 Summary:

‘’Verses 1-12 We have here an account of the first war ever that we read of in scripture.

Verses 13-16 We have here an account of the only military action we ever find Abram engaged in, and this he was prompted to, not by his avarice or ambition, but purely by a principle of charity; it was not to enrich himself, but to help his friend.

The Battle of the Vale of Siddim, also often called the War of Nine Kings or the Slaughter of Chedorlaomer,Persian king) is an event in the Hebrew Bible book of Genesis 14:1–17 that occurs in the days of Abram and Lot. The Vale of Siddim was the battleground for the cities of the Jordan River plain revolting against Mesopotamian rule

The Book of Genesis explains that during the days of Lot, the vale of Siddim was a river valley where the Battle of Siddim occurred between four Mesopotamian armies and five cities of the Jordan plain. According to the biblical account, before the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, the Elamite King Chedorlaomer had subdued the tribes and cities surrounding the Jordan River plain. After 13 years, four kings of the cities of the Jordan plain revolted against Chedorlaomer's rule. In response, Chedorlaomer and three other kings started a campaign against King Bera of Sodom and four other allied kings.

The Northern forces overwhelmed the Southern kings of the Jordan plain, driving some of them into the asphalt or tar pits that littered the valley. Those who escaped fled to the mountains, including the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah. These two cities were then spoiled of their goods and provisions and some of their citizens were captured. Among the captives was Abram's nephew, Lot.

When word reached Abram while he was staying in Elonei Mamrei with Aner and Eshcol, he immediately mounted a rescue operation, arming 318 of his trained servants, who went in pursuit of the enemy armies that were returning to their homelands. They caught up with them in the city of Dan, flanking the enemy on multiple sides during a night raid. The attack ran its course as far as Hobah, north of Damascus, where he defeated Chedorlaomer and his forces. Abram recovered all the goods and the captives (including Lot).

After the battle, Melchizedek, king of Salem, brought out bread and wine and blessed Abram, who gave him a tenth of the plunder as tithes. Then Bera, king of Sodom, came to Abram and thanked him, requesting that he keep the plunder but return his people. Abram declined, saying, "I swore I would never take anything from you, so you can never say 'I have made Abram rich.'" What Abram accepted from Bera instead was food for his 318 men and his Amorite neighbours. Wikipedia

Gen 14:1  And it came to be in the days of Amraphel  (One That Darkens Counsel, or The Commandment Which Went Forth Possibly Nimrod) sovereign of Shinʽar, (Chaldea/Babylon)  Aryoḵ sovereign of Ellasar, Keḏorlaʽomer -sovereign of Ěylam, (Persia) and Tiḏʽal sovereign of Goyim,

"A confederation of Kings, from the Persian Gulf who took the trouble to attack the 5 little Cities of the Plain. An empire as large as Assyria or Babylon or Persia, not ruled by one country or one King but a confederation, defeated by Abraham and 318 of his household’’.

Yasher 16:2 - 2. And these four kings went up with all their camps, about eight hundred thousand men, and they went as they were, and smote every man they found in their road

The gematria of Abram’s chief servant, Eliezer אליעזר is 318, the number of initiates that Abraham took with him to battle. (Eliezer means ‘’Elohim will help, similar to ‘’parakletos’’ in Greek).

Joh 14:15  “If you love Me, you shall guard My commands.[a] Footnote: aSee also Joh_14:21 and Joh_14:23, Exo_20:6, 1Jn_5:2-3 and 2Jn_1:6

But you know Him, for He stays with you and shall be in you. Joh 14:18  “I shall not leave you orphans – I am coming to you.

Could this be connected to the prophecy of Ezekiel - Eze 38:15  “And you shall come from your place out of the far north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great assembly and a mighty army.

Eze 38:16  “And you shall come up against My people Yisra’ěl like a cloud, to cover the land – in the latter days it shall be. And I shall bring you against My land, in order that the nations know Me, when I am set apart in you, O Goḡ, before their eyes.”

Isa 41:2  “Who raised up the righteous one from the east, called him to His foot, gave the nations before him, and made sovereigns submit to him? He gave them as the dust to his sword, as driven stubble to his bow. Isa 41:3  “He pursued them, passed over in safety, by a path that he had not gone with his feet. Isa 41:4  “Who has performed and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? ‘I, יהוה, am the first, and with the last I am He.’ ”Isa 41:5  Coastlands see it and fear, the ends of the earth are afraid – they draw near and come. Isa 41:10  Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not look around, for I am your Elohim. I shall fortify you, I shall also help you, I shall also uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.’ Isa 41:11  “See, all those who raged against you are ashamed and blush, they are as non-existent. And the men who strive with you perish. Isa 41:12  “You seek them but do not find them, those who struggle with you. Those who fight you are as non-existent, as naught. Isa 41:13  “For I, יהוה your Elohim, am strengthening your right hand, saying to you, ‘Do not fear, I shall help you.’ Isa 41:14  “Do not fear, you worm Ya‛aqoḇ, you men of Yisra’ěl! I shall help you,” declares יהוה and your Redeemer, the Set-apart One of Yisra’ěl. sa 41:6  Everyone helps his neighbour, and says to his brother, “Be strong!”

As it was with this first war so shall it be with Yiraels last war.

Hab 1:5  “Look among the nations and see, and be amazed, be amazed! For a work is being wrought in your days which you would not believe if it were told. Hab 1:6  “See, I am raising up the Kasdim,(Babylonian tribes) a bitter and hasty nation, who is going through the breadth of the earth, to possess dwelling places that are not theirs. Hab 1:7  “They are frightening and fearsome, their right-ruling and their exaltation proceed from themselves. Hab 1:8  “Their horses shall be swifter than leopards, and more fierce than evening wolves. And their horsemen shall charge ahead, and their horsemen come from afar. They fly as the eagle, rushing to eat. Hab 1:9  “All of them come for violence, the direction of their faces is like the east wind, and they gather captives like sand. Hab 1:10  “And they scoff at sovereigns, and princes are a laughing matter to them. They laugh at every stronghold, for they pile up earth and seize it.

Isa 46:9  “Remember the former events of old, for I am Ěl, and there is no one else – Elohim, and there is no one like Me, Isa 46:10  declaring the end from the beginning, and from of old that which has not yet been done, saying, ‘My counsel does stand, and all My delight I do,’ Isa 46:11  calling a bird of prey from the east, the man who executes My counsel, from a distant land. Indeed I have spoken it, I also bring it to pass. I have planned it, I also do it.

Gen 14:2  that they fought against Bera (son of evil)sovereign of Seḏom, Birsha(with iniquity) sovereign of Amorah, Shinaḇ(father of changing -  sovereign of Aḏmah, Shem’ĕḇer sovereign of Tseḇoyim, and the sovereign of Bela, that is Tsoʽar.

Gen 14:3  All these joined together in the Valley of Siddim, that is the Salt Sea.

Gen 14:4  Twelve years they served Keḏorlaʽomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.

Gen 14:5  And in the fourteenth year Keḏorlaʽomer and the sovereigns that were with him came and smote the Repha’im in Ashteroth Qarnayim, and the Zuzim in Ḥam, and the Ěmites in Shawĕh Qiryathayim,

Gen 14:6  and the Ḥorites in their mountain of Sĕʽir, as far as Ěl Paran, which is by the wilderness.

Gen 14:7  And they turned back and came to Ěn Mishpat, that is Qaḏĕsh, and smote all the country of the Amalĕqites, and also the Amorites who dwelt in Ḥatsetson Tamar.

Gen 14:8  And the sovereign of Seḏom, and the sovereign of Amorah, and the sovereign of Aḏmah, and the sovereign of Tseḇoyim, and the sovereign of Bela, that is Tsoʽar, went out and joined together in battle in the Valley of Siddim,

Gen 14:9  against Keḏorlaʽomer sovereign of Ěylam, and Tiḏʽal sovereign of Goyim, and Amraphel sovereign of Shinʽar, and Aryoḵ sovereign of Ellasar – four sovereigns against five.

Gen 14:10  And the Valley of Siddim had many tar pits(or oil). And the sovereigns of Seḏom and Amorah fled and fell there, and the remainder fled to the mountains.

Gen 14:11  And they took all the goods of Seḏom and Amorah, and all their food, and went away.

Gen 14:12  And they took Lot, Aḇram’s brother’s son who dwelt in Seḏom, and his goods, and left.

"Lot moved from the plains into the city. See Ber 13:12- Please note that if you live near the immorality of religion you will eventually be captured by it and become like it if you are not rescued.’’

Dan 7:24  And the ten horns are ten sovereigns from this reign. They shall rise, and another shall rise after them, and it is different from the first ones, and it humbles three sovereigns, Dan 7:25  and it speaks words against the Most High, and it wears out the set-apart ones of the Most High, and it intends to change appointed times[b] and law, and they are given into its hand for a time and times and half a time. Footnote: bThis is another word for festivals.

Rev 17:12  “And the ten horns which you saw are ten sovereigns who have not yet received a reign, but receive authority as sovereigns with the beast for one hour. Rev 17:13  “They have one mind, and they shall give their power and authority to the beast.

Both Daniel and Revelation foresee the rise of ten kings just prior to the return of Yahshua. Since these kings are involved with the Anti-messiah in the establishment of a one-world government, and since today’s world has rapidly evolved into a global system of geo-political alliances on a regional and continental scale, then there is some speculation that perhaps these emerging international zones will become the 10 kings of prophecy.

Gen 14:13  And one who had escaped came and informed Aḇram the Heḇrew, for he dwelt by the terebinth trees of Mamrĕ the Amorite, brother of Eshkol and brother of Anĕr, and they had a covenant with Aḇram.

Mamre – strength of fatness also bitterness – Gen 18:1 Promise of Yitzchak was given at Mamre. Avraham’s wife was buried in a cave – Machpelah near Mamre – Gen 23:16-19. All the patriachs and their wives (except Rachel) buried there.

Eschol – cluster as in cluster of grapes – see the story of the 10 spies carrying a bunch of grapes between two poles that touched the ground – Num 13:23

Gen 14:14  And when Aḇram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his three hundred and eighteen trained servants who were born in his own house, and went in pursuit as far as Dan.

Gen 14:15  And he and his servants divided against them by night, and smote them and pursued them as far as Ḥoḇah, which is on the left of Damascus.

Gen 14:16  So he brought back all the goods, and also brought back his brother Lot and his goods, as well as the women and the people.

Gen 14:17  And after his return from the defeat of Keḏorlaʽomer and the sovereigns who were with him, the sovereign of Seḏom came out to meet him at the Valley of Shawĕh, that is, the Sovereign’s Valley.

Gen 14:18  And Malkitseḏeq sovereign of Shalĕm brought out bread and wine. Now he was the priest of the Most High Ěl.

"There is no town as Biblical as Jerusalem, but it was neither built nor named by the Israelites. Remnants of a Canaanite town called Salem date back to the early bronze age, and the first Biblical mention of this place is in Genesis 14:18, where Abraham and Melchizedek meet

Perhaps the name Jerusalem was never changed, but only Hebraized, because it seems to mean Rain Of Peace.

Jerusalem was to be the radiating heart of a world of completeness and wholeness. It seems that history supplied her with a most suiting name – Abiram publications.’’

Gen 14:19  And he blessed him and said, “Blessed be Aḇram of the Most High Ěl, Possessor of the heavens and earth.

Gen 14:20  “And blessed be the Most High Ěl who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he gave him a tenth of all.

Yasher 16: 11. And Adonizedek king of Jerusalem, the same was Shem, went out with his men to meet Abram and his people, with bread and wine, and they remained together in the valley of Melech.

The significance about Melchizedek (Shem)was not only the place of His rule and ministry in Yerushalayim; but that he operated in two offices as both priest and king. He has been recognized as the father of the Semetic race who would carry the seed of Messiah.

Gen 14:21  And the sovereign of Seḏom said to Aḇram, “Give me the people, and take the goods for yourself.”

Gen 14:22  But Aḇram said to the sovereign of Seḏom, “I have lifted my hand to יהוה, the Most High Ěl, the Possessor of the heavens and earth,

Gen 14:23  not to take a thread or a sandal strap or whatever is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Aḇram rich,’

Gen 14:24  except only what the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men who went with me: Anĕr, Eshkol, and Mamrĕ. Let them take their portion.”

Heb 7:1  For this Malkitseḏeq, sovereign of Shalĕm, priest of the Most High Elohim, who met Aḇraham returning from the slaughter of the sovereigns and blessed him,

Heb 7:2  to whom also Aḇraham gave a tenth part of all, his name being translated, indeed, first, ‘sovereign of righteousness,’ and then also sovereign of Shalĕm, that is, ‘sovereign of peace,’Heb 7:3  without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but having been made like the Son of Elohim, remains a priest for all time. Heb 7:4  Now see how great this one was, to whom even the ancestor Aḇraham gave a tenth of the choicest booty. Heb 7:5  And truly, those who are of the sons of Lĕwi, who receive the priesthood, have a command to receive tithes from the people according to the Torah, that is, from their brothers, though they have come from the loins of Aḇraham, Heb 7:6  however, the one whose genealogy is not derived from them received tithes from Aḇraham, and blessed the one who held the promises. Heb 7:7  And it is beyond all dispute that the lesser is blessed by the better. Heb 7:8  And here it is men who die that receive tithes, but there it is someone of whom it is witnessed that he lives. Heb 7:9  And one might say that through Aḇraham even Lĕwi, who received tithes, gave tithes, Heb 7:10  for he was still in the loins of his father when Malkitseḏeq met him. Heb 7:11  Truly, then, if perfection were through the Lĕwitical priesthood – for under it the people were given the Torah – why was there still need for another priest to arise according to the order of Malkitseḏeq, and not be called according to the order of Aharon? Heb 7:12  For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law1 also. Footnote: 1Heb. 7:12. See “Law” in Explanatory notes. Heb 7:13  For He of whom this is said belongs to another tribe, from which no one had attended at the altar.1 Footnote: 1See “Altar” in Explanatory notes. Heb 7:14  For it is perfectly clear that our Master arose from Yehuḏah, a tribe about which Mosheh never spoke of concerning priesthood, Heb 7:15  and this is clearer still, if another priest arises in the likeness of Malkitseḏeq, Heb 7:16  who has become, not according to the Torah of fleshly command, but according to the power of an endless life, Heb 7:17  for He does witness, “You are a priest forever according to the order of Malkitseḏeq.” Heb 7:18  For there is indeed a setting aside of the former command because of its weakness and unprofitableness, Heb 7:19  for the Torah perfected naught, but the bringing in of a better expectation, through which we draw near to Elohim. Heb 7:20  And it was not without an oath! Heb 7:21  For they indeed became priests without an oath, but He became Priest with an oath by Him who said to Him, “יהוה has sworn and shall not regret, ‘You are a priest forever according to the order of Malkitseḏeq.’ ” Heb 7:22  By as much as this יהושע has become a guarantor of a better covenant. Heb 7:23  And indeed, those that became priests were many, because they were prevented by death from continuing, Heb 7:24  but He, because He remains forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. Heb 7:25  Therefore He is also able to save completely those who draw near to Elohim through Him, ever living to make intercession for them. Heb 7:26  For it was fitting that we should have such a High Priest – kind, innocent, undefiled, having been separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens, Heb 7:27  who does not need, as those high priests, to offer up slaughter offerings day by day, first for His own sins and then for those of the people, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. Heb 7:28  For the Torah appoints as high priests men who have weakness, but the word of the oath which came after the Torah, appoints the Son having been perfected forever.

Midrash - on what difference is between these two priesthoods.

One priesthood requires animal sacrifice the other willing and obedient sacrifice of self.

Psa 110:1  יהוה said to my Master, “Sit at My right hand, Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”

Psa 110:2  יהוה sends Your mighty sceptre out of Tsiyon. Rule in the midst of Your enemies! Psa 110:3  Your people volunteer in the day of Your might, In the splendours of set-apartness! From the womb, from the morning, You have the dew of Your youth! Psa 110:4  יהוה has sworn and does not relent, “You are a priest forever According to the order of Malkitseḏeq.” Psa 110:5  יהוה at Your right hand Shall smite sovereigns in the day of His wrath. Psa 110:6  He judges among the nations, He shall fill the nations with dead bodies, He shall crush the Head over the mighty earth!

‘’The pre-existence of Christ is a central tenet of mainstream Christianity. It explores the nature of Christ's pre-existence as the Divine fundamental reality that supports all truth regarding the  Logos or Word, described in John 1:1–18, ‘’Today there are many believers who question the truth of this doctrine.

‘’Satan himself was behind this development of this error. Belief in a pre-existing “God the Son” diminishes the full force of the gospel message by shifting focus from the Saviour’s triumphant resurrection to his assumed pre-existence.

The resurrection of Yahushua is the central theme of the gospel. It is the greatest confirmation that he was the true Messiah. The literal resurrection of Yahushua is the historical truth on which the early messianic believers was founded because it is the proof that he lived a sinless life! And, having lived a sinless life, having overcome where the first Adam fell, YHVH is able to impute His righteousness on all that believe and accept by faith his sacrifice in their behalf.

The resurrection of Yahshua is our assurance that his sacrificial death was accepted in our place. For, without a sinless life, he could not have been resurrected or redeemed’’
