Bless YHVH
the blessed One; Blessed is YHVH, the blessed One for all eternity. Blessed are
you, YHVH, our Elohim, King of the Universe, you have selected us from among
all the peoples, and have given us your Torah. Amein.
Rom 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible qualities have been clearly seen, ותראה being understood from what has been made, both His everlasting power and Mightiness, for them to be without excuse, Rom 1:21 because, although they knew Elohim, they did not esteem Him as Elohim, nor gave thanks, but became vain in their reasonings, and their undiscerning heart was darkened.
Rejecting or disobeying the Messiah of Elohim the Elohim of Avraham Yitzchak and Yakov will have serious consequences for mankind and for planet earth.
Gen 35:9 And Elohim appeared to Yaʽaqoḇ again, when he came from Paddan Aram, and blessed him.
Gen 35:10 And Elohim said to him, “Your name is Yaʽaqoḇ, your name is no longer called Yaʽaqoḇ, but Yisra’ĕl is your name.” So He called his name Yisra’ĕl.
Gen 35:11 And Elohim said to him, “I am Ěl Shaddai. Bear fruit and increase, a nation and a company וקהל (assembly)of nations shall be from you, and sovereigns come from your body.
Gen 35:12 “And the land which I gave Aḇraham and Yitsḥaq I give to you. And to your seed after you I give this land.”
Gen
35:13 And Elohim went up from him in the
place (ba makom) where He had spoken with him.
Gen 35:14 And Yaʽaqoḇ set up a standing column in the
place (ba makom) where He had spoken with him, a monument of stone. And he
poured a drink offering on it, and he poured oil on it.
Gen 35:15 And Yaʽaqoḇ called the name of the place(ha makom) where Elohim spoke with him, Bĕyth Ěl. (Possible reference to future temples)
This is the classic
journey of a Hebrew – You cross over (Heb – ‘’avar’’) the ‘’Euprates’’(fruitful)
to the wilderness of Kana-an. In the process you are given a new name - Rev 2:17 “He who has an ear,
let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes I
shall give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I shall give him a white stone,
and on the stone a renewed Name written which no one knows except him who
receives it.” (Pergamum)
YHVH decides when and how He calls, appears and reveals Himself to man.
Joh 6:44 “No one is able to come to Me unless the
Father who sent Me draws him. And I shall raise him up in the last day.
Joh 5:19 Therefore יהושע
responded and said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son is able to do
none at all by Himself, but only that which He sees the Father doing, because
whatever He does, the Son also likewise does.
Joh 5:30 “Of Myself I am unable to do any matter.
As I hear, I judge, and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own
desire, but the desire of the Father who sent Me.
Joh 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who stays in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit. Because without Me you are able to do naught!
Man has proved again and again that without YHVH’s intervention we are lost and wonder around aimlessly in this world. Dan 11:35 “And some of those who have insight shall stumble, to refine them, and to cleanse them, and to make them white, until the time of the end, for it is still for an appointed time.
Here follows a quote
from the second president of USA - John
Adams – 1825 to 1829.
“Remember, democracy
never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was
a democracy yet that did not commit suicide. It is in vain to say that
democracy is less vain, less proud, less selfish, less ambitious, or less
avaricious(greedy) than aristocracy or monarchy. It is not true, in fact, and
nowhere appears in history. Those passions are the same in all men, under all
forms of simple government, and when unchecked, produce the same effects of fraud,
violence, and cruelty.” End quote.
Only a very small
remnant will return to Yisrael in the last days - Isa 1:9 Unless יהוה of hosts had left to us a small remnant,
we would have become like Seḏom, we would have been made like Amorah.
In the last days a
very small remnant of Yakov’s sheep will usher in a Theocracy (rule of YHVH)
and a constitution for governance based entirely on the Torah of Moshe rabbeinu
(Moshe our rabbi) as followed and taught by Yahshua the Messiah – see Matt
5:17-19. Is 2:2-4.
Gen 35:16 Then they set out from Bĕyth Ěl. And it came to be, when there was but a little distance to go to Ephrath, that Raḥĕl began to give birth, and had great difficulty giving birth.
Etymology – Ephratah - From the verb פרה (para), to be fruitful. From the verb אפר ('pr), to be depleted. ‘’An ash heap that has become fruitful’’.
Gen 35:17 And it came to be, as she was having great difficulty giving birth, that the midwife said to her, “Do not fear, for it is another son for you.”
Gen 35:18 And it came to be, as her life was going out – for she died – that she called his name Ben-Oni. But his father called him Binyamin.
Note: Rachel, like
Leah gave names to all the sons of Yisrael. Yet in the birth of this last son –
Yakov steps in and changes the name. In the Hebrew mind, the name of a child
often reflects the destiny of the child.
Gen 35:19 So Raḥĕl died and was buried on the way to Ephrath, that is Bĕyth Leḥem.
Gen 35:20 And Yaʽaqoḇ set a standing column on her grave, which is the monument of Raḥĕl’s grave to this day.
Gen 35:21 And Yisra’ĕl set out and pitched his tent beyond the tower of Ěḏer. (Tower of the flock)
The first time Migdal
Eder is mentioned in the Scripture is in the account of Rachel, who died after
giving birth to Benyamin, the youngest son of Yakov. “Then Yisrael journeyed
and pitched his tent beyond the tower of Eder” Genesis 35:21.
‘’This area on the outskirts of Bethlehem is also mentioned in the Talmudic
writings. According to the Talmud, all cattle (sheep and goats) found in
the area surrounding Jerusalem “as far as Migdal Eder” were deemed to be Set Apart
and consecrated and could only be used for offerings in the Temple, in
particular for the peace and Passover sacrifices. This means the shepherds in
the fields of Bethlehem who first heard the Good News from the angels were not
ordinary shepherds but served the sacrificial system of the Temple. And these men were now confronted with the reality
of the eternal light to which their ministry had been pointing all these
centuries.’’
The Hebrew prophet Micah also refers to Migdal Eder. “And you, O tower of the
flock, (Heb – migdol Eder) the stronghold of the daughter of Zion, to you shall
it come, even the former dominion shall come, the kingdom of (to)the daughter
of Jerusalem.” (Micah 4:8)
‘’Based on that prophecy, prominent Jewish writers concluded in the Midrash
that from all of the places in Israel, it would be the Migdal Eder where the arrival
of the Messiah would be declared first.’’
‘’That means when the angels appeared that night to the shepherds in the fields
outside Bethlehem, it was not just a declaration of the Good News to simple
shepherds. It was a powerful prophetic sign to all of Israel. The news of that
night must have spread like wildfire through the surrounding villages.’’
Mic 5:2 “But you, Běyth Leḥem Ephrathah, you who are little among the clans of Yehuḏah, out of you shall come forth to Me the One to become Ruler in Yisra’ěl. And His comings forth are of old, from everlasting.” Mic 5:3 Therefore He shall give them up, until the time that she who is in labour has given birth, and the remnant of His brothers return to the children of Yisra’ěl. Mic 5:4 And He shall stand and shepherd[b] in the strength of יהוה, in the excellency of the Name of יהוה His Elohim. And they shall dwell, for at that time He shall be great, to the ends of the earth. Footnote: bEze_34:13-14.
It is the remnant of the true Yisrael who gives birth to Messianic life – Rev 12
Gen 35:22
And it came to be, when Yisra’ĕl dwelt in that land, that Re’uḇĕn went
and lay with Bilhah his father’s concubine. And Yisra’ĕl heard about it.
Book of Jubilees chapter 33 - 2 And Reuben saw Bilhah, Rachel's maid, the concubine of his father, bathing in water in a secret place, and he loved her.3 And he hid himself at night, and he entered the house of Bilhah [at night], and he found her sleeping alone on a bed in her house.4 And he lay with her, and she awoke and saw, and behold Reuben was lying with her in the bed, and she uncovered the border of her covering and seized him, and cried out, and discovered that it was Reuben.5 And she was ashamed because of him, and released her hand from him, and he fled.6 And she lamented because of this thing exceedingly, and did not tell it to any one.7 And when Yacob returned and sought her, she said to him: 'I am not clean for you, for I have been defiled as regards you; for Reuben has defiled me, and has lain with me in the night, and I was asleep, and did not discover until he uncovered my skirt and slept with me.'8 And Yacob was exceedingly wroth with Reuben because he had lain with Bilhah, because he had uncovered his father's skirt.9 And Yacob did not approach her again because Reuben had defiled her. And as for any man who uncovers his father's skirt his deed is wicked exceedingly, for he is abominable before YHVHH. - See also Book of Jubilees chapters 36-38 –
Now the sons of
Yaʽaqoḇ were twelve:
Gen 35:23 the sons of Lĕ’ah were Re’uḇĕn, Yaʽaqoḇ’s first-born, and Shimʽon, and Lĕwi, and Yehuḏah, and Yissasḵar, and Zeḇulun; Gen 35:24 the sons of Raḥĕl were Yosĕph and Binyamin; Gen 35:25 the sons of Bilhah, Raḥĕl’s female servant, were Dan and Naphtali; Gen 35:26 and the sons of Zilpah, Lĕ’ah’s female servant, were Gaḏ and Ashĕr. Gen 35:27 And
Yaʽaqoḇ came to his father Yitsḥaq at Mamrĕ, or Qiryath Arba, that is

According to the
Stones Chumash commentary page 193 vs 2 there appear to be many allusions to
incest in Esav descendants. -However, the Torah does not omit to mention the
incestuous relationship between Reuben and Billah – vs 35:22. Why would these
two genealogy’s of Yakov and Esav be placed side by side in the Torah?
The impact of the
conflict and treachery between the descendants of Yakov and the descendants of
Esav would continue throughout history with a conclusion at the end of this age.
The nature of this conflict would determine the destiny of nations and have a
profound influence on every single human being who has ever lived on earth.
It appears YHVH in His
righteousness calls both the descendants of Yakov and Esav to repentance and to
live in His righteousness.
Rom 1:16

Rom
10:12 Because there is no distinction between Yehuḏi and Greek, for the
same Master of all is rich to all those calling upon Him.
