Bless YHVH the blessed One; Blessed is YHVH, the blessed One for all eternity. Blessed are you, YHVH, our Elohim, King of the Universe, you have selected us from among all the peoples, and have given us your Torah. Blessed are you, YHVH, giver of the Torah. Amein.

Gen 22:1  And it came to be after these events that Elohim tried (Heb ‘’nisa’’first use of word in Torah) Aḇraham, and said to him, “Aḇraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” (The pa al verb form of ‘’nasa’’ means to flee or escape.  The pi el form of the verb ‘’nisa’’ means to be tested and tried).

Apostolic scriptures (Messianic Scriptures or Second Writings) teach us that the testing of our faith is more precious than gold (1Pet 1:7) and the testing of our faith produces endurance (James 1:3)

1Co 10:13  No trial has overtaken you except such as is common to man, and Elohim is trustworthy, who shall not allow you to be tried beyond what you are able, but with the trial shall also make the way of escape, enabling you to bear it. (see also 1 Pet 4:1- weaponizing suffering

Gen 22:2  And He said, “Take your son, now, your only son Yitsḥaq, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriyah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I command you.”

Moriyah meaning:

From (1) the verb ירא (yara'), to fear or revere, and (2) יה (yah), the name of YHVH.

From the verb ראה (ra'a), to see, and (2) יה (yah), the name of the YHVH.

From the verb the verb מרר (marar), to be bitter or strong, and (2) יה (yah), the name of the YHVH.

Gen 22:3  And Aḇraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Yitsḥaq his son. And he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place which Elohim had commanded him.

Gen 22:4  And on the third day Aḇraham lifted his eyes and saw the place from a distance.

Gen 22:5  So Aḇraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey while the boy and I go over there and worship, and come back(Heb ‘’nashuva – plural cohoratative) to you.”

22:5 Notice the commands to his servants and the description of his intent.

1. "stay here," BDB 442, שׁבו Qal imperative plural.

2. "I and the lad will go yonder," BDB 229, נלכהQal cohortative

3. "we will worship," BDB 1005, ונשׁתחוהHishtaphel cohortative

4. "we will return to you," BDB 996, ונשׁובהQal cohortative

"we will worship and return to you" Abraham's faith in YHVH is so certain that Heb. 11:17-19 assumes that Yitschaq will be raised from the dead if necessary, in order to accompany Abraham back to their home.

Gen 22:6  And Aḇraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Yitsḥaq his son. And he took the fire in his hand, and a knife, and the two of them went together.

Gen 22:7  And Yitsḥaq spoke to Aḇraham his father and said, “My father!” And he said, “Here I am, my son.” And he said, “See, the fire and the wood! But where is the lamb for a burnt offering?”

Gen 22:8  And Aḇraham said, “My son, Elohim does provide (heb – yire- ‘’He will see’’) for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” And the two of them went together.

Gen 22:9  And they came to the place which Elohim had commanded him, and Aḇraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order. And he bound(ויעקד va-ya'akod) Yitsḥaq his son and laid him on the altar, upon the wood.

va-ya'akod, Gen. 22:9, a word found nowhere else in the Bible in the active, conjugative form

Gen 22:10  And Aḇraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son,

Gen 22:11  but the Messenger of יהוה called to him from the heavens and said, “Aḇraham, Aḇraham!” And he said, “Here I am.”

Gen 22:12  And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy, nor touch him. For now I know that you fear Elohim, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”

Gen 22:13  And Aḇraham lifted his eyes and looked and saw behind him a ram caught in a bush by its horns, and Aḇraham went and took the ram and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son.

Gen 22:14  And Aḇraham called the name of the place, ‘יהוה Yireh,’ יהוהH3068 יראה׃H7200    as it is said to this day, “On the mountain יהוה provides.” (He will see to it)

Gen 22:15  And the Messenger of יהוה called to Aḇraham a second time from the heavens,

Gen 22:16  and said, “By Myself I have sworn, declares יהוה, because you have done this, and have not withheld your son, your only son,

Gen 22:17  that I shall certainly bless you, and I shall certainly increase your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore, and let your seed possess the gate of their enemies.

Gen 22:18  “And in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”

Rom 8:32  Truly, He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up on behalf of us all – how shall He not, along with Him, freely give us all else? Rom 6:5  For if we have come to be grown together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also of the resurrection, Rom 6:6  knowing this, that our old man was impaled with Him, so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, to serve sin no longer. Rom 6:7  For he who has died has been made right from sin. Rom 6:8  And if we died with Messiah, we believe that we shall also live with Him, Rom 6:9  knowing that Messiah, having been raised from the dead, dies no more – death no longer rules over Him. Rom 6:10  For in that He died, He died to sin once for all; but in that He lives, He lives to Elohim. Rom 6:11  So you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to Elohim in Messiah יהושע our Master.

Gen 22:19  Then Aḇraham returned to his young men, and they rose up and went together to Be’ĕrsheḇa. And Aḇraham dwelt at Be’ĕrsheḇa.

Gen 22:20  And it came to be after these events that it was reported to Aḇraham, saying, “See, Milkah too has borne children to your brother Naḥor:

Gen 22:21  “Uts his first-born, and Buz his brother, and Qemu’ĕl the father of Aram,

Gen 22:22  and Keseḏ, and Ḥazo, and Pildash, and Yiḏlaph, and Bethu’ĕl.”

Gen 22:23  And Bethu’ĕl brought forth Riḇqah. These eight Milkah bore to Naḥor, Aḇraham’s brother.

Gen 22:24  And his concubine, whose name was Re’uwmah, also bore Teḇaḥ, and Gaḥam, and Taḥash, and Maʽaḵah.

Heb 11:17  By belief, Aḇraham, when he was tried, offered up Yitsḥaq, and he who had received the promises offered up his only brought-forth son, Heb 11:18  of whom it was said, “In Yitsḥaq your seed shall be called,” Gen_21:12. Heb 11:19  reckoning that Elohim was able to raise, even from the dead, from which he received him back, as a type.

1Co 1:18  For the word of the stake is indeed foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of Elohim. 1Co 1:21  For since, in the wisdom of Elohim, the world through wisdom did not know Elohim, it pleased Elohim through the foolishness of preaching to save those who believe. 1Co 1:22  And since Yehuḏim ask a sign, and Greeks seek wisdom, 1Co 1:23  yet we proclaim Messiah impaled, to the Yehuḏim a stumbling-block and to the Greeks foolishness, 1Co 1:24  but to those who are called – both Yehuḏim and Greeks – Messiah the power of Elohim and the wisdom of Elohim.

Php 3:10  to know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, Php 3:11  if somehow I might attain to the resurrection from the dead.

According to Tim Hegg – for Paul the death of Messiah did not present an opportunity for salvation, but actually accomplished the payment of sin.

1Co 2:2  For I resolved not to know any matter among you except יהושע Messiah and Him impaled.

Col 1:24  who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in Messiah’s afflictions, for the sake of His Body, which is the assembly, Col 1:25  of which I became a servant according to the administration of Elohim which was given to me for you, to fill the word of Elohim, Col 1:26  the secret which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His set-apart ones, Col 1:27  to whom Elohim desired to make known what are the riches of the esteem of this secret among the nations: which is Messiah in you, the expectancy of esteem, Col 1:28  whom we announce, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, in order to present every man perfect in Messiah יהושעCol 1:29  for which I also labour, striving according to the working of Him who works in me in power.

Php 2:5  For, let this mind be in you which was also in Messiah יהושעPhp 2:6  who, being in the form of Elohim, did not regard equality with Elohim a matter to be grasped, Php 2:7  but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, and came to be in the likeness of men. Php 2:8  And having been found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, death even of a stake. Php 2:9  Elohim, therefore, has highly exalted Him and given Him the Name which is above every name, Php 2:10  that at the Name of יהושע every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, Php 2:11  and every tongue should confess Isa_45:23 that יהושע Messiah is Master, to the esteem of Elohim the Father.

Eph 3:4  In reading this, then, you are able to understand my insight into the secret of Messiah, Eph 3:5  which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His set-apart emissaries and prophets: Eph 3:6  The nations to be co-heirs, united in the same body, and partakers together[a] in the promise in Messiah through the Good News, Footnote: aSee Rom_11:17-24, Isa_14:1Eph 3:7  of which I became a servant according to the gift of the favour of Elohim given to me, according to the working of His power. Eph 3:8  To me, the very least of all the set-apart ones, this favour was given, to bring the Good News of the unsearchable riches of Messiah among the nations, Eph 3:9  and to make all see how this secret is administered, which for ages past has been hidden in Elohim who created all through יהושע Messiah,[b] Footnote: bSee Joh_1:3Eph 3:10  so that now, through the assembly, the many-sided wisdom of Elohim might be known to the principalities and authorities in the heavenlies, Eph 3:11  according to the everlasting purpose which He made in Messiah יהושע our Master, Eph 3:12  in whom we have boldness and access, with reliance, through belief in Him.

Col 2:15  Having stripped the principalities and the authorities, He made a public display of them, having prevailed over them in it.

1Co 2:7  But we speak the wisdom of Elohim, which was hidden in a secret, and which Elohim ordained before the ages for our esteem, 1Co 2:8  which no one of the rulers of this age knew, for if they had known, they would not have impaled the Master of esteem.

Joh 17:3  “And this is everlasting life, that they should know You, the only true Elohim, and יהושע Messiah whom You have sent

2Jn 1:7  Because many who are leading astray went out into the world who do not confess יהושע Messiah as coming in the flesh. This one is he who is leading astray and the anti-messiah.

Rev 13:4  And they worshipped the dragon who gave authority to the beast. And they worshipped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to fight with him?” Rev 13:5  And he was given a mouth speaking great matters and blasphemies, and he was given authority to do so forty-two months. Rev 13:6  And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against Elohim, to blaspheme His Name, and His Tent, and those dwelling in the heaven. Rev 13:7  And it was given to him to fight with the set-apart ones and to overcome them. And authority was given to him over every tribe and tongue and nation. Rev 13:8  And all those dwelling on the earth, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the slain Lamb, from the foundation of the world shall worship him. Rev 13:9  If anyone has an ear, let him hear.

Dan 7:21  “I was looking, and this horn was fighting against the set-apart ones, and was prevailing against them, Dan 7:22  until the Ancient of Days came, and right-ruling was given to the set-apart ones of the Most High, and the time came and the set-apart ones took possession of the reign. Dan 7:25  and it speaks words against the Most High, and it wears out the set-apart ones of the Most High, and it intends to change appointed times[b] and law, and they are given into its hand for a time and times and half a time. Footnote: bThis is another word for festivals

2Ki 19:31  For out of Yerushalayim comes forth a remnant, and those who escape from Mount Tsiyon – the ardour of יהוה does this.’

Rev 3:10  “Because you have guarded My Word of endurance, I also shall guard you from the hour of trial(הנסיון) which shall come upon all the world, to try(לנסות) those who dwell on the earth.

Mat 6:13  ואל־תביאנו לידי נסיון כי אם־תחלצנו מן־הרע
