English translation: Blessed art Thou, YHVH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has made us set apart through His commandments and commanded us to actively study Torah. Please YHVH, our Elohim, sweeten the words of Your Torah in our mouths and in the mouths of all Your people Israel. May we and our offspring, and the offspring of Your people, the House of Israel, may we all, together, know Your Name and study Your Torah for the sake of fulfilling Your desire. Blessed are You, YHVH, Who teaches Torah to His people Israel. Blessed are You, YHVH our Elohim, King of the universe, Who chose us from all the nations and gave us the Torah. Blessed are You, YHVH, Giver of the Torah.

We will approach this week’s Torah study from a slightly different angle. We will see from an investigation of the Hebrew language (lashon ha kodesh) how YHVH reveals His purpose for man and creation and how man was always meant to be one with his Creator.

It has been said that the Hebrew language is the DNA of creation.  We will see that the Hebrew language spoken by YHVH that reveals the DNA of man’s redemption and salvation.
Definition of DNA – it is a noun - deoxyribonucleic acid, a self-replicating material which is present in nearly all living organisms as the main constituent of chromosomes. It is the carrier of genetic information.

The fundamental and distinctive characteristics or qualities of someone or something, especially when regarded as unchangeable.

We see from the opening line of the Torah that YHVH creates all things by His Word – YHVH combines various Hebrew letters and brings about all things by His Word.
We see this same truth repeated in the Good News according to Yochanan.

Joh 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim. (note capital “W’s” were not used in the original)
Joh 1:2  He(mistranslated – not “he” but ‘this”) was in the beginning with Elohim.
Joh 1:3  All came to be through Him, (“him” not in the original Greek ms) and without Him not even one came to be that came to be.
Joh 1:4  In Him(Gk “auto” means the same) was life, and the life was the light of men.
Joh 1:5  And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

Sadly this translation contains error and is misleading. A more correct translation follows:

“1 In [a] beginning was the Logos [word], and the Logos pertained to Mighty One [Yahweh], and Mighty One was the Logos. (It can also be translated: and mighty was the Logos if you look at the context of the original Greek manuscript.) 2 This same was in [a] beginning, [and] pertained to Mighty One. 3 All things through it [the word] came into being and apart from it came into being not even one thing, which has come into being. 4 In it was life, and the life was the light of men; 5 and the light in the darkness shines, and the darkness does not overcome it.

14 And so, the Logos [word] came into flesh, [a physical body] and tented [tabernacled] among us, and we gazed upon his esteem, (esteem as an only brought-forth from a father), full of charisma and truth”

Note: In the above passage, words in square brackets [like this] are added for clarification, but are not in the Greek text. The words "Mighty One" has been substituted for the Greek word "Theos" which has the meaning of "Mighty One" in the original Greek language. The word G-d, is of pagan origin, and has no place in Scripture as a reference to the "Mighty One" YHWH (Yahveh).

The opening words of the Torah – Ber 1:1 - א  בְּרֵאשִׁית, בָּרָא אֱלֹהִים, אֵת הַשָּׁמַיִם, וְאֵת הָאָרֶץ

If we know the meaning of the words we can discover the reality of who YHVH is. The sages tell us that the first appearance of a word or letter lays a foundation for the significance and future meaning of the letters and words. (The law of first appearances)

We see the very first letter In the Torah is an enlarged “bet.” The meaning of this letter is “house” we can deduce that the very first purpose YHVH has is to build a house where He can come and dwell with His creation.

The rabbis say the chemical language is the most closest to the Hebrew language, because the chemical language like Hebrew state the very reality of the substance they are describing  eg  NaCl or H2O – salt and water and many others.

If we know the meaning of the aleph bet we can have a glimpse into the reality of why things were created.
Analyse the word “Adam” -  Aleph daleth hey.
When YHVH created Adam He took these three letters to show the reality of what man really is.
Aleph is connected to YHVH -  it has a gematria of one but the letter aleph is also composed of two yuds and one vav which has a gematria of 26 the same gematria of YHVH.
Gematria of Aleph – aleph lamed fey sophiet is 111 (1+30+80) One One One!!!!

Without the Oneness of YHVH in our beings we will not be connected to our Creator as we were meant to be.

Then we have the next two letters of Adam which in Hebrew mean “blood” – daleth mem-sophiet. This is the physical part of our existence.

It’s blood that circulates through our bodies bringing healing and cleansing. It’s about the offering of blood in this Torah portion that brings about our reconciliation with YHVH when we have sinned and fallen short of His Esteem.

The human body really is amazing. Check out these wonderful facts:

1. Approximately 80-90% of what we perceive as "taste" actually is due to our sense of smell.
2. Your heart beats about 35 million times in a year. During an average lifetime, the human heart will beat more than 2.5 billion times.
3. Your body has about 5.6 liters (6 quarts) of blood. These 5.6 liters of blood circulates through the body three times every minute. In one day, the blood travels a total of 19,000 km (12,000 miles)- that's four times the distance across the U.S. from coast to coast.
4. The heart pumps about 1 million barrels of blood during an average lifetime - that's enough to fill more than 3 super tankers.
5. If all arteries, veins, and capillaries of the human circulatory system were laid end to end, the total length would be 60,000 miles, or 100,000 km. That's nearly two and a half times around the Earth!
6. Even though its thickness averages just 2mm, your skin gets an eighth of all your blood supply.
7. The skull looks as though it is a single bone. In fact, it is made up of 22 separate bones, cemented together along rigid joints called sutures.
8. If a human adult's digestive tract were stretched out, it would be 6 to 9 m (20 to 30 ft) long.
9. Red blood cells may live for about four months circulating throughout the body, feeding the 60 trillion other body cells. Red blood cells make approximately 250,000 round trips of the body before returning to the bone marrow, where they were born, to die.

The challenge of life is for the physical and the spiritual parts of our lives to be in harmony with one another. When this is not the case we become sick and do not function as we were meant to.

Where do we get our blood type from?  - From our mother and our father. In Hebrew mother is “ Em” (spelled aleph mem-sophiet) and father is “av” (spelled aleph bet).
The combined gematria of “dam” or blood is 44 and the combined gematria of Em and Av is also 44.

KJV -1Co 15:45  And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. (Translation should more accurately state that the last Adam came into or by the Spirit and vilified or gave spiritual life)

The scriptures teach us that without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin.
Heb 9:22  And, according to the Torah, almost all is cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

We see in the book of Beresheet/Genesis that the serpent deceived Chawa (Eve was a translated name of the Hebrew Chawa)– (Gen 3)

The word for serpent is “Nachash” – Nun cheit shin – and has a gematria of 358. See also Bemidbar/Numbers 21 concerning the serpent on the bronze pole.

1Jn 3:8  The one doing sin(practising lawlessness) is of the devil, because the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of Elohim was manifested: to destroy the works of the devil.1 Footnote: 1See Titus 2:14.

The gematria for Moshiach – mem shin yud chet – is also 358 (Moshiach had to bear our sins).

This week our Torah portion teaches us about the Torah of the five different offerings. The Korban Olah or burnt offering; the korban ha mincha  or the grain offering; korban ha chatat or the sin offering; the korban ha asham or the guilt offering and finally the korban ha shlamim or the peace offering.

We should not take on the full burden of understanding these offerings as these instructions were primarily directed to the Levites.

When Messiah returns and the Temple and its service is restored (Ezekiel chps 40 -48) we will be carefully instructed as to how we should go about partaking in the blessing of the Temple service and its offerings.

Our Torah Portion begins:

Lev 6:12  ‘And the fire on the altar is kept burning on it, it is not put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and arrange the burnt offering on it, and shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings –
Lev 6:13  fire is continually kept burning on the altar, it is not put out.

The fire burning continually reminded them that their approach to YHVH was always and only through the means of an offering. Their acceptance before the Almighty was on the basis of a substitutionary offering – that and nothing else.

Maybe the person who presented a burnt offering became aware of a distance or coldness between himself and YHVH and felt prompted to spend some quality with YHVH beside the altar until his entire offering had been consumed – bringing a pleasing aroma to YHVH.

According to the sages the “tamid” offering was the first offering of every day.

Exo 29:39  “Prepare the one lamb in the morning, and the other lamb you prepare between the evenings,
Exo 29:40  and one-tenth of an ĕphah of flour mixed with one-fourth of a hin of pressed oil, and one-fourth of a hin of wine as a drink offering, with the one lamb.
Exo 29:41  “And prepare the other lamb between the evenings. And with it prepare the grain offering and the drink offering, as in the morning, for a sweet fragrance, an offering made by fire to יהוה
Exo 29:42  a continual burnt offering (olat tamid) for your generations at the door of the Tent of Meeting before יהוה, where I shall meet with you to speak with you.

This “continuous” or “tamid’ offering was usually done at nine o clock (the Third hour) in the morning and three a clock (the Ninth hour) in the afternoon.
The times of these offerings were amazingly similar to the time when Yahshua was nailed to an execution stake and when he finally died on the Mount of Olives – Geth Semane – Gat Shem – the place where the olives were pressed.

Mar 15:24  And when they impaled Him, they divided His garments, casting lots for them, what each one should take.
Mar 15:25  And it was the third hour, and they impaled Him. (9 0 clock in the morning)

Mat 27:45  And from the sixth hour (Noon) there was darkness over all the land, until the ninth hour (3pm).

This was a solar eclipse.

Mat 27:46  And about the ninth hour יהושע cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Ěli, Ěli, lemah sheḇaqtani?” that is, “My Ěl, My Ěl, why have You forsaken Me?”
Mat 27:47  Some of those standing there, having heard, said, “This One calls Ěliyahu!”
Mat 27:48  And immediately one of them ran and took a sponge, and filled it with sour wine and put it on a reed, and gave it to Him to drink.

An ancient apocryphal fragment - the so-called “Report of Pilate” states:
"Jesus was delivered to him by Herod, Archelaus, Philip, Annas, Caiphas, and all the people. At his crucifixion the Sun was darkened; the stars appeared and in all the world people lighted lamps from the sixth hour till evening; the Moon appeared like blood."

There was also an earthquake at the time of Yahshua’s execution.
Mat 27:50  And יהושע cried out again with a loud voice, and gave up His spirit.
Mat 27:51  And see, the veil of the Dwelling Place was torn in two from top to bottom, and the earth was shaken, and the rocks were split,
Mat 27:52  and the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the set-apart ones who had fallen asleep were raised,
Mat 27:53  and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection, they went into the set-apart city and appeared to many.
Mat 27:54  And when the captain and those with him, who were guarding יהושע, saw the earthquake and all that took place, they feared exceedingly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of Elohim!”

Back to Torah poriton
Lev 6:14  ‘And this is the Torah of the grain offering: The sons of Aharon shall bring it near before יהוה, in front of the altar,
Lev 6:15  and shall take from it with his hand from the fine flour of the grain offering, and from its oil, and all the frankincense which is on the grain offering, and shall burn it on the altar for a sweet fragrance, as its remembrance portion to יהוה.
Lev 6:16  ‘Then Aharon and his sons eat the rest of it. It is eaten with unleavened bread, in the set-apart place. They eat it in the courtyard of the Tent of Meeting.
Lev 6:17  ‘It is not baked with leaven. I have given it to them as their portion of My offerings made by fire, it is most set-apart, like the sin offering and the guilt offering.
Lev 6:18  ‘All the males among the children of Aharon eat it – a law forever in your generations concerning the offerings made by fire to יהוה. All that touches them is to be set-apart.’ ”

Remember these were offerings freely given from the heart. What was going on in the heart of a person who brought such an offering? Perhaps there was deep sense of gratitude that YHVH had continually provided grain at the right time making it possible for them to have a continual supply of bread - a staple part of their diet.

Lev 6:19  And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,
Lev 6:20  “This is the offering of Aharon and his sons, which they bring near to יהוה, beginning on the day when he is anointed: one-tenth of an ĕphah of fine flour as a daily grain offering, half of it in the morning and half of it at night.
Lev 6:21  “It is made on a griddle with oil. Bring it in mixed, bring the baked portions of the grain offering near, a sweet fragrance to יהוה.
Lev 6:22  “And the anointed priest from among his sons, who is in his place, prepares it – a law forever to יהוה. All of it has to be burned,
Lev 6:23  and every grain offering for the priest is completely burned, it is not eaten.”
Lev 6:24  And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,
Lev 6:25  “Speak to Aharon and to his sons, saying, ‘This is the Torah of the sin offering: In the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered, the sin offering is slaughtered before יהוה, it is most set-apart.
Lev 6:26  ‘The priest who is making atonement eats it, in the set-apart place it is eaten, in the courtyard of the Tent of Meeting.
Lev 6:27  ‘All that touches its flesh is to be set-apart. And when its blood is sprinkled on any garment, you wash that on which it was sprinkled, in a set-apart place.
Lev 6:28  ‘But the earthen vessel in which it is cooked is to be broken. And if it is cooked in a bronze pot, then it is scoured and rinsed in water.
Lev 6:29  ‘Every male among the priests eats it, it is most set-apart.
Lev 6:30  ‘And no sin offering from which any of the blood is brought into the Tent of Meeting, to make atonement in the set-apart place, is eaten, it is burned with fire. (Yom Kippur)

The person that brought a sin offering was most probably deeply aware that he had sinned and let down himself and others. This offering afforded such a person an opportunity to deeply consider his transgression and the implications of his transgression. Such a person possibly received wise counsel from the Levite who assisted him with the offering and so helped him find peace with himself and others, once again.

Lev 7:1  ‘And this is the Torah of the guilt offering – it is most set-apart.
Lev 7:2  ‘The guilt offering is slaughtered in the place where they slaughter the burnt offering, and its blood is sprinkled on the altar all around.
Lev 7:3  ‘Then he brings from it all its fat: the fat tail and the fat that covers the entrails,
Lev 7:4  and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them by the loins, and the appendage on the liver, which he removes with the kidneys.
Lev 7:5  ‘And the priest shall burn them on the altar as an offering made by fire to יהוה. It is a guilt offering.
Lev 7:6  ‘Every male among the priests eats it. It is eaten in the set-apart place, it is most set-apart.
Lev 7:7  ‘The guilt offering is like the sin offering, there is one Torah for them both: the priest who makes atonement with it, it is his.
Lev 7:8  ‘And the priest who brings anyone’s burnt offering, the skin of the burnt offering which he has brought is the priest’s, it is his. (Used for Torah scrolls)
Lev 7:9  ‘And every grain offering that is baked in the oven and all that is prepared in the stewing-pot, or on a griddle, is the priest’s who brings it, it is his.
Lev 7:10  ‘And every grain offering mixed with oil, or dry, is for all the sons of Aharon, for all alike.

The guilt offering was most probably brought by someone who became aware that they had transgressed in regard to the set apart things of YHVH - the Temple or its offerings or anything else having to do with its service.

Lev 7:11  ‘And this is the Torah of the slaughtering of peace offerings which is brought to יהוה:
Lev 7:12  ‘If he brings it for a thanksgiving, then he shall bring with the slaughtering of thanksgiving unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened thin cakes anointed with oil, or cakes of finely blended flour mixed with oil.
Lev 7:13  ‘Besides the cakes, he brings as his offering leavened bread together with the slaughtering of thanksgiving of his peace offering.
Lev 7:14  ‘And from it he shall bring one cake from each offering as a contribution to יהוה: to the priest who sprinkles the blood of the peace offering, it is his.
Lev 7:15  ‘As for the flesh of the slaughtering of his peace offering for thanksgiving, it is eaten the same day it is offered, he does not leave any of it until morning.
Lev 7:16  ‘And if the offering he brings is a vow or a voluntary offering, it is eaten the same day that he brings his slaughtering, and what is left of it is eaten the next day,
Lev 7:17  but whatever is left of the flesh of the slaughtering on the third day is burned with fire.
Lev 7:18  ‘However, if any of the flesh of his peace offering is eaten at all on the third day, it is not accepted. It is not reckoned to him who brings it, it is unclean to him, and the being who eats of it bears his crookedness.
Lev 7:19  ‘And the flesh that touches that which is unclean is not eaten, it is burned with fire. And as for the clean flesh, all who are clean eat of it.
Lev 7:20  ‘But the being who eats the flesh of the peace offering that belongs to יהוה, while he is unclean, that being shall be cut off from his people.
Lev 7:21  ‘And when a being who touches that which is unclean, of the uncleanness of man, or of the uncleanness of beast, or of any unclean swarming creature, and shall eat the flesh of the peace offering that belongs to יהוה, that being shall be cut off from his people.’ ”
Lev 7:22  And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,
Lev 7:23  “Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, saying, ‘Do not eat any fat, of bull or sheep or goat.
Lev 7:24  ‘And the fat of a dead body, and the fat of what is torn, is used for any purpose, but you do not eat it at all.
Lev 7:25  ‘For whoever eats the fat of the beast of which men bring as an offering made by fire to יהוה, even the being who eats it shall be cut off from his people.
Lev 7:26  ‘And do not eat any blood in any of your dwellings, of bird or of beast.
Lev 7:27  ‘Any being who eats any blood, even that being shall be cut off from his people.’ ”
Lev 7:28  And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,
Lev 7:29  “Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, saying, ‘He who brings his peace offering to יהוה brings his offering to יהוה from the slaughtering of his peace offering.
Lev 7:30  ‘With his own hands he bring the offerings made by fire to יהוה. He brings the fat with the breast, to be waved as a wave offering before יהוה.
Lev 7:31  ‘And the priest shall burn the fat on the altar, but the breast shall be Aharon’s and his sons.’
Lev 7:32  ‘And the right thigh you give to the priest as a contribution from your peace offerings.
Lev 7:33  ‘He among the sons of Aharon, who brings the blood of the peace offering, and the fat, the right thigh is his for a portion.
Lev 7:34  ‘For the breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the contribution I have taken from the children of Yisra’ĕl, from their peace offerings, and I give them to Aharon the priest and to his sons, as a law forever, from the children of Yisra’ĕl.’ ”
Lev 7:35  This is the anointed portion for Aharon and the anointed portion for his sons, from the offerings made by fire to יהוה, on the day when Mosheh presented them to serve as priests to יהוה,
Lev 7:36  which יהוה commanded to be given to them by the children of Yisra’ĕl, on the day that He anointed them, a law forever throughout their generations.
Lev 7:37  This is the Torah of the burnt offering, of the grain offering, and of the sin offering, and of the guilt offering, and of the ordinations, and of the peace offering,
Lev 7:38  which יהוה commanded Mosheh on Mount Sinai, on the day when He commanded the children of Yisra’ĕl to bring their offerings to יהוה, in the Wilderness of Sinai.

Baruch ha Shem YHVH all these offerings point us to the complete work of Messiah in shedding his blood for us.

Baruch atah YHVH, Eloheynu, Melech ha-‘Olam, asher natan lanu Toraht-emet, v’chay-yeh o’lam nata-b’tochenu. Baruch atah YHVH, noteyn ha-Torah. Ameyn.”
(Blessed are you Yahweh, our Elohim, King of the Universe, you have given us your Torah of truth, and have planted everlasting life within our midst. Blessed are you, YHVH giver of the Torah – Ameyn
