Parashat 20 – Tetzaveh-- you shall command

Shemot/ Exodus 27:20 – 30:10.

The use of the imperfect tense implies that this command has a future application as well. These commands must be carefully observed as they were given to all the generations of Yisrael a law forever to their generations (vs 21). Obviously we wait for the rebuilding of the Temple in Yerushalayim for these commandments to once again be strictly guarded and obeyed by a willing and waiting priesthood.

The Name of Moshe.

Tetzaveh is the only Torah portion in the book of Shemot where the name of Moshe is conspicuously left out. Why? The sages believe one of the reasons is that this Torah portion normally falls on the week of the 7 th of Adar. This was the date believed to be the death and the birth of Moshe rabbeinu (Moses our rabbi)

It is also believed that Moshe’s name is left out because Moshe asked YHVH in the next Torah portion to blot out his name from the book of life (Shemot 32:32). The request came about because YHVH wanted to bring a complete destruction upon Yisrael after the incident of the golden calf.

So great was our rabbi Moshe that he was willing to be cursed for the sake of his brethren. We see there was another great sage called Shaul who had the same heart as Moshe rabbeinu.

Rom 9:3  For I myself could have wished to be banished from Messiah for the sake of my brothers, my relatives according to the flesh,
Rom 9:4  who are Yisra’ĕlites, whose is the adoption, and the esteem, and the covenants, and the giving of the Torah, and the worship, and the promises,
Rom 9:5  whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Messiah according to the flesh, who is over all, Elohim-blessed forever. Amĕn.

These men had the mind of our Messiah who took upon himself our curse caused by our disobedience to YHVH’s eternal Torah.

Gal 3:13  Messiah redeemed us from the curse of the Torah, having become a curse for us – for it has been written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs upon a tree.”1 – Footnote: 1Dt. 21:23.
Gal 3:14  in order that the blessing of Aḇraham might come upon the nations in Messiah יהושע, to receive the promise of the Spirit through belief.

Essence and definition of the good news.

Gal 3:8  And the Scripture, having foreseen that Elohim would declare right the nations by belief, announced the Good News to Aḇraham beforehand, saying, “All the nations shall be blessed in you,”

Note some believe that the word ”gospel” comes from an ancient Celtic word to be under the spell of a god.

We would do well to reconsider carefully what the church has called the ”gospel.”

We cannot divorce the good news from the Torah, for the good news originates in the Torah. Our disobedience and rebellion towards the Torah will bring about our destruction.

Just as tragic has been the evil reports ”la shon ha ra” committed by some Jews when the name of Yahshua is mentioned and the role he played in securing our redemption.

Some Jewish scholars refer to Yahshua as ”Yeshu” and use it as a mischievous acronym. "Yeshu" has been used as an acronym from the Hebrew words “ימח שמו וזכרו(נו (Y'mach Sh'mo V'Zichro(no)” meaning "may his name and memory be obliterated"

Baruch ha Shem like Moshe, the name of Yahshua will never be blotted out, in fact the second writings clearly proclaim:

Php 2:9  Elohim, therefore, has highly exalted Him and given Him the Name which is above every name,
Php 2:10  that at the Name of יהושע every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
Php 2:11  and every tongue should confess that יהושע Messiah is Master, to the esteem of Elohim the Father.

Perhaps we should also consider the possibility that the name of Moshe is omitted in this Torah portion to remind us that without an intercessor and a dedicated priesthood that will stand in the gap for us, at any price, we will never be able to come and  dwell in the presence of the Almighty.

Heb 7:25  Therefore He is also able to save completely those who draw near to Elohim through Him, ever living to make intercession for them.

Many have been called to this priesthood but few will choose to truly walk in the footsteps of our fathers and of our Messiah BECAUSE THIS KIND OF LIFE REQUIRES GREAT DEDICATION AND COMES WITH A PRICE VERY FEW ARE WILLING TO PAY.

What makes this priestly ministry so important is that some of these priests have been in the very presence of YHVH and they and they alone can and will show us the way to come into and stay in the presence of YHVH. Many may claim to have been in the very presence of YHVH. If this were true there would be far more genuine repentance taking place in our and previous generations (we only need to consider the effect the day of Yom Kippur had on the nation of Yisrael).

Mat 22:14  “For many are called, but few are chosen."

We see a hidden reference to this cost in the opening instruction of this Torah portion where the command is given (tetzaveh) to bring oil to the place (mishkan) where the priests come before Yahveh to intercede for His people and the nations.

Blessing of Torah.

Baruch atah YHVH, Eloheynu, Melech ha-O’lam, asher bachar banu m’kol ha-amim,
v’natan lanu eht Torah-to.
Baruch atah YHVH, noteyn ha-Torah.
Ameyn.”

(Blessed are you, YHVH, our Elohim , King of the Universe,

you have selected us from among all the peoples,
and have given us your Torah.
Blessed are you, YHVH, giver of the Torah.
Ameyn.)

Aliyah Rishon 27:20-28:12

Shemot/Exo 27:20  “And you, you are to command the children of Yisra’ĕl to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light, to cause the lamp to burn continually.
Exo 27:21  “In the Tent of Meeting, outside the veil which is before the Witness, Aharon and his sons are to tend it from evening until morning before יהוהa law forever to their generations, from the children of Yisra’ĕl.

“shemen zait zach” means pure olive oil.

An olive tree never dies. Neither does it ever cease giving fruit. When some branches become old and stop giving fruit, they are cut off so that new shoots can come up that will give fruit. The olive tree needs approximately 10 years in order to begin giving fruit, but the most fruitful time does not begin until 40 years have passed. The leaves are always green. It does not need a lot of water and can manage well in a warm and dry climate. The olives have three important ingredients, oil, water, and alpechin. Olive oil is very healthy for the body. It is used for cooking, among other things. It can be mixed with flour to bake cakes. It can be used on salads or directly on bread and can also be used as fuel for oil lamps, as in this case in the tabernacle.

Olives are harvested during the winter. During the second temple period, there were three harvests per year. First the olives that were furthest out on the branches and were ripe first because of the sunshine were harvested. After that, the olives, which were further in on the branches were harvested. The third harvest close to the trunk were the olives that had ripened slowly.

There is a midrash that compares these three pressing to the outpouring of the Ruach Ha Kodesh (Set Apart Spirit) on the earth. (the word Messiah means one who is anointed – olive oil was used to anoint)

The first pressing came at Sinai – Shavuot – where the Torah was given to Moshe - Tehillim/Psa 119:105  Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. The Torah was given to a people that had come out of the bondage and suffering of Mitsrayim/Egypt for centuries.

The second pressing came after the suffering and death of Messiah on another “Feast of Shavuot” ("Feast of weeks in English". In Greek it was translated with Pentecoste which means "fifty" due to the 50 days counted between Pesach and Shavuot. The Greek word Pentecoste was transliterated to the word “Pentecost”). It was at this Shavuot after Yahshua's death, ressurrection and ascension where the Ruach (Spirit) was poured out in Yerushalyim on the Temple Mount – Yahshua the light of the world.

The third pressing of olives was made with great crushing stones that grinded over each other. This could be a picture of the outpouring of the Ruach during the time of the great tribulation, the coming together of Yisrael who will be a light to all the nations of the world. The olive tree was often beaten with rods to shake loose remaining olives that were situated close to the trunk of the tree.

YoEl/Joe 2:1  Blow a ram’s horn in Tsiyon, and sound an alarm in My set-apart mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the earth tremble, for the day of יהוה is coming, for it is near:
Joe 2:2  a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and thick darkness, like the morning clouds spread over the mountains – a people many and strong, the like of whom has never been, nor shall there ever be again after them, to the years of many generations.
Joe 2:27  “And you shall know that I am in the midst of Yisra’ĕl1, and that I am יהוה your Elohim and there is no one else. And My people shall never be put to shame. Footnote: 1See Isa. 24:23.
Joe 2:28  “And after this it shall be that I pour out My Spirit on all flesh. And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men dream dreams, your young men see visions.
Joe 2:29  “And also on the male servants and on the female servants I shall pour out My Spirit in those days.
Joe 2:30  “And I shall give signs in the heavens and upon the earth: blood and fire and columns of smoke,
Joe 2:31  the sun is turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of יהוה.

The first pressing was done by hand, the second by pressing weights and the third by was by a stone press.

“The word "Gethsemane" is derived from the Hebrew "gat shemanim" which means "oil press" - the implication being that the garden was in fact an olive grove...”

This stirs up within our hearts the image that the Father goes to a great deal of effort to bring the necessary forces to bear on the lives of those He has chosen to become like this precious olive oil used to bring life and light to His creation. When we submit to His processes and instruction we open our lives to receive the fullness of His Ruach. The same Rauch which was evident in and on the life of Messiah.

The true ministry of the Ruach can only take place as a result of crushing. We see this revealed in all the inner workings and material of the set apart place, the bread, wine, oil and spices for incense, each of these was subject to a process of crushing and burning before they were used to testify of and help usher in YHVH’s presence.

Shemot/Exo 28:1  “And you, bring near Aharon your brother and his sons with him, from among the children of Yisra’ĕl, for serving as priest to Me: Aharon, Naḏaḇ and Aḇihu, Elʽazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aharon.
Exo 28:2  “And you shall make set-apart garments for Aharon your brother, for esteem and for comeliness.
Exo 28:3  “And you, speak to all the wise of heart, whom I have filled with a spirit of wisdom, and they shall make the garments of Aharon, to set him apart, for him to serve as priest to Me.

The priestly garments remind us of the covering we lost in the garden and the restored covering that YHVH is in the process of restoring to us again.

Again we need to look into the deeper levels of Torah. When man was in the garden before he sinned, he was clothed with the esteem or the “shechinah” of YHVH, however when he sinned, he lost this covering of LIGHT and was aware of his nakedness. We see an interesting reference to this in the Hebrew words used for “light and skin”

The Hebrew word for "Light" is "OR"  spelled "aleph  vav  resh" - The Hebrew word for "Skin" is also "OR"  but is spelled "ayin  vav  resh" –

We know that man lost something very special when he sinned and became aware of his nakedness. He became aware of his own naked skin because he had lost the esteemed covering that came from YHVH.

The priestly garments represent the prophetic restoration of man’s original condition before YHVH.

Exo 28:4  “And these are the garments which they make: a breastplate, a shoulder garment, a robe, an embroidered long shirt, a turban, and a girdle. And they shall make set-apart garments for Aharon your brother and his sons, for him to serve as priest to Me.
Exo 28:5  “And they shall take the gold, and the blue and the purple and the scarlet material, and the fine linen,
Exo 28:6  and shall make the shoulder garment of gold, of blue and purple and scarlet material, and fine woven linen, the work of a skilled workman.
Exo 28:7  “It is to have two shoulder pieces joined at its two edges, and so it is joined together.
Exo 28:8  “And the embroidered band of the shoulder garment, which is on it, is of the same workmanship, made of gold, of blue and purple and scarlet material, and fine woven linen.
Exo 28:9  “And you shall take two shoham stones and engrave on them the names of the sons of Yisra’ĕl,
Exo 28:10  six of their names on one stone, and the remaining six names on the other stone, according to their birth.
Exo 28:11  “With the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a signet, engrave the two stones with the names of the sons of Yisra’ĕl. Set them in settings of gold.
Exo 28:12  “And you shall put the two stones on the shoulder pieces of the shoulder garment as stones of remembrance for the sons of Yisra’ĕl. And Aharon shall bear their names before יהוה on his two shoulders, for a remembrance.

Olive oil and the priestly garments have a connection - The Hebrew word for "oil" is shemen, which is the root of the Hebrew for "eight," shmoneh.

The High Priest had 8 different garments.

Those vestments which were common to all priests, were:

Michnasayim (breeches)—linen pants reaching from the waist to the knees "to cover their nakedness" (Exodus 28:42)
Ketonet (tunic)—made of pure linen, covering the entire body from the neck to the feet, with sleeves reaching to the wrists. That of the High Priest was embroidered (Exodus 28:39); those of the priests were plain (Exodus 28:40).
Avnet (sash)—that of the High Priest was of fine linen with "embroidered work" in blue and purple and scarlet (Exodus 28:39, 39:29); those worn by the priests were of white, twined linen.
Mitznefet (turban)—that of the High Priest was much larger than that of the priests and wound so that it formed a broad, flat-topped turban; that for priests was wound so that it formed a cone-shaped turban, called a migbahat. The tzitz, a golden plate inscribed with the words: "Set apartness unto YHVH" was attached to the mitznefet.

The vestments that were unique to the High Priest were:

Me'il ("Robe of the Ephod")—a sleeveless, blue robe, the lower hem of which was fringed with small golden bells alternating with pomegranate-shaped tassels in blue, purple, and scarlet - tekhelet[10], argaman, tolaat shani.
Ephod—a richly embroidered vest or apron with two onyx-stones on the shoulders, on which were engraved the names of the tribes of Israel
Choshen (Breastplate)—with twelve gems, each engraved with the name of one of the tribes; a pouch in which he probably carried the Urim and Thummim. It was fastened to the Ephod  (gematria 358)
Tzitz (crown)—a gold plate inscribed with the words "Set Apartness unto YHWH" which was attached to the front of the Mitznefet, so that it rested on his forehead

Urim and Tummim

The Urim and Tumim ("illuminator and verifier") (light and perfections or the light that brings perfect perfection)  was an inscription of the Name of YHVH. Inserted in the folds of the Breastplate, it caused the letters inscribed on its stones to light up in response to queries posed by the community leaders, as it is written (Number 27:21): "And [Joshua] shall stand before Elazar the priest, who shall ask counsel for him after the judgment of the Urim before YHVH: by this word shall they go out, and by this word they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him." This is why it was called the "breastplate of judgement," since it decided and determined things for the people. (Rashi; Talmud)

No one seems exactly sure what the urim and tummim were. There are a few possibilities. It would better serve our purposes if we consider the immense value that they have as the point us to the Messiah who was the perfect light that brought perfection into the world.

Aliyah Sheni -28:13-30

Shemot/Exo 28:13  “And you shall make settings of gold,
Exo 28:14  and two chains of clean gold like braided cords, and fasten the braided chains to the settings.
Exo 28:15  “And you shall make a breastplate of right-ruling, a work of a skilled workman, like the work of the shoulder garment. Make it of gold, of blue and purple and scarlet material, and fine woven linen.
Exo 28:16  “It is square, doubled, a span its length, and a span its width.
Exo 28:17  “And you shall put settings of stones in it, four rows of stones: The first row is a ruby, a topaz, and an emerald;
Exo 28:18  and the second row is a turquoise, a sapphire, and a diamond;
Exo 28:19  and the third row is a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst;
Exo 28:20  and the fourth row is a beryl, and a shoham, and a jasper. They are set in gold settings.
Exo 28:21  “And the stones are according to the names of the sons of Yisra’ĕl, twelve according to their names, like the engravings of a signet, each one with its own name, for the twelve tribes.
Exo 28:22  “And you shall make braided chains of corded work for the breastplate at the end, of clean gold.
Exo 28:23  “And you shall make two rings of gold for the breastplate, and shall put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate.
Exo 28:24  “And you shall put the two cords of gold in the two rings which are on the ends of the breastplate,
Exo 28:25  and the other two ends of the two cords you fasten to the two settings, and put them on the shoulder pieces of the shoulder garment in the front.
Exo 28:26  “And you shall make two rings of gold, and shall put them on the two ends of the breastplate, on the edge of it, which is on the inner side of the shoulder garment.
Exo 28:27  “And you shall make two rings of gold, and put them on the two shoulder pieces, underneath the shoulder garment, on the front of it, close to the seam above the embroidered band of the shoulder garment,
Exo 28:28  and they bind the breastplate by means of its rings to the rings of the shoulder garment, using a blue cord, so that it is above the embroidered band of the shoulder garment, so that the breastplate does not come loose from the shoulder garment.
Exo 28:29  “And Aharon shall bear the names of the sons of Yisra’ĕl on the breastplate of right-ruling over his heart, when he goes into the set-apart place, for a remembrance before יהוה, continually.
Exo 28:30  “And into the breastplate of right-ruling you shall put the Urim and the Tummim, and they shall be on the heart of Aharon when he goes in before יהוה. And Aharon shall bear the right-ruling of the children of Yisra’ĕl on his heart before יהוה, continually.

The twelve tribes of Yisrael have been chosen to bring light and judgment to the nations.

Aliyah Shlishi 28:31-43
Shemot/Exo 28:31  “And you shall make the robe of the shoulder garment all of blue. (Meil)
Exo 28:32  “And the opening for his head shall be in the middle of it, a woven binding all around its opening, like the opening in a scaled armour, so that it does not tear.
Exo 28:33  “And on its hem you shall make pomegranates of blue and purple and scarlet material, all around its hem, and bells of gold between them all around:
Exo 28:34  a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, on the hem of the robe all around.
This could be a reference to the fruit and gifts of the Ruach. The pomegranate contains fruit and the bells make known the nature of this fruit.

Exo 28:35  “And it shall be upon Aharon to attend in, and its sound shall be heard when he goes into the set-apart place before יהוה and when he comes out, so that he does not die.
Exo 28:36  “And you shall make a plate of clean gold and engrave on it, like the engraving of a signet: SET-APARTNESS TO יהוה.
Exo 28:37  “And you shall put it on a blue cord, and it shall be on the turban – it is to be on the front of the turban.
Exo 28:38  “And it shall be on the forehead of Aharon, and Aharon shall bear the guilt of the set-apart gifts which the children of Yisra’ĕl set apart in all their set-apart gifts. And it shall always be on his forehead, for acceptance for them before יהוה.
Exo 28:39  “And you shall weave the long shirt of fine linen, and shall make the turban of fine linen, and you shall make the girdle of woven work.
Exo 28:40  “And make long shirts for Aharon’s sons. And you shall make girdles for them, and you shall make turbans for them, for esteem and comeliness.
Exo 28:41  “And you shall put them on Aharon your brother and on his sons with him, and shall anoint them, and shall ordain them, and shall set them apart, and they shall serve as priests to Me.
Exo 28:42  “And make linen trousers for them, to cover their nakedness, reaching from the waist to the thighs.
Exo 28:43  “And they shall be on Aharon and on his sons when they come into the Tent of Meeting, or when they come near the altar to attend in the Set-apart Place, so that they do not bear crookedness and die – a law forever to him, and to his seed after him.

Aliyah Reviee - 29:1-18
Shemot/Exo 29:1  “And this is the task you shall do to them to set them apart to serve Me as priests: Take one young bull and two rams, perfect ones,
Exo 29:2  and unleavened bread, and unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil – make these of wheat flour.
Exo 29:3  “And you shall put them in one basket and bring them in the basket, along with the bull and the two rams.
Exo 29:4  “Then you shall bring Aharon and his sons to the door of the Tent of Meeting, and wash them with water.

Exo 29:5  “And you shall take the garments, and shall put on Aharon the long shirt, and the robe of the shoulder garment, and the shoulder garment, and the breastplate, and shall gird him with the embroidered band of the shoulder garment,
Exo 29:6  and shall put the turban on his head, and shall put the set-apart sign of dedication on the turban,
Exo 29:7  and shall take the anointing oil, and pour it on his head and anoint him.

Exo 29:8  “Then you shall bring his sons and put long shirts on them,
Exo 29:9  and shall gird them with girdles –
Aharon and his sons – and put the turbans on
them.
And the priesthood shall be theirs for an everlasting law.
So you shall ordain Aharon and his sons.
Exo 29:10  “And you shall bring near the bull before the Tent of Meeting, and Aharon and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the bull.
Exo 29:11  “And you shall slaughter the bull before יהוה, by the door of the Tent of Meeting,
Exo 29:12  and take some of the blood of the bull and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger, and pour all the blood beside the base of the altar.
Exo 29:13  “And you shall take all the fat that covers the entrails, and the appendage on the liver, and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them, and burn them on the altar.
Exo 29:14  “But the flesh of the bull, and its skin and its dung, you shall burn with fire outside the camp. It is a sin offering.
Exo 29:15  “And take one ram, and Aharon and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram,
Exo 29:16  and you shall slaughter the ram, and you shall take its blood and sprinkle it all around on the altar.
Exo 29:17  “And cut the ram in pieces, and wash its entrails and its legs, and place them upon its pieces and on its head.
Exo 29:18  “And you shall burn the entire ram on the altar. It is a burnt offering to יהוה, it is a sweet fragrance, an offering made by fire to יהוה.

Aliyah Chamishi 29:19-37
Shemot/Exo 29:19  “And you shall take the second ram, and Aharon and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram,
Exo 29:20  and you shall slaughter the ram, and take some of its blood and put it on the tip of the right ear of Aharon and on the tip of the right ear of his sons, on the thumb of their right hand and on the big toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the blood all around on the altar.
Exo 29:21  “And you shall take some of the blood that is on the altar, and some of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it on Aharon and on his garments, on his sons and on the garments of his sons with him. And he and his garments shall be set-apart, and his sons and the garments of his sons with him.
Exo 29:22  “And you shall take the fat of the ram, and the fat tail, and the fat that covers the entrails, and the appendage on the liver, and the two kidneys and the fat on them, and the right thigh – it is for a ram of ordination –
Exo 29:23  and one loaf of bread, and one cake made with oil, and one thin cake from the basket of the unleavened bread that is before יהוה.
Exo 29:24  “And you shall put all these in the hands of Aharon and in the hands of his sons, and you shall wave them – a wave offering before יהוה.
Exo 29:25  “Then you shall take them from their hands and burn them on the altar as a burnt offering, as a sweet fragrance before יהוה. It is an offering made by fire to יהוה.
Exo 29:26  “And you shall take the breast of the ram of Aharon’s ordination and wave it – a wave offering before יהוה, and it shall be your portion.
Exo 29:27  “And from the ram of ordination you shall set apart the breast of the wave offering which is waved, and the thigh of the contribution which is raised, of that which is for Aharon and of that which is for his sons.
Exo 29:28  “And it shall be from the children of Yisra’ĕl for Aharon and his sons by a law forever, for it is a contribution. And it is a contribution from the children of Yisra’ĕl from their peace offerings – their contribution to יהוה.
Exo 29:29  “And the set-apart garments of Aharon are for his sons after him, to be anointed in them and to be ordained in them.
Exo 29:30  “The priest from his sons in his place, puts them on for seven days, when he enters the Tent of Meeting to attend in the set-apart place.
Exo 29:31  “And take the ram of ordination and cook its flesh in a set-apart place.
Exo 29:32  “And Aharon and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram, and the bread that is in the basket, by the door of the Tent of Meeting,
Exo 29:33  and they shall eat those offerings with which the atonement was made, to ordain them, to set them apart. But let a stranger not eat them, because they are set-apart.
Exo 29:34  “And if any of the flesh of the ordination offerings, or of the bread, be left over until the morning, then you shall burn up what is left over. It is not eaten, because it is set-apart.
Exo 29:35  “And so you shall do to Aharon and his sons, according to all I have commanded you. Seven days you shall ordain them,
Exo 29:36  and prepare a bull each day as a sin offering for atonement. And you shall cleanse the altar when you make atonement for it, and you shall anoint it to set it apart.
Exo 29:37  “For seven days you shall make atonement for the altar, and set it apart. And the altar shall be most set-apart – whatever touches the altar is to be set-apart.

Aliyah Shishi 29:38-46
Shemot/Exo 29:38  “And this is what you prepare on the altar: two lambs, a year old, daily, continually.
Exo 29:39  “Prepare the one lamb in the morning, and the other lamb you prepare between the evenings,
Exo 29:40  and one-tenth of an ĕphah of flour mixed with one-fourth of a hin of pressed oil, and one-fourth of a hin of wine as a drink offering, with the one lamb.
Exo 29:41  “And prepare the other lamb between the evenings. And with it prepare the grain offering and the drink offering, as in the morning, for a sweet fragrance, an offering made by fire to יהוה
Exo 29:42  a continual burnt offering for your generations at the door of the Tent of Meeting before יהוה, where I shall meet with you to speak with you.
Exo 29:43  “And there I shall meet with the children of Yisra’ĕl, and it shall be set apart by My esteem.
Exo 29:44  “And I shall set apart the Tent of Meeting and the altar. And Aharon and his sons I set apart to serve as priests to Me.
Exo 29:45  “And I shall dwell in the midst of the children of Yisra’ĕl and shall be their Elohim.
Exo 29:46  “And they shall know that I am יהוה their Elohim, who brought them up out of the land of Mitsrayim, to dwell in their midst. I am יהוה their Elohim.

Aliyah Sheviee 30:1-10
Shemot/Exo 30:1  “And you shall make an altar to burn incense on, make it of acacia wood,
Exo 30:2  a cubit long and a cubit wide – it is a square – and two cubits high, its horns of the same.
Exo 30:3  “And you shall overlay its top, and its sides all around, and its horns with clean gold. And you shall make for it a moulding of gold all around.
Exo 30:4  “And make two gold rings for it, under the moulding on both its sides. Make them on its two sides, and they shall be holders for the poles to lift it with.
Exo 30:5  “And you shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold.
Exo 30:6  “And you shall put it before the veil that is before the ark of the Witness, before the lid of atonement that is over the Witness, where I am to meet with you.
Exo 30:7  “And Aharon shall burn on it sweet incense, morning by morning. As he tends the lamps, he shall burn incense on it.
Exo 30:8  “And when Aharon lights the lamps between the evenings, he shall burn incense on it – a continual incense before יהוה throughout your generations.
Exo 30:9  “Do not offer strange incense on it, or a burnt offering, or a grain offering, and do not pour a drink offering on it.
Exo 30:10  “And Aharon shall make atonement upon its horns once a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonement – once a year he makes atonement upon it throughout your generations. It is most set-apart to יהוה.”

The Altar of incense instructs us that prayer unto YHVH is YHVH’s chosen way to cause the priesthood to function and bring about a restoration of relationship between man and his Maker.

The measurement of the altar was the standard measurement from which the entire tabernacle was built – one cubit by one cubit.

The Hebrew word for “cubit” is “amah” which comes from the Hebrew word “em” which means “mother.”

The altar therefore becomes like a “mother” a “source of life” for the entire function and ministry of the tabernacle.

We once again need to ask ourselves about our devotional lives – are our prayers bonding and bringing together the purposes of YHVH into our lives and the lives of those around us?

Blessing for the Torah:
Baruch atah YHVH, Eloheynu, Melech ha-‘Olam,
asher natan lanu Toraht-emet,
v’chay-yeh o’lam nata-b’tochenu.
Baruch atah YHVH, noteyn ha-Torah. Ameyn.”

(Blessed are you YHVH, our Elohim, King of the Universe,
you have given us your Torah of truth,
and have planted everlasting life within our midst.
Blessed are you, Yahweh giver of the Torah.
Ameyn.)

The  High Calling of the Priesthood of Believers - Eddie Chumney

The spiritual attributes of Elohim's Bride is foreshadowed by the priesthood in the “Old Testament”. Therefore, Elohim's Bride has the same attributes as the “Old Testament” priests. What were the requirements of the priests in the Old Testament and how were these principles of Elohims Kingdom communicated by Elohim to the nation of Israel and to all believers today?
  1. Elohim desired for the nation of Israel and ALL believers to become a KINGDOM of priests (Exodus 19:5-6, 1 Peter 2:5,9, Revelation 5:10)
  2. Elohim desires for the nation of Israel and ALL believers to be a set apart and sanctified people (Exodus 28:1, 35-36, Leviticus 19:2, 20:7-8, Ephesians 5:26-27, 1 Peter 1:15-16)
  3. The clothing of the priests in the Old Testament is the same clothing as Elohim's Bride (Exodus 28, Psalm 45:8-15, Isaiah 61:1-3, 6,10, Revelation 19:7-8, 21:9-21)
  4. The primary duty of the priesthood and the Bride of Messiah is to teach Elohim’s Torah to His people (Leviticus 10:8,10-11, Deuteronomy 17:8-11, Jeremiah 18:18, Ezekiel 44:15, 23-24, Malachi 2:7, Matthew 5:17-19, John 1:38, 3:2; Hebrews 4:14-16)
  5. Those who reject Elohim’s Torah will NOT be priests before Him and will NOT be the Bride of Messiah (Hosea 4:6, 8:12, Matthew 7:23, 24:12)
  6. While it is Elohim’s perfect Will for ALL believers to be a kingdom of priests and to be the Bride of Yashua, those believers who mix paganism and the ways of the world with the worship of the Elohim of Israel, will be disqualified from being the Bride of Messiah (Exodus 32:1, 4-6, 1Kiings 12:25- 33, 1 Corinthians 1:2, 11:2,
    1 Thessalonians 4:1-7, 2 Timothy 2:19-22
    )
  7. As priests before Elohim, the eternal destiny of the Bride of Messiah is to teach the Torah to all nations and to dwell in the heavenly Jerusalem with Elohim for all eternity (Isaiah 2:2-3, Matthew 28:17-19, Revelation 21:9-10, 24-26)

Poem of our Messiah.
One Solitary Life.

He was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman.
He grew up in still another village where He worked in a carpenters shop until He was 30.
Then for three years He was an itinerant preacher
He was a defender of unpopular causes
He counted among His friends the poor and weak
He associated with outcasts and lawbreakers

He never wrote a book. He never held an office.
He never had a family or owned a home.
He didn’t go to college. He never visited a big city.
He never traveled more than 200 miles from the place of His birth.

He did none of the things one usually associates with greatness.
He had no credentials but Himself.
He was only 33 when the tide of popular opinion turned against Him, His friends ran away.
He was turned over to His enemies and went through the mockery of a trial.

He was nailed to a stake between two thieves.
While He was dying His executioners gambled for His clothing – the only possession He had on earth.
When He was dead He was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend.

Nearly 2000 years have come and gone, and today He is the central figure of the human race and the leader of mankind’s progress.
All the armies that ever marched, all the parliaments that ever sat, all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of man on this earth as much as that one solitary life.
And all the world has found inspiration in that one solitary life.
