, very much livestock.

Exo 12:39  And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they had brought out of Mitsrayim, for it was not leavened, since they were driven out of Mitsrayim, and had not been able to delay, nor had they prepared food for themselves.

Exo 12:40  And the sojourn of the children of Yisra’ĕl who lived in Mitsrayim was four hundred and thirty years.

Exo 12:41  And it came to be at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, on that same day it came to be that all the divisions of יהוה went out from the land of Mitsrayim.

Exo 12:42  It is a night to be observed unto יהוה for bringing them out of the land of Mitsrayim. This night is unto יהוה, to be observed by all the children of Yisra’ĕl throughout their generations.

Is this possibly the pattern that will repeated once again in the last days – “leshanah ha ba ah bi yerushalayim” ( ‘next year in Yerushalayim’)

Exo 12:43  And יהוה said to Mosheh and Aharon, “This is the law of the Passover: No son of a stranger is to eat of it,

Exo 12:44  but any servant a man has bought for silver, when you have circumcised him, then let him eat of it.

Exo 12:45  “A sojourner and a hired servant does not eat of it.

Exo 12:46  “It is eaten in one house, you are not to take any of the flesh outside the house, nor are you to break any bone of it.

Exo 12:47  “All the congregation of Yisra’ĕl are to perform it.

Exo 12:48  “And when a stranger sojourns with you and shall perform the Passover to יהוה, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and perform it, and he shall be as a native of the land. But let no uncircumcised eat of it.

Exo 12:49  “There is one Torah for the native-born and for the stranger who sojourns among you.”

Exo 12:50  And all the children of Yisra’ĕl did as יהוה commanded Mosheh and Aharon, so they did.

Exo 12:51  And it came to be on that same day that יהוה brought the children of Yisra’ĕl out of the land of Mitsrayim according to their divisions.

Torah according to Mattityahu (Matthew)

 Mat 22:29  And יהושע answering, said to them, “You go astray, not knowing the Scriptures (Ketuvim))or the power of Elohim. Footnote: ¹Mk. 12:24.

If you know the writings (Ketuvim) will you know the Torah and the prophets?

Mattithayu records 5 sermons or discourses made by our Master. On closer examination of these five discourses we find significant parallels to the five books of the Torah.

These similarities prove that believers in Yahshua were never meant to distance themselves and the Second Writings(New Testament) from the Torah.

Hebrew name - Mattithyahu: "gift of Yah"

Mattityahu did not write the “first gospel” to introduce the church age – he wrote an account of how Yahshua came to reveal the relevance of the Torah and to show us how the Torah guides and keeps us in the Kingdom of YHVH.

“Mattityahu Levi was a tax collector in Capernaum on Lake Kinneret [Sea of Galilee]. He worked in a Roman customs house which was located in the area because of the bustling trade in the area around the lake. Being a tax collector meant that Mattityahu held a special Roman status; which afforded him societal position, and wealth commensurate with it. His good status with the Romans was offset by the disdain that many of his fellow countrymen held for him.”

1Co 1:26  For look at your calling, brothers, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble.

1Co 1:27  But Elohim has chosen the foolish matters of the world to put to shame the wise, and Elohim has chosen the weak of the world to put to shame the strong.

1Co 1:28  And Elohim has chosen the low-born of the world and the despised, and the ones that are not, that He might bring to naught the ones that are,

1Co 1:29  so that no flesh should boast in His presence.

Mattityahu was a Levite.

Luk 5:27  And after this He went out and saw a tax collector named Lĕwi, sitting at the tax office, and said to him, “Follow Me.” (Mark 2:14)

A true Levite is one who is called to represent the True Messiah as revealed in the Torah.

Levi or Mattityahu was one of Yahshua’s 12 talmadim.

Major theme of Mattityahu: - “living in the kingdom now” – in the midst of a spiritual tension of the” already but not yet fully” Kingdom realization. (Paul addresses this issue in his letters)

It becomes obvious as you read the second writings that many of the Jewish people felt a sense of entitlement towards the kingdom to come. Today many Jews and Christians believe they will be granted automatic access into the “olam ha ba”( the world to come) simply because they are Jewish or born again Christians.

Mattityahu makes it very clear from Yahshua’s five sermons how the believer enters and becomes part of the Kingdom of YHVH forever – see Yoh 3:3-9 – note the difference on “seeing” and “entering” into the Kingdom of YHVH.

Eternal punishment and loss of reward.

It is fearful to consider that in the accounts of Yahshua’s life – he speaks about eternal punishment more than eternal rewards. His warning was directed to those who considered themselves believers of the truth.

Mat 23:15  “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you go about the land and the sea to win one convert, and when he is won, you make him a son of Gehenna twofold more than yourselves.

Mat 23:31  “Thus you bear witness against yourselves that you are sons of those who did murder the prophets 

Mat 23:32  and you fill up the measure of your fathers!

Mat 23:33  “Serpents, brood of adders! How would you escape the judgment of Gehenna?

14 times Yahshua uses the word “woe” which means cursed.

Mat 5:22  “But I say to you that whoever is wroth with his brother without a cause shall be liable to judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raka!’ shall be liable to the Sanhedrin. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be liable to fire of Gehenna.

Mat 5:29  “And if your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is better for you that one of your members perish, than for your entire body to be thrown into Gehenna.

Mat 5:30  “And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away from you. For it is better for you that one of your members perish, than for your entire body to be thrown into Gehenna.

Mat 10:28  “And do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the being. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both being and body in Gehenna.

Mat 11:23  And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to the heaven, shall be brought down to hell. For if the mighty works which have been done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

Mat 7:21  “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Master, Master,’ shall enter into the reign of the heavens, but he who is doing the desire of My Father in the heavens.

Mat 7:22  “Many shall say to Me in that day, ‘Master, Master, have we not prophesied in Your Name, and cast out demons in Your Name, and done many mighty works in Your Name?’

Mat 7:23  “And then I shall declare to them, ‘I never knew you, depart from Me, you who work lawlessness!’¹ Footnote: ¹ See v. 15.

Mat 7:12  “Therefore, whatever you wish men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Torah and the Prophets.

Mat 7:13  “Enter in through the narrow gate! Because the gate is wide – and the way is broad – that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter in through it.

Mat 7:14  “Because the gate is narrow and the way is hard pressed¹ which leads to life, and there are few who find it. Footnote: ¹Or the way is afflicted.

Mat 7:15  “But beware of the false prophets,¹ who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are savage wolves. Footnote: ¹See v. 23

Book of Mattityahu begins with the genealogy of Messiah.

Mat 1:17  So all the generations from Aḇraham to Dawiḏ were fourteen generations, and from Dawiḏ until the exile to Baḇel were fourteen generations, and from the exile to Baḇel until the Messiah were fourteen generations.

Mat 2:4  And having gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born.

Mat 2:5  And they said to him, “In Bĕyth Leḥem of Yehuḏah, for thus it has been written by the prophet,

Mat 2:6  ‘But you, Bĕyth Leḥem, in the land of Yehuḏah, you are by no means least among the rulers of Yehuḏah, for out of you shall come a Ruler who shall shepherd My people Yisra’ĕl.’ ”¹ Footnote: ¹Mic. 5:2.

Mission and Calling of Messiah.

Mat 5:17  “Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah or the Prophets.¹ I did not come to destroy but to complete. Footnote: ¹The Law and the Prophets is a term used for the pre-Messianic Scriptures.

Mat 5:18  “For truly, I say to you, till the heaven and the earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall by no means pass from the Torah till all be done.¹ Footnote: ¹Lk. 16:17.

Mat 5:19  “Whoever, then, breaks one of the least of these commands, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the reign of the heavens; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the reign of the heavens.

Mat 3:1  And in those days Yoḥanan the Immerser came proclaiming in the wilderness of Yehuḏah,

Mat 3:2  and saying, “Repent, for the reign of the heavens has come near!”

Mat 3:3  For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Yeshayahu, saying, “A voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way of יהוה, make His paths straight.’ ”¹ Footnote:¹Isa. 40:3.

Mat 3:4  And Yoḥanan had a garment of camel’s hair, and a leather girdle around his waist. And his food was locusts and wild honey.

Mat 3:5  Then Yerushalayim, and all Yehuḏah, and all the country around the Yardĕn went out to him,

Mat 3:6  and they were immersed by him in the Yardĕn, confessing their sins.

Mat 3:7  And seeing many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his immersion, he said to them, “Brood of adders! Who has warned you to flee from the coming wrath?

Mat 3:8  “Bear, therefore, fruits worthy of repentance,

Mat 3:9  and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Aḇraham as father.’¹ For I say to you that Elohim is able to raise up children to Aḇraham from these stones. Footnote: ¹John 8:33-34, Rom. 9:8.

Mat 3:10  “And the axe is already laid to the root of the trees. Every tree, then, which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. (Yahshua introduces an era where no mixture will be tolerated)

Mat 3:11  “I indeed immerse you in water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to bear. He shall immerse you in the Set-apart Spirit and fire.

Mat 3:13  Then יהושע came from Galil to Yoḥanan at the Yardĕn to be immersed by him.

Mat 3:14  But Yoḥanan was hindering Him, saying, “I need to be immersed by You, and You come to me?”

Mat 3:15  But יהושע answering, said to him, “Permit it now, for thus it is fitting for us to fill all righteousness.” Then he permitted Him.

Like Moshe Yahshua goes into the wilderness and fasts for 40 days and 40 nights.

Mat 4:1  Then יהושע was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tried by the devil.

Mat 4:2  And after having fasted forty days and forty nights, He was hungry.

Mat 4:3  And the trier came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of Elohim, command that these stones become bread.”

Mat 4:4  But He answering, said, “It has been written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of יהוה.’ ”¹ Footnote: ¹Dt. 8:3. – (Torah)

Mat 4:17  From that time יהושע began to proclaim and to say, “Repent, for the reign of the heavens has drawn near.”

Note Yahshua did not say the Kingdom will come one day – he said the Kingdom had come.

Our disobedience to Yahshua and His teachings have delayed us from entering into the fullness of His kingdom.

Mixed Multude.

Mat 4:24  And news about Him went out into all Syria. And they brought to Him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and pains, and those who were demon-possessed, and epileptics, and paralytics. And He healed them.

Mat 4:25  And large crowds – from Galil, and Dekapolis, and Yerushalayim, and Yehuḏah, and beyond the Yardĕn – followed Him. (Mixed multitude)

1 Sermon on the mount 5:1-7:28 – “Ha drasha al ha ar”  - Beresheet/Genesis

Gen1:1-2

א  בְּרֵאשִׁית, בָּרָא אֱלֹהִים, אֵת הַשָּׁמַיִם, וְאֵת הָאָרֶץ.

ב  וְהָאָרֶץ, הָיְתָה תֹהוּ וָבֹהוּ, וְחֹשֶׁךְ, עַל-פְּנֵי תְהוֹם; וְרוּחַ אֱלֹהִים, מְרַחֶפֶת עַל-פְּנֵי הַמָּיִם.

Gen 1:1  In the beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth.

Gen 1:2  And the earth came to be¹ formless and empty, and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Elohim was moving on the face of the waters. Footnote: ¹Or the earth became.

“Formless and empty” in Hebrew is “tohu ve bahu” Strongs 8414 & 922 which can mean “chaotic and empty”  The CLV translation goes on to say “and darkness was on the surface of the submerged chaos. Yet the Spirit of Elohim is vibrating over the surface of the waters” -  this describes our lives before we are born again and enter into YHVH’s Kingdom. And so the first discourse of Yahshua starts off by saying:

Mat 5:3  “Blessed are the poor in spirit, because theirs is the reign of the heavens.

Blessed are those who have come face to face with their “tohu ve bahu”….

According to a commentary the word “poor” can mean “to crouch like a helpless beggar” This word suggests an image of someone in abject poverty, totally dependent on others for help.

Yahshua’s sermon on the mount reveals the heart of one who can and has truly embraced the Torah of Yahveh and has submitted themselves in complete humility to becoming a totally new creation.

This reality reveals once again the essence of true intercession. If we reject the Torah we reject the very foundations upon which intercession is to be made for us.

Pro 28:9  He who turns away his ear from hearing the Torah, Even his prayer is an abomination¹. Footnote: ¹See also 15:29, Isa. 59:1-2, John 9:31, 1 John 3:22.

Parashat 15 Portion 53 Shemot/Exodus 12:13-28 Yer 46:13-28 Col 1:13-14

Exo 12:13  ‘And the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I shall pass over you, and let the plague not come on you to destroy you when I smite the land of Mitsrayim.

Concordant or literal version – “Then the blood will become a sign for you on the houses where you are. When I see `the blood I will pass over on you. And there shall not come to be a stroke on you to cause ruin when I smite− in the land of Egypt”

This final plague was a once off experience for the nation of Yisrael. The first Passover, blood was placed on the doorposts of their homes. When this appointment was kept subsequently, one did not place blood on the door posts of your house any longer.

   Today we know that the Passover has been given its fullest meaning by the shedding of the blood of our Messiah - Yahshua.

   Christianity has personalized the significance of this event. We see however the original pattern was for our households.

     For us to enter into a fuller revelation and understanding of our deliverance through the blood of Messiah we need to see its original context. This command to put blood on the doorposts was given to the children of Yisrael and all those who wanted to be “grafted” into Yisrael.

We cannot separate our redemption from the house of Yisrael.

We definitely cannot associate our redemption with easter bunnies and hot cross buns. If we do we may very well lose our protection when the angel of death “hovers over” our households.

Joh 6:53  יהושע therefore said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Aḏam and drink His blood, you possess no life in yourselves.

Joh 6:54  “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood possesses everlasting life, and I shall raise him up in the last day.

Joh 6:55  “For My flesh is truly food, and My blood is truly drink.

Joh 6:56  “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood stays in Me, and I in him.

Yahshua was referring to Passover kept the way the Torah teaches and realizing that this huge redemptive event was a directly associated with himself as being our Passover lamb. Failure to do so would have severe consequences – see Shemot/Exodus 12:43-51

1Co 5:7  Therefore cleanse out the old leaven, so that you are a new lump, as you are unleavened. For also Messiah our Passover was offered for us.

1Co 5:8  So then let us observe the festival, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of evil (depravity)and wickedness,(plotting iniquity) but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

In the book of Hebrews we are warned of our failure to recognize the seriousness of YHVH’s blood covenant.

Heb 10:28  Anyone who has disregarded the Torah of Mosheh dies without compassion on the witness of two or three witnesses.

Heb 10:29  How much worse punishment do you think shall he deserve who has trampled the Son of Elohim underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was set apart as common, and insulted the Spirit of favour?

The book of Hebrews was written to Jewish believers who had received Yahshua as the promised Messiah. The book of Hebrews was not written to Church Christians, who believe they have replaced Israel and the Jews and who believe that the Torah has been done away with or adjusted for a new dispensation of believers.

The Greek word translated “disregarded” G114 atheteō means to set aside, that is, (by implication) to disesteem, neutralize or violate: - cast off, despise, disannul, frustrate, bring to nought, reject. This word IS NOT WRITTEN IN THE PAST TENSE BUT WRITTEN IN THE PRESENT ONGOING TENSE.

Now a far more serious situation can and has faced some believers of the way the truth and the life. We must take careful note that vs 28 and 29 is written to believers in Yahshua.

A Christian author makes the following statements concerning those who deny Yahshua:

“But, when we cast off our profession, we declare before all, that we consider the blood of Christ as having no virtue at all as an atonement for sin, and as being, in fact, of no more efficacy than the blood of bulls and goats, or even of a malefactor, justly put to death.

 But, when we renounce the truth we have received, we insult that Divine Agent, as having borne witness to a falsehood: and we ascribe all His miracles either to Satanic agency, or to some mysterious imposture. We even laugh also at the impressions which He has made upon our minds, and deride all his merciful suggestions as fanaticism and delusion.

A person who has never received the knowledge of the truth, cannot commit this sin (they haven’t received Yahshua as the promised Messiah yet), or any sin of equal malignity. It is the resisting of light that has been imparted (when you first see that Yahshua is the Promised Messiah and accepted Yahshua as the Mediator between man and Elohim), and the acting contrary to it to such an extent as to call it darkness; this it is which makes the guilt so great, that, humanly speaking, it can never be forgiven. Were it indeed is repented of, and were mercy sought through the blood of Jesus, even this sin, great as it is, might be forgiven: but the commission of it implies such desperate wickedness and obduracy, that it never can, without a miracle of mercy, be repented of.

The real issue in security is not struggling believers, but the multitude of modern western church members who have no evidence of faith in their lives. Easy believism, coupled with an overemphasis on security, has filled  churches with baby Christians at best and lost people in Christian clothing at worst! Discipleship and the call for radical holiness are missing in a materialistic, capitalistic, decadent, modern western culture. Salvation has been turned into a product (a ticket to heaven at the end of a self-centered life or a fire insurance policy against ongoing sin) instead of a daily, growing, personal relationship with God. The goal of Christianity is not only heaven when we die (product), but Christlikeness now!! God wants to restore His image in mankind so that He can reach fallen humanity with His free offer of salvation in Christ. We are saved to serve! Security is a by-product of a life of service and discipleship – end quotes.

The Hebrew word “pasach” Strongs 6452 is translated as “pass over” in English. This Hebrew word comes from a root which can mean “to be lame” or to “limp.” According to some commentaries this word “pasach” can also mean to “hover or wobble.”

The use of the word “pasach” in Yesh 31:5 gives every indication that the base meaning is to “hover over or protect.”

Isa 31:5  “Like hovering birds, so does יהוה of hosts protect Yerushalayim – protecting and delivering, passing over and rescuing.”

Salvation was meant to be for those in households - Act 16:31  And they said, “Believe on the Master יהושע Messiah, and you shall be saved, you and your household.”

Exo 12:14  ‘And this day shall become to you a remembrance. And you shall observe it as a festival to יהוה throughout your generations – observe it as a festival, an everlasting law.

Exo 12:15  ‘Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. Indeed on the first day you cause leaven to cease from your houses. For whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that being shall be cut off from Yisra’ĕl.

Exo 12:16  ‘And on the first day is a set-apart gathering, and on the seventh day you have a set-apart gathering. No work at all is done on them, only that which is eaten by every being, that alone is prepared by you.

Exo 12:17  ‘And you shall guard the Festival of Unleavened Bread, for on this same day I brought your divisions out of the land of Mitsrayim. And you shall guard this day throughout your generations, an everlasting law.

Exo 12:18  ‘In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, in the evening, you shall eat unleavened bread until the twenty-first day of the month in the evening.

Exo 12:19  ‘For seven days no leaven is to be found in your houses, for if anyone eats what is leavened, that same being shall be cut off from the congregation of Yisra’ĕl, whether sojourner or native of the land.

Exo 12:20  ‘Do not eat that which is leavened – in all your dwellings you are to eat unleavened bread.’ ”

Exo 12:21  And Mosheh called for all the elders of Yisra’ĕl and said to them, “Go out and take lambs for yourselves according to your clans, and slaughter the Passover lamb.

Exo 12:22  “And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin, and you, none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning.

Exo 12:23  “And יהוה shall pass on to smite the Mitsrites, and shall see the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, and יהוה shall pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to smite you.

Exo 12:24  “And you shall guard this word as a law for you and your sons, forever.

Exo 12:25  “And it shall be, when you come to the land which יהוה gives you, as He promised, that you shall guard this service.

Exo 12:26  “And it shall be, when your children say to you, ‘What does this service mean to you?’

Exo 12:27  then you shall say, ‘It is the Passover slaughtering of יהוה, who passed over the houses of the children of Yisra’ĕl in Mitsrayim when He smote the Mitsrites and delivered our households.’ ” And the people bowed their heads and did obeisance.

Exo 12:28  And the children of Yisra’ĕl went away and did so – as יהוה had commanded Mosheh and Aharon, so they did.

Midrash:

Jer 46:17  “There they cried, ‘Pharaoh, sovereign of Mitsrayim, is but a noise. He has let the appointed time pass by!’

Jer 46:27  “But as for you, do not fear, O My servant Yaʽaqoḇ, and do not be discouraged, O Yisra’ĕl! For look, I am saving you from afar, and your descendants from the land of their captivity. And Yaʽaqoḇ shall return, and shall have rest and be at ease, with no one disturbing.

Jer 46:28  “Do not fear, O Yaʽaqoḇ My servant,” declares יהוה, “for I am with you. Though I make a complete end of all the gentiles to which I have driven you, yet I do not make a complete end of you¹. Derek Prince along with some brethren published a prophecy about the spiritual condition of the church and its leaders during the last days.

Prince said that a deep repentance would come and many believers including many pastors and leaders who thought they were “saved” will realize that they were in fact not saved.
