Blessed are You, YHVH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has made us set apart through His commandments and commanded us to engross ourselves in the words of the Torah. Blessed are You, YHVH, Giver of the Torah – Amein
כי המצוה הזאת – ‘’for this command..’’
Psa
119:18 Open my eyes, that I might see Wonders from Your Torah.

Deu 30:11 “For this command which I am commanding you today, it is not too hard לא־נפלאת for you, nor is it far off.
פּלא pâlâ'BDB Definition:
1) to
be marvellous, be wonderful, be surpassing, be extraordinary, separate by
distinguishing action
1a1)
to be beyond one’s power, be difficult to do
1a2)
to be difficult to understand
1a3) to be wonderful, be extraordinary
What Moshe is saying that as amazing as these words are – what lies in the future is much more amazing. These words are like entry level commands.
Deu 30:12 “It is not in the heavens, to say, ‘Who
shall ascend into the heavens for us, and bring it to us, and cause us to hear
it, so that we do it?’
Deu 30:13 “Nor is it beyond the sea, to say, ‘Who
shall go over the sea for us, and bring it to us, and cause us to hear it, so
that we do it?’
Deu 30:14 “For the Word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart – to do it. לעשׂתו
The apostle Paul goes on to give a marvelous midrash on this Torah portion.
Rom
10:1 Truly
brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to Elohim for (all of) Yisra’ěl is for
deliverance. (salvation)
Rom
10:2 For I bear them witness that they have an ardour (Gk - ζῆλος – boiling )for Elohim, but not according
to knowledge. (both Jew and gentile)
Rom
10:3 For not knowing the righteousness of Elohim, and seeking to
establish their own righteousness, they did not subject themselves to[a] the
righteousness of Elohim. Footnote: aOr did not obey. (both Jew and
gentile)
Rom
10:4 For Messiah is the goal[b] of the ‘Torah unto righteousness’ to
everyone who believes. Footnote: bOr end purpose; not termination. (for
both Jew and gentile)
The
Message of Salvation to All
Rom
10:5 For Mosheh writes about the righteousness which is of the Torah, “The
man who does these shall live by them.” Lev_18:5. (Rashi and
others describe this as a future event because we all die in this life – the
concept of the already and the not yet fulfilment)
Rom
10:6 But the righteousness of belief speaks in this way, “Do not say
in your heart, ‘Who shall ascend into the heavens?’ ” Deu_30:12 –
that is, to bring Messiah down; or,
Rom
10:7 “ ‘Who shall descend into the abyss?’ ” – that is, to bring Messiah
up from the dead.
Rom 10:8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”
Vs 6&7 – sadly, many believers believe that they have ‘’arrived’’ they have the ‘’whole deal’’ and if you don’t believe as they do, your exclusion from His kingdom is inevitable.
What Moshe and Paul are teaching is what is required for a basic level entrance into the kingdom
We believe from the scriptures that Messiah has already descended into ‘’sheol’’, rose on the third day and presented Himself alive, being seen for forty days He then ascended into heaven – we who are ‘’standing’’(Netzavim) have not yet experienced this, so don’t talk and act like you have. Our spiritual journey has just begun. If we die before the rapture we will all first go to sheol – like all the set apart ones before us.
Psa
68:18 You
have ascended on high, You have led captivity captive, You have received gifts
among men, And even the rebellious, סָרַר That Yah Elohim might dwell there.
סָרַר -to turn away, that is backsliding, rebellious, revolter (-ing), slide back, stubborn, withdraw – even these will be taken captive by the Messiah in order to bring them back to their senses – this is why this message is called the ‘’Good news’’.
Rom 10:15 And how shall they proclaim if they are not sent? As it has been written, “How pleasant are the feet of those who bring the Good News שׁלום מבשׂר of peace, who bring the Good News of the good!” Isa_52:7. (yet many minister condemnation)
This is the ‘’good news’’ YHVH saves the rebellious and He even saves gentiles. (Mevaseret Zion)
Eph
4:7 But to each one of us favour was given according to the measure of
the gift of Messiah.
Eph
4:8 That is why it says, “When He went up on high, He led captivity
captive, and gave gifts to (for) men.” Psa_68:18. (Heb
‘’lakach’’ to capture or secure)
Eph
4:9 But what does “He went up” mean, except that He also first went down
into the lower parts of the earth?
Eph 4:10 He who went down is also the One who went up far above all the heavens, to fill all.
Psa 110:1 יהוה said to my Master, “Sit at My right hand, Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.” Mat 22:44 – (and to teach all nations the Torah – Is 2:2-4)
1Co
15:17 And if Messiah has not been raised, your belief is to no purpose,
you are still in your sins!
1Co
15:18 Then also those who have fallen asleep in Messiah have
perished.
1Co
15:19 If in this life only we have expectation in Messiah, we are of all
men the most wretched. (the best is yet to come – the First fruit –
Messiah has gone before us)
1Co
15:20 But now Messiah has been raised from the dead, and has become the
first-fruit of those having fallen asleep.
1Co
15:21 For since death is through a man, resurrection of the dead is also
through a Man.
1Co 15:22 For as all die in Aḏam, so also all shall be made alive in Messiah.
Rom
10:8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in
your heart”
Deu 30:14 “For the Word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart – to do it. לעשׂתו
Where do these words come from? From the mouth of YHVH – Moshe – Paul – even you and I.
Num 12:8 “I speak with him mouth to mouth, פה אל־פה and plainly, and not in riddles. And he sees the form of יהוה. So why were you not afraid to speak against My servant Mosheh?”
Deu 8:3 “And He humbled you, and let you suffer hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, to make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but by every Word that comes from the mouth of יהוה.a Footnote: aSee also Mat_4:4 and in Luk_4:4.
Isa 8:20 To the Torah and to the witness! If they do not speak according to this Word, it is because they have no daybreak.[a] Footnote: aOr light.
Every word that has been recorded in the Apostolic scriptures has its foundation in the Torah – Mat 5:17-19 – and has come out of the mouth of Yashua, Paul and all the sheliachim - apostles
Rom
10:9 That if you confess (Gk - homologeō - to say the same words that
came out of Moshe’ mouth, must also come out of your mouth) with your mouth the
Master יהושע and believe in your heart
that Elohim has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.
Rom
10:10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and one
confesses with the mouth, and so is saved.
Rom
10:11 Because the Scripture says, “Whoever puts his trust in Him shall
not be put to shame.” Isa_28:16.
Rom
10:12 Because there is no distinction between Yehuḏi and Greek, for the same Master
of all is rich to all those calling upon Him.
Rom
10:13 For “everyone who calls on the Name of יהוה shall be saved.”c Jol_2:32. Footnote: cAct_2:21. (even
the rebellious and the outcasts)
Rom
10:14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And
how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they
hear without one proclaiming?
Rom
10:16 However, not all obeyed the Good News. For Yeshayahu says, “יהוה, who has believed our
report?” Isa_53:1.
Rom
10:17 So then belief comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of
Elohim.
Rom
10:18 But I ask, Did they not hear? Yes indeed, “Their voice went out
to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.” Psa_19:4.
Rom
10:19 But I ask, Did Yisra’ěl not know? First Mosheh says, “I shall
provoke you to jealousy by those who are not a nation, I shall enrage you by an
unwise nation.” Deu_32:21.
Rom
10:20 And Yeshayahu boldly says, “I was found by those not seeking Me,
I was made manifest to those not asking for Me.” Isa_65:1.
Rom
10:21 And to Yisra’ěl He says, “All day long I have stretched out My
hands to a disobedient and back-talking people.” Isa_65:2.
Deu
30:14 “For the Word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart –
to do it.
Deu 30:15 “See, I have set before you today life
and good, and death and evil,
Deu 30:16 in that I am commanding you today to love
יהוה your Elohim, to walk
in His ways, and to guard His commands, and His laws, and His right-rulings.
And you shall live and increase, and יהוה
your Elohim shall bless you in the land which you go to possess.
Deu 30:17 “But if your heart turns away, and you do
not obey, and shall be drawn away, and shall bow down to other mighty ones and
serve them,
Deu 30:18 “I have declared to you today that you
shall certainly perish, you shall not prolong your days in the land which you
are passing over the Yarděn to enter and possess.
Deu 30:19 “I have called the heavens and the earth
as witnesses today against you: I have set before you life and death, the
blessing and the curse. Therefore you shall choose life, so that you live, both
you and your seed,
Deu 30:20 to love יהוה your Elohim, to obey His voice, and to
cling to Him – for He is your life and the length of your days – to dwell in
the land which יהוה
swore to your fathers, to Aḇraham,
to Yitsḥaq, and to Ya‛aqoḇ, to give them.”
Joshua
to Succeed Moses – Parashat ‘’Vayeilech’’
‘’and he entered’’
Deu
31:1 And
Mosheh went and spoke these words to all Yisra’ěl,
Deu
31:2 and he said to them, “I am one hundred and twenty years old today. I
am no longer able to go out and come in. And יהוה has said to me, ‘You do not pass over this
Yarděn.’ Rev 11
Deu 31:3 “יהוה your Elohim Himself is passing over before you. He shall destroy these nations from before you and you possess them. Yehoshua himself is passing over before you, as יהוה has spoken.
Moses
may not have entered then but in the age to come he will. Why didn’t Moshe
enter?
Maybe he had anger issues – Num 20:11- Num 20:12 But יהוה spoke to Mosheh and to Aharon, “Because you did not believe Me, to set Me apart in the eyes of the children of Yisra’ěl, therefore you do not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.” Maybe Moshe didn’t realize how merciful YHVH really was and will be to both Israel and the nations – the gentiles.
1Ti 1:15 Trustworthy is the word and worthy of all acceptance, that Messiah יהושע came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am foremost. 1Ti 1:16 But because of this I received compassion, so that in me first, יהושע Messiah might display all patience, as an example to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.
Rom 5:20 And the Torah came in beside, so that the trespass would increase. But where sin increased, favour increased still more, Rom 5:21 so that as sin did reign in death, even so favour might reign through righteousness to everlasting life through יהושע Messiah our Master.
Rev 20:6 Blessed and set-apart is the one having part in the first resurrection. The second death possesses no authority over these, but they shall be priests of Elohim and of Messiah, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.
Rev
20:11 And I saw a great white throne and Him who was sitting on it, from
whose face the earth and the heaven fled away, and no place was found for
them.
Rev
20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before the throne,
and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of
Life. And the dead were judged from what was written in the books, according to
their works.
Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and She’ol gave up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.
Rev
21:8 “But as for the cowardly, and untrustworthy, and abominable, and
murderers, and those who whore, and drug sorcerers, and idolaters, and all the
false, their part is in the lake which burns with fire and sulphur, which is
the second death.”
Deu
31:1 And
Mosheh went and spoke these words to all Yisra’ěl,
Deu
31:2 and he said to them, “I am one hundred and twenty years old today. I
am no longer able to go out and come in. And יהוה has said to me, ‘You do not pass over this
Yarděn.’
Deu
31:3 “יהוה your Elohim Himself is
passing over before you. He shall destroy these nations from before you and you
possess them. Yehoshua himself is passing over before you, as יהוה has spoken.
Deu
31:4 “And יהוה shall do to them as He did
to Siḥon and to Oḡ, the sovereigns of the Amorites and their land, when He destroyed
them.
Deu
31:5 “And יהוה shall give them over to you,
and you shall do to them according to all the command which I have commanded
you.
Deu
31:6 “Be strong and courageous, do not fear nor be afraid of them. For it
is יהוה your Elohim who is going
with you. He does not fail you nor forsake you.”
Deu
31:7 And Mosheh called Yehoshua and said to him before the eyes of all
Yisra’ěl, “Be strong and courageous, for you are going with this people to the
land which יהוה has sworn to their fathers
to give them, and you are to let them inherit it.
Deu
31:8 “And it is יהוה who is going before you, He
Himself is with you. He does not fail you nor forsake you. Do not fear nor be
discouraged.”
The
Reading of the Law
Deu
31:9 And Mosheh wrote this Torah and gave it to the priests, the sons of
Lěwi, who bore the ark of the covenant of יהוה, and to all the elders of Yisra’ěl.
Deu
31:10 And Mosheh commanded them, saying, “At the end of seven years, at
the appointed time, the year of release, at the Festival of Sukkot,a Footnote:

Deu
31:11 when all Yisra’ěl comes to appear before יהוה your Elohim in the place which He chooses, read this Torah
before all Yisra’ěl in their hearing.
Deu
31:12 “Assemble the people, the men and the women and the little ones,
and your sojourner who is within your gates, so that they hear, and so that
they learn to fear יהוה your Elohim and guard to do
all the Words of this Torah.
Deu
31:13 “And their children, who have not known it, should hear and learn
to fear יהוה your Elohim as long as you
live in the land you are passing over the Yarděn to possess.”
