Blessed are You, YHVH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has made us set apart through His commandments and commanded us to engross ourselves in the words of the Torah. Blessed are You, YHVH, Giver of the Torah – Amein

Moses' Final Blessing on Yisrael/ Israel

Mosheh: Deu 33:1  And this is the blessing with which Mosheh the man of Elohim blessed the children of Yisra’ěl before his death.

Deu 33:2  And he said, “יהוה came from Sinai, and rose from Sě‛ir for them. He shone forth from Mount Paran, and came with ten thousands of set-apart ones – at His right hand a law of fire for them.

Once again, we are looking at cryptic language - having a meaning that is mysterious or obscure.

After researching historical archaeological evidence, I have concluded the following:

The greatest blessing imaginable for the Jews, their tribes and all other people outside the commonwealth of Israel would be return to the Israel of Messiah.

“YHVH coming” most probably refers to the Messiah (who is the perfect representative of YHVH) at his second coming (most probably at a future ‘’Yom kippur - Zechariah 14:4-9).

On his way to the mount of Olives where he will establish his Messianic kingdom, he will first take a trip down ‘’memory lane’’ most probably accompanied by his bride and guests of his bride, who will be attending the marriage supper of the Lamb – Rev 19 –

The first stop of his journey will be at mount Sinai where he collects a copy of the Torah  – ‘’at His right hand a law of fire for them.’’ Then he visits mount Seir – the probable location of ‘’Petra’’ where he collects the survivors of the great tribulation. Finally, he visits Mount Paran – archaeological evidence seems to suggest this is the place where Ishmael fled with his mother Hagar after being sent out of their home by Abraham and Sarah. Ishmael means ‘’he will hear Elohim’’ In the last days it is probable that the seed of Isaac/Yitschak and a remnant seed of Ismael/Ishmael will come together again.

‘’Yes, according to the biblical account in Genesis 25:9, both Isaac and Ishmael attended Abraham's funeral and buried him in the cave of Machpelah. This was in the field Abraham purchased from the sons of Heth, the same field where he had previously buried Sarah. This act of burying Abraham together is seen as a moment of reconciliation between the brothers.’’

Deu 33:3  Indeed, He loves the peoples, all His set-apart ones are in Your hand. And they, they sat down at Your feet, receiving Your Words. (the words of king Messiah)

Deu 33:4  Mosheh commanded us a Torah, an inheritance of the assembly of Ya‛aqo

Deu 33:5  And He was Sovereign in Yeshurun, when the heads of the people were gathered, the tribes of Yisra’ěl.

Following is a list of blessings given by Moshe to the sons of Israel.

We will compare this list of blessing given by Moshe with a list that Yakov gave to the sons of Israel in Gen 49. It is important to recognize the timing of these two sets of blessings –

Yakov blessed his sons before they left Egypt to embark on their 40 year wilderness journey; and

Moshe blessed the sons of Israel as they were departing from the wilderness to enter into the Promised Land. The context of Moshe’s blessings should be seen in context of an end time scenario.

Yakov blessing - Gen 49:1  And Ya‛aqo called his sons and said, “Gather together, so that I declare to you what is to befall you in the last days:

Gen 49:2  “Gather together and hear, you sons of Ya‛aqo, and listen to Yisra’ěl your father.

We return to begin with Moshe’ blessings:

Mosheh - Deu 33:6  “Let Re’uěn live, and not die, and let his men be numbered.”

We see that the numbers of Reuben had declined from the first census of 46 500 men 20 years and older to the second census of  43 730 – see Num 1 and Num 26

The rights of the first-born had been removed from Reuben in the blessing of Jacob (Genesis 49:3); Moses, however, promises this tribe continuance and prosperity.

Yakov - Gen 49:3 Re’uěn, you are my first-born, my power and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of exaltation and the excellency of power.

Gen 49:4  “Boiling like water, you do not excel, because you went up to your father’s bed, then you defiled it – he went up to my couch.

Eph 6:2  “Respect your father and mother,” which is the first command with promise,

Eph 6:3  in order that it might be well with you, and you might live long on the earth.” Exo_20:12, Deu_5:16

Mosheh - Deu 33:7  And this of Yehuah, and he said, “Hear, יהוה, the voice of Yehuah, and bring him to his people. His hands shall fight for him, and You be a help against his enemies.”

If you look back at the history of the Jewish nation – they have had to fight their own battles. There has been a demonic agenda to exterminate this nation right throughout its history.

YHVH has and will always help Yehudah/Judah. ‘’You be  תהיה (future) a help against his enemies.”

Yakov - Gen 49:8  “You, Yehuah, your brothers praise you; your hand is on the neck of your enemies; your father’s children bow down before you.

Gen 49:9  “Yehuah is a lion’s cub; from the prey you have gone up, my son! He bowed down, he crouched like a lion. And like a lion, who does rouse him? (Judah grows from a cub to a mature lion)

Gen 49:10  “The sceptre shall not turn aside from Yehuah, nor an Inscriber ומחקק  from between his feet, until Shiloh comes, and to Him is the obedience of peoples - Rom 3:1  What then is the advantage of the Yehui, or what is the value of the circumcision? Rom 3:2  Much in every way! Because firstly indeed, that they were entrusted with the Words of Elohim

“yavo shilo –Shiloh shall arrive” is 358, equal to the word Moshiach.

Gen 49:11  “Binding his donkey to the vine, and his donkey’s colt to the choice vine, he washed his garments in wine, and his robes in the blood of grapes. Zech 9:9 Mat 21:7

Gen 49:12  “His eyes are darker than wine, and his teeth whiter than milk.

Mosheh - Deu 33:8  And of Lěwi he said, “Your Tummim and your Urim belong to your lovingly-commited One, whom You tried at Massah,(testing) with Whom You contended at the waters of Meriah, (when the Israelites were quarrelling for a lack of water at Rephidim)

“Your Tummim and your Urim belong to your lovingly-commited One translated as "lights" (Urim) and "perfections" or "truth" (Thummim), suggest their purpose was to illuminate and reveal YHVH's will, which at Rephidim they apparently failed to do.

YHVH led Israel to Rephidim (‘’resting places) but there was no water for 2,5 million people. Did YHVH make a mistake? The people thought so. Ex 17:1

Luk 11:11  “And what father among you whose son asks for bread shall give him a stone, or if he asks for a fish shall give him a snake instead of a fish,

Luk 11:12  or if he asks for an egg shall give him a scorpion?

Luk 11:13  “If you then, being wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father from heaven give the Set-apart Spirit to those asking Him!”

Deu 33:9  who said of his father and mother, ‘I have not seen them.’ And he did not acknowledge his brothers, or know his own children, for they have guarded Your Word and watched over Your covenant. Mat 10:37

Deu 33:10  “They teach Your right-rulings to Ya‛aqo, and Your Torah to Yisra’ěl. They put incense before You, and a complete ascending offering on Your slaughter-place.

Deu 33:11  “O יהוה, bless his strength, and accept the work of his hands. Smite the loins of those who rise against him, and of those who hate him, that they rise no more.”

Jer 33:20  “Thus said יהוה, ‘If you could break My covenant with the day and My covenant with the night, so that there be not day and night in their season,

Jer 33:21  then My covenant could also be broken with Dawi My servant – so that he shall not have a son to reign upon his throne – and with the Lěwites, the priests, My attendants.

Jer 33:22  As the host of the heavens is not counted, nor the sand of the sea measured, so I increase the descendants of Dawi My servant and the Lěwites who attend upon Me.’ ”

Yakov - Gen 49:5 Shim‛on and Lěwi are brothers, their weapons are implements of violence.

Gen 49:6  “Let my being not enter their council, let my esteem not be united to their assembly; because they killed a man in their displeasure, and they lamed an ox in pleasure. (Shechem)

Gen 49:7  “Cursed be their displeasure for it is fierce, and their wrath for it is cruel! I divide them in Ya‛aqo and scatter them in Yisra’ěl.

In the story of Genesis 34, after Dinah was defiled by Shechem, the prince of Shechem, his brothers, Simeon and Levi, orchestrated the slaughter of all the male inhabitants of Shechem. This act of violence was a response to the perceived dishonour done to Dinah and the desire to avenge her suffering.

Mosheh - Deu 33:12  Of Binyamin he said, “Let the beloved of יהוה dwell in safety by Him, shielding him all the day, as he dwells between His shoulders.”

The location of the Kadosh Kadoshim (Holy of Holies) on the Temple Mount -  which falls on the territory inherited by the Tribe of Benjamin – ‘’son of My right Hand.’’

Yakov - Gen 49:27  “Binyamin is a wolf that tears, in the morning he eats prey, and at night he divides the spoil.”

From creation, days are evening followed by morning, but not here. Looking at the time of creation, we see that days start at evening and are followed by morning, but here we have time in reverse order.

In Judges 3:12-30 we are introduced to Ehud, a Benjamite, a great and fierce warrior who delivered Israel from the Moabites. It is specifically mentioned that he is lefthanded in verse 15. Do you also see the contrast in the words? Descendent of the son of his right hand, Ehud, the left-handed warrior.

If you stand on YHVH’s right hand and He stretches out to take your hand – which hand is next to His Right Hand? Your left hand! ‘-’The weaker side’’

2Co 12:9  And He said to me, “My favour is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, then, I shall rather boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Messiah rests on me.

2Co 12:10  Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in insults, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for the sake of Messiah. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

The Hebrew surname Netanyahu (נְתַנְיָהוּ) means "Yah has given".

Mosheh - Deu 33:13  And of Yosěph he said, “Blessed of יהוה is his land, with the choicest from the heavens, with the dew, ( מטלnight mist) and the deep lying beneath, See Dev 32:2 Mat 11:28-30

The ‘’deep beneath’’ mysteries of the Torah – see Sanhedrin 59a – Rabbi Meir said when a gentile studies the Torah – he becomes like a Kohen Gadol - Lev 18:5 ‘And you shall guard My laws and My right-rulings, which a man does and lives by them. I am יהוה

When the sons of Yosef (gentiles) awaken to an understanding of Mashiach ben Yosef according the Torah) – it will bring the greatest blessings to all the restored tribes of Israel and to all the gentiles. The revelation of Messiah son of David cannot be complete without the revelation of Messiah ben Yosef. Most of the Christian gentile world has much to learn in this regard.

Hos 3:5  Afterward the children of Yisra’ěl (10 northern tribes)  shall return,(to the Torah) and seek יהוה their Elohim, and Dawi their sovereign, and fear יהוה and His goodness, in the latter days.

Deu 33:14  with the choice fruits of the sun, with the choice yield of the months,

Deu 33:15  with the finest of the ancient mountains, with the choicest of the everlasting hills,

Deu 33:16  with the choicest of the earth and all that fills it, and the good pleasure of Him who dwelt in the bush. Let it come on the head of Yosěph, and on the crown of the head of him who was separate from his brothers. (maybe the choice blessings of Torah will first come on Yosef)

Deu 33:17  “His splendour is like a first-born bull, בכור שׁורו and his horns are like the horns of the wild ox – Orox (an extinct wild ox) - ראם with them he pushes the peoples to the ends of the earth. And they are the ten thousands of Ephrayim, and they are the thousands of Menashsheh.”

Yakov - Gen 49:22  “Yosěph is an offshoot of a fruit-bearing tree, an offshoot of a fruit-bearing tree by a fountain, his branches run over a wall.

Gen 49:23  “And the archers have bitterly grieved him, shot at him and hated him.

Gen 49:24  “But his bow remained in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the Mighty One of Ya‛aqo – from there is the Shepherd, the Stone of Yisra’ěl –

Gen 49:25  from the Ěl of your father who helps you, and by the Almighty who blesses you with blessings of the heavens from above, blessings of the deep that lies beneath, blessings of the breasts and of the womb.

Gen 49:26  “The blessings of your father have excelled the blessings of my ancestors, up to the limit of the everlasting hills. They are on the head of Yosěph, and on the crown of the head of him who was separated from his brothers.

Mosheh - Deu 33:18  And of Zeulun (Heb ‘’exalted’’)he said, “Rejoice, O Zeulun, in your going out, and Yissasar in your tents!

Note how Zevlun and Yissaskar are connected – scholars believe Zevlun were wealthy traders who supported their brothers Yissaskar to study the Torah in their tents.

Deu 33:19 “They call peoples to the mountain, there they slaughter slaughterings of righteousness, for they draw from the riches of the seas, and treasures hidden in the sand.”

Yakov - Gen 49:13  “Zeulun dwells at the seashore, he is for a haven for ships, and his border is unto Tsion.

Mosheh - Deu 33:20  And of Ga (Heb ‘’troop’’)he said, “Blessed is he who enlarges Ga. He dwells as a lion, and shall tear off the arm, also the crown.

Deu 33:21  “And he chose the best for himself, for there the portion of the inscriber מחקק was hidden. And he came with the heads of the people. The righteousness of יהוה he did, and His right-rulings with Yisra’ěl.”

·        "Blessed is he who enlarges Gad":

This suggests that Gad will be given a large and fertile territory, or that their influence and power will expand. (closely connected to Judah?)

·        "He dwells as a lion": (closely connected to Judah?)

This imagery portrays Gad as a courageous and fierce warrior, unafraid of their enemies.

·        "and shall tear off the arm, also the crown":

This imagery symbolizes Gad's ability to conquer and defeat strong enemies, including their rulers and leaders.

·        "He took one look and grabbed the best place for himself, the portion just made for someone important":

This emphasizes that Gad secured a prime location and leadership role within the tribe.

·        "He took his place at the head, carried out YHVH's right ways and his rules for life in Israel.": (closely connected to Judah?)

Yakov - Gen 49:19  “Ga, a raiding band raids him, but he raids its heel.

The verse suggests that while Gad will face opposition and be raided by "raiding bands," they will ultimately prevail and overcome their enemies, perhaps even defeating them from the rear (as indicated by "he raids its heel"). Gad will ambush his enemies. (Samson)

Mosheh - Deu 33:22  And of Dan he said, “Dan is a lion’s cub, that leaps from Bashan.”

Maybe this is a reference to Dan’s unfulfilled potential. For some reason his tribe is omitted from the 144 000 witnesses.  Ancient church fathers and others believed the anti christ would come from the tribe of Dan.

Yakov - Gen 49:16 Dan rightly rules his people as one of the tribes of Yisra’ěl.

Gen 49:17  “Dan is a serpent by the way, an adder by the path, that bites the horse’s heels so that its rider falls backward.

Gen 49:18  “I have waited for your deliverance, O יהוה

Dan's youthful strength, boldness, and potential for growth. The "leap from Bashan. Bashan was a mountainous region known for its wild animals, including lions – also possible demonic strongholds. Appropriately, the commonly used symbol for the Tribe of Dan was the scale of justice because the tribe's name means ''judge. '' The Tribe of Dan, like in the story of Samson, is associated with law and order as well as justice. Bringing justice to YHVH’s enemies who worship strange gods.

Mosheh - Deu 33:23  And of Naphtali he said, “O Naphtali, satisfied with pleasure, and filled with the blessing of יהוה, possess the west and the south.” Naphtali Herz Imber (1856-1909) was a Hebrew poet, most notably known for writing the poem "Hatikvah"

If there is going to be no evil in the millenium why would Yahshua lead the nations for 1000 years with a rod of iron? - The Bible uses the phrase "rod of iron" in Revelation 2:27 to symbolize Yahshua's authority and power, which he will use to rule the world during the Millennium, a 1,000-year period. This phrase, along with the image of "shattering pottery," depicts the firm and decisive nature of his rule over those who oppose himRev 2:27  and he shall shepherd them with a rod of iron, as the potter’s vessels shall be broken to pieces,

Psa_2:9 as I also have received from My Father. Psa 2:9  Break them with a rod of iron, Dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’ ”

Why would people die in the millennium?

Elaboration:

Isaiah 65:20:

This verse suggests that while people will live longer, death will still occur during the millennial reign. It states that "the young man shall die a hundred years old, and the sinner a hundred years old shall be accursed," implying that death is still a reality.

1 Corinthians 15:26:

This verse states that death is "the last enemy to be destroyed," suggesting that death will be abolished at some point in the future.

Revelation 21:4:

This verse says, "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore," which implies that death will be abolished at some point.

In some theological interpretations, people may die during the Millennium, a thousand-year period following the Second Coming of Messiah, but not for the same reasons as before. While some believe no believers will die during this time, others suggest that death may occur for specific groups, including those who may not have accepted Yahshua or who may choose to be rebellious.

Here's a more detailed explanation of the different perspectives:

Some believe that no believers will die during the Millennium:

Immortal bodies: Believers who are glorified (who receive immortal bodies with Yashua’s coming) will not die during the Millennium.

Focus on righteous living: The Millennium is a time of peace and prosperity, where people will live long, healthy lives and are encouraged to live virtuously, according to YHVH’s Torah.

Death as a result of rebellion: Some interpretations suggest that people may die during the Millennium due to their own choices, such as rebellion against YHVH or sin.

Others suggest that some believers may die during the Millennium:

Unbelievers:

Those who reject Messiah or have lived wicked lives may die and remain dead until the end of the Millennium.

Those who are not yet glorified:

Some interpretations suggest that those who are not yet esteemed or who may have become believers later may still experience death.

Death as a natural part of life:

While some may experience longevity, it's possible that natural death could still occur, particularly for those who are not esteemed and immortal (the Bride of Messiah will be immortal).

The underlying principles:

At the Rapture the Righteous living and Dead will be Resurrected – 1 Thes 4:16,17

The Great White Throne Judgment – which also marks the end of the millennium. (Rev 20:7  And when the thousand years have ended, Satan shall be released from his prison,

After the Millennium, the unrighteous dead will be resurrected and judged.. then comes

Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne and Him who was sitting on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away, and no place was found for them.  Rev 20:11-15.

Satan's release:

So, at the end of the Millennium, Satan is released, and some people will choose to rebel against YHVH – Rev 20:7-9

Yakov - Gen 49:21 Naphtali is a deer let loose, he gives words of elegance.

Mosheh - Deu 33:24  And of Ashěr he said, “Ashěr is most blessed of sons. Let him be accepted by his brothers and dip his foot in oil. (see tribal map of Asher – it looks like someone dipping his foot)

Yakov - Gen 49:20  “Bread from Ashěr is rich, and he gives delicacies of a sovereign.

"Bread from Asher shall be rich, and he shall yield royal dainties. "Asher will dine on rich foods and produce food fit for kings. "Asher's food will be rich. He will give pleasing food to kings.

Mosheh to Yisrael  - Deu 33:25  “Your sandals are iron and bronze, and your strength as your days.

Deu 33:26  “O Yeshurun(poetic name or title for Israel, the people of Israel, or the Land of Israel), there is no one like Ěl, riding the heavens to help you, and on the clouds, in His excellency.

The Death of Moses

Deu 34:1  And Mosheh went up from the desert plains of Mo’a to Mount Neo, to the top of Pisgah, which is opposite Yerio. And יהוה showed him all the land of Gil‛a as far as Dan,

Deu 34:2  and all Naphtali and the land of Ephrayim and Menashsheh, all the land of Yehuah as far as the Western Sea,

Deu 34:3  and the Nege, and the plain of the Valley of Yerio, the city of palm trees, as far as Tso‛ar.

Deu 34:4  And יהוה said to him, “This is the land of which I swore to Araham, to Yitsaq, and to Ya‛aqo, saying, ‘To your seed I give it.’ I have let you look at it with your eyes, but you do not pass over there.”

Deu 34:5  And Mosheh the servant of יהוה died there in the land of Mo’a, according to the mouth of יהוה

Deu 34:6  And He buried him in a valley in the land of Mo’a, opposite Běyth Pe‛or, and no one knows his burial-place to this day.

Deu 34:7  And Mosheh was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eyes were not dim nor his freshness gone.

Deu 34:10  And since then no prophet has arisen in Yisra’ěl like Mosheh, whom יהוה knew face to face,

Deu 34:11  for all the signs and wonders which יהוה sent him to do in the land of Mitsrayim, before Pharaoh, and before all his servants, and in all his land,

Deu 34:12  and for all that strong hand and all the great fearsome deeds which Mosheh did before the eyes of all Yisra’ěl.

Haftarah – Is 60:1-22

Num 10:29 And Mosheh said to oa, the son of Re‛u’ěl the Miyanite, Mosheh’s father-in-law, “We are setting out for the place of which יהוה said, ‘I give it to you.’ Come with us, and we shall do good to you, for יהוה has spoken good concerning Yisra’ěl.” Num 10:31  Then he said, “Please do not leave us, because you know how we are to camp in the wilderness, and you shall be our eyes.  (the end time great tribulation)

“…and you shall be our eyes” is written in the future tense. Rashi translates this as “if anything should be hidden from our eyes, you will enlighten us”

Blessed are you YHVH, our Elohim, King of the Universe, You have given us your Torah of truth, and have planted everlasting life within our midst. Blessed are you, YHVH giver of the Torah. Amein.

"Chazak, chazak, v'nitchazek” translates to "Be strong, be strong, and let us strengthen each other."
