Parashat 2 Portion 7 ’Noach’ Beresheet 9:18-10:32 Is 49:9-17,23

Blessed are You, YHVH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has made us set apart through His commandments and commanded us to engross ourselves in the words of the Torah. Blessed are You, YHVH, Giver of the Torah – Ameyn

ויהיו בני־נח - יִּהְיוּ (vayyihyu) every verb form carries hidden nuance. Thus, וַיִּהְיוּ symbolizes the moment when unity becomes diversity, when one divine essence manifests in many forms (“and they were”) – ‘’and there were the sons of Noah’’ Why is this important? Our Torah portion will give us more insight.

Gen 9:18 And the sons of Noaḥ who went out of the ark were Shĕm and Ḥam and Yepheth. And Ḥam was the father of Kenaʽan. Gen 9:19 These three were the sons of Noaḥ, and all the earth was overspread from them.

In rabbinic thought, these verses are understood as the foundation for a renewed covenantal world order. After the flood, creation was “reset,” and Noah became like a new Adam. The rabbis viewed this as YHVH re-establishing His covenant with all humanity — not just Israel

The Midrash describes Noah as a second Adam, appointed to renew the world. The sons’ names point to the prophetic destiny and direction of a renewed world:

  • Shem (name) → divine designation, spiritual inheritance.
  • Ham (warmth/heat) → passion and vitality, but also potential for excess.
  • Japheth (beauty/expansion) → human culture and aesthetics.

Together, they represent the full spectrum of humanity’s gifts and callings in establishing YHVH’s covenant on earth and to bless all the nations in this age and in the coming age.

Gal 3:8  And the Scripture, having foreseen that Elohim would declare right the nations by belief, announced the Good News to Abraham beforehand, saying, “All the nations shall be blessed in you,”

Genesis 11:10-26 traces the descendants of Shem to Abraham.

By the time of the flood, (see Bereshit Rabbah 23:2) teaches that Cain’s line had become completely corrupted and all of them were wiped out, having “filled the earth with violence” (Gen. 6:11–13).

Gen 6:13  and Elohim said to Noa, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them. And see, I am going to destroy them from the earth.

Gen 7:23  So He wiped off all that stand, which were on the face of the ground – both man and beast, creeping creature and bird of the heavens. And they were wiped off from the earth. And only Noa was left, and those with him in the ark.

We see this same scenario prophesied in the last days in the last days:

Zep 1:2  “I shall snatch away all from the face of the earth,” declares יהוה –

Zep 1:3  “I snatch away man and beast, I snatch away the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, and the stumbling-blocks, with the wrong, when I shall cutoff man from the face of the earth,” declares יהוה

Jer 4:22  “For My people are foolish, they have not known Me. They are stupid children, and they have no understanding. They are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.”

Jer 4:23  I looked at the earth, and saw it was formless and empty. And the heavens, they had no light. ( this same expressions is used in Gen 1:2 והארץ היתה תהו ובהו )

Jer 4:24  I looked at the mountains, and saw they shook, and all the hills were swaying.

Jer 4:25  I looked, and saw there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens had fled.

Jer 4:26  I looked, and saw the garden land was a wilderness, and all its cities were broken down at the presence of יהוה, by His burning displeasure.

What about the Nephelim of Gen 9? Surely, they were from the line of Cain.

So, while the Nephilim before the Flood are seen as Cainite in character, none of Cain’s biological descendants survive the deluge.

“And also, afterward” — The Puzzling Phrase Genesis 6:4 adds: “The Nephilim were on the earth in those days — and also afterward…”

Later in Numbers 13:33, the Israelite spies report: “We saw the Nephilim there — the sons of Anak, who come of the Nephilim.”

How could Nephilim exist after the Flood if all Cain’s line was destroyed?

So, post-Flood Nephilim (like the Anakim, Rephaim, and Og) are spiritual echoes of the Cainite corruption, not genealogical descendants.

What if rebellious daughters of Noah’s descendants were deceived into co habitaing with fallen angels?

It is believed by some that the Antichrist and False Prophet carry the spirit of the Nephilim, not their genetics. They represent the final manifestation of the same rebellion — heaven’s order defied by human arrogance. In both Jewish and Christian apocalyptic thought, this is a moral and spiritual phenomenon, not a new angel-human race.

1Pe 1:23 having been born again – not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible – through the living Word of Elohim, which remains forever,

One of the most painful condition of our time as believers is that how come, if we are born again of an incorruptible seed – the Word of Elohim – there remains corruption and the ‘’yetzer ha ra’’ (evil inclination) within the waiting bride of Messiah?

To that question Yahshua would answer ‘’ Mat 22:29  And יהושע answering, said to them, “You go astray, not knowing the Scriptures (Torah) nor the power of Elohim.

This perfect seed was sown into imperfect bodies. That is why the resurrection is so crucial for our redemption.

1Co 15:42  So also is the resurrection of the dead: it is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption; 1Co 15:43  it is sown in disrespect, it is raised in esteem; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 1Co 15:44  it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body; there is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 1Co 15:45 And so it has been written, “The first man Aam became a living being,” Gen_2:7 the last Aam a life-giving Spirit. 1Co 15:46 The spiritual, however, was not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual. 1Co 15:47 The first man was of the earth, earthy; the second Man is the Master from heaven. 1Co 15:48 As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly, so also are those who are heavenly. 1Co 15:49 And as we have borne the likeness of the earthy, we shall also bear the likeness of the heavenly.

Gen 9:20  And Noaḥ, a man of the soil, began and planted a vineyard. Gen 9:21 And he drank of the wine and was drunk and became uncovered in his tent. (her tent not his tent)

כא  וַיֵּשְׁתְּ מִן-הַיַּיִן, וַיִּשְׁכָּר; וַיִּתְגַּל, בְּתוֹךְ אָהֳלֹה.

Gen 9:22 And Ḥam, the father of Kenaʽan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside.

“Now this first incestuous act on the list is described in Leviticus 18:7: “You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father, which is the nakedness of your mother; she is your mother; you shall not uncover her nakedness.”  In other words, a man’s mother has nakedness that is actually his father’s nakedness, that is, a nakedness that belongs to his father alone. He is not to “uncover her nakedness,” i.e., have sexual intercourse with her, because her sexuality, her nakedness, is to be reserved only for his father.  This sheds an entirely fresh light on Genesis 9:22, for it reveals that Cham’s sin is not that he stared at Noach nakedness but that he had intercourse with Noach’s wife, his own mother, while Noach was passed out on the couch. He “saw the nakedness of his father,” that is, the nakedness that properly belonged only to Noach.

Shem and Japheth backed into the room so they themselves would not be tempted to commit the same sin and laid a blanket over the exposed body of their mother.  This also explains an otherwise odd thing. In Genesis 9:22 Cham is identified not just as Cham but as “Cham, the father of Kena’an.” This is incongruous, unless of course, Ken’an is the son who was born of this incestuous union between Cham and his mother and became the father of the Kena’anite people.  This explains why the curse of Genesis 9:25 fell, not upon Cham, as one might expect, but upon Kena’an. Noach does not say, “Cursed be Cham,” but “Cursed be Kana’an.” (Now Cham certainly experienced the effect of this curse himself, as his legacy would forever be tainted.)

In the larger narrative of the Torah, this story is included to lay the foundation for YHVH’s decision to use Yisrael as a means of judgment on the Kena’anites. They were a people conceived in incest, a people who began their history under the curse of sexual depravity, and were a people characterized by sexual perversity for their entire history, as events in Sodom and Gomorrah illustrate.  (Gen 10:19 – Sodom Gomorah is Kena’anite territory) In time, the unrepentant sexual deviancy of Kena’an caused them to forfeit their moral right to exercise sovereignty over their native land and they were destroyed. The land “vomited them out” (Lev. 18:25), as if their depravity had made their homeland physically sick. In time, when the “iniquity of the Amorites...(was) complete” (Genesis 15:16), YHVH’s patience was exhausted and Kena’an was judged by the armies of Yisrael.

It preserves the idea that has been brought forth that this was an attempted seizure of Noach's authority, quoting a 1971 article from FW Basset: "A son who has sexual relations with his mother or step-mother commits a rebellious act against his father, since the possession of a man's wife is seen also as an effort to supplant the man himself." Note the connection with Absalom, Reuven, Dawid's taking of Shaul's wives, and Adoniyah's attempt to have Abishag.’’

‘’A report from Human Rights Watch (HRW) has documented how cases of violence ranging from spousal and child abuse to rape, incest and murders committed under the guise of family ‘honour’ often go unreported and unpunished. Discriminatory criminal legislation in force in the West Bank and Gaza has led to virtual impunity for perpetrators of sexual violence and has deterred victims from reporting abuse.’’

See also 1 Cor 5:1-5 Paul deals with a similar problem in one of the assemblies.

Gen 9:22  And Ḥam, the father of Kenaʽan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. Gen 9:23  So Shĕm and Yepheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and went backward and covered the nakedness of their father, but their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father’s nakedness Gen 9:24  And Noaḥ awoke from his wine, and he knew what his younger son had done to him,Gen 9:25  and he said, “Cursed is Kenaʽan, let him become a servant of servants to his brothers. Gen 9:26  And he said, Blessed be יהוה, the Elohim of Shĕm, and let Kenaʽan become his servant. Gen 9:27  “Let Elohim enlarge Yepheth, and let him dwell in the tents of Shĕm. And let Kenaʽan become his servant.

Vs 27 has given rise to a diabolical justification of treating black people poorly. Every human being on earth is made in the image of YHVH and is worthy of dignity and respect.

In fact, the true followers of Messiah will not only see themselves as servants, but as bond servants. Committing themselves to a life of servanthood as our Master Messiah came to show us.

The nation of Yisrael was birthed on the continent of Africa.

Our Messiah Himself found protection on the continent of Africa –

Mat 2:13  And when they had left, see, a messenger of יהוה appeared to Yosěph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the Child and His mother, and flee to Mitsrayim, and remain there until I bring you word, for Herodes is about to seek the Child to destroy Him.”

Mat 2:14  And rising up, he took the Child and His mother by night and departed for Mitsrayim,

Mat 2:15  and remained there until the death of Herodes, to fill what was spoken by יהוה through the prophet, saying, “Out of Mitsrayim I have called My Son.” Exo_4:22-23Hos_11:1Rev_21:7

Gen 9:27  “Let Elohim enlarge Yepheth, and let him dwell in the tents of Shĕm. And let Kenaʽan become his servant.”

Vs 27 is an often-overlooked prophecy in the Torah. The implication is that although there may be three groups of believers in YHVH and His Messiah – there is only one “tent” or one place where YHVH chooses to meet with those who call on His Name – Shem’s tent.  (Ez 23)

The tents of Shem…….

Rom 3:1 What then is the advantage of the Yehuḏite, or what is the value of the circumcision? Rom 3:2 Much in every way! Because firstly indeed, that they were entrusted with the Words of Elohim.1 Footnote: 1See 2:20. Rom 3:3 For what if some did not believe? Shall their unbelief nullify the trustworthiness of Elohim? Rom 3:4 Let it not be! But let Elohim be true, and every man a liar, as it has been written, “That You should be declared right in Your words, and prevail in Your judging.”

Rom 9:4  who are Yisra’ĕlites, whose is the adoption, and the esteem, and the covenants, and the giving of the Torah, and the worship, and the promises, Rom 9:5 whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Messiah according to the flesh, who is over all, Elohim-blessed forever. Amĕn.

Rom 9:6 However, it is not as though the word of Elohim has failed. For they are not all Yisra’ĕl who are of Yisra’ĕl, Rom 9:7 neither are they all children because they are the seed of Aḇraham, but, In Yitsḥaq your seed shall be called. Rom 9:8 That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of Elohim, but the children of the promise are reckoned as the seed.

Gen 9:28 – 10:32

Isa 49:5  And now said יהוה – who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant, to bring Ya‛aqo back to Him, though Yisra’ěl is not gathered to Him, yet I am esteemed in the eyes of יהוה, and My Elohim has been My strength –  Isa 49:6  and He says, “Shall it be a small matter for You to be My Servant to raise up the tribes of Ya‛aqo, and to bring back the preserved ones of Yisra’ěl? And I shall give You as a light to the nations, to be My deliverance to the ends of the earth!”  Isa 49:7  Thus said יהוה, the Redeemer of Yisra’ěl, their Set-apart One, to the Jer 4:22  “For My people are foolish, they have not known Me. They are stupid children, and they have no understanding. They are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.”

The Restoration of Yisrael

Isa 49:8  Thus said יהוה, “In a favourable time I shall answer You, and in the day of deliverance I shall help You – and I guard You and give You for a covenant of the people, to restore the earth, to cause them to inherit the ruined inheritances,

Blessed are you YHVH, our Elohim, King of the Universe, you have given us your Torah of truth and have planted everlasting life within our midst. Blessed are you, YHVH giver of the Torah. Amein.

Additional Midrash:

Rom 9:4 who are Yisra’ĕlites, whose is the adoption, and the esteem, and the covenants, and the giving of the Torah, and the worship, and the promises,

(Ez 23)

I believe one of the most liberating revelations about being in a covenant with YHVH is about to be revealed to YHVH’s covenant people in the last days that will finally deliver us from all idolatry ……. I will share this in private in fear of being misunderstood.

Hint: Yom Kippur - The innermost space of union where heaven and earth meet – the most intimate space where YHVH enters into covenant with man. That space where we receive His Name. That space where no one else is permitted besides You and YHVH.

Shemeni Atzaret – 2025

Chag sameach Shemini Atzeret.

“On the eighth day you shall have a solemn assembly (עֲצֶרֶת); you shall do no servile work.”
— Leviticus 23:36; Numbers 29:35

The total number of sacrifices on Sukkot was 70 bulls, 14 rams, 98 lambs, and 7 goats.

During Shemini Atzareth only one ram and one bull were slaughtered.

In rabbinic understanding, this is the most intimate day of all the moedim (appointed times).

The nations have gone home (Sukkot had seventy bulls offered for the nations).

Now it’s just YHVH and His beloved Israel—quiet joy, lingering communion. Ps 15 and Ps 24

“The eighth day” points to that which transcends the cycle of the earthly.
It’s not just another day — it’s a foretaste of Olam Ha-Ba, the World to Come.

“After the thousand years are finished, the Bride and Bridegroom remain together for eternity — Shemini Atzeret, the Eighth Day, the Endless Day.”

This is our final ‘’moed’’ of Torah’s ‘’moedim’’

As I was reflecting over the various sabbath appointments over the past year. I was reminded of the two descriptions of these sabbaths that the Torah teaches us – ‘’the shabbat’’ and the ‘’shabbat shabbaton’’

The distinction is very important and teaches us one of the most important spiritual lessons we must learn and practice during our pilgrimage here on this earth.

The lesson is simply this – In a covenant relationship there are two parties. Now, for the blessings of that covenant relationship to flow each party to that covenant will understand perform their obligations in order for the blessings to flow in that covenant.

This partnership is sometimes called the Covenant Danceman acts below, YHVH acts above.

In Hebrew thought this principle is called אתערותא דלתתא (itaruta d’letata) — “the awakening from below.” (why? The problem of failed covenant rests with man and not YHVH)

It means that human obedience, repentance, and faithfulness become the vessel through which divine power and blessing are released.
Not that man causes YHVH to act, but that man aligns himself with YHVH’s covenant flow.

In other words: Man awakens below → YHVH fulfills above.
You obey and trust → YHVH completes and blesses.

This is the heart of the covenant, the inner meaning of Shabbat Shabbaton
our ceasing makes room for His completion.

This expresses the balance of emunah (faith) and ma‘asim (deeds) perfectly.

when we take the step of covenant obedience, Heaven completes it with blessing.

The appointments (sabbaths not shabbatons) related to the Passover during the first 3 months of the year (scriptural year Ex 12:2) Pesach, Chag ha Matzot, counting of the Omer and Shavuot contain instructions that I am responsible to willingly embrace and obey.

The remaining appointments (shabbat shabbatons) we must just pitch up with fellow like minded believers and believe that YHVH will do what we cannot do – Weekly sabbath, Yom Truah, Yom Ha Kippurim, Succoth and shemeni Atzareth and Smittah an Jubilee appointments.

This distinction is clearly shown in the Torah – Lev 23 and 25

1. The weekly shabbat – Lev 23:3 is classified as a shabbat shabbaton.

 2. Yom Teruah – Lev 23:24 is classified as a shabbat shabbaton.

3. Yom Ha Kippurim – Lev 23:32 is classified as a shabbat shabbaton.

4. Succoth – Lev 23:39 is classified as a shabbat shabbaton.

5.Shemeni Atzareth – Lev 23:39 is classified as a shabbat shabbaton.

6.Shmittah (Jubilee) Lev 25:4,5. is classified as a shabbat shabbaton.

Shabbat Shabbaton marks times of total surrender — where both body and creation cease their work and YHVH alone acts.

In Midrash Rabbah and Rashi’s commentary, “Shabbat Shabbaton” indicates:

“The most complete rest — rest of body, speech, and thought.”

Shabbat reminds us of Creation (“For in six days YHWH made the heavens and the earth”).

Shemeni atzareth points us to a new creation

Rev 21:1  And I saw a renewed heaven and a renewed earth,a Isa_65:17 for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea is no more. Footnote: aAlso see Isa_66:22

Isa 66:22  “For as the new heavens and the new earth that I make stand before Me,” declares יהוה, “so your seed and your name shall stand.

Shabbat Shabbaton reminds us of Redemption — when YHVH alone will bring final rest.

The concept of Shabbat represents malchut (7000 years) — the divine indwelling presence (Shekhinah). Shabbat Shabbaton represents union with the Infinite — the eternal state of peace where all creation returns to its Source.

So, the sages often call Shemini Atzeret the eternal Shabbat — It represents the rest beyond rest — the stillness that follows all labour, the joy that follows all pilgrimage.

The Apostolic scriptures remind us of how important this lesson is –

YHVH to do Eph 3:20  And to Him who is able to do exceedingly above what we ask or think, according to the power that is working in us,

Heb 3:1  Therefore, set-apart brothers, partakers of the heavenly calling, closely consider the Emissary and High Priest of our confession, Messiah יהושע

Heb 3:2  who was trustworthy to Him who appointed Him, as also Mosheh in all His house.a Footnote: aSee Num_12:7

Heb 3:3  For this One has been deemed worthy of more esteem than Mosheh, as much as He who built the house enjoys more respect than the house.

Heb 3:4  For every house is built by someone, but He who built all is Elohim.

Heb 3:5  And Mosheh indeed was trustworthy in all His house as a servant, for a witness of what would be spoken later

Heb 3:6  but Messiah as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the boldness and the boasting of the expectation firm to the end.

A Rest for the People of God

Heb 3:7  Therefore, as the Set-apart Spirit says, “Today, if you hear His voice,

Heb 3:8  do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, in the day of trial in the wilderness,

Heb 3:9  where your fathers tried Me, proved Me, and saw My works forty years.

Heb 3:10  “Therefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart, and they have not known My ways.’

Heb 3:11  “As I swore in My wrath, ‘If they shall enter into My rest...’ ” Psa_95:7-11

Heb 3:12  Look out, brothers, lest there be in any of you a wicked heart of unbelief in falling away from the living Elohim,

Heb 3:13  but encourage one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened by the deceivableness of sin.

Heb 3:14  For we have become partakers of Messiah if we hold fast the beginning of our trust firm to the end,

Heb 3:15  while it is said, “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.” Psa_95:7-8

Heb 3:16  For who, having heard, rebelled? Was it not all who came out of Mitsrayim, led by Mosheh?

Heb 3:17  And with whom was He grieved forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness?

Heb 3:18  And to whom did He swear that they would not enter into His rest, but to those who did not obey?

Heb 3:19  So we see that they were unable to enter in because of unbelief.

Heb 4:1  Therefore, since a promise remains of entering into His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it.

Heb 4:2  For indeed the Good News was brought to us as well as to them, but the word which they heard did not profit them, not having been mixed with belief in those who heard it.

Heb 4:3  For we who have believed do enter into that rest, as He has said, “As I swore in My wrath, if they shall enter into My rest...” Psa_95:11 And yet His works have come into being from the foundation of the world.

Heb 4:4  For somewhere He has said thus about the seventh day, “And Elohim rested on the seventh day from all His works,” Gen_2:2

Heb 4:5  and in this again, “If they shall enter into My rest...” Psa_95:11

Heb 4:6  Since then it remains for some to enter into it, and those who formerly received the Good News did not enter in because of disobedience,

Heb 4:7  He again defines a certain day, “Today,” saying through Dawi so much later, as it has been said, “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.” Psa_95:7-8

Heb 4:8  For if Yehoshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that.

Heb 4:9  So there remains a Sabbath-keepinga for the people of Elohim. Footnote: aThe Greek word is sabattismos, which means Sabbath-keeping. (shabbaton)

Heb 4:10  For the one, having entered into His rest, has himself also rested from his works, as Elohim rested from His own.

Heb 4:11  Let us therefore do our utmost to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience.

Heb 4:12  For the Word of Elohim is living, and working, and sharper than any two-edged sword, cutting through even to the dividing of being and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Heb 4:13  And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all are naked and laid bare before the eyes of Him with whom is our account.

Jesus the Great High Priest

Heb 4:14  Therefore, since we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, יהושע the Son of Elohim, let us hold fast our confession.

Heb 4:15  For we do not have a High Priest unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who was tried in all respects as we are, apart from sin.

Heb 4:16  Therefore, let us come boldly to the throne of favour, in order to receive compassion, and find favour for timely help.

Finally:

Isa 30:15  For thus said the Master יהוה, the Set-apart One of Yisra’ěl, “In returning and rest you are saved, in stillness and trust is your strength.” But you would not,

Isa 30:16  and you said, “No, for we flee upon horses,” therefore you flee! And, “We ride on swift horses,” therefore those who pursue you are swift!

Isa 30:17  One thousand flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five you shall flee until you are left as a pole on top of a mountain and as a sign on a hill. (describing coming days of the persistently disobedient)

The Lord Will Be Gracious

Isa 30:18  And therefore יהוה shall wait, to show you favour. And therefore, He shall be exalted, to have compassion on you. For יהוה is an Elohim of right-ruling. Blessed are all those who wait for Him.

Isa 30:19 For the people shall dwell in Tsiyon at Yerushalayim, you shall weep no more. He shall show much favour to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears, He shall answer you.

Isa 30:20  Though יהוה gave you bread of adversity and water of affliction, your Teachera shall no longer be hidden. But your eyes shall see your Teacher,b Footnotes, aOr teachers bOr teachers. See also Jol_2:23

Isa 30:21  and your ears hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the Way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right, or whenever you turn to the left.

Isa 30:29  Let the song be to you as in a night set apart for a festival, and gladness of heart as he who is going with a flute, to come into the mountain of יהוה, to the Rock of Yisra’ěl.

Maybe this – Is 30 - is what we should be singing and writing songs about.

Parashat 2 Portion 6 ‘’Beresheet’’ Gen 8:15-9:17 Is 42:7-15, 21

Blessed are You, YHVH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has made us set apart through His commandments and commanded us to engross ourselves in the words of the Torah. Blessed are You, YHVH, Giver of the Torah – Ameyn

צא מן־התבה – ‘’come out of the ark’’ (the time has come)

יצא   yâtsâ' - to go out, come out, exit, go forth this word appears in different forms 7 times in this Torah portion (also 9:18)

Last week we looked at Bob Mumford’s teaching on ‘’transitioning’’ we continue this week on this theme. A theme which is very foundational in Rabbinic thinking. The rabbis taught that the soul’s journey was a continual rhythm of “entering” (כניסה) and “leaving” (יציאה) — both in this world and in its spiritual pilgrimage toward Olam Ha-Ba. Some scholars believe that this pattern will continue until the beginning of the eighth day.

Psa 121:7 יהוה guards you from all evil; He guards your being.

Psa 121:8 יהוה guards your going out (יצא) and your coming in Now and forever.

בֵּית הַכְּנֶסֶ  (Beit Knesset) – literally “house of gathering” or “house of entering together.”

So, the word carries both the idea of coming in and of gathering together — entering a space, a covenant, or a relationship.

“Each departure from one level is an entry into another. From concealment into revelation, from lesser light into greater.”

Life in Torah is not static but a sacred journey — every exile is preparation for an entry,

every leaving is a call to higher nearness

Passover is about leaving Egypt, preparing to enter the Promised land.

Shavuot is about leaving a broken covenant and entering into a renewed covenant.

Sukkot is about leaving this earthly dwelling, preparing to dwell in His permanent dwelling.

This pattern—Yetzi’ah → K’nisah → Yeshev (going out, entering in and settling and resting)—mirrors the entire movement of spiritual life, from leaving the lower world, entering into covenant, and resting in divine intimacy. (bridal chamber – depending how far we are willing to be transformed –(being transformed into the same likeness from esteem to esteem – 2 Cor3:18 )

Rev 18:4  And I heard another voice from the heaven saying, "Come out (צאו) of her, my people..

ואשמע קול אחר מן־השמים אמר צאו ממנה עמי

So “come out” often marks a moment of transformation — leaving judgment, captivity, or impurity and entering a new covenant reality.

The lesson we learn from (צא) which is used about 12 times in Parashat Noach, is that YHVH takes the initiative in calling us out of one situation and leading us onto the next, we in turn need favour and mercy to respond to His calling. Our obedient response or lack of obedient response could prove most critical in the last days. (Rev 18:4 …"Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues)

Maybe Yahshua’s words ‘’many are called but few are chosen’’ has to do with those who are invited to the marriage super of the Lamb. Rev 19:9  And he said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who have been called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true words of Elohim.” (to be excluded from the marriage super of the Lamb does not mean you have been excluded from the kingdom)

Gen 8:15 And Elohim spoke to Noa, saying, Gen 8:16 “Go (Heb ‘’tze’’) out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and your sons’ wives with you. Gen 8:17 “Bring out (Heb ‘’ho tze’’) with you every life form of all flesh that is with you: of birds, of cattle and all creeping creatures – the creeping creatures on the earth. And let them teem on the earth, and bear and increase on the earth.” (be fruitful used 3 times in this portion)Gen 8:18  So Noa went out,(Heb ‘’va yatze’’) and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him, Gen 8:19  every beast, every creeping creature, and every bird, whatever creeps on the earth, according to their kinds, went out (Heb ‘’va yatzu’’)of the ark.

Note the repeated use and emphasis of the Hebrew root word ‘’yatze’’ or ‘’come out’’

In vs 17 this word appears in its hyphil form ie ‘’cause to come forth’’ this word is deliberately misspelled in the Torah scroll. Why? Our attention has been drawn to “separation’’ Perhaps drawing our attention to the fact that not all food is clean. (you may think it is ok to eat all food, however not all food is ‘’clean’’) This would also be the first-time man began to eat meat. YHVH would never contradict Himself regarding ‘’kashrut’’

ואשמע קול אחר מן־השמים אמר צאו ממנה עמי

Rev 18:4  And I heard another voice from the heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people…   Yahshua uses the same root word ‘’tza’’ when casting out demons – Mark 1:25, 9:25

We unknowingly use the same word when chasing away an irritating animal or insect – ‘’tza tza’’

Rashi comments that at this time the earth was uninhabitable.

 God's Covenant with Noah

Gen 8:20 And Noa built a slaughter-place (Heb – ‘’mizbeach’’ first appearance of this word) to יהוה and took of every clean beast and of every clean bird and offered ascending offerings on the slaughter-place. Gen 8:21  And יהוה smelled a soothing fragrance, and יהוה said in His heart, “Never again shall I curse the ground because of man, although the inclination (yetzer) of man’s heart is evil from his youth, and never again strike all living creatures, as I have done,

 What then is the remedy?

2Co 5:21  For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of Elohim. (note ‘’becoming’’)

Despite our condition the scripture tell us:

Rom 8:1 There is, then, now no condemnation to those who are in Messiah יהושע, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Rom 8:3  For the Torah being powerless, in that it was weak through the flesh, Elohim, having sent His own Son in the likeness of flesh of sin, and concerning sin, condemned sin in the flesh, Rom 8:4  so that the righteousness of the Torah should be completed in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Gen 8:20 And Noa built a slaughter-place to יהוה and took of every clean beast and of every clean bird, and offered ascending offerings on the slaughter-place.

Gen 8:21 And יהוה smelled a soothing fragrance, and יהוה said in His heart, “Never again shall I curse the ground because of man, although the inclination of man’s heart is evil from his youth, and never again strike all living creatures, as I have done,

Gen 8:22 as long as the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”

Gen 9:1 And Elohim blessed Noa and his sons, and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase, and fill the earth.

Gen 9:2 “And the fear of you and the dread of you is on every beast of the earth, on every bird of the heavens, on all that creeps on the ground, and on all the fish of the sea – into your hand they have been given.

Gen 9:3 “Every creeping creature that lives is food for you. I have given you all, as I gave the green plants.

Gen 9:4 “But do not eat flesh with its life, its blood.

Gen 9:5 “But only your blood for your lives I require, from the hand of every beast I require it, and from the hand of man. From the hand of every man’s brother, I require the life of man.

Gen 9:6 “Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man his blood is shed, for in the image of Elohim has He made man.

Gen 9:7 “As for you, be fruitful and increase, bring forth teemingly in the earth and increase in it.”

Gen 9:8 And Elohim spoke to Noa and to his sons with him, saying,

Gen 9:9 “And I, see, I establish My covenant with you and with your seed after you,

Gen 9:10 and with every living being that is with you: of the birds, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you, of all that go out of the ark, every beast of the earth.

Gen 9:11 “And I shall establish My covenant with you, and never again is all flesh cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again is there a flood to destroy the earth.”

Gen 9:12 And Elohim said, “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living being that is with you, for all generations to come:

Gen 9:13 “I shall set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.

Gen 9:14 “And it shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud,

Gen 9:15 and I shall remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living being of all flesh, and never again let the waters become a flood to destroy all flesh.

Gen 9:16 “And the rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I shall see it, to remember the everlasting covenant between Elohim and every living being of all flesh that is on the earth.”

Gen 9:17 And Elohim said to Noa, “This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.”

YHVH desires covenant, He desires to heal and bring people together. Religion tends to separate people from each other and from His covenant.

Additional Midrash from Ellen G White: (Seven Day Adventist)

Adam and Christ:

The Two Bridegrooms A study in love, obedience, and redemption (based on Ellen G. White’s writings with Scriptural parallels)

 1. The Pattern of Love and Loss – Adam, the First Bridegroom

Key Texts: Genesis 3:6 — “She took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.” 1 Timothy 2:14 — “Adam was not deceived…”

Ellen G. White: “Love, gratitude, and loyalty to the Creator—all were overcome by a deep love and emotional connection to Eve. He resolved to share her fate; if she must die, he would die with her.” (Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 56–57) Adam’s love was human but misplaced. He could not bear separation from his bride—even if it meant separation from God. His love led to death because it was love without obedience.

 2. The Redeeming Counterpart – Christ, the Second Adam Key Texts: Romans 5:18–19 — “By the disobedience of one man many were made sinners… by the obedience of One shall many be made righteous.” Ephesians 5:25–27 — “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself for it.” Ellen G. White: “Christ was treated as we deserve, that we might be treated as He deserves.” (Desire of Ages, p. 25) “The plan of redemption reveals a love so vast that it can never be fully comprehended.” (Education, p. 263) Christ reverses Adam’s act. He enters death not from fear of losing His bride, but to redeem her back to holiness. Love that once disobeyed is now love that obeys unto death.

 3. The Restoration of the Bride Key Texts: Revelation 19:7–9 — “The marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife hath made herself ready.” John 3:29 — “He that hath the bride is the bridegroom.”

Hosea 2:19–20 — “I will betroth thee unto Me forever.” Ellen G. White: “The marriage represents the union of humanity with divinity… The marriage supper of the Lamb is the reception by Christ of His kingdom and the redeemed.” (The Great Controversy, p. 426) The marriage supper of the Lamb is the culmination of divine romance—humanity restored and united again with its Creator.

  4. The Great Exchange: From Adam’s Tree to Christ’s Cross Comparison Table: Adam in Eden — Ate from the forbidden tree; brought death to all; joined his bride in disobedience; feared separation; lost paradise. Christ at Calvary — Hung upon the cursed tree; brought life to all; joined His bride in redemption; restored union; opened paradise again. “Through the yielding of Adam to temptation, the human race was separated from God. Through the sacrifice of Christ, we are reconciled to Him.” (Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 63)

 5. The Final Invitation – The Bride’s Call Key Texts: Revelation 22:17 — “The Spirit and the bride say, Come.” Isaiah 62:5 — “As the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.”

“The last call of mercy to a perishing world is a revelation of His character of love.” (Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 415) The story that began with Adam’s choice of love over obedience ends with Christ’s obedience born of love. The redeemed become the Bride who mirrors the Bridegroom—perfected love, united again with God. “Adam gave his life for his wife in transgression; Christ gave His life for His bride in righteousness. One act closed the gates of Eden; the other opened the gates of eternity.”

‘’Was Ellen White a heretic?’’ Written by a concerned theologian. (for the record the author of this blog disagrees with this concerned theologian)

 https://actheologian.com/2017/01/09/the-false-christ-of-ellen-white/

‘’What about Ellen White?  Does she teach a false Christ?  To be fair, I’ll present a few quotes from her writings on each topic.’’

E White’s response: “Christ Himself did not suppress one word of truth, but He spoke it always in love. He exercised the greatest tact, and thoughtful, kind attention in His intercourse with the people. He was never rude, never needlessly spoke a severe word, never gave needless pain to a sensitive soul. He did not censure human weakness. He fearlessly denounced hypocrisy, unbelief, and iniquity, but tears were in His voice as He uttered His scathing rebukes.”  – The Desire of Ages, Pg 353, Ellen G. White

(Theologian)My problem with the quote above is that it leaves out the authority, power, and wrath of God.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not denying the love of God either.  Both are true, as I presented in an older post which you can find HERE the Holiness, Wrath, and Love of God are connected to each other.  If you pull one out, you lose the others.  Instead of presenting the authority and wrath of Christ accurately Ellen White has scaled it back for us.

To demonstrate this, I will compare how Ellen White presents his “scathing rebukes” with the way the Bible does.

“15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables; 16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise.; 17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.” John 2:15-17 KJV

Instead of something closer to the Biblical text Ellen White gives us imagery of a voice cracking in tears.  I think it’s fair to say that Ellen White and I are not thinking about the same person.

(E White) “Untold evil has come from the heresy of eternal torment. It takes the religion of the Bible, so full of love and goodness, darkens it by superstition and clothes it with terror. Satan has painted the character of God in false colours, making people fear, dread, and even hate our merciful Creator. The repulsive views of God that have spread over the world from the teachings of the pulpit have made millions of people skeptics and unbelievers.” –The Great Hope, Pg 28, Ellen G. White

(View of the author of this blog)

‘’If our minds are not renewed, concerning YHVH’s mercy and love for humanity, according to all YHVH’s Word, we will die in despair in the coming last days.

Am I renouncing my Christian faith? No – Im saying for too long we have not been telling the whole truth. ‘’Half a truth is a whole lie’’

Don’t accuse me of being too rabbinic or too liberal in my theology. I left the church because I lost Jesus in the church. When eventually I left the church Jesus found me again and led me to embrace His and my Father in a manner that I had never known before. Then just for a bonus Jesus ‘’threw in’’ the Torah and said study this carefully it will show you the way back into my Fathers presence - the garden of the New Jerusalem.’’

Blessed are you YHVH, our Elohim, King of the Universe, you have given us your Torah of truth and have planted everlasting life within our midst. Blessed are you, YHVH giver of the Torah. Amein.

Sukkot 2025

Chag Sameach Sukkot

Blessed are You, Adonai our God, Ruler of the Universe, who has given us life, sustained us, and allowed us to reach this season.

Sukkot 2025 : The Feast of Tabernacles - The Coming Kingdom – 34min

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6pRZdynsWI

This Jewish Messianic rabbi gives an insightful teaching on Succoth. I share some of his insights with some additional comments:

Lev 23:39  ‘On the fifteenth day of the seventh new moon, when you gather in the fruit of the land, celebrate the festival of יהוה for seven days. On the first day is a rest, and on the eighth day a rest. (‘’the festival’’ is the only time in the Torah where the definite article ‘’the’’ is used)

Lev 23:40  ‘And you shall take for yourselves on the first day the fruit of good trees, branches of palm trees, twigs of leafy trees, and willows of the stream, and shall rejoice before יהוה your Elohim for seven days. (‘’rejoice’’ is also the only time this word is used to describe a feast)

The sages tell us “He who sits in the sukkah sits in the shadow of the Faithful One,
and the wings of the Shekhinah spread over him from above.”

Jer 33:10  “Thus said יהוה, ‘In this place of which you say, “It is dried up, without man and without beast,” in the cities of Yehuah, in the streets of Yerushalayim that are deserted, without man and without inhabitant and without beast, there shall once again be heard (this verse describes events in the world just before the millennial reign of Messiah)

Jer 33:11  the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who are saying, “Praise יהוה of hosts, for יהוה is good, for His loving-commitment is forever,” of those who are bringing the offering of praise into the House of יהוה. For I shall turn back the captivity of the land, as at the first,’ declares יהוה. (this verse describes events at the beginning of the millennium)

A Great Multitude from Every Nation

Rev 7:9  After this I looked and saw a great crowd which no one was able to count, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes, and palm branches in their hands,

Rev 7:10  and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Deliverance belongs to our Elohim who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

This is possibly not a reference to the millennium but to the beginning of the great tribulation. Where according to John a remnant of believers will be ‘’transported’’ to a place of safe refuge –

The Woman and the Dragon

Rev 12:1  And a great sign was seen in the heaven: a woman clad with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.

Rev 12:2  And being pregnant, she cried out in labour and in pain to give birth. (chosen messianic remnant)

Rev 12:3  And another sign was seen in the heaven: and see, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, (World Edomite government) and seven crowns on his heads. (demonic trinity empowering false antichrist system)

Rev 12:4  And his tail draws a third of the stars of the heaven and throws them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, to devour her child as soon as it was born.

Rev 12:5  And she bore a male childa who was (Gk – action is impending) to shepherd all nations with a rod of iron. Psa_2:9 And her child was caught away to Elohim and to His throne. Footnote: aSee also Isa_26:17, Isa_66:7, Mic_4:9-10

Rev 12:6  And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by Elohim, to be nourished there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.

Rev 12:17  And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to fight with the remnant of her seed, those guarding the commands of Elohim and possessing the witness of יהושע Messiah.

This Messianic rabbi then shared some interesting insights from a miracle Yahshua performed during Succoth.

Joh 8:12  Therefore יהושע spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall by no means walk in darkness, but possess the light of life.”

Joh 9:4  “It is necessary for Me to work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day – night is coming, when no one is able to work.

Joh 9:5  “While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

Joh 9:6  Having said this, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva, and applied the clay to the eyes of the blind man.

Joh 9:7  And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Shiloa" (which means Sent). So he went and washed, and came seeing.

One of my conclusions after listening to this Jewish rabbi was that it feels like there are so many amazing revelations from YHVH’s Word that we are yet to see.

The single greatest tragedy of our age is that religion has blinded the eyes of humanity – this too shall come to an end.

May YHVH open a window from heaven to give us life changing revelation concerning this appointment.

Mishnah Sanhedrin 10:1

“All Israel have a share in the World to Come ..but these are the exceptions, the people who have no share in the World-to-Come, even when they fulfilled many mitzvot: One who says: There is no resurrection of the dead derived from the Torah, and one who says: The Torah did not originate from Heaven, and an epikoros, (heretic) who treats Torah scholars and the Torah that they teach with contempt.

Olam Ha-Ba is the perfected creation in which God’s presence is fully revealed and the righteous share in His light — the Sabbath of all history.

Parashat 2 Portion 5 ‘’Noach’’ Gen 8:1-22 Hab 3:2-10,19

Blessed are You, YHVH, our Elohim, King of the universe, who set us apart us with Your commandments and have given to us Yeshua the Messiah, the Living Torah.

The Sages often draw parallels between Noah’s waiting in the ark and the future waiting before the Geulah (redemption) and the Yemot HaMashiach (Messianic age). The Flood story becomes a template for understanding how humanity should prepare for a radically renewed world.

Just as Noah had to wait, test, and receive a divine sign before leaving the ark, so too we are in a period of preparation and transition before the Messianic age.

(Sanhedrin 97b) says we cannot “force the end.” Redemption has its own divinely appointed time. Our role is patience and preparation, not trying to break the process prematurely.

The following short video reveals a very serious problem some believers face today: 3min

"Crazy people gave up all their belongings and sold all their stuff anticipating the rapture’’

https://youtube.com/shorts/e9e4_6ike7w?si=A4EM8Wud_InX2MbO

ויזכר אלהים את־נח – YHVH remembered Noah (and us) in our time of transition.

YHVH has not forgotten us in this time of transition. We don’t have to perform we need to wait.

Isa 40:30  Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men stumble and fall,

Isa 40:31  but those who wait on יהוה renew their strength, they raise up the wing like eagles, they run and are not weary, they walk and do not faint.

 The Flood Subsides

Gen 8:1 And Elohim remembered Noa, and all the beasts and all the cattle that were with him in the ark. And Elohim made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided.

Genesis Rabbah 33:4 teaches that YHVH did not dry the waters instantly, but let them decrease little by little, showing that YHVH’s mercy works in measured stages.

This became a lesson: YHVH does not overwhelm creation with sudden change but restores it gradually. (like birth pains for His people, but sudden destruction for others)

The sending of the ruach (wind/spirit) was the first sign that judgment was ending and restoration was beginning.

Joe 2:28  “And after this it shall be that I pour out My Spirit on all flesh. And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men dream dreams, your young men see visions.

Mat 24:13  “But he who shall have endured to the end shall be saved.a Footnote: aSee Mat_10:22

Mat 24:14  “And this Good News of the reign shall be proclaimed in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end shall come. (maybe a much different gospel than what many have heard)

Gen 8:2 And the fountains of the deep and the windows of the heavens were stopped, and the rain from the heavens was withheld.

Rev 11:6 tell us that during the last 31/2 year great tribulation no rain will fall on earth. Yet the prophet says the overwhelming hunger and thirst will be to hear the Word of YHVH - Amos 8:11  “See, days are coming,” declares the Master יהוה, “that I shall send a hunger in the land, not a hunger for bread, nor a thirst for water, but for hearing the Words of יהוה. Amo 8:12  “And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from north to east – they shall diligently search, seeking the Word of יהוה, but they shall not find it.

Gen 8:3 And the waters receded steadily from the earth, and at the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters diminished.

Gen 8:4 And in the seventh new moon, the seventeenth day of the new moon, the ark rested on the mountains of Ararat. Gen 7:11

Gen 8:5 And the waters decreased steadily until the tenth new moon. In the tenth new moon, on the first day of the new moon, the tops of the mountains became visible.

Gen 8:6 And it came to be, at the end of forty days, that Noa opened the window of the ark which he had made,

The window serves as a ‘’Revelation’’ to our transition from this world to the next.

Gen 8:7 and he sent out a raven, which kept going out and turning back until the waters had dried up from the earth.

Spiritual lesson: the ‘’raven’’ (ערב) an unclean animal feeding on dead corpses. Nothing contaminated (‘’shachats’’) will be allowed to enter the ark – dwelling of YHVH’s people again.

Gen 8:8 Then he sent out a dove from him, to see if the waters had receded from the face of the ground.

Gen 8:9 But the dove found no resting place for its feet and returned into the ark to him, for the waters were on the face of all the earth. So, he put out his hand and took it and pulled it into the ark to himself.

Gen 8:10 And he waited yet another seven days, and again he sent the dove out from the ark.

Gen 8:11 And the dove came to him in the evening, and see, a freshly plucked olive leaf was in its mouth. And Noa knew that the waters had receded from the earth.

Gen 8:12 And he waited yet another seven days and sent out the dove, which did not return to him again.

Spiritual lesson: the dove with the olive leaf reveals a powerful mystery of Messiah dwelling within the midst of His people. Isa 61:1  The Spirit (dove) of the Master יהוה is upon Me, because יהוה has anointed Me (olive branch) to bring good news to the meek –

The prophecy continues to elaborate on what happens when this Messiah dwells amongst His people: (this is why we wait for Him, instead of sending out stupid little videos that the rapture is about to take place)

He has sent Me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim release to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound,

Isa 61:2  to proclaim the acceptable year of יהוה, and the day of vengeance of our Elohim, to comfort all who mourn, (a people in transition do the same while they wait for Him)

Isa 61:3  to appoint unto those who mourn in Tsiyon: to give them embellishment for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. And they shall be called trees of righteousness, a planting of יהוה, to be adorned.

Isa 61:4  And they shall rebuild the old ruins, raise up the former wastes. And they shall restore the ruined cities, the wastes of many generations.

Isa 61:5  And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the foreigner be your ploughmen and your vinedressers.

Isa 61:6  But you shall be called, ‘Priests of יהוה,’ ‘Servants of our Elohim’ shall be said of you. You shall consume the strength of the nations, and boast in their esteem.

Isa 61:7  Instead of your shame and reproach, they rejoice a second time in their portion. Therefore they take possession a second time in their land, everlasting joy is theirs.

Isa 61:8  “For I, יהוה, love right-ruling; I hate robbery for ascending offering. And I shall give their reward in truth, and make an everlasting covenant with them.

Isa 61:9  “And their seed shall be known among the nations, and their offspring in the midst of the peoples. All who see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed יהוה has blessed.”

Isa 61:10  I greatly rejoice in יהוה, my being exults in my Elohim. For He has put garments of deliverance on me, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

Isa 61:11  For as the earth brings forth its bud, as the garden causes the seed to shoot up, so the Master יהוה causes righteousness and praise to shoot up before all the nations!

Gen 8:13 And it came to be in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the new moon, that the waters were dried up from the earth. And Noa removed the covering of the ark and looked and saw the surface of the ground was dry.

Gen 8:14 And in the second new moon, on the twenty-seventh day of the new moon, the earth was dry.

Gen 8:15 And Elohim spoke to Noa, saying,

Gen 8:16 “Go out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and your sons’ wives with you.

Gen 8:17 “Bring out with you every life form of all flesh that is with you: of birds, of cattle and all creeping creatures – the creeping creatures on the earth. And let them teem on the earth, and bear and increase on the earth.”

Gen 8:18 So Noa went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him,

Gen 8:19 every beast, every creeping creature, and every bird, whatever creeps on the earth, according to their kinds, went out of the ark.

The Flood story is therefore tied to Tishrei-based months in Genesis, but can also be re-read through the Nisan-based calendar for symbolic links (e.g., to Passover and Firstfruits).

Entered Ark / Flood began: Year 600, Month 2, Day 17.

Exited Ark / Earth fully dry: Year 601, Month 2, Day 27.

That’s 1 year and 10 days inside the ark.

The year in the ark was a long test of patience, faith, and trust, with no certainty of what awaited outside.

The parallels are striking in both cases, a faithful remnant endures judgment, is preserved by YHVH, separated from corruption, and emerges into a covenantal renewal where creation is restored to harmony. The story of Noah becomes a spiritual blueprint for how the faithful should wait, prepare, and hope for the Messianic kingdom.

YHVH's Covenant with Noah

Gen 8:20 And Noa built a slaughter-place to יהוה and took of every clean beast and of every clean bird and offered ascending offerings on the slaughter-place.

After the Flood, YHVH made a covenant with Noah, symbolized by the rainbow. The Flood was not just destruction but a cosmic reset, a chance for creation to begin anew with righteousness as its foundation. So, it shall be again at in the last days.

The messianic era is likewise described as a renewal of creation (tikkun olam), when the world is restored to its intended harmony (Isaiah 11:6–9: wolf dwelling with the lamb, universal knowledge of God).

Additional Midrash:

One of the reasons the remnant of YHVH is so small is that very few of His people are willing to endure the ‘’pain’’ of change.

In this regard I am deeply grateful for the teachings and ministry of Bob Mumord. One of his central themes in later years was “transitioning” — how YHVH moves His people from one season, stage, or way of thinking into another.

Core Themes in Mumford’s Teaching on Transition

·          Life with YHVH is not static; He moves us through seasons of growth, pruning, testing, and renewal.

·         Transition often comes when one season ends and another begins, even if we don’t

feel “ready.”

2. The Wilderness Principle

  • Like Israel leaving Egypt and heading to the Promised Land, transitions often involve a wilderness period — uncomfortable, disorienting, but necessary.
  • Mumford would say: Don’t fight the wilderness;(transition) let YHVH use it to reshape (and prepare) you.

3. Dying to the Old

  • Transition means letting go of what worked before.
  • Old methods, old securities, even old ways of thinking have to be surrendered before we can enter the new.
  • This feels like loss, but it’s preparation for increase.

4. Trusting YHVH’s Timing

  • One of Mumford’s big lessons: YHVH is never late, but He’s seldom early.
  • Transitions often feel delayed, but they unfold in YHVH’s perfect timing, not ours.

5. Relational Anchoring

  • He stressed that covenantal relationships (spiritual family, discipleship, accountability) help us navigate transitions.
  • Isolation during transition is dangerous; community is part of God’s safety net.

6. From Doing to Being

  • A major transition in the Believers life is moving from a performance-based faith to resting in sonship.
  • Mumford often framed transition as a shift from trying harder to trusting deeper.

Blessed are You, YHVH our Elohim, King of the universe, who gave us the Torah of truth and eternal life in Yeshua the Messiah. Blessed are You, YHVH, Giver of the Torah.
